Houston Astros vs Miami Marlins – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 5, 2025 MLB Season
of the season. Ready to go on a Tuesday night. Thanks for joining us. Jeremy Pñena takes a pitch for a strike, says Charlie Ramos. And we’re underway. Jeremy goes down on strikes. Calancho picks up a strike out to start this one. This ball hit well to left field. Back goes to the wall looking up. It’s gone into the Marlins bullpen. Jose Alt number 19. tying Isach Paredes for the team lead and it’s two nothing Stro and he just continues to terrorize the M Miami Marlins. He has got huge numbers in his career against them. Now Kareah down on the count one two Carlos tried to hold up and that’s a swing says first base umpire Willie Trainer. Now Christian Walker sends one to center. Jacob Marcy playable makes the catch for the final out. Youngest lineup in all of baseball. Ground ball right side and right there is Christian Walker to take care of Xavier Edwards. Hit the ball sharply but literally pitch by pitch I feel like in this opener. Hey, here we go. Poker with the fast up top. Two outs. This ball hit sharply. Diving stop by. What a play by Raone Arias. Little tapper Quadrol off the mound in a hurry and he’ll make the play. Good play by the pitcher for the Marlins. Duet always jokes around when he’s not in the game about how I’m glad I’m not in there cuz I wouldn’t have had that play. So that’s maybe what he was joking with Urias about. Don shows Bond puts it right in front of the plate. Should be playable for Hicks and it is that ball dead and a little too close to the catcher and that’ll be a one-twoing for Quattro here in the second. That one’s way up in the air. Christian Walker giving it a look near his own dugout. Has room and puts it away. Got him. Beautiful. Oak’s 23rd strike out of a left-hand hitter to only three walks against a lefty coming over from the San Diego Padres’s farm system. Lines this one into left. That’ll be in for a hit. And unfortunately, that run will be charged to Oak. So Oakcher, who pitched very well as an opener, gets charged with a run tonight in an inning and two/3. That one in the air to center. Mauricio Duban waits for it. Marlins will strand two runs, but they do score two runners. They do. There’s Jeremy Pñena, who struck out his first time up. Pena puts the ball in play to center. Another easy play for Marcy. Cal Quantrol has now retired eight in a row since this is great. Is this guy happier than Hector? Is that possible? I don’t know. Apparently. And Oh, yeah. He’s even happier now. He’s going to go for two. He’s going to get there. Oh, he’s going to be really happy now. Christian pops it high in the air to left field. Play of all the shortstop. Otto Lopez in foul territory. puts it away and the Astros will strand the bases loaded here in the third. All the runners with two outs. It’s still a 2-1 Astros lead. The occasional cutter in the air shallow left. Jesus Sanchez towards the line has it and makes the play for out number one. Opportunity arises and it might just be a spot bulk opportunity. That’s a swing and they’re going to have to make the play to first. Yiner Diaz stopped chasing him for a while but he’s still able to make the play. Neither Augustine Ramirez. AJ pumping strikes after getting behind the first batter. Three and one. Oh yeah. 97. Welcome back to the big leagues. AJ Blue Ball. Diaz hits the next time in the lineup. This ball grounded to third. Gobbled up there by Javier Senoa. He’ll make the play for Quantrol with the Marlins. This ball hit pretty well right center field. Back goes Hernandez near the wall. It’s off the wall. Two runs are going to score. Pñena is going to get to third. JP3 with a triple to score two. It’s 4-1 Astros. Now Sanchez hits one high and deep to right field, sending Hernandez back and he’s going to make the catch at the base of the wall. Jesus towards the middle, but Aras calmly makes that backhand play. That was not an easy play as his numbers at second base are the best of all his positions. Speaking of Mauricio, he’s going to try and chase this one down from center and it’s going to drop. I thought Aras had a shot and then he laid up on it and didn’t get aggressive with it. Hernandez, that ball hits a center. Mauricio’s going to try and track this one down and he’ll make the play. Tagging and heading to third is going to be Hernandez. Good strong throw by Dubon from deep in the outfield. He got him. 98 98 flat has looked impressive in his two innings of work. Altuve drilled one but right to the third baseman Senoa. Altuve was Senoa’s idol. Javier was growing up. In fact, he talked to Aluve. That ball drilled to left field all the way back. Sters. He’ll watch it bounce up off the top of the wall. Kareah being held at third. Astros have second and third now with one away. He hits one high. He hits one deep. He hits one all the way out and gone. A threepointer for Yiner Diaz deep into the seats in Miami. And the Astros lead this game seven to one. Yiner Diaz. Bartender put a little extra on that Yiner bomb. No doubter into the seats. It’s not going to light up the radar gun, but he’s got plenty of pitches to attack hitters with. Cam Smith trying to steal and the ball is sent in play by Duban, who was thrown out on a nice play by the big 7-1 lead so far tonight. That ball hit high in the air to left field. Sters drifts back and has room right at the edge of the track and he puts it away for the final out of the inning. This ball hit pretty well to right, sending Cam Smith all the way back. And Cam will watch this one go. Jacob Marcy has had a huge start to his career playing just his fifth major league game. He already has six hits in 12 at bats. And with that home run, he’s now hit for the cycle in his first five games in the big leagues. Sharply hit but picked on a second hop by Christian Walker. Smooth play by the gold glove first baseman. First game for Kareah and his return to the city he loves so much will feature Alex Bregman as well. Look out. Man, what are we doing out there? We need a little bit better communication, boys. He got him again with the same pitch. What a blue ball. We’re up one going into the ninth. Jock Peterson tied it up on a pitch from Devin Williams that kind of leaked over the inside corner. Little looper in the left coming on Sters. He’ll make the play. That one skyed in the shallow right. Out goes Edwards. In comes Hernandez. And Hernandez puts it away. He’s got to be loving what he’s seeing out of AJ Blue Ball tonight. So far, Blue Ball in three and a third innings has only allowed two hits. Same time. That ball smoked but right there is Raone Aras. Almost clipped AJ Blue Ball. Fortunately, it didn’t. And that’s an out for out number two. Little bit heading my way. Oh yeah. 97 on the edge. AJ Blue Ball looking like a season veteran in his second major league outing. That one’s in right holding up for Hernandez who makes the play. That ball in the right field. Hernandez back. Cam flying out to right for the third time tonight. That one on the edge of the warning track. And Robbie was one of his catchers last time they played. Now he’s the bench coach. This ball puddled to right center field. Back goes Cam Smith. That is gone. Eric Wagaman has himself his sixth home run of the year. Going over the wall in right center. Well, so far four and a third innings. That’s a popup. Can Pena or Kareah get there? Who wants it? Jeremy calls off his mentor Carlos Kareah for the second out in the air. Left field playable. Jesus Sanchez waits for it and puts it away for the final out of the inning. Times two hits his last two at bats. Also drew a walk. Oh, gloved and stepped on the bag. Now Duvet tries to dive back into the bag and he gets tagged out. The rare double play where the fielder doesn’t have to move more than a couple of feet unassisted. Not much of tried to hold up on a pitch in the dirt and Christian goes too far. That’ll end the inning. Hater back to an even count of two a piece. Got him. Josh her. That’s a strike and it’s called a strike by Charlie Ramos. Four. Ground ball to third. Two hops for Carlos Gray. A little slip but it doesn’t bother him. He throws a strike and the Astros have won this one 7 to3. Back-to-back wins here in Miami.
