Um, first and foremost, you should not take this incredibly serious because it is a preseason game and most of the people that’s playing are likely not going to be playing reasonable amounts of reps for you. That’s the first thing that we can walk away and say, you know what I’m saying? The player on the field that’s probably going to get the most reps in the regular season that we saw today is like Maris, Donovan, and like Perion. Like that’s it. The rest of y’all, I’ll catch you. But let me break down what I mean by that. Right. Um, Joe Milton has always been a developmental type quarterback. And if I’m lying, you can go in the chat, tell me if I’m lying. If I’m telling the truth, you can go in the chat, tell me I’m telling the truth. It’s up to y’all. I’ve always felt like Joe Milton was a developing quarterback. Joe Milton has a ton of traits. Joe Milton has a lot to figure out between the ears, but Joe Milton got all the physical traits. So, when y’all heard Vach talk about Joe Milton, it was never in the context of any quarterback controversy. For the people that thought that there was a real life quarterback controversy, you’ve been had. Some of y’all was out here eating the cheese cuz some of these people were simply saying that because they don’t like number four. And you got to be careful. You know, I criticize four. People don’t see me criticizing for a whole bunch because people want me to criticize for while I’m ripping a TV off my wall or y’all want me to break all the expensive all the expensive [ __ ] I I’m not breaking furniture in my house. You know what I’m saying? If you want to watch somebody else that break down furniture and [ __ ] you know what I’m saying? While they complain about Dak Prescott, do that. But I’ll tell you what’s simply wrong and criticize Dak in a in a in a chill way. You know what I’m saying? What I’ve always said about Joe Milton is he is a developing quarterback. And Will Greer does a better job of keeping everything on the rails, not throwing the ball to the other team, kind of going through the procedures of the plays and getting the ball out to whoever need to get the football. That’s what Will Greer is good at. Is Will Greer developing like Joe M in the chat says? No. I think Will Greer is is as good as Will Gre is gonna be right now. But Joe Milton has the ability to be better than Will Greer. But what have I always said? I say Joe Milton throw the ball harder than a bit. I see why you’re fine playing Joe Milton damn near a whole game and Will Greer just kind of coming in when honestly whenever Joe Milton couldn’t. He was on the defensive side smacking people. I do think Maris is is going to be a part of this equation uh moving forward. He has to be. He has to be like year two. Maris seems to have a good feel um has a good feel for the football and where it is and diagnosing and things like that. So when it comes down to this group of linebackers like when Sam Bourne and Kenny Murray get involved like you’ve got to get Maris Leopile involved somehow like he in this game where not where not a lot of people flash like Maris flash he flashed really well in the game. So mind y’all too I don’t have answers for everything here. Uh just please allow me to watch the film tomorrow morning and come back with an actual film film report for you. The Rams just did a good job of like getting rid of the football because uh what’s our guy? James Houston. James Houston kept almost getting to the quarterback. Perion was almost getting to the quarterback, but uh the Rams just did a good job of getting rid of the ball quickly. Now, if your coverage was a smidge better, uh would your pass rushers would have been would have been able to get home? More than likely. More than likely, your pass rusher would have been able to get home. Uh if your corners held up a little better, but they didn’t. They didn’t. They didn’t. They didn’t. So, excuse me. It is what it is. So, like my um biggest takeaway from this thing, it’s preseason. Uh we got three preseason games for a reason. If Joe Milton go out there and look crazy again, and mind you, Joe Milton got a little better towards the end. He uh he started running around a little bit more. I think most of the time Joe be running because he’d be missing reads, but I can’t prove that. Um but, uh Joe Milton ran around and and his touchdown, the fairweather had some really good touch on it. Um, but they had Tolbert out there and he didn’t do much at receiver, but he was returning punts and like you’ve talked about in the past like when they’re looking for ways to get you on the field, you might be on your way out. So, I just I’m not I think you you and brought us on to something about Colbert being in the the Mingo Florenoi camp. Um, he had two targets, one catch for negative one yards. Like I mean again I know it’s tough to get a read on the receivers with Milton out there but probably not great for for number one. Um and then I guess the second thing is for like for a team that’s going to be running a lot of gap scheme and for a team that early on is kind of struggling getting to the second level. Mhm. is is somebody like Mafa who maybe doesn’t have the best vision but is just kind of a gonna fall forward guy going to run hard. I feel like that kind of might work with what you’re trying to do in the run game. It might uh especially if you like they say that that that they’re trying to move the line of scrimmage and things like that. Uh Javvante Williams would fit that probably more ideally. Uh, but Mafa would be right at home with that, just pushing guys off the line of scrimmage and him just being a uh like a like a like a tough running type character, you know? Now, whether you want to finish games with him or if you want him to be not climbing to the second level, he’s going to have in theory like it’s going to be him versus a linebacker and like I feel like you’d rather like he’s the type of guy you’d want to be playing phone booth football with, I would think. And if this offense does remotely well this year, then he’s going to be in demand. I think it helps us keeping flu because Flu didn’t got he he’s been a head coach before and he’s gotten fired before so excuse me. I think holding on to Flu be a little easier.
