Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Rams Game Highlights | 2025 Preseason Week 1

last season. Three touches
before fracturing his forearm
and missing the playoffs. Bennett moves the pocket and he
has a completion to his tight
end Davis Allen, who’s had a sensational camp a catch good
for a first down.
>> What a throw here by Bennett. Rolling to his left being
patient. You got Dion running
down on top of you. You go much. Payton Turner was the
injured cowboy was able to walk
off under his own power. Rams behind the sticks after the
penalty. Nifty run here by Corum
spinning off contact as he climbs up to the 37 yard line.
>> You know JB one of the things
that I noticed about Corum last to Stetson Bennett and the Rams
sets the laces. What a throw
over the top and across midfield. A leaping grab by
Xavier Smith.
>> That’s a nice job by Smith. Climbing the ladder there to go
up and snag that. Stetson did a
lot of his best work in the last two preseasons out of empty.
Good to see him standing in the
pocket waiting for the route to develop. And again, really nice
catch by Smith, quarterback. But you talk about
a ball that that he had to go up
and get. I love that toughness. >> Drake Stoops the motion man
play fake boot out to the right
side again to the flat. That’s Davis Allen shaking the first
cowboy. And he’s inside the 45
yard line a couple of targets for Davis Allen in his third
year out of Clemson. On the
first possession for the Rams. that ball with Matthew Stafford.
>> As you see the offense on the
field for fourth down. They need six. Shotgun snaps. Stetson
Bennett Cowboys coming after
him. He heaves down the left sideline and. Caught. Xavier
Smith reels it in.
>> What a drive for Xavier Smith. Great job tracking that
one down. Good focus.
>> Through contact. >> Keep his feet.
>> Inbounds. Stetson Bennett
doing a good job of identifying the one on one and throwing him
open.
>> Battling Andrew Booth in and goal. Stetson. No gain. Well
played on the edge by the
Cowboys. Payton Turner, who is shaken up earlier on this
possession. Returning to the
game. And Leo Fowl combining on the tackle.
>> You know I love the read
option down here. Forces the >> 11th play of the game’s
opening drive from the two back
to Corum. And he’s in for the first time. Blake Corum
touchdown LA.
>> Great blocking there from the interior of the Rams offensive
line. You saw Bo Limmer getting
a great block reaching up there. Who was the Rams starter for
much of the season last year.
And a nice job by Corum punching it in.
>> You talk about the Rams depth earlier about Matthew Stafford
missing a lot of the summer
program. How do you develop that chemistry with him if you don’t
have time to do reps.
>> Sorry something crazy just happened. I know yeah
everybody’s excited. I just
missed out on it. But I mean, >> For it. Yeah.
>> Second time they’ve done that
last time from about this point. It was good for 39 yards. Put
Stetson on the move. He can run
for this. And a fresh set of downs as he cruises out of
bounds inside the 40.
>> You heard me say he wasn’t a dual threat quarterback in the
red zone earlier and said watch
this. Stoops in motion and goal from
the four. They drill it straight
ahead right back to paydirt. Two drives two touchdowns for Blake
Corum.
>> Touchdown. and then a fantastic job by
Corum. Finding daylight in a
really small hole. >> Yeah these double teams are
getting removal and that’s what
you want. You’re seeing two guys pick up one guy and put him in
the end zone, or move him off
his spot. And then anytime you’re in the in the tight red
or anywhere when linemen are in
the standing in the end zone, for the Cowboys. He started his
day zero for three as Dallas
went three and out. Put it in the hands of Jalen Tolbert who’s
wrapped up at the line of
scrimmage. Sean Jolley making a play in space. As you get a look
at Chris Shula arriving at his
second season at the defensive away some of the top pass
rushers in the NFL. You want him
to go against that duo of guys in Houston.
>> Third and long. Bennett
retreats. Now has time to survey. Can’t find a target.
Needs eight. Nearly intercepted
for the first time today. The Rams will have to punt. Buddy
Johnson locked on Drake. Stoops.
>> You know in seven on seven. >> There we go again.
>> Evans handles a low snap. No
trouble getting it away. Tolbert retreating inside his 15. Jalen
Tolbert up the numbers and to
the sideline. And there’s another flag as he goes out of
bounds before reaching the 40
yard line. >> A penalty flag on the play.
>> Cody Shrader with the special
teams tackle. Once again our really good about the six guys
that we drafted, they still are
right in their own story, but they’re going to be factors for
us. It’s good.
>> There’s one right on cue. >> There he is.
>> Josiah Stewart, welcome to
LA. Race to the quarterback. Between he and Hampton Joe
Coniglio does such a good job
with that group. And Josiah has really made his presence felt. I
love the way that G money is
mixing it up to really applying Sean.
