Angels vs. Tigers Game Highlights (8/8/25) | MLB Highlights
It’s a beautiful evening here in downtown Detroit fans filing in on a Friday night to watch Tale take on the Angels leading his Tigers out of the dugout, all eyes around the ballpark and get some two of them now because that’ll be a treasure because Terre Sel starts and it seems like every time we see him something special could happen, maybe it doesn’t always happen, but you watch every single pitch and you just, you Marvel at the Excellence and the consistency. Oh, this is a match up to circle based on the happenings out in Los Angeles. Zack started the game with a home run off of finishes him off with 99 up. Skubal goes up in the zone. 99 just beats him with a heater after that changeup down. That’s not fair 0 to 2 on shot as Scoble fires this one lined to left charging in Riley Green and he makes the catch two outs here in the first, the three time MVP Mike Trout closing in on 400 prime for a big series as he tries to get to 400 here in Detroit, three one from Skubal swinging a hard hit like drive and zack Mckinstry reels it in 23, 35 year old veteran professor on the mound for the halos making his 22nd assignment of the year kyle Hendricks throwing the ball real well. He’ll sneak that 8588 mile an hour fastball by a 2 to 4. Seamer, really good changeup and occasional curveball. The two, it’s a three pitch strikeout to start the night for Hendrick as well. So full count carry, Carpenter waits on deck and the next pitch and that is in there struck him out. So back to back strikeouts, one swinging one looking and to go quickly, Carpenter will be the next batter in the bottom of the first inning. Here’s the next delivery and that is a chase and a Miss and Kyle Hendricks ends up striking out the side 123 here in the bottom of the first and there are two away for Skop in the second and the batter will be chopper. That’s going to be tough plays just eats it and that will be a two out infield hit. Oh, Hoppy is the batter he’s trying to get his bat going. There’s a pitch low and Rengifo now breaks for second and is able to dive in head first safely. Got the hand on the bag 10 to Logan is cranked up and hit into the corner and left. That’s going to get the angels on the board O’hoppe on his way to second one nothing halos back to back changeups, first ones in the dirt. So he makes the adjustment and this one is center cut and O’hoppe on it hits it hard down in that left field corner, the 22 and there’s another one. The first strike three, second strikeout for skubal ends the second. The Angels take the lead. Spencer Toson will lead off the Tiger second against Kyle Hendricks who struck out the side in the first inning that one back and gone to homer the last time he faced Kyle Hendricks and Anaheim first time he faces him in Detroit ties the game with number 20 five. We talked about how you have to be patient against kyle Hendrix. You will get something to hit, but if you’re too aggressive against him, he will abuse you. Well, torque got a change up mill of his own and didn’t miss it, hit it. A ton Tigers have runners at 2nd and 3rd 0 to 2 on Baez Jets. Put the Tigers ahead. He swings and a floater to left long run for Taylor Warren. He will not get it green scores but kids three scores and J Baez with a two run single to left Tigers lead it 31. Well, after you score that one run against, you think, ok, that’s going to have to last for quite a while and Then the Tigers come right back and score three here and a smash off the bat of Colt Keith. Good play by Christian Moore to prevent any further damage. However, Tigers get on the board for three. Kylie Hendrix is back to work in a 3 to 1. Tigers lead labor Torres leading off with a long drive to deep center field Teodosio back there making the catch while he tumbles at the wall. I hope he’s ok. It looked like he right before he got the wall. I don’t know if it was, his leg took a weird step and it gave out on him. Oh, no. You know, this young guy getting a chance to play playing very well. No way does he want to come out of this game? He’s going to stay in the game. It looks like too gone. Now, logo Hopi doubled first time up against, I’m gonna throw by in the gets trapped at second Dylan Dengler up ball down to second base where the Angels lately have been having a lot of outs on the bases and that’s how this top of the fourth comes to an end. It looks like he is going to have to come out of the game and Gustavo Campero takes over in right field that moves joe Adell into center. Here’s the next pitch and that is a chase and a foul tip it’s held by O’hoppe. That’ll be a strikeout to end the inning one out one on and Campero will get ready for his first at bat. Tonight hitting out of Teodosio spot Campero with a swing and a drive, a ball will hit to left and that one’s going to go a nonstarter. Gustavo Campero has tied it at three. Nothing compares to Campero on that swing. Look at that, I mentioned he’s got some pop in his bat. Scuba had to challenge him and 96 mile an hour fastball upstairs and just like that, we have a Thai ball game. There’s some arms moving around in the Tigers bullpen a lot earlier than they’re used to doing it on behalf of SBA. There’s another one will hit. They go back to back. Neo goes deep and the Angels are back on top in this ball game up by a run. It’s now 43, 2nd time this season. Netto has homered against skubal , 10 home runs in 141 innings this year. No back to backs and now back to back, stunning, barely even begins to cover it. One, two, doubled up on the fastball and Trout’s going to have an infield single, a jam shot that just died in the grass and that’s going to be a knockout blow on ball. Shortest start of the year. The first time this year that ball has not gotten through at least 51 to one. The count on Neto dangerous hitter at the plate. His home run flipped the score to the Angels. The go ahead home run. He lines this one down the left field line. Riley Green charging dive. Oh my goodness. Riley Green. A Superman diving left and he came up with another and he lays out and makes a wonderful catch again. Look at those eyes wide open. Oh, man, here’s the 21 golf to left Riley green on his horse again. Riley slides and makes another nice play left. Try somewhere else. Gang you better hit it somewhere else because if you hit it out to left 31 got it. There are no hits in left field tonight. And the first pitch swings at it , lifts it in the air in the right field. This balls in the gap in right center field and that ball is off the wall in right center and Adle will Cruz in the second base and he is there with a two out double check out to make sure that would be an umpire review the back and hit the back. You can see hit, deflect off the wall. Hitter did hit the top of the wall first. Yes, but it’s still a home. You see the back wall that’s a home run over the home run and a will finish the drug, finish the home run. There was delayed but he’ll take it. Tying run is on here in the eighth and it appears that matt Beerling will be the batter Demers kicks and offers this one Hammer deep to left Taylor at the track. Such a ball Sterling home run of the year for Matt Veling gives the Tigers the lead in the eighth. You talk about swinging the bat good. He gets that 31 count. Just hoping, waiting for that four seam fastball, he got it on the inner third of the plate got right underneath it. And what a time to hit your first home run of the season, man? Is that a swing? Are you going? That’s one of those ones where you’re going to build off of that one and say, is there a turning point, man? That’s a turning point right there. Tigers six Angels five here in the top of the ninth inning. And the new pitcher for Detroit is kyle Finnigan. Oh ho with a drive crushed into left. Stay fair, a foul ball? Ah, wow. He crushed that one just out in front, got him swinging, strike three high fastball, the 12 swing in the mess. He got it with the splitter. The 11 swinging a ground ball out to second picked in the outfield by Glaber Torres turns his body throws to first and that’s the ball game. Tigers win it 65, the final man in that ball game. You didn’t look so good there in the middle innings, but you never count this Tiger team out with all the maneuvering that AJ Hinch can do with that bench. He pulled all the right moves today. Matt feeling with his first home run and it was a huge one to give the Tigers this win.
