I love this woman already.

Sheryl, now a Las Vegas resident, said she is a Houston native who used to listen to Astros’ games on the radio, later attending games at the Astrodome. I suspect Tuesday’s contest might be her most memorable Astros’ moment, yet. Not only did Sheryl snag a home-run ball, but the ball she received was actually Marsee’s first-career home run. A trade between the two might now ensue.

"I have this ball. I would like a signed ball and bat, if possible," Sheryl said. "Let’s get it done, Marsee."

  1. That’s awesome. Never heard of that kid before the series, but he was playing his heart out.

  2. I watched this on the Marlins broadcast. Hader caught it and tossed it up to her…I doubt he knew it was a first mlb HR.

First a fan tried to buy it off her, then Bracamonte tried to negotiate it from her, then the Marlins execs showed up.

Her ask was very modest. I hope she got it.

  3. This is one of those moments where the love of the game is always more important than any specific team affiliations & I love hearing stories like this. From what I hear a signed ball/bat is a common exchange in cases like this. I am glad he will have this ball to cherish forever. 🫶

I know if it was a fan of an opposing team who caught a special Astros ball, I’d appreciate seeing that same kindness. 💛

  4. “what are you doing at this baseball game as an Astros fan?”

    quality interviewing right there

  5. Mariners fan who caught Yordan’s cycle ball gave it back to him with no expectation of rewards but got a reward anyway. No doubt the team would have rewarded her without negotiation out of appreciation. Our fans need to do better. 1000% dying on that hill.

Edit: now if it was for example Judge’s AL record breaking HR ball, I’m holding that for a king’s ransom.
