4. Literally Ekholm, Kulak, Stu all equal more than Sorokin and have no trade protection. You guys are just intellectually lazy or dishonest, I can’t tell which one yet but it’s obvious none of you have the capacity to see past personal affection for local products. Successful markets don’t operate on this sort of pretence. From huberdeau to Fleury to Stamkos etc the winning organizations make tough decisions to IMPROVE and WIN not hope and wish.

14. I really don't think the Oilers need to add more players. They have six goalies in their system, and most if not all of them have played professionally. They also have several NHL calibre forwards and a couple defencemen playing professionally in Europe, and some of these guys have the potential to be good or even very good NHL players. They need to give theses these players a shot at filling out the roster.

15. The Oilers should get Kessel out of retirement — that would make me laugh for the entire season and ensure that the Oilers have a quick and early exit from the playoffs!! LOL

16. James Reimer is the signing they should make. Had a great season last year in Buffalo, and he's cheap. $1M or less×1. Upgrade on Pickard, veteran backup, and midseason trade is still possible.

    Makes me wonder, what other deals are the Oilers gonna sit on so long they vanish? They had next to no movement on free agent day. Not much since. And we still have the same problems, but with less players now. I heard J Skinner also left and signed with the Sharks. We're bleeding people, but not making any moves ourselves. Bowman better have one hell of a blockbuster deal in the works, otherwise I'm not liking where the next year is heading.

I think skinner may turn out to be an elite goalie, i understand we are on a bit of a connor clock but skinner has so much exp for him being in the league for 3 years. i'm not sure anything under 5m is an upgrade, which leaves 5-6 goalies in the entire league that would be better for us than skinner

26. Oilers traded Kane to Van and couldn’t squeeze Silovs outta the deal and Pit got him for a 7th and a prospect.

27. 50 million for four players is not a winning recipe in a cap world. To win in the playoffs you need depth as Florida has proven. You can’t have success without depth in the playoffs as retreads and plugs won’t do it. Regular season yes but playoffs no.
