Minnesota Vikings roster updates: Jordan Addison, JJ McCarthy, and more
Purple Daily is daily Vikings entertainment. We just want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl before we die. I will ride with this group. Seriously, man. Please. And away we go. Welcome in little bonus Purple Daily for you guys on this Tuesday with our friend Darren Doogie Wolson from the five eyewitness news sports department. a little uh information, some scoopage, some speculation, and whatever else we get into here. Presented by Park Dental. So, it’s almost it’s almost that time for my next dentist appointment at Park Dental. I think it’ll be my third appointment now since jumping. Maybe the fourth. I don’t know. Time flies when you’re having fun at the dentist. That’s right. And I I was between dentists. My old dentist retired and I was looking for a new dentist. and a bunch of co-workers and friends recommended Park Dentl. For over 50 years, Park Dental has been caring for and cleaning teeth in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. And there’s probably a location conveniently placed close to where you work or live in the metro area. And most of their practices open at 7:00 a.m. for like pre-work appointments, and most are open until 8:00 p.m. at least one night a week for those afterwork appointments. You can schedule your checkup at parkdental.com. A man who has great teeth. Darren Doogie Wolson. Those TV teeth. You do have TV teeth. Look at you. I don’t know about that. A lot of coffee over the years, Phil. So, they’re not necessarily pearly white. But yeah, I mean, I religiously go to the dentist. I still love that video. Every time I see that video, the smile on your face, the way you walk out of that office, it’s fantastic. That’s right. Just vibing. Just vibing at the dentist. That’s where I party on the weekends. Park Dental and Parkdental.com. So, Dukes, the the Vikings offense, you know, they’ve been a step or two behind the defense with a young quarterback. This defense has been like fully formed the last couple years. They’re adding great pieces. I think what’s what’s adding to the gap between the offense and the defense though pretty obviously all the injuries that have piled up now. So you had the night practice last night. Jefferson’s been out with the hammy. Hawinson has a mystery lower body maybe leg injury. Darasaw and Fry are kind of working back in but not part of everything. Uh just a lot. And then Ryan Kelly now missed with like an elbow Jud reported on uh Jud’s camp notes. I guess your just your feeling and thoughts on how injuries are stacking up here for that offense in the second week of training camp. Yeah, there’s nothing that worries me too much outside of when exactly is the Jordan Edison suspension going to be announced. The Vikings are still bracing to be without Addison for multiple games in September. Like when thinking about early September roster makeup, the offense, to me, Addison is number one because yes, I worry that it’s a hamstring with Justin Jefferson, but I’m not worried in this moment about his availability for September 8th on Christian Darasaw. It’s trending. I get it. There are still some boxes to check. Let’s see how he gets through next week, the joint practices with the Patriots in particular. But certainly encouraging like there’s nothing to me like he sits out over the weekend. It’s not like I’m thinking oh no or hearing oh no like that’s part of the plan. Will Fry slowly building back up all his conditioning. You know Ryan Kelly elbow. Okay. Yeah. I haven’t heard that that’s some sort of long setback. TJ Hawinson. Yes. Labeled by KOC on Monday. What? Leg, hip, back, something. The lower portion of the body. Oh, who knows? But I’ve not heard that the hawk injury is anything long term. Now, if you want to talk long term, Gavin Bartholomew, who I don’t think was going to be a big part of their September plans, but if you had asked me in early June, okay, early 53man roster projection, I would have told you Bartholomew, draft pick, tight end out of Pittsburgh, he makes the roster. Well, he is not going to be ready in September. So, I’ll just tell you that right now that that is certainly a headline when you’re asking me about the health of the offense. Gavin Bartholomew, I am told, is a long-term injury. When KOC met with us what, two weeks ago today, to preview training camp, I mean, it feels like we’re in the dog days of training camp, but really only 13 days truly in first practice 13 days ago. 14 days ago, KOC met with us to preview training camp. He labeled the Bartholomew injury as a back issue. I am told it is longterm. I can’t tell you definitively when he’ll be okay. I mean, he’ll be around. So, the question is, is it long-term IR? Is it pup? Whatever it is, but Gavin Bartholomew will not be on the field anytime soon. Do we know what happened there? Because Dukes, I do recall going to I think starting with OTAAS and he wasn’t practicing and I just assumed oh he’s got something tweaked. But do we know what transpired here? Because I think the question that I’ve gotten on Twitter from fans is like did they draft him not knowing something which would be very rare because of the physicals when this might have happened. Yeah. Well, when they drafted him he was