Orioles vs. Phillies Game Recap (8/6/25) | MLB Highlights | Baltimore Orioles
Back here at Citizens Bank Park as Ranger Suarez takes the mound and getting set to try to sweep out the Baltimore Orioles. His numbers for the year. 17th start, 8 and4 2.68 erra. Wind up in the 10. And it’s swung on. Hit in the air to left. Towards the line goes Wilson. He’s going to get near the line. Crossing over the foul line. Makes the catch. There’s a 123 start for Rangers. Suarez will go to the bottom of the first. It’s the red hot Trevor Rogers. Yeah, the best the Orioles have in Trevor Rogers making his 10th start of the year. And my gosh, has he been good. How about his last five starts, folks? A 1.05 erra at ball four. Good start for the fight. So, here’s one of the two big lefties, Kyle Schwarber and the National League home run leader. It’s a soft ground ball to Westber and the Orioles turn two. A rarity, just the second ground ball double play Kyle Schwarber into this season and he got a couple of left on left change ups. Yep. Here’s Harper swinging the ground ball through the left side. There’s a base hit for Harper as he singles the other way. That’ll bring up Nick Castanos. 269 hitter with 15 home runs. 3-2 pitch swing and a miss. He struck him out on high heat. There’s a little octane right there against Castianos. Harrison Bader leads off for the Phillies here in the bottom of the second inning. Strike three taken right down the middle. Bader looking for something else. And Rogers has his second strikeout. And now it’ll bring Edmundo Sosa up to the plate. Here’s a swing and a ground ball through the left side. A base hit. And when Edundo Sosa plays second base, he just gets hits. There’s Weston Wilson. Pitch to Wilson is right there. And Wilson is cast away on a fast ball from Trevor Rogers. Bookend looking strikeouts here in the second. So once through the cart, two singles, a walk, and three strikeouts for Trevor Rogers. Struggling Turner just four for his last 40. There’s a line drive out toward left center field and it’s going to scoot to the warning track and out toward the wall. Turner’s around second heading to third and he’ll be held up there. Colton Cowser did a good job of tracking that down because Dylan Carlson took a chance. It’s a triple for Trey. It’s his fourth of the year. Boy, did that ever get dangerous as well. With the speed of Trey Turner on a ball that was sinking quickly into left center field, Carlson went into a slide with a glove hand extended. Couldn’t trap it. Couldn’t get it to the turf and it shot quickly behind him. And now runner at third, one out for Kyle Schwber. And there’s a strike out on another change up. So Rogers got Schwber to roll into a double play on a lefton left change up and now uses that to strike him out. And a big strike out for Trevor Rogers. How will he handle Rice Harbor? Bounding ball towards the middle. Hustling to his right. Backhanded stop by Holiday. Quick exchange onto first in time to get the out. And Turner’s triple left at third base. And we stay scoreless through three. Gunnar Henderson is strolling to the plate. He’ll lead it off. It’ll be Henderson. Adley Rushman. Jeremiah Jackson. Chopped through the left side. There’s the base hit. So Henderson goes to the opposite field with two strikes. And the Orioles have a leadoff single for the second time. Love it. Love that swing. Get yourself down two strikes, man. Let the ball get deep. Respect the change up and then be on time for the fast ball. He was on time and shoots it right down the third baseline. Here’s Adley Rutman. Rutman singled his first time up. There’s a weak ground ball that tipped off of Suarez’s glove. And Rutman is safe at first. Sosa charging in from second, but the ball hit Suarez’s glove right on the end of it. And that basically stopped it in the grass. So two aboard to start the inning. The Orioles with their best chance in a while. Here’s Jeremiah Jackson. And he’s not going to try one here. He rips it fair into the left field corner. The Orioles get on the board for the first time since Monday as Jackson doubles in Henderson. Jeremiah Jackson with his first big league extra base hit. His first big league RBI and it’s a one- nothing lead in Philadelphia. Well, forget about that sacrifice bunt. How about the first double of the season? And boy, Jeremiah Jackson wasting no time at all. So, one run in and now second and third and nobody out. Kobe Mayo the batter. Kobe Mayo on the next pitch. A long fly ball to left field and Mayo smashes a three-run home run. He absolutely leaned on it. Orioles hadn’t scored in 18 innings in this series, but that all changed real quick here in the fourth. How about a four spot already? Has this game ever flipped? It started as a pitcher duel and then within the span of four batters, the Orioles went from putting pressure on Suarez and the Orioles have a four nothing lead here in the fourth. Rogers gives out his second walk, sending up Raphael Maron