  1. PADRES Acquired RP Mason Miller, JP Sears and OF Ramon Laureano From Oakland A’s
PADRES Acquired Ryan O’Hearn and Ramon From Orioles
    PADRES Receive Catcher Freddy Fermin
Kansas City Royals Receive RHP Ryan Bergert RHP Stephen Kolek

  2. Late night thoughts. Now that Mike Shildt finally has a complete roster, we can judge 2nd half Mike Shildt by how well this trem plays over the next two months.

Also I believe Ryan O'hern is our new Tanner Scott, the Padres Will squeeze every ounce of play and performance they can out of him, then he'll sign a big contract with the Dodgers next year and immediately have a bad season and suck.😂

  3. Thank you guys for wonderful covering of the deadline. You guys were right all along, with Jim saying what positions he would have filled, and Preller came through. Jon, saying to keep Cease, despite his struggles. So, JP Sears will replece Cease when he becomes a free agent; I think Suarez would be traded for salary relief and get prospects; and even Cronenworth might get the Padres some good prospects too. Go Padres…& and Chargers 😊

  4. This has to be one of the best padres teams assembled . I was looking at our roster from the playoffs and we literally upgraded every position we lost last year ! LF catcher DH relievers even closer .

  5. This reminds me of when the Denver Broncos went all in on Peyton Manning to win a Super Bowl at the expense of drafting a QB for the future. Let’s hope it pays off.

  6. I am a dodgers fan but I watch you guys everyday just because I love your knowledge and analysis of the game. Really wish you guys were our postgame show. You are truly awesome and I hope Padre fans appreciate you!!!

  7. This reminds me of the fight between Thanos and IronMan in Infinity War. IronMan went all out on Thanos, then Thanos says…."All that for a drop of blood?"

  8. Keeping Cease was the right move because it helps the team THIS year. He's gunna walk in free agency but they will have Musgrove coming in to replace him. And if they can work out an extension with Suarez they have the option to stretch Miller into a starter, and if they lose Suarez they still have an All-Star closer to fill that roll. Giving up Leo feels like a lot but he's not a part of this window to win and that's what matters most. The other moves were huge, upgrading the catcher position with a guy who is even better defensively and not a massive hole in the lineup. Sears and Cortes are great depth pieces for the rotation down the stretch. And bringing in O'hearn and Laureano in one deal is going to be huge. Gavin Sheets has been really good for the Padres this year but bringing in those two guys takes a ton of pressure off Sheets to just continue to be a solid bat when he's in the lineup or off the bench. Watch out for Merrill and Tatis to get red hot down the stretch with all this help coming to the lineup.