okay. like this wasn’t something that happened in early April during his pre-draft training or anything like that. I don’t know the definitive day if it was OTAA week two. I don’t think it was the mandatory mini camp though if I’m remembering correctly. Jud, you and I each other. Yeah, he wasn’t out there that second week of June that Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. So, it was prior to that, but I don’t know if it was OTAA week one, week two, but this was not something that happened pre-draft, but certainly discouraging, right? Like, you would have figured by now he would be okay. So, that just tells you the magnitude of the setback. Not like he doesn’t want to be out there, right? Of course, as a rookie, he wants to be out there. So, incredibly frustrating. But the way it was labeled to me is longterm quote long-term setback. uh on McCarthy who’s, you know, having to deal with a lot of these injuries and different things uh around him. This infrastructure that, you know, when fully formed should be great for him, but he’s had to deal with a lot of that while getting blasted in the face with the the fire hose that is the Brian Flores defense. And uh it’s been a grind. I mean, he’s kept a he’s kept that quarterback energy, that QBE that we talk about on the show, and it it does not seem to be bothering him too much that it’s been kind of a slog to move the ball the last two weeks. But just your opinion watching quarterbacks at camp for 20 years in your career. Uh, where are you at with JJ McCarthy here first two weeks of training camp? Well, I’m okay, Phil. Although, think about from the moment he completed that pass to you until now. I’m the crypto. There hasn’t been a whole lot of positives, right? So, was there some negative mojo when he completed that pass to you? Is it possible? Yeah, it’s it’s it’s I don’t know how we reverse it now. Does it have to do I have to catch another one or does he have do I have to drop one and it reverses and now he plays like an allp pro? I don’t I don’t know what the reversal is here. It’s a fascinating question. I mean, I thought he was pretty good on Saturday, all things considered last night. Like when you don’t have two-fifths of your offensive line, when you don’t have Hawk, when you don’t have Justin Jefferson, like I was even just texting with an agent who’s making the rounds, right? Visiting all sorts of clients across many different training camps. He was telling me a in fact, I’ll read this. I think the audience will like this. Let me read this verbatim. Literally was just texting with him 30 minutes ago. Let me find it here. Wolf is the best owner in the league in my opinion. Happy employees. They take care of their people. So that was one observation from this agent. But like he said, hey, as I’m making the rounds, and he represents a number of offensive players, defensive players too, but a number of offensive players. He’s like, hey, like I haven’t been to a camp where I’m like, yeah, the offense is way ahead of the defense. I caught up with I think our mutual friend, certainly somebody we all know, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. He’s been making the rounds. Caught up with him for a while when he was at camp on Friday. He said outside of Green Bay a little bit, the defenses have been ahead. Like Friday, Vikings camp was his eighth or ninth camp visit. Can’t remember the exact number, but we’re talking multiple. He’s been around. of all those the defense ahead of the offense. I’m not particularly concerned. Like Phil, I’ve been bullish on JJ McCarthy for a really long time. To me, it’s part of the process. Like I thought many, many weeks ago, one of the best bets on the board, well, heck, the best bet on the board is Gopher football over six and a half. But when talking about NFL over under totals, over eight and a half Vikings, I’ve long thought that’s a pretty good bet. I haven’t seen anything the last couple weeks to suggest I need to waver from that opinion. Sure, he has missed some throws. We wonder about the touch. Yeah, he’s got a good fast ball. All right. How much is he going to use his legs? Last night, he ran a lot. We can have a valid back and forth, but I still firmly believe in JJ McCarthy. To me, the biggest quarterback question remains, who backs up JJ McCarthy because I’m not convinced the number two quarterback is currently on the roster. I agree with that completely. And so the thing with McCarthy too, and we talked about this a little bit on uh the Juds Campotes episode of Purple Daily today, Dukes, is you know, he is being put in positions. Okonnell and Okonnell talked about this in the pre-practice press conference last night. Okonnell wants to see things. So he is purposely putting him in positions to see how he reacts and what he does. And then it’s a teaching tool. And I will remind you the night practice. So I’m with you. I thought McCarthy shown progress. I thought his best full padded practice was Saturday, which was a very physical practice. And the night practice is always sort of weird as well because it’s sort of a showmanship practice. You do drills and stuff, but um let me just remind you that a year ago, in fact, a year ago before the night practice was right after the Raiders preseason game when Okonnell