Highlights from ALL games on 8/7 (Mariners walk it off!)

Logan pitched around that leadoff walk in the second and retired the next three guys. He had a one, two, three. Top of the first inning, wind up and the one-two pitch. Swing and a miss for strike three. That is strikeout number four for Logan Gilbert. Is the pitch on the way. Strike three called. Taylor’s got lucky. Strike out number five. And Crawford gets aboard with a leadoff signal. Here we go. That’s what I like to see. First man on. Here’s Randy Rosaretta. Yeah, there’s a chance of that. We’ve seen Randy find a second deck in this home stand to left field and gone. Randy Rosarena has put the Mariners on the board. He has mashed a careerhigh is 23rd home run. Boy, they they are magic with that long ball, aren’t they? All the way through top to bottom. These guys are electric. Everybody can leave the yard in a hurry. So, two away. Here comes Naylor again. Bottom of the third. The pitch swinging a ground ball right to the second baseman up for the ball to Sosa. Easy throw to first in time and that will retire the side. Well, this is not a great sign. Donovan Solano is in at first base. So, you were talking about how Naylor was looking on those swings and he is out of the game now for Logan Gilbert on the mound. The most pitches he has thrown since the All-Star break in a ball game 88. So, he is creeping up on that mark. One hit for the White Socks. Robert double in the fourth in the air to left field. Rosarena backing up at the wall and this one is gone. Mike Taylor back-to- back ball games with a home run and he gets the socks on the board. Brooks Baldwin starts off the seventh. This game is up for grabs. 2-1 Seattle. 1-1 hit in the air out in the deep right way back there and it is gone to tie the game. Brooks Baldwin. Baldwin hits it. He hits it hard and high. Just a question of if it was going to carry and just over the glove of Canzone and the bases are loaded for Carol with two outs in the 10th inning. 02 and it gets by and the socks grab the lead. Sosa scores. So Miles Mastroy batting in the number two spot. Cal Raleigh is out of this game. Randy Rosarena is the runner at second base. Bunted to third onto first. It’s air mailed by Rohos and Arosa comes home to score. This game is tied. The free runner is Suarez on at second base. The winning run. The left on left up with Kzone through the right side. Base hit. Gino’s on his way home. The throw to the plate. Safe. And the Mariners win. They complete the sweep. Don Kanzone game winner for Yuri Perez. A 166 average against him and in 50 innings he’s only given up two home runs. One to a lefty, one to a righty. Facing a lefty here and Drake Baldwin. Baldwin sends one soaring high in the air to deep right field. Got a shot and that is out of here. Drake Baldwin hit one a mile high to deep right center. It’s his 12th homer of the year. 404 ft and he gives up a home run to this lefty and Drake Baldwin. One- nothing Braves. Here’s Marcelo Zuna. How about Marcelo Zuna? Maybe thinking back to back. Yes sir. A big fly. And there are two in scoring position for Jacob Marci to open the top of the second as he swings here and he pops one into shallow left. Could be trouble. Proofar coming out. He won’t get it. It’s an RBI base knock to the opposite field for Jacob Marcy. Here’s Eric Wagman who’s coming around. That one hit in the air out to right center. That’s deep. That’s carrying well. Harris is back at the track. He leaps up. He opens the bullpen door and that’s off the wall. It carums back into center. Wagaman pushes to third. A two-run triple for Wag attack and the answer back inning is complete. Marlins are a homer shy of hitting for the cycle here in the second. There’s one away and here comes the hometown kid Graham Paulie. That one hit well out to right and deep down the line. White on the move. He’s looking up and it’s gone into the chop house. Graham Paulie and the Marlins are unloading on Cookie Carrasco. Hey, and they fit for the cycle in the inning. Well, Baldwin started the scoring tonight for Atlanta. Swung on and belted high and deep to right field headed for the Braves bullpen and gone. And for the first time in his career, a multi homer game. And yes, all smiles as he should be. Now the tying run is in scoring position. The go-ahead runs at first and Baldwin would have to be the man that they fear the most after watching him tonight. Ground ball left side finds a hole. Base hit is through to left field. That’s going to tie the game. Drake Baldwin. What a night for the rookie. Marcelo Zuna is the