Miami Marlins vs Atlanta Braves – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 9, 2025 MLB Season

They got to be ready. It’s got a very high inzone rate. And with that first pitch, Jin Pal has officially made history. First female umpire ever to work a Major League Baseball game. As I said, she will be down at first base for 10 so far in this series. So, he’s having a good week here in Atlanta. But not there. It is the splitter for Waldrip the splitter again. Two strikeouts on it in there that Stackcast missed out on. Not exactly sure what was going on from parts unknown. Some of those pitches check down. He went Chad. They had Olen out in front on that 81 mile per hour curveball. comes to the secondaries, you can stay a little more focused on the curveball change up and cutter. That time he got the four seam fast ball up and went after it. You got different rules. Obviously, it’s a lot different when you’re calling balls and strikes. She’s going to get her first action over here at first base. Another bouncer toward the middle of the infield. Two away from South Georgia, Thomasville, and grew up a Braves fan. Two- two pitch. Another strike out. Michael puts this in play. And that is trouble. Sean’s going to head to third. Michael Harris to second. It’s a double for the Braves center fielder. And that will get a run home. Slow roller to Edwards. Atlanta draws first blood. That’s going to get the other run in. It is a line out to left, but Harris will come home and score with ease. Two to nothing. Nacho Alvarez down quickly, but who’s still still doing it with the Houston Astros? Nick Allen to second for one. And that throw gets by Matt Olsen, but no damage done. Ground ball to Matt Olsen to second for one. Double play. That’s not the birthday present. Xavier taking off Nick Allen. Oh my. He got a gigantic jump. Gusto fires. Baldwin. Line drive. Base hit. Allen waited so he now comes home and it’s three to nothing. Grounded to third here. They’ll come home and they get the out there and then safe at first. Base is still loaded. Infield still in. And here’s Michael Harris. That’s popped out shallow left. Meyers over and Matt Olsen will not go. And Gusto bounces back after giving up the one run. Three to nothing Atlanta. My wife who played softball in college and was a Jersey girl just like Jen and started doing some research yesterday when she found out the news. She said, “Oh,” she said she played for the Stratford bracket. Such unique experience. So any of you guys have umpire when you were younger? Uh-oh. That ball is deep. Proar and the wall. He brought it back. [Music] You’re like, “Hey, come on. I’m I’m a freshman in high school here.” Yeah, I could see WY out there doing it. Strikes out Hicks session over there right now. Third baseman Paulie gets Eli White. King takes off. That sweeper to get Nacho Alvarez. Parents, everybody was so excited and he never got a chance to tow the rubber, but he’s going to get a one, two, three, fourth here as Allen pops out to Edwards. New generation of players if maybe that swing percentage goes down a little bit. Yeah, we’ll get a good feel next year. I’m sure again we talk about a lot that the taking over a veteran team and guys that are setting their ways. Two down now attacked early. Five scoreless innings, six strikeouts. Excellent so far. Another payoff pitch and he got him. That curveball that at times today has been really Baldwin looking for another hit, but he’s not going to get it right there on the edge of the tracks. Here comes Michael Harris. That first pitch lifted towards Meyers so the air doesn’t hurt the fish. Senoa Senoa trying to make amends for that air that he had. He’s going to head for second and he slides in just well that’ll help. One away and the runner stays put. [Applause] Ninth pitch is in play and a single out to left field. So, Noah’s going to try to score and he will. Dylan Lee loosening. Skyhigh pop for Stards. And Azie has it. Ground ball. Azy as Walder gets out of the way. Azie makes the play. They brought up him as a starter. No. Azie looks between the two rookie pitchers, Waldrip and Gusto. 13 strikeouts. [Applause] Awkward. He’s kind of knuckling out to Marc. He gets an eighth strike out. Ground ball slowly to short to second for one. Double play. Out into left center, Michael Harris over and he takes it [Applause] to his fellow shortstop Senoa. Allan Browns out. [Applause] Ground ball. Get up the middle. It will so far around third. He’s going to score. And with a throw to third base, everybody advances. And how about Drake Baldwin? He’s now driven in seven in this series. The slider gets him. Two down now. This OPS in particular nearly 425 points. Did he get all of it at the wall? She is gone. A threerun bomb for Money Mike. We’re going to get blasted for this. You know, right Azie hits this one hard, but Stard back there to grab it. Worry. It’s a six-run lead. It’s the eighth inning. You’re down. Nacho makes a play. [Applause] Little lazy fly ball. Shallow center. and Michael coming all the way in to grab it. Looks like it’s going to be a nice easy inning here for Dylan Lee. And it is. You’re offended. Well, I don’t think he’s 5’11. Eli White runs well, but not well enough. I got it. [Music] Nacho Alvarez down on strikes. Two away. Played umpire for game two tonight at 7:15. Well, Zuber does his job. Line drive. Eli White back a few steps to grab. Johnson is a really good kind of road map to success for Colorado pitchers. Azie will spin and go to second for one, but the game will continue as Hick Hicks will take second. Fielders indifference [Music] the payoff. He struck him out. Braves win. Seven to one the final in game one of this double header. We knew that strikeout was coming sooner or later. Michael Harris with a big home run. How about Jurgson Proofar with the big catch, robbing a homer. But what a big historic moment. An important day in Major League Baseball history as Jen Powell becomes the first woman to umpire in a regular season major league game. She was excellent. We’ll see her in game two and as we mentioned tomorrow behind the plate. Congratulations.

  1. Seems like that trade of Sanchez for Gusto worked out with gusto! Not. Again, why did we trade Sanchez for a pitcher and 2 other guys? Also, Gusto and Sanchez are both about the same age so we didn't gain anything there.