came out and said, “Carthy’s knee is sore.” And I’m like, “That’s not good.” And fans are like, “Shut up, Zolgad Sports Dead. You know nothing. He’s fine.” And then he wasn’t fine. But if you guys recall in that practice, Sam Darnold did not look good and threw the through a pick six and that might have been the first time that we saw the Van Ginkle. There there was the Van Ginkle where he tipped the ball and scored and we’re all like this is Sam. This is a problem. So, but I I put a lot of credence into the fact that that Okonnell definitely is putting McCarthy in positions to just see what he does and then it’s a teaching tool. So, like you cannot take these as it’s not like they’re scrimmaging. Um, now and I believe if you look at my stats thus far, if you want to look at the team drills, Dukes, I think he’s completing around 70 plus% of his passes there too, which is not terrible. So, I’m not concerned. And then the other threat is this, what you said, which is him running, which I think he’s going to be predisposed to do a little bit more this year than he probably will in two years. And the entire run game, which is not really being unleashed. It’s being used, but not. So, so yeah, for all of the panic with the first team, I would say let’s calm down. But then you bring up a great point. Any panic about if McCarthy gets hurt, what transpires there, hit the button. Hit it now. Hit it three times. I am very concerned because I like Max Bromer, but you cannot ask him to be the two. Uh other than that, I have I have real concerns. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And hey, Max is going to be here. Like, I don’t think he gets claimed. I think you can pass him through. He’s on the practice squad. Max will be here all year. Have a chance to develop hack this time next year. Maybe we’ll be talking about Max Brosmer as a clear-cut option to be a number two. Like, I’m a big believer in Max Bromer, but yeah, in the immediate, no, Max Bromer is not this team’s number two quarterback. And so like two, three weeks ago, I would have told you, hey, on August 5th, I’ll have all sorts of questions about cornerback. Do they need to go pursue Asante Samuel Jr. or Rasool Douglas or you name the available cornerback? Like I thought that was number one. Not that backup quarterback wasn’t near the top, but I didn’t think it’d be number one. Right now to me, it’s clear-cut number one when thinking about Okay, backups. Now, maybe a little bit running back three, although they really like Xavier Scott. Like, I’m not sure Ty Chandler has done anything to pop so far, but that may change. Like, has his blocking taken a step forward? He can still be a weapon in the return game as they figure out in particular who is their number one kick returner. So, I wonder a little bit about running back three, maybe a couple other spots here and there. just a little bit. Even wide receiver, I mean, Addison down. So, like, who’s wide receiver three those first few weeks? Okay. Jefferson, Naylor. Who is wide receiver three? Is it Lucky Jackson? Lucky Jackson has been great. I thought maybe Ty Felton would pop a little bit more early, but I’ll give him a longer runway as a rookie. But to me, it’s it’s quarterback. It’s backup quarterback. It’s like, okay, I think I’ve seen enough even going back to OTAAS as a mini camp. I’m not sure it can be Sam how I get it. He’s played, so you can’t suggest he doesn’t have some veteran presence. But yeah, and hey, we can always fall back on, too. If the starting quarterback misses multiple weeks, you’re probably screwed anyway. But the quarterback whisperer is here. You would feel okay if McCarthy needs to miss two or three games. You would feel okay with KOC leading the way. But can Sam Hal execute what KOCC wants to accomplish? Yeah, I have I’m telling you. Yeah. With a month to go until the Chicago game, I have all sorts of questions about number two quarterback. And I thought Brett Ripen may be able to take a step forward. Maybe he could be the number two. No, I haven’t seen enough so far from Brett Ripen to suggest that. Yeah. real quick on on Xavier Scott. He I mean he’s been getting run with like the second team offense and and and it’s a it’s a thin group competing for that third running back spot, but what do we know? So, he was undrafted uh he played he played a couple years at Yukon, then then Maine from 2020 through 22, was undrafted in 2023, winds up on the Colts practice squad. Uh so just kind of like a smaller college uh journeyman through the the the Colts offseason roster the last couple years, but but he’s been getting some run in practice here. So like is I I kind of thought, oh, he’s just a guy on a camp roster, but he he’s flirting with potentially making the team as the third running back, we think. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, they liked him last year when he was here on the practice squad. Yeah. So they got a good look at him a lot last year. I should have taken a closer look. So, I was at a workout three weeks ago in St. Louis Park at TRIA Gameface Training. My good buddy Da Vinci Jordan putting Evan Hall and some others through a workout getting these guys ready for training camp. Well, Xavier Scott was there. Heard some buzz when I was in the gym that day. I should have paid closer attention. Yeah, Xavier Scott, number 36. For any fans going to practice tomorrow or Thursday or the game Saturday or next week, the joint practices, keep a close eye on number 36. He does have a chance to make the 53 man for sure. So on on Chandler, first of all, in the last like week and a half or so, he’s being used a ton. Like he is getting a ton of run with the second team. The interesting thing is Okonnell was asked about him last night and Okonnell said, “Yeah, he’s looked good.” And then he said, “I talked to him.” So, so Okonnell’s big on if Ty Chandler breaks off a run, he wants to go at tempo and come right back while the defense is on its heels and Chandler has I guess infamously missed blocks then and taken away the good run by the quarterback being sacked or something. And Okonnell said there was a practice where this exact this is what happened and I think he said Chandler missed the safety and he said I told him ty that was your one miss. So, like if that’s the truth, we are and I’m not surprised. We are talking about a guy on thin ice, but his inability to do the other things that are so important are what would cost Tai Chandler’s job potentially cuz they would need him like at this point. It’s like, all right, Aaron Jones is here, Jordan Mason’s here. Like, your role would be like a third down specialist, maybe maybe a a series or two here and there, but he would need to be relied upon on those must pass situations. And three years in, obviously they don’t have a lot of trust in that. Yeah. I mean, so far he can’t block, right? I mean, that’s the issue. He has to show us, well, not us, but the Vikings coaching staff, he’s capable of being a capable blocker. We’re not suggesting he needs to be an A+ blocker, but right now, the blocking to me is what’s holding him back. So, yeah, right now, Ty Chandler is a long way to go. Put it that way. Kai Chandler has a long way to go to be here on August 28th. Yeah. Uh before we get to the rest of our discussion here with Doogie from Channel 5, a shout out to Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. I’ll let you guys take this home uh in the second half and I will see you tomorrow on Purple Daily. We’ll do we’ll do meetings. Big meetings. Power meetings. Power meetings. Not only is Mackie in power meetings, I got a meeting with Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. They’re my guy’s coming to the house here in a couple hours to check out the HVAC. So, so Phil’s taking care of of of big boy things. I’m taking care of things in the house, the things that actually matter in an investing, right, Doo? So, got to make sure the HVAC and and everything is working properly. They’re going to come in here, make sure everything is working good. Uh, go to standard heating.com, tell them that we sent you here from Purple Daily. We’d love to hear from you. I’d love to support our sponsor. So, go to Standard Heating and I’ll have more on uh on their visit here in coming reads on the show. All right, dudes. Back to back to the backup QB because I find this to be really intriguing. Okay, so last night in his pre-practice press conference, Okonnell was asked about how and the quarterback’s development behind JJ and he said something I thought was very intriguing. He basically said Sam’s made some nice throws, but he said he’s never played in my system. And of course, Okonnell being Okonnell said that doesn’t mean those systems are wrong. It’s just not my system. And it is I what I took that as because you always have to read between the lines, right? What I took that as is it’s not really developing as quickly as I would like. And and that’s the thing is Okano is a quarterback whisperer, but Okonnell throws a lot of quarterbacks in the trash bin as well. Like he’s not a come one, come all, hey, you play quarterback, I love you. He has a very like set philosophy on who’s going to work. So, I thought that was a very intriguing comment as if to say, and you can sort of see it through the processing that Howell is doing. It’s as if to say, I don’t know if I can get him up to speed quick enough for him to be a quarterback on my roster. I think that’s fair. Okay. So, who are logical options? Go. Is it Kirk Cousins or Bust or how long does the list go? I don’t foresee it being anybody that’s on the street right now. I agree with that. Teddy Bridgewwater just came off right signing with Tampa this morning, but not that I thought Teddy was a viable option here. But yes, who are viable options? Are there any viable options of backups or third guys that might know the system? I I I think Okonnell’s frustration is I think he feels and um and the past probably violated this as well. I think Okonnell feels if you know what I want you to do, that’s a really good starting point. If you don’t, I I don’t know that I can fix you or or in the case of Howell or in the case of the Pastronaut back in the day, get you up to speed quick enough to do what I want. So, I guess my question is, are there a second or third quarterbacks? And I know that sounds weird, but that can run the system more efficiently. Who was the guy? I think he was the the backup quarterback. He might be the third QB in Tampa now. Is it John Wolfford? Wolford. Do do you remember him? He started. Yeah. He