Yadier Molina will be in uniform for the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend against the Chicago Cubs. No, this is not a joke. Hey, it’s JD from Locked on Cardinals. And according to multiple sources, including Derek Gold from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Molina is set to be in uniform in the dugout for two games this weekend as an assistant coach against the Cubs per invitation from manager Ali Marmal. Molina is in St. Louis for an appearance in signing this weekend. And over the past few months, he and the Cardinals discuss what exactly he could do at the ballpark during his visit. And this is what has been decided upon. And I think everybody’s going to be really excited about this. First time he’s going to be in uniform with the Cardinals since retiring back in 2022. Uh we all know about his interest in managing in the big leagues at some point. Many fans would love to see him be the manager of the Cardinals as soon as possible. Ali said, “It’s the right thing to do for our players, our staff, and our fan base. I think it’s an incredible gesture on behalf of Ali to have him there knowing that Yachti could be the guy replacing him at some point in the future, perhaps as early as next year if Him Bloom feels so inclined.
