  1. This is the only trade I wasn’t happy about. He’s doing great, but Kolek and Bergert seemed a bit steep of a price for Fermin.

  2. Also Quick as a cat, threw out a base runner already. Groomed behind All-Star Salvador Perez… & now he gets to play full-time catcher for the Pads

  3. Fermin and Laureano have been killer so far. Hoping we see more of O’hearn, soon, he needs more reps, laureano shook off his drought after a couple games, O’Hearn hasnt had the same opportunity.

  4. Honestly I was pissed to see we lost Bergert and Kolek for him, but I was wrong. Defensively it’s night and day. His framing is elite and he has a cannon. He’s also all muscle and seems built to play every day.

He gives solid, professional at bats and has speed. I would like to see if he can tap into his power potential if he starts trying to pull the ball and take advantage of the short porch, but that’s probably something we won’t see until next year.

With the prices of catchers skyrocketing, this was a great deal for a cost controlled guy for 4 more seasons.

  5. You guys better treat this man like the angel/dawg that he is. Give him the opportunity we never could.

  6. I will miss Bergert and Kolek, but finding a reliable catcher has been difficult for Preller. I think he might finally have found our catcher for the next 4+ years. In his small sample size he has really impressed me.

  7. Is Diaz starting because he’s not ramped up to the full pitching staff yet or what?
