Los Angeles Angels vs Detroit Tigers (08-08-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets
[Music] 917 918 we’ve got Kyle Hendricks and the Angels plus 242 Tariq Scooble and the Tigers minus 285 total of 7 and a half with some juice to the under at minus 120 beta let’s start with you here u look I literally sat on this when I looked last night I’m like well I’m going to take the Tigers double result obviously it’s school versus Hendrickx. And then the little the little guy on here on my shoulder said, “Kyle, Kyle Hendrickx hates you. The universe hates you. You can’t beat Kyle Hendricks.” So, I had to stay away from it. Clear pitching advantage here, obviously. But, is there a world here where somehow Kyle Hendricks holds this, you know, at times anemic Tigers offense in check. So, we have this one zero game after five innings and I’m just pissed off. That’s that’s what stopped me here. even though they should beat the living hell out of Kyle Hendris, just for whatever reason, it doesn’t always come to fruition. What do you think in the spot? Well, I think the only thing that could be concerning would be the uh the bullpen of Detroit, which is really kind of slipped down. Uh they’ve been, I don’t know, top 15 at least. Um and now they’re 23rd. So, and what’s interesting, the Angels, who have just had a horrible bullpen, uh maybe it’s through shuffling of players or just actually better performance by the people in the bullpen. They’re 18th, so not great, but a lot better than they were. And what’s interesting, too, is is the Angels offense uh versus left-handed pitching and and they’re seventh in baseball. But I don’t see Scooble as any left-handed pitcher. He’s the number one base winner pitcher. Uh you look at some the the advanced metrics that he’s that he’s really I mean it’s just highest strikeout percentage on the board. Stuff plus highest on the board. Uh pitching plus uh second highest on the board believe it or not to JT Gin. Uh but and then BBK is is zero. Yeah. So stuff like JT Gin last 30 days 97% or I’m sorry that’s that’s a pitching plus number 97 percentile pitching plus even. So, uh, but you have all these really good numbers and then HIS is one of those guys like Randy Vasquez. You know, you play against them all the time and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and you shake your head. But I don’t think there’s any other way to do it but then to go with the Detroit Tigers first five and for me that’s the first leg of the base parlay. Kyle, I think it makes a ton of sense. Before we get Kenny’s breakdown of this, a couple of things. Number one, Andre, if you could please get that long love doctor question from Jack in the Q&A so we can read it together and get to that. Looks like a good question. Like we’ll have a lot of fun with that. So, let’s get that in the Q&A if you could for me, please. I can’t take turning on and watching Kyle Hendris shut out another team. My soul just can’t take it. What are we doing on this one? Yeah, this is weird. I mean, it’s like you talked about it. You open the show with these these massive moneyline favorites and sort of what you do with them at this time of year because uh you’re right. This is I don’t know you’re going to get more of a like, you know, delta in pitching talent than you can possibly get between, you know, Tariq Scooball and Kyle Hendricks. But again, I I I I know what you’re saying. This game has just just a little bit of weirdness to it. Um I think it’s hard to it’s hard to go with the school case at Yeah, you need nine at minus 140. I just I I don’t know if I can get there. And then I was looking to see like all right because of like because of the expectation of Scooble. I mean you’re getting really really juicy prices on some Angels bats to do like the bare minimum. Like I debated looking at Neto for total bases. Um I think the last time these guys faced each other Neto hit an absolute bomb off them I think for first the bat of the game. Yeah. 440 dead center seven or something like that. Annihilated it and then I think Scoobel struck him out the the next two times. So this game is weird to me. I I got nothing here. Um, again, I’ve I’ve given out nothing but trash uh really throughout this entire week. And uh I’m bummed out, too, because I had a guy last night that I liked mentioned him, didn’t play him, and then he hit a home run as first at bat. So, I won’t be making that mistake again. But in this game, I got nothing. Oh, so it’s not uh Graham Paulie, Zack McKinstry hit parlay. No, Zack McKinstry. Oh M I I completely forgot I got McKenry in this game. That is my bad, guys. Uh yeah, they were messing with me yesterday. the record base winners picks were over there trying to mess with me a little bit here. Yeah, that’s my that’s my bad. Um I knew I knew I was doing the uh the the Paulie piece and I forgot I had McKenry in this too. Yeah, give me a give me Zack Zack McKinry to record a hit. I’m doing a two-legg just hit parlay. I need two guys to get one hit each. I think it comes out to about two to one. First leg of that is Zack McKinstry just like how he’s been swinging the bat recently. Um and I thought it was a pretty fair price for for for one hit. I was looking for somebody around that like minus 150 or better range and uh the Bet US price on Mckinry was very good. There you go.