>> Yeah. You tell me what you
like on your play call sheet. If you’re an offensive player here,
offensive play caller, double
chip. Stewart’s vertical routes. Oh, they got the double move. We
did not just give.
>> That up. >> Don’t throw.
>> That.
>> I got to be able to get our vision back.
>> Jonathan Mingo was the target
Sean Jolley recovering. >> Brandon Aubrey hit from 66
last preseason here at SoFi. A
much more modest 35 yarder for the all pro. And the Cowboys are
on the board. 804 to go in our
opening half, a couple of Blake move his body, those type of
things. And then again you talk
about the blocking aspect. I do expect to see a lot of 12 in
some certain situations.
>> Bennett stumbles coming away from center there. It’ll be
third down and long. Ferguson,
by the way, dealing with a groin Hoffman, the Dallas center,
fourth down, less than a yard.
The QB slipped. It will depend on the spot. Rams think they
take over on downs.
>> A stop. >> I don’t think he got it.
>> I don’t think so either.
>> The ref on the right side of goals in the second quarter and
then begin the third with
possession as well. >> This is a guy who doesn’t
need any reps.
>> Aubrey already hit from 35 in midseason form from 25 to end
the first half. Blake Corum with
two rushing touchdowns for the Already. The placekicker sharing
kickoff duties with Ethan Evans,
the punter. And they’re going to bring it out. Cropper up. That
left side does break the 30 yard
line. And that’s where the Cowboys will begin. The first
drive of the third quarter. JB
long Mina Kimes and J.D. Drew. it, put it on film for all 32
teams.
>> What was the last time you played in a preseason?
>> 15 minute. In a minute.
>> Oh pretty cool. The first pick of Les Snead’s tenure back
in 2012. And we’re going to talk
during this third quarter with as well.
>> Second down and seven. Off
play action Joe Milton avoids the initial rush. Now heaves
deep down the middle.
>> And. Wow. Great play. >> Great play by intercepted.
Cam Lampkin took it away. It’ll
be a touchback. >> Look at that.
>> Such a great job by Cam
Lampkin. Staying in phase all great job at that.
>> The 23 year old, who played
at Washington State, was up and down from the Rams practice
squad throughout last season and
just wrestled that ball away for a takeaway.
>> Man, that was a great play.
>> You’re good luck. 6.4 yards per carry a season
ago. Play fake to him. Stetson
feeling the pressure spins one down the right numbers and taken
right back by the Cowboys. No
penalty flags down field was the target. Akwamu takes it away.
Israel. Macklemore, the sixth
round pick from 2021 at safety. awesome having a young group.
And you know, Coach Shula has
done a great job of kind of leaning into us as players,
always asking for feedback. And
he I mean, he’s amazing and he always puts us in the best
position to make plays. So you
know where we were last year, we can only continue to grow from.
>> That.
>> I love that, I love that it’s such a strength on this
defense.
>> I love it. These guys can play all over the place. And
when you have guys that can be
versatile, can be put in different positions. Well,
that’s Brendan Pesci, here we
go. But when you have guys that sensational summer at Stoops in
motion and they knock him down
on the jet sweep. Well played on that edge by Zion Childress, a
college free agent who’s really
been climbing the depth chart drilling 17 in a row. Got a hold
of Evans, his punter. Good
looking operation and it’s good. So for the first time since the
opening quarter, the Rams are on
the board. Their new lead 17 >> Never. And I won’t.
>> Cowboys across midfield. Rams
defense trying to get a stop on third and three from the
shotgun. Milton with some touch
down the sideline. Busted up by green. Incomplete.
>> Good play good play.
>> Running step for step with Ryan Flanagan.
>> Yeah that’s well played by AJ
green. Three year NFL vet comes in with the Rams. Gives him a
little bit of veteran experience
competing in that young cornerback group. Great job not
getting too grabby getting his
head around in time to get the pbu.
>> Absolutely. mentioned of.
>> Veteran Ronnie Rivers in to
spell him protecting for Stetson. Nice separation from
Britain. Covey.
>> Good ball. >> Running away from Elijah
Clark for a first down catch.
>> On the flip side of those >> Stetson. Bennett calls for
the shotgun snap. Cowboys send
four. He checks it down middle. It’s Shrader. He’s in. Touchdown
Cody Shrader touchdown LA.
>> That’s a nice job by Stetson Bennett. Taking time in the
pocket holding the DBS. Working
back to Shrader. Patient. a play.