the other way. Base hit it to right field. Wilson is around second heading to third. The throw by Jackson not in time. Well, Weston didn’t even look. He just put his head down and said, “I’m going.” And that’s a that’s a brave move with down four. And here come the Phillies out of the bottom of the order. And there are runners on the corners with nobody out for the Phillies. And the top of the order is coming up. That one’s out towards center field. Coming on as Carl City won’t get there. Wilson will score. It’s an RBI single for Trey. And the Phillies are on the board. It’s a 4-1 game. And the tying run is coming to the plate. And guess who it is? Kyle Schwarber. All right. snaps the scoreless streak for Rogers at 10 innings dating back to the second inning in Chicago Friday. Struck him out again on the change up. The great equalizer, Trevor Rogers with three outs against Schwarber on three devastating change ups. And when you get Kyle Schwarber to strike out and walk back to the dugout and stare at you like that, that’s a really good pitch. And now it’s Harper representing the tying run of the plane. We’ll hit a ground ball to second. Got a chance for two. High flip from Holiday. It’s bobbled on the transfer and the Orioles do not complete it. Oh, that extends the inning for Nick Castanos. 02 coming. Ground ball, shortstop hole. Not an easy play. Or is it? It’s all easy for Gunnar Henderson. Wow. Do it, Gunner. My gosh, has he been good. How about this backhand side Gunner Henderson from the parking lot, folks. And he gets him over at third base. Trevor Rogers is fired up. Bottom of the sixth inning, Phillies trail it by three. Harrison Bader will lead it off. Swinging a line drive towards Cowser in deep left field. Lopes back through the warning track. Leaps at the wall, crashes into the fence and hangs on. He pulls it down, crunches into the wall, and then took a staggering step while holding on to the baseball. Trevor Rogers certainly appreciates that. And there’s two out traffic for the Phillies. But yeah, Trevor Rogers, this is an out you have to have. goes to the change up. Little half swing to short. Henderson to first and Trevor Rogers gets through six strong innings again. Ranger Suare is about to begin the seventh inning here at Citizens Bank Park and he will face the bottom of the Orioles order. Jackson to the left side. That’s a hit. Here we go again. Alex Jackson. Nine Orioles hits. All nine for extra bases. This guy’s amazing. The boy only knows extra base hits. That’s all he knows. Sixth double of the season. And Jackson Holiday is coming up. Holiday swings and he grounds it through the right side. A base hit. Jackson being waved to the plate by Buck Britain. Throw up from Kasanos on the fly is cut off by the first baseman Harper. The run scores with Jackson tapping the plate. Jackson Holiday will drive it in. And it’s 5 to1 Baltimore here in the seventh. And they will end the afternoon for Ranger Suarez. Some big hits. Knock out one of the Phillies big arms. Well, there is Dietri making his ninth appearance split between Detroit and the Orioles. Line drive down the left field line. It’s a fair ball off the half wall and Turner’s on his way to second base and he’s there with his third hit of the day. He’s a home run away from the cycle which would be magical to do it have his first home run at Sus Bank work. Kyle Schwarber was dominated by the lefty Rogers. A game that can change in a hurry with this middle of the lineup. And Schwarber with a half swing and a full miss. A cutter from Dietrich Ends. A nasty one for a strike out. One away. That’ll bring up Bryce Harper is one for three. Harper’s down on a foul tip. Harper and Schwarber now a combined 0 for six with runners in scoring position as Ends strikes out the two big bats. I tell you what, Ner, he just steps on 95 right here and I mean places it perfectly up and away. brings up Nick Castanos. A fast ball right down the middle for strike three. How about Dietrich Ends a leadoff double by Trey Turner and then he slams the door in Philadelphia striking out Schwarber Harper and Castanos. Going to the bottom of the ninth. Phillies one last chance at a rally here today. They trail the Orioles 5 to one. But Maron reaches on a free pass and it brings up Trey Turner who again is a home run shy of the cycle. Ground ball to shortstop. Got a chance. Henderson Holiday Mayo. It’s a game- ending double play behind three left-handed pitchers. Trevor Rogers, Dietrich Ends, and Keegan Akin. The Orioles will leave Philadelphia with a win in the series finale as they clip the Phillies 5 to one.
Trevor Rogers and the Baltimore Orioles take on Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies on 8/6/25.

Rogers is legit. Not sure who won the stowers trade but this is turning out better than it started.
I prefer this channel's videos over MLB. I hate to hear the other teams commentary. GO O'S!
Imagine what we'll get for Rogers at next years trade deadline!