was with the Rams. Yeah. Yeah. Okonnell really liked him and they I think they tried to get him here. So like so so we’re not talking about names that are going to knock your socks off. Um but we are talking about names that Okonnell feels that he can work with quickly and mold. And that’s where, and I’m with you, I think Brett Ripen’s a three. I think Max Bromer is a developmental guy who some days has been the best backup QB in camp. No question about it, but he’s not ready yet in my opinion. So, is there a guy like that who we might not be thinking of, but Okonnell identified long ago as a potential fit, which is not what I think I don’t think he identified Howell. I think that was a default thing of we haven’t gotten a guy yet. We got to get a guy. Let’s just take a shot. Possible. I’ve not been told that directly, but I’m not dismissing that. Does it have to be somebody that’s played under KOC previously? I don’t think it necessarily does. So, I think the list goes longer than Cousins. Like, who are the quarterbacks right now in Vegas? I don’t have the Raiders depth chart in front of me. Is Okonnell. Speaking of Okonnell is Aiden Okonnell. Aiden O’Connell. Is he the clearcut number two in Vegas or is there a battle there in Vegas still there? Uh I believe so. I’m checking that right right now. But yeah, your your thought process is is correct. What I would be curious of who is working right now as a backup in sort of that McVey tree Shanahan like like those guys those guys. So you wouldn’t have had to play for Kevin, but you would have to be familiar with sort of the tentacles of Kevin’s philosophy, which is what those guys are. All right. So what you’re saying is go back the last few years. Look at the Rams quarterbacks. Look at the 49ers quarterbacks. Any other teams? Well, I mean, now they’re starting to go places like Jacksonville now with Con, right? and and I think they signed Mullins because of that because he knows what they want because of his previous association now with Kevin Oonnell. Um so yeah, that’s just the tree. But I but but Dex, I don’t think it has to be like a household name. I just think it has to be somebody who gets the system and can operate efficiently. Yeah. No, I I get that. Um, actually different position, but we talked about Jordan Addison’s potential suspension. Uh, obviously we’re hoping Justin Jefferson’s a good and all good to go for week one and the hamstrings not an issue. Keenan Allen, he was working out again with the Chargers over the weekend. Dukes, they’re still Amari Cooper, Gabe Davis, Nelson Agular, Tyler Boyd. A lot of these guys are still out there. Do they work out a wide receiver here before the start of the season? andor, you know, the second part of that would be, do they bring someone in to add some more depth? All right. Well, in terms of bringing somebody in, I don’t have any steam on that. I’ve not been told anything, but at some point in the next two to three weeks, bringing somebody in for a look, then figuring out, does it make sense? I guess I’m not saying 100% no chance. I can’t sit here and tell you that. Yeah. I mean, the Vikings have been bracing to be without Addison for multiple games. And like I like Lucky Jackson, but I would imagine September 8th, September 14th, September 21st. The idea is to use three receiver sets at some point. Well, is it number 81 Lucky Jackson? Is it Rond Del Moore? Does Moore now have maybe a slightly better chance? Getting a lot of second team run. And I think he’s got a chance as a punt returner and a gimmick guy, but I don’t think that I don’t think the skill set that that made him so great in college necessarily carries over to the pros where all of these guys are athletes, right? Well, and I mean, and I had a chat with him the other day, you know, and he wasn’t going to reveal much certainly on camera, but like when you have that horrific injury he suffered this time last year, like that just it takes a while mentally, physically, like y the details of of that leg injury. I mean, I don’t have every single detail, but it sounds like it was incredibly frightening. Like, we’re not just talking a run-of-the-mill leg injury. So you look at the structure of the Rond Del Moore contract to me he’s never been a lock to make the initial 53 man like let’s see here let’s evaluate in August but that wasn’t like okay you sign you name the free agent you know whatever will fry Ryan Kelly okay of course that guy is going to be here for the opener on September 8th no just look at the structure of the Rond Del Moore contract no so I would tell you Dex like Maybe there’s just no steam in the moment. But yeah, I mean, there are a number of guys that are fully capable. I mean, you wonder at some point, you know, what’s going on with the Commanders? Do the Commanders make a move on one of these guys? Heck, Keenan Allen working out in LA. I mean, you know, couldn’t the Chargers still use, even though it’s a runheavy offense, couldn’t the Chargers use a wide receiver? Like so I wonder if some of these guys start coming off the board elsewhere, but I can’t sit here and tell you like 0% it’s not happening. So the potential curveball here actually is the Hawinson injury that occurred on Saturday that looked like a groin, but that’s the So the thing