Houston Astros vs New York Yankees – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 9, 2025 MLB Season

34 strikes and a good sign though what his velocity was up. Let’s do it here in the Bronx. Pitch up and away. We’re underway. Last hit 2-1. That’s driven deep to left field. There it goes. See youa. Just like that. One- nothing Astros. Pñena has had quite a year away from the injury. There goes Aku. The throw. Got him. Two and two on Koreah. First chance for Stanton. And he puts it away cleanly and he walked him. That’ll force it to run. Goldman coming down the third baseline when he touches home plate. 2-1. Fly ball center field tagging his judge. McCormack with the catch. He fires to second. So a run score sacked by for Rice. Yankees take a 2-1 lead. Bellinger moves to third. Standing. Grounded to third. Let’s see if they turn two. There’s one on to first. Double play. 543. Chopped toward first base. Goldsmith will flip to heel. And joined us here in the booth, Bernie Williams. Oh, what a play by Oras to take a base hit away from Gish. When that happened, Bernie, how ticked off did you? More than anything else for bragging rights. I mean, everywhere you went in the city, everybody was talking about Yankees Mets, Yankees Mets. Ground ball, base hit inside third. And that’s going to go down the left field line. Cabayro hustling to second. Trel will play it out there. Cabayro thinks about three, but he’ll stop right there with a double. Do the job. And uh that’s what we did. Line drive caught by. Two nice plays to help out Valdez. Guys better hurry up. I said we’re getting to the end. It’s it’s it’s your turn. He’s like, “Shut up, kid. I’m sprinting. Swing and a miss. He does strike out the side. Not a single through the right side in the first inning. Tries it again, but this time right there. There’s one on first. He’s too fast to double up. That one’s popped up. Fairly shallow right center. The catch is made by McCormick for round number two. left field. Trl is there and puts it away to retire. No runs a hit and in the room. Sanchez with a fly ball to deep right and that ball’s going to be off the wall as Stanton will scramble after it and it’s going to be a double for Sanchez. One, two, chases upstairs. Tou down on strikes. Family and and you know I I didn’t think they hit to right field. Sanchez grounds third. He’s coming home. Here’s the throw. Here’s the play. Safe. And the runner moves to second on the throw. So a tie game. Uh I just felt it was important that everybody was aware of what’s happening, you know, in my mind. And um and you know I I just felt that was my person. But did it work? It worked because you knew and you trusted David Con even out of the pin that night. Well, yeah, he had um he had hit a home run of fly ball left center. McCormack makes the catch. Round number one, the 01 popped up shallow center field. Is McCormack going to get there? He dives and he makes the play. He’s a late start, but he made the play to retirement. You know, their bullpin is good. Their pitching is good. And you know, they’re very hard to come back on. Line to right field. Sanchez on the run. He’s there to make the play on the warning track for the final out. Yankee Strand one. We go to the fifth. Oh, no. In Joe Tori’s office, a disciplinary meeting. Uh, kind of. Wow. Bulby retires Trel. Highf fly ball left field. Bellinger grounded and pass to diving McMahon down the left field line. That’s going to go into the corner. McCormack will pick up a two out double and the one two swing and a miss. Big strike out on the slider getting Sanchez and getting out of the hit sharply. A base hit to left center field. Judge had a hold up and he’s going to score easily. Bellinger is going to third. He’ll make it. It’s an RBI single for Stanton. And the Yankees have taken the lead. 3-2. Wow. This is what you want, Michael, by putting ground ball second base. There’s one and there’s two. Bellinger scores here in the booth. Swing and a miss. Vulpi down on strikes. Yankees get two on two hits. Yeah, it was good. Albe pops one up and Vulpi is there. What was it like? Walker ground ball. Vulpi. There’s one on the first. It’s a double play. Uh again, just very thankful to be able to play with a There’s a bump by Ky here. Here we go. Oh, what a pick there by too. Well, but uh yeah, that was that was special. Grounded to first. Walker step on the bag and moving to third. Crazy a heavy bat. Uh-oh. blooper into right field and Sanchez almost played that into a in the sixth inning. I think in the perfect scenario uh you would have Weaver here in the seventh, Bill possibly in the eighth and in the ninth. Let’s see. High pop up. Kamayro puts it away to Darren strike three down on strike and you have Max Freed on the mound tomorrow. So you could build on it if you could hold on here. That one’s drilled to left field. Trel is there and makes the play. 339 against left-handed pitching. left center. Trill makes the play. One, two, swing and a miss. Stanton down on strikes. Yankees. If you know a guy goes back out and he struggles, then all of a sudden it’s like, “Oh, this guy’s not a two inning guy. He’s only a one inning guy.” Uh, and and working with the club and stuff like that. So, that’s been it’s been fun for me. That one is looped into left field. That is going to be a base hit. Runners trying to score from third. Here’s the throw. Here’s the play. He’s in there. Throw gets by Dval and the runners will move up. Throw to third. Not in time. To Aluve with an RBI. You can’t walk him in. Yeah. No. Know that first shot trying to go in for the punch out. Then you got to kind of be aggressive and go at him. And there’s ball four. That’ll force in a run. The game is tied at four. strike to ball at the bottom of the zone. Swing and a miss. He gets the strike out on a 98 mph fast ball. Big strike out from B. Swing and a miss. Got him. And the actual nub in front of the plate. One down. More than he’s ever thrown. Yeah. Bulby hits from the right center. Smith is there deep to right field. There it go. See youa deep into the second net. A huge home run for Gish. He just gave up the lead in to get it back. That is enormous by Gisham. Ground ball a short and they get Cabayo and that will a one-twoid fields flips to Bednar and the Yankees are out away one popped up right side and Bellinger with the catch and you put that under the heading of a much needed victory for the Yankees. Gisham’s home run and the Yankees win 54 to even up the series of the game a piece.

  1. DIAZ SUCKS!!!!!!! always swings at first pitch and drives it to deep center UNTIL bases are loaded…..then he strikes out.
FRAMBER HAS BEEN LOOKING AWFUL LATELY.
KING? HOW MANY TIMES IS "MANAGER OF THE YEAR" GOING TO PUT HIM IN FOR TWO QUICK OUTS AND A HOMER?

  2. If they get back their injured , the yanks can come in on a wild card and cause harm. They need to stop putting hope in players who don’t have confidence in themselves. Boone has cause this team wins on many occasions but he’s still at the helm 🤷🏽‍♀️

  3. Even though the yankees won i dont like this yankee team man. This is not yankees standard i know theres injuries but this team is real mid to average at best not really exciting. I grew up in the jeter era the dynasty so im used to the yankees having a world series caliber team or bust. No exceptions at least a team capable of winning the a.l. east or pennant this aint it man. This team aint that good at all.

  4. that is literally the perfect win. bats outdid the pitching which is fine. we have the best offense in the AL. but we need to be able to close games, which we did. CMON YANKS

  5. Seriously…how many were thinking Williams after that first out in the ninth !!Happy Boone let them play ….now leave the line up alone .I expect three different starters tomorrow and a completely different line up . Gresham home run probably got him out of the line up tomorrow, he's hot better save him for that one pinch hit .
