Jalyn Armour-Davis Talks About Willingness to Play Safety | Baltimore Ravens
How we doing? You feel like this is your kind of best four years? Um, I would think so. I mean, I always want wherever I’m at now to be the best at. So, I always want to be better than any other year before now. So, I would say so, you know, just continuing to find something new to work on every day. Um, staying consistent, staying available, uh, you know, and just showing up. and um you know from there on God take care of the rest. So you know I’m happy right now. You talked about the availability. Is there something different changes that you made you know from a physical stand? Yeah, man. Really, my entire off seasonason was dedicated towards that. Whether it was change of nutrition, uh workout routine, um I believe just the team that I have around me from my trainer to my Pilates teacher to management, everything that’s around me, um I think has been very healthy for me this off seasonason and I’ve seen great results from it. So being able to continue to do those things throughout the season and even building on top of that is something that’s still a main goal for me. And um that’s another area that I’m I’m happy where I’m at right now. So good progress. You saw you get some uh you had some safety reps earlier. What you know, does that help having the positional flexibility? Do you feel like is that something you can you know in a pinch play that play that sort of role or? For sure. I mean, I’m never going to say no to an opportunity to play on this defense. Um, so if that’s what the coaches think that I would be able to excel at, then I’m going to give that a shot. Uh, and it obviously helps just knowing almost safety would be the last position for me to complete in the secondary. So, at that point, really understanding the entire defense, knowing what everyone’s job is. So whenever it’s my turn to be in a certain spot, I understand what everyone else is doing, which helps me, you know, be able to adjust on the fly, be able to plug and play at any point in time. Uh, and you know, I I view it as a great thing that my coaches trust me to be able to plug and play anywhere. Uh, of course, I want to be able to develop into a spot and and grow into it, but never going to turn down the opportunity to step onto the field for sure. anything over the, you know, rookie year ends up with an injury, couple other injuries. What’s the biggest challenge for you year to year when that keeps happening? I mean, I think every challenge is different in their own different ways. Um, I mean, they’ve all been setbacks in some ways, but I don’t really approach any of them the same and don’t really look forward to them at all in the future cuz I don’t want anymore. So, I mean, every situation was different. I was able to learn something different from it, whether it was something I could have done differently or just a lesson that I could learn in that moment to prevent something going forward or just, you know, just a moment to learn from where my feet are. So, I think my main focus just being wherever my feet are in that moment, even if it’s something I don’t like or even if it’s something I love and just finding the best thing out of it and and continue to push forward. So, that’s just my mindset all the time. Was it were the injuries, you know, either the the compilation of them or, you know, last year, was that hard to deal with mentally and at some point, some level, and and did you have to do something to kind of get over that? Yeah, I mean, it’s always tough having to watch um watching the game that you love, watching, you know, something that you dream of since you was a a child. Um, that’s always the toughest thing, you know, not being around your teammates consistently, you know, not being out at practice, even the days that are hard and the days that you feel like suck or the days that you miss the most when you’re not out there. So, it’s always tough mentally and of course physically cuz you got to get back to where you are, then figure out how to get stronger so it doesn’t happen again. Um, but I mean, I have a great support system. You know, my family supports me very well. My mom, my sisters, my daughters, everyone around me. Um, I have great people that I can lean on whenever I need them to or whenever I need to. Um, and and my teammates and the people around this building. So, I’m very grateful for everyone around me to figure out ways to continue to go forward when it’s tough. Going into year four and your knowledge of the defense and everything from a pure just being able to cover a guy when you’re out there on that field and helping, how do you how strong do you feel and and confident in your abilities to do that? Oh, a thousand%. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think that. I wouldn’t be here if they didn’t think I could do that. So, u that’s never a doubt at all. Just be available, believe in myself, go out there and and let it go. We heard that very quickly. Oh, outstanding. I think um being around coach Chuck is just a blessing. You know, someone that’s so smart, so intelligent and just eager to to teach, you know what I mean? He just loves being around the guys. He loves teaching people. He just loves to see improvement. And to have someone like that behind you that really believes in you and wants to push you forward is nothing but a blessing. And it’s been a joy to be around him. Um love being around him every day. He’ll text you at any point in time. And I’m always welcome that. I’m always ready for that. So, you know, I love being around both him and Double D, man. It’s it’s a great great blessing. Taught you anything unique that you haven’t learned here? For sure. I don’t I don’t want to put that out, but a thousand%. Yeah. I feel like I learned something from from him almost every day really. You know, it’s never really a review. It’s all he always has a new pointer, new something to look at on the smallest thing. So, you know, I love it. What’s the earliest or latest you’ve gotten a text from? might be anywhere around like 3:00 a.m. or so. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only TV that’ll say that. But I mean, that’s great. I mean, when you have someone that’s that dedicated to, you know, be watching a play of yours, whether it was good or bad play, and and send it to you and have tips on it, you know, what what else would you want as a player from your coach? Is that before Coach Chuck has gone to bed or as he’s getting better? That is a good question. I don’t know. I have no idea. But he gets it done. You’re pretty lowkey guy. What’s been your impression of Jire so far? Yeah, him and Marlin like twins. Um, but it’s good though. It’s like every every room, not just DB room, specifically DB room, but every room needs at least one or two of those guys. just expressive, confident, and just not wild, but you know, y’all know him. You know, I I I love being around both of them, man. It’s like a joy to be around every single day, for sure. Is this your first offseason working with Devin Allen? Yeah, we started working uh in the pre-draft uh as I was entering the draft and uh you know, we had the the hip thing my my rookie year. So, I wasn’t able to see him that year, but outside of that year, we’ve been working ever since. So, we’ve continued to build our relationship and stack sessions whenever we’re able to have free time to work with each other. So, person that I view as family and very grateful for and continue to work work with going forward. All right. Yeah, appreciate you.

what is happening back there? lmao
The background noise makes this situation ridiculous for press conferences. Sigh.
MIC ALL THE REPORTERS SO WE CAN HEAR ALL THE QUESTIONS
This is my problem with our coach,he donβt respond well. When it comes to players that play like π© ! Leary is the same 3rd string qb that threw multiple interceptions last year. In preseason I donβt know who was responsible for bringing him in. But heβs definitely not a nfl level back up qb. They better off finding another back up. Cause the 2 we have so far is very disappointing. # flocknation