is this one is they’d be careful with Justin Jefferson and that hamstring regardless. But I but he looks really good like like he looks fine out there. But I think that they’re being extra cautious because of the anticipated suspension of Addison that you talked about. If Hawinson now is slowed down, that becomes a problem. And the other thing, Dukes, is the more I watch Naylor, he’s not a he’s not a two. He’s a three. So like there there there is a case to be made. I think he looks pretty good. I do. The contested balls down deep. He has problems there. I I mean he looks good, right? There were drops last year. Fair. Yeah, you’re saying to me, what I’ve seen, he looks pretty good. I I see him as a three. I I think he’s a good three. But but the but the point is you could open the season with some real question marks in the passing game. And if Hawinson’s out, because to me, he’s an extension. He’s a big-time extension of that. So, so there certainly is as the regular season near, there’s going to be some decisions to be made about what Declan is talking about, which is do you go out and get a guy? And at the end of the day, too, you are not going to do and they’re not doing anything that jeopardizes Jefferson’s long-term ability to play this season. Uh, so these are all things that factor in. I am still anticipating that the Addison suspension is a news dump on like an upcoming Friday or something probably because that’s ordinarily how we see that. But I do agree it’s coming. And I will say this, if you watch him practice of late, feels like there’s something on his mind. He has not the last like two or three practices he dropped a pass. He tipped a pass actually that was picked off by Theo Jackson on Friday and he went and behind the play or or behind the line of scrimmage where the players congregate and he got down on one knee and for like an extended period of time just buried his hand or his head in his hand and like teammates were coming up and slapping him and trying to it just feels like it feels like he might know something. Total speculation. Well, I mean, I think he knows. I mean, he certainly It’s not just that the Vikings are bracing for a suspension. Certainly his camp is bracing for a suspension. So, is it the immediiacy of that? Is it, hey, you look at Garrett Wilson getting a monster extension, saying, “Okay, a year from now, like Garrett Wilson, good receiver.” In fact, I’m a big Garrett Wilson fan. But couldn’t you argue if you put Jordan Addison’s numbers side by side with Garrett Wilson like what’s the next I guess what I’m alluding to is what is the next Jordan Addison contract look like is that coming here so could it be a little bit more longer term big picture it’s probably more so shortterm what’s about to come the hammer that’s about to drop yeah you’re probably right some sort of Friday afternoon news dump I just wonder too like what does the next Addison ing contract look like? Yep. Doug, any other uh Vikings things left in your bag here before we say goodbye? Yeah, so I continue to be asked about Christian Wilkins. I was told the injury that’s that’s a real thing. Like there’s a reason why he’s still on the market. I mean, if you were any number of teams, wouldn’t you gobble him up by now? I’ve not heard of the Vikings reaching out or showing any sort of serious interest. I mean, the Vikings really like their depth interior defensive line. Like Jaylen Redmond, I heard he popped last night. Like had a good night last night. I thought he showed some stuff last year. I had a nice chat with him the other day. I’m a big Jaylen Redmond fan, right? They have some dudes interior of the defensive line, but just haven’t heard of any legit Vikings interest, but I was also told like that injury thing, that’s a real thing. And so it just it might be a bit for Wilkins to land anywhere. Then I continue to wonder about not because there was a little altercation on Saturday, but Brian Aamoa’s future. You start thinking about the linebackers that make the 53 man. Is there a spot for the locker room DJ? Great dude, right? And just unfortunate, right? I mean, drafted with the intent of playing under Ed Donatel, then things shift, snap of the fingers, just really hasn’t found his footing under Brian Flores. And hey, contract year for Aima. Just wondering, and his name came up in trade talks last year. I just wonder if if he ultimately ends up elsewhere. Yeah, very fair. Thank you, Doogie. Appreciate you, man. Uh, will night last night. I know you pushed the panic button the other day. for six last night. Yeah, he was good last night. Good on grass. That’s all I’m going to say. Yeah. No, Will Riker was was good last night. So, yeah. Thank you, boys. We’ll talk on Thursday. See, we’ll do. We have Jud’s camp notes, too, on the on the channel and on the feed. So, go check that out. This is Purple Daily. Daily Vikings Entertainment. I forgot about Bartholemew
The front office is completely blown the quarterback position. McCarthy is mediocre at best. Thank God we have a decent running game. Because this guy is very inaccurate and does not see the field at all. They better find a back up quarterback. Because the rest of the guys stink. I have no faith that McCarthy last more than four or five games. He’s small and fragile.