batter. Base hit could give the Braves the lead. Proofar takes off. Slow roller to short. Double clutch and the throw gets by Wagam. That’s going to give the Braves a lead. It’s in the camera. Well, Rice Glacius will try to get the save here on a Thursday night. Got him. Swinging strike three as they come from behind and steal this one for the Marlins. Thomas the right-handed hitter. No homers and an RBI in 31 at bats. This one to center field going back is Jacob Young. That ball has carry and the first home run in the books for Kobby Thomas. Get that ball back. More importantly, an early lead for the A’s. It’s two to nothing. Flip it over to Shay Langalers. One of the hottest hitters right now for the Athletics. Here it comes. This one in play high in the air center field. Jacob Young to the ball. Orius waiting to tie. He goes. Here’s the throw home. It’s going to get cut off. A sacrifice fly. Shay Langalers adds another for the A’s. It’s three to nothing. A fantastic get back from Shay Langalers. You talk a lot about efficiency and you want Lopez to be able to attack these hitters, especially when he’s getting ahead in the count so frequently and that’s why I mentioned Jacob Lopez being able to settle in after getting some offensive support. And if he can do that, which feels like he has for the most part, he can continue to cruise. Tyler Sodstrom leading off the eighth. PJ Puland still out there. That swung a drive to deep right field going back hassle to third and it’s gone. Tyler Soderstrom with a home run. And the A’s lead it five to nothing for Tyler. His 21st of the year and his 67th RBI. Good to see Jacob Lopez still out there and throwing here in the eighth inning. Pitch 17. And he got him. Jacob Lopez uses 17 pitches to strike out Nathaniel Low for his ninth strikeout today. Has allowed just three base runners today. A swing and a miss. That is now doubledigit strikeouts for Jacob Lopez. Mark Cay going to come out and get the left-hander. A job well done by Jacob Lopez. A careerhigh day for Jacob Lopez. 10 strikeouts. And I love the standing O. What work he did and it was a lot of work. The scoreless inning streak continues. First and third now nobody out. That’ll bring up the big Amish. Here’s the pitch and to second base. The slide from Garcia. He’ll get the out at second. run coming across. Stan Curts will add the RBI. 6 nothing Green and Gold. The Pirates tonight, it’s going to be Paul SK. When you look at the Pirates schedule, you almost want to circle every fifth day. Highlight it. This guy is worth the price of admission. Swinging and a miss. He struck him out with a change up that he’s used a bunch recently. That’s 155ks on the season for skins. That change up. Brian Reynolds two for 10 in his career against Brady Singer. Three 0 pitch is driven the left pretty deep. Hayes back track clear the deck and anchor down ball coming to left oppo for bay his 11th and it’s one- nothing Pirates in the first inning now Jared Triola yeah this is when as a pitcher you are on your own the one-two pitch line drive up the middle of base hit Cruz scores scores to third throw to second triolo safe Pirates lead three to nothing Singer got the first two and a home run has been followed by a bevy of walks and a smoke ball up the middle. Now batting for the Red’s third baseman number three Ke Brian Haye. Wow, what a moment. Unbelievable. That’s why Pittsburgh is so great. Hard ground ball is through base hit. Drafted by the Pirates first round at 15. His entire big league career came as a pirate. He is 14-0 when getting three runs of support in his career. That’s called third strike. Outside corner 99 miles an hour. That’s number five for Ski. See Paul SK’s reaction. He was happy with that one. Swing and a miss. He struck him out with a change up. Six strikeouts for SK. Four scoreless. Four nothing Pirates. Skines out there. You struck out seven including de la Cruz in the third inning. Swinging a miss. Struck him out. 98. That’s number eight. And he basically is looking for two more outs for his night to give the Pirates six innings. Popped up center field. Cruz. He will glove it. Six more shut out innings for the amazing Paul SK and he’ll lead to a standing ovation and a little tip of the cap. He’s unbelievable. Pirates lead 5 nothing. Two and two runner at first base for the Pirates. Henry Davis with a single. High drive to left field way back to the wall and clear the deck. Cannonball coming. Oh, Henry. His fifth. 7 nothing Pirates. For more on these and other stories, keep it locked to mlb.com. It’s baseball everywhere.
