Yankees vs. Rangers Game Highlights (8/5/25) | MLB Highlights

Obviously the Yankees sputtering of late trying to find their way out of it and they get as big a reinforcement as you possibly can with Aaron Judge returning today. Aaron Judge is the preeminent right handed batter of his generation, maybe of all time. It’s not only a huge lift just numerically, it’s a huge lift emotionally for the Yankees. These are the throws where judge hurt himself in Toronto today. He DH he’ll start throwing tomorrow and they’ll see where he can take it from there. Nathan Aldi has been incredible for the Rangers. It’s very hard to hit, very hard to score runs off of is getting better with age, is mixing it up more than he ever has his 22 and a swing and a high fly ball. Center field. Langford has a read on it and he makes the catch one away bouncer , second base high for Seon, they’ll throw to first and that takes care of rice. Here is the captain, he’s back. Aaron Judge leading the American League in multiple offensive categories. How about these numbers? 12 for 34 against Eovaldi with a home run of 353 batting average. Judge has come through all of his with the elbow feeling good on his swings. Aaron Boone saying no concern about it affecting him as he swings a swing and a Miss Eovaldi strikes out judge to complete a 123 1st inning. The first pitch swinging Simeon drills one his 15th double in a two out base runner for Texas Garcia 225 batting average with 16 homers, 18th pitch of the inning coming here for Will Warren swing on a hit to the shortstop. Went on the leg of takes a little bit low on the but an easy for you can chop up the numbers. However you like with Eovaldi, Tarik Skubal is having a huge year but once Eovaldi gets to the qualifying mark, you make a really strong argument. He’s the best in the game. Batters hitting 196 against him and his strikeouts, walk the lead and this is popped up third base side. Long run for Smith. He goes into a slide and makes the catch. What a play. What a clever play, a long slide like he’s in the backyard of the slipping slide and timed it perfectly. Here’s Volpe Yankees trying to get a baserunner against Eval Volpi back liner that’s going to make its way into left field first base runner of the game. Volpe is going for two and he is in there with a hustle double impressive and this is out of the box. You can see he’s watching and thinking right now. Wait a minute. Do I got it? Yeah, I’m gonna take a chance and yes he is in there and safe two out base runner first hit for the Yankees yesterday, the Yankees were three for 15 with runners in scoring position. Bouncer right side of the infield, fires it over to Eovaldi. They get Grisham and the inning is over. But if you want to take the entire expansion hour from 1961 on one of the lowest, er, A S in American League history, Eovaldi would be the fifth lowest. Well, this is, can’t miss right here. Eovaldi. You just went through the numbers. Aaron Judge the best in the game. We get to watch this match up right here. He struck him out with the splitter. The last at bat we’ve seen fastball in now we’ve seen the softer curveball below the zone. The 12 got him swaying once again on the splitter. What a great job of pitching setting up the splitter. The first strike was fastball in taken by judge the nets pitch, the slower curveball at 78 miles an hour out in front and Then he goes with the splitting that looks just like the fastball, but it dips below the zone and takes five miles an hour off. Jack Peterson leads off as Peterson rips that down the right field line and off the wall Ballinger having to chase after it and Jack Peterson starting to heat up here for Texas. A leadoff double third straight inning that the Rangers have had a runner on second. Nobody out. They at 1st and 2nd, nobody out and the second didn’t score. They had runner on second. Nobody out in the third didn’t score. And that was after josh Smith’s leadoff double will Warren having to go back to work right here. Crowded is short. BPE looked at third now. fires to first one down infield in for Rowdy Toles popped up left side of the infield Mcmahon. There makes the catch for the second out and Peterson has to hold at third. Warren one out away from a gaping again. He zero for nine with runners in scoring position so far he got. How about will Warren gave up the leadoff double retires. The next three has held the rangers to 0 to 10 with runners in scoring position. Nathan Eovaldi faces 23 and four in the Yankees order here in the top of the seventh. Nothing, nothing to score Yankees with just one hit. There’s a bouncer up the middle sliding stop Seeger good throw to first and they get rice more good defense tonight. This was beautiful from Seeger. Here here’s Aaron Judge. One swing of the bat could win this game. You got to be careful here. One in a broken bat roller shortstop. Seeger’s throw plenty of time. Two down a great job from Eovaldi against a judge. So far tonight one more out and I would love to see this crowd explode for Nathan Eovaldi and what he’s doing in this game, Ballinger. The hitter bouncer, second base , easy play semi a 12, 3/7 inning oval is his seven shutout. Well, in 2023 the Rangers were looking for a big game in the middle game of the series against the Yankees and it was a shutout from Eovaldi IVO looks pretty similar tonight. To be honest, you can even say he might look better tonight. This has been special. He’s faced one over the minimum. The only guy to get on Volpe with that bloop into left field. Third inning. There’s a swing and a miss and he strikes out Chisholm on three pitches. He’s getting better as the game goes on. You do know jugglers. You could say this is Picasso. Picasso’s a great artist. I scare you that much. There’s a ground ball. Second base. Simeon throws out dominguez 1/9 pitch, eighth inning stand up. Let’s go tell this man that he’s excellent at what he does. Eovaldi 81 hit shutout innings and Williams has walked the bases Bones looking like he’s going to make a move here. Still looking back as of now, Williams is staying in to face Teles. But why do you have bear up right now if you’re not going to use him in this spot, bases loaded one out, you would just have to think that given his recent struggles that Williams is not pitching with the utmost of confidence right now, these two teams both very critical games in the wild card race, one out bases loaded full count. Now they’re coming to their feet , 10th pitch of the at bat and it’s left to center that’s down base hit two runs headed to the plate and the Rangers and long have the lead and it’s a two nothing Rangers lead as Williams gives it up again. Phil Maan will try to finish this one off in the ninth. This one is hit sharply into right field. A base hit for Mcmahon here is Stanton pinch hitting for Volpe as the tying run and there’s a ground ball sharply to shortstop Seeger from his knees to second one on the first double play. What a turn Seeger having a great game defensively makes a huge play here. That is just the second time this year that Stanton has rolled into a double play. Yankees are down to their final out of the night and Grisham the 12 got him singing. Make time puts the finishing touches on a two nothing Rangers win over the Yankees.

  1. I'm so glad to see Rowdy Tellez bring in the winning runs. I know he is no super star, but I think he is an unsung hero. I have always loved him as a player.
Fantastic win over the Yankees again. Let's get the sweep tomorrow.
    LET'S GO RANGERS!!! ❤❤ 🇨🇦

  2. I'm not a yankees hater or fan but i've been watching highlights the past week just to see what crazy thing their bullpen does

  3. Nathan Eovaldi sounds like a symphony conductor. He sure played the heck out of the Yankees "5th loss symphony suite". It hit all the right notes, AND it so happens that it is my favorite symphony suite of all !!!😂

  4. Not happy that Rangers manager Bochy did not let Eovaldi pitch in the 9th. Lucky we got that double play ball…otherwise Judge could have tied it w one swing! The guy gave up one hit in 8 innings….what are you thinking Bruce?