Hey guys Cowturd had the infamous Darling Diana R. on his show, typical JJ slobbering on his performance so far. The misfits are ridiculous and not worth watching or repeating. Another “anonymous” source was mentioned though, Darling Diana R said that Alex Lewis has been her constant contact. Someone close to the organization is saying things to generate “news” that’s typically “fake news”! 🤔
I don't understand why they didn't negotiate more to get Daniel Jones signed at an agreeable price. Makes sense for more competition for the #1 spot, and a better back up option if JJ struggles.
JJ’s a 22 yr old football player who hasn’t had his 1st NFL snap. He’s being coached by one of the NFL’s Best Coaches today! STOP making him (JJ) a GOD. Your responses of JJ borders on the fact that he’s being “idolized” when in fact all he’s trying to do is to continue “Chasing after Greatness” 〽️
Cousins is our best option as a backup as long he knows and accepts the role of QB #2 to McCarthy being QB #1
Bring in Keenan Allen if need be
What Kelly has an elbow wow i thought everyone had an elbow 😂just saying
Mackey no one cares
Lets hope dougie doesnt yap at the dentist. No thx.
Dougie do u talk this way to everyone. My god man.
Can i ask why dougie is on here? He brings nothing new.
Rondale is working his way back, shouldn’t be dismissing him like that based on early reps. Pedigree matters 💯
Thank. God. Mackey left.
Judd ur not a doctor. Shush
Wait a minute guys.
Your telling us this guy was injured in minicamp no pads no hitting and he still can’t get on the field?
Another Kwasi flop!
I would like to get dougies and Thors prospective on Kyre Udoh & Parker Brailsford ?
I’m at starting to be a 50/50 guy with all the injuries you guys are telling us about. I hate hearing that I’m sure I’m not the only one 😢plus we really don’t have a #2 Qb 😢😢😢
Doogie is only able to speak in the form of simple sentences
I smell panic all over Purple Daily….😂😂😂 gladly the Vikes aren't ruling my life anymore. I have 10 other relevant hobbies….🎉🎉🎉
After a 13-4 season with an abyssmal ending, I really don't care about our score record anymore. Let it be 9-8 and all starts for scratch.
tj Hock is a bum
Carson Wentz dumbasses. Mcvay this and that and you idiots miss the number 1 option to backup and have familiarity. Instead long faced Wolfson brings up Adan O’Connell lmao
Bring randy back on
Passtronaut one more time ???
I can’t…STAND..How…this guy….TALKS.
And Addison was suspended on a Tuesday lol good call Judd
U got to give a qb 5 or 6 years to really start to gel i think people excpect instance success those guys are the mobile running qbs once defensives figure it out the can scheme for it
I always thought mullens was ok as a backup he knew the system i thinks hes a better option than any of the qbs we have now
What’s the over under on Addison getting more than three games??
I could see the NFL trying to stick it to him and the Vikings.
I still have hope that JJ will be a success, but, I said before….I PREFERRED PENIX. Damn you Falcons!!! I live in Georgia, and Penix is lighting it up and throwing piss missiles all over the field. The team and coaches are SUPER excited about him.
I have never seen such bias against Sam Howell from any podcast ever ! Why?
oh hey it's jared Fogle from subway…oh wait it's doogie
The brutal truths of Judd's camp notes cut like a hot knife through butter
Hockenson is weak and overrated. That's why Detroit got rid of his ass and got a better TE. And Kwesi drafting Bartholemew just adds to his lists of bums he collects in the draft
Hock with the dreaded bilateral leg weakness😂