>> Shrader, born in Saint Louis,
rushed for 99 yards in his prep offensive line to be as physical
as they want to be. And so if I
get that opportunity, I want to be able to do that. What a throw
there by Milton. Be able to get
it up over the corner. >> Green to Treshaun Holden.
>> But this Rams team is built
to run the football. They made pointed out. That’s a nice run.
>> Tailback Malik Davis dancing
around it a little bit. But the Cowboys really shorthanded in
their backfield. Jaydon blue
their rookie out of Texas, was >> Backed up from the two to the
seven. Milton to the end zone.
And. Caught Rivaldo Fairweather with the Dallas touchdown.
>> Kind of what we’ve been
looking for him all all day. linebackers and get it to a
corner. As the Cowboys are
preparing to go for two. But again, that’s the touch that we
were looking for from Joe
Milton. Everything is a fastball. You got to throw an
off speed ball here or there.
>> That’s a great job. By Fairweather getting his feet
inbounds for the touchdown as
well. Now they go for two trailing a
dozen. For Mafah is the back
Milton takes a belt high shotgun snap looking left all the way.
And they convert with two. Josh
Kelly on the receiving end. So field right away.
>> It’s going to be huge to get
that momentum back that the Cowboys just took with that
score. And that’s just by
getting first downs. Keep getting first downs and good
things will happen.
>> Out here. But impressively tripped up at the 40. The
undrafted rookie receiver nearly
cracked it open. >> He’s had a couple of nice
returns, which is certainly the
fastest way to make this Rams roster. When you’re competing at
the end as a wide receiver. But
he was a prolific >> A condensed blitz to all
sides here for Stetson Bennett,
who hands it off. Shrader through the right side running
on a safety. Bowls him over
inside the 43 yard line. Mike Smith hanging on for dear life
against the 25 year old Cody
Shrader. >> Again.
>> Running backs.
>> Running behind your pads. Great vision. They’re pressing
the hole. That’s a Ron Gould
staple. Is pressing the line of scrimmage, down across midfield. Eight
minutes to go. And week one of
the preseason for the Rams. Feed him. Why not. Getting skinny
through the hole and breaking it
up the right numbers. Shrader inside the 20.
>> I mean you could just copy
paste what you said on the last run because you’re seeing it
again there.
>> The only difference is I run >> Little right, left. Get the
safety to settle his feet, then
explode away. Look at that. You saw that little quick, subtle
run through a corner they don’t
want to tackle. >> We’ve been talking about,
like, the archetype of
archetype. Pardon me. Of the Rams running back. I would say
vision, elusiveness. Those are
things that they prioritize over. Maybe, you know, the super
fast long speed or even the
power. And again you’re seeing >> Fifth play of the Rams. Drive
off the boots. Bennett flips his
hips and flips it to Pressley for the touchdown.
>> You saw the attention. Take
him back. game. LaFleur is doing an
awesome job of calling it. But
the play action pass at the right time.
>> Look at those Cowboys DBS all
having to flip their hips, seeing the backs of the jerseys
as they’re. Left flailing.
>> You’re exactly right. And that is those are the layups
that you want to be able to
complete. >> And Jared verse digging in on
the Rams sideline as Cardi comes
on for one more try 557 to go. You have to throw the ball on
time. These DBS are so fast.
They’re coached well. They have great technique. They’ll be
everywhere.
>> A second down run with Malik Davis ducking behind a
linebacker, fields jumps on his
back and drags him down across midfield at the 49 of L.A.
>> Takes the.
>> Ball well, I will say, you running back room. Jaydon blue
got stepped on I believe at
camp. So that’s why he’s not in there as right on cue another
explosive run.
>> So the offensive line has to get better for Dallas right.
That was one of the focal points
of this offseason. They got in his pro debut. Low snap on
third and six. We’re able to
pick it up. Still has his eyes up a ball fake and a touchdown
run.
>> Pinkston. It’s tough angle are going to tell you you can’t
hit the quarterback when they’re
throwing the ball. I understand that, but sometimes you just got
to go and try to make a play.
>> Well, Grier was not on my bingo card for having the first
rushing touchdown over Joe
Milton in this game. >> Yeah. Bingo is always tough.
>> Brandon Aubrey tacks on the
extra points and the Cowboys are that. I think that’s putting a
smile on Sean Mcvay’s face.
>> I also think 83 rushing in 82 passing puts puts a smile to you
want to talk about balance like
that. That is a tough thing to stop when you have 180, excuse
me, 180 yards on the ground,
both running and passing. >> I think the undercurrent here
too, so much optimism about this
2025 team, so long as Matthew Stafford is at the helm. And we
know that earlier today he got a
throwing workout in. And if
