There’s nothing to sugarcoat. This thing was nine to one and out of hand early. It was 5 nothing at the end of the first inning. Aaron Cavali was absolutely terrible. All right, this one folks, I get starting to get to that point again where I’m done sugar coating. The last few days I’ve been like, “Oh, but this is positive. Oh, they didn’t quit here.” No, no, no, no. All that goodwill after the All-Star break is starting to fade. Yes, they’re still scoring runs. These are some garbage runs, though. I mean, they were down 9-1. They tack on four to get within 95 to lose the game by four. But there’s nothing to love here. There really is nothing to love. And let’s check out our pitching matchup because that is where this game was kind of done said and done. Said and done because Aaron Savali was awful. It’s all brought to you by Hooters. I know a lot of starters didn’t move. Aaron Seali is coming off three really good starts. Tonight, not so much. Three and a third. Nine earned runs, eight hits, six strikeouts, two walks. T Tanner Bbeby for the Guardians was just okay. He was good enough. Five and a third, four earned, five hits, a homer, seven strikeouts, and four walks. The Guardians have played themselves back into the AL Wildard race, which is incredible. They’re 14- six since the break. But I don’t understand why the White Socks didn’t trade Aaron Savali. Somebody’s insurance policy. The Cubs traded for Michael Sarroa who went 0 and 10 for the White Sox last year. He lasted all of two innings with the Cubs before he’s on the IIL. Aaron Savali was acquired in the Andrew Vaughn trade from Milwaukee with the intention of flipping him. And now the one thing you actually need him to do is eat innings and he can’t do that. Three and a third. And before the game, the White Sox sent Jonathan Cannon down to Triple A Charlotte as he’s been banged up of late. I’m telling you, how much insurance do you have for your young arms down the stretch? Aaron Savali was a lottery ticket where you got to get a big prospect for him. No, but now you’re stuck with him. Now you’re stuck with him and you need him to eat innings and you had to have him eat it and wear it tonight after one where he gave up five and he couldn’t get much further than that because he was getting hit all over the ballpark. It’s ridiculous. Terms of player of the game, Carlos Santana. He went two for four, four RBI for the Guardians, who like I said have played themselves back into the AL wild card race. The White Sox are losing all of that post All Star break goodwill says Guff after being crushed by the Cleveland Guardians on Friday. Aaron Civale was terrible tonight, allowing 9 earned and it has Guff frustrated because the entire reason Civale was acquired was to be flipped at the deadline, and now you’re stuck with him. It was 5-0 after 1 and got to as bad as 9-1 before the Sox added a few garbage runs. There’s no sugar coating this one tonight. The Sox have lost 5 in a row.
