5. Even when Skenes isn't at his sharpest, he's just so powerful and has such a crazy spin rate on all his pitches – he's damn hard to hit even when he's missing. Sometimes even harder to hit because it's so unpredictable.

7. This game is a flash of what this team really could be. Hoping we'll see this Pirates team come out more often come next season and onwards, what a fun group of guys.

12. Paul Skenes is the weirdest pitcher I’ve ever seen tbh. Just everything strikes me as weird. Left handed batter. The first pitch could be a changeup and it’ll be low for a ball. The second could be a fastball that is WAYYYY high and outside. I mean In the right handed batters box. The third will be another changeup to make it 2-1. He will throw a fourth pitch on another high and outside fastball to get a chase swing and miss. The fifth pitch will be a sweeper either hit foul or for a ball, and then then he’ll throw a 99mph fastball on the low and inside corner. It’s just so odd because he throws SO many pitches every AB. Would it be called erratic, effectively wild? Because he is getting out of these outings with little to no damage. I mean he gets hit around a lot. People always seem to be on base, but he manages to escape them. I don’t mean weird in a bad way, but usually pitchers want to get in the zone and expand and it seems he’s expanded and crunches. Just never seen it before really

13. Thie reds team is not making the playoffs sadly we aren't anywhere near ready nor anywhere close to a championship team

16. Paul Skenes had a remarkable outing today. Pirates offense contributed today, so raise the jolly roger 🏴‍☠️

17. I miss Ke'Bryan in a Pirates jersey it looks weird to see him in Cincy red. Skenes pitched a gem tonight and the offense backed him up 👏🏿👏🏿🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
