Rookie Mike Green Impresses in Ravens-Colts Joint Practice | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive
The Baltimore Ravens welcome the Indianapolis Colts to the Under Armour Performance Center today for a highly anticipated joint practice ahead of their preseason opener this Thursday night. Well, it was the first time these teams squared off this summer. It didn’t take long for one Raven in particular to stand out. Rookie outside linebacker Mike Green. Green, the Ravens second round pick out of Marshall, has already been making noise through the early stages of training camp. But today’s performance against a different opponent may have been his most impressive showing yet. In one-on-one drills and team reps, Green flashed the power and explosiveness that made him such a coveted draft prospect this spring. He beat Colts offensive lineman with a mix of speed and strength, disrupting plays in both pass rushing and run stopping situations. His effort and energy just really stood out today. He even had a sack on the Colts final possession of the afternoon. And he’s been the same way on special teams, too. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what the drill is. Mike is going to be relentless. It’s clear that Green is quickly earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. Just a few weeks into camp, Mike is going out there. He’s competing at a high level. You know, Mike can rush. You know, Mike is strong, you know, at the point of attack on the run. And what I like most about Mike, he just gives great effort. You know, when you think of some of the great players around the league, what defines them is great effort. And that that may helps you make a lot of plays within itself. You know, he has a great grasp of the defense. Matt Robinson’s done a fantastic job teaching him in coverage and things like that. And uh he you know when we talk about pass rush you know Mike is all in and um you know Mike Mike is everything he was advertised to be and I think the fans are going to like what they see. He’s twitchy. He’s he’s fast. He’s he’s quiet. You know what I mean? But I can tell he’s just locked in. He’s just ready to go. He’s just ready to rumble and just ready to just get after it. That’s what you want to see as a young rook. You know what I mean? Um very hungry and very patient to wait for his time to go and then when he goes, he’s going to make the most of it. And that’s what he’s doing. Coming into training camp, expectations were high for Green and so far he’s delivered. His grasp of the defense has impressed the coaching staff and despite the typical rookie learning curve, Green hasn’t been overwhelmed. If anything, he’s embraced the grind. I feel like um every every phase of of uh of your career, whether that’s going into high school and that’s going into college and that’s going into the NFL, um you’re you’re going to have things that you have to to overcome and adjust to, of course. Um I I feel like it it’s not there’s no shortcut into adjusting as well. So, it’s like the only thing that’s going to help you is time. And I think the more time I spend here, um, the the better I’m going to get and and, uh, the more comfortable I’m going to be. So, I I think that I’ll just let time uh, take control of that and and everything should be working out fine. As the Ravens prepare to face the Colts on Thursday night, this time under the lights at Mnt Bank Stadium. Eyes will certainly be on Green to see how he carries over his practice success into live game action. And even though it’s a preeason matchup, it’s a crucial opportunity for Green to continue building momentum and make a strong case for a significant role in Baltimore’s defense this season. If today’s practice was any indication, Mike Green is ready for the moment. That’s it for me today. We’ll see you again tomorrow.
Rookie OLB Mike Green felt he had three sacks on three straight plays to close out Tuesday’s practice.

Green is gonna be a monster for the squad. I cannot wait to see the season unfold for Green and Starks.
Green Machine
Might be more excited to see what green can do than starks
Attended the practice.
Colts dominated across the board.
Taylor and Josh Downs did whatever they wanted. I would say the oneβs allowed 10 YPC on the ground and the first team secondary made zero plays outside of Kane.
Only area we βwonβ was kicking. I did not see the special teams drills though but heard they returned a kick to the house.
Their rookie safety picked off both Lamar and Leary in back to back 2 minute drills.
Overall, we looked overmatched and outphysicaled.
Josh Downs would also be by far the best receiver on our team, he is awesome.
