to go to see a show. But Miss Kate said, “No, I’ll tell you what you can do. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackers, Jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root root for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. Katy Casey saw all the games. Knew the players by their first names. Told the umpire he was wrong all along. Good and strong. When the score was just two to two, Katy Casey knew what to do. just to cheer up the boys she knew. She made the gang sing this song. Please take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crack a jack. I don’t care if I never get back. Let me root. Root brute for the home team. If they don’t win, it’s a shame. For it’s one, two, three strikes. You’re out at the old ball game. Greetings, folks, and welcome to live coverage of Orioles baseball, where this evening the Baltimore Orioles will be playing the second game of a three-game series against the Athletics, the team with no home. here at Oral Park at Camden Yard. It’s a special night in downtown Baltimore, folks. Welcome in. Hi everybody. I’m the bird watcher. People call me BW for short. And this is the Orioles Bird Watcher channel. Uh welcome in, welcome in, welcome in. It is uh a special night. The Orioles are having their Orio Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It is just now about wrapping up, but uh top of the show here. A big congratulations to go out to Adam Jones, AJ Tim, uh Joe Orselac, smoking Joe O, and Tom Davis, uh Orioles and Baltimore local uh sportsman. Uh he has had his toes dipped in just about everything Baltimore sports. Tom Davis also being inducted uh this evening. So, we got something nice going on. We’ve also won a couple of games in a row, folks. I I don’t want to alarm anybody. I don’t want to alarm people, but uh we’ve won a couple of games in a row. Uh could we win another? I’m kind of enjoying winning. Uh we uh yeah, let’s let’s go ahead and get into this. All right, sorry. Um, the Orioles come in tonight uh 10 games under 500, a record of 53 and 63. The A’s are a couple of games back of Baltimore at 51 and 67. Uh, both teams still wallowing uh near the bottom of the league. Uh, not as bad as the White Socks, but uh we’re basically the next tier up, but uh that’s why we’re trying to win some games here, folks. This is a pretty winnable series uh compared to the remainder of the schedule coming up. Uh let’s win while we can. Uh Brandon Young is going to be on the mound for Baltimore tonight. He’ll be facing Jack Perkins. Neither pitcher has won a game this season. Young is 0 and5. Perkins is 0 and2. Perkins has only made one other start previous and that was about five or six days ago. He only went three innings and uh he got hit around pretty hard. Uh normally he is a reliever. He’s listed as a relief pitcher uh when you look him up on I don’t know ESPN, MLB.com, what have you. So the A’s are trying to stretch Perkins into a starter here it would seem. Uh but again only able to go three innings in his first uh start and he was hit around pretty good. Hoping for more of the same from the Orioles lineup tonight. Brandon Young with a 5.88 erra, a 1.67 whip. It’s not pretty numbers, but uh let’s just try to get Brandon Young on in the win column any which way we can. Uh we need some offense tonight. They need to show up. Hopefully uh the team uh the current team is been watching this uh Hall of Fame ceremony and you know uh an occasion like that uh can give you the the sort of inspiration you might need to go out there and start kicking some butt. It would be nice to see. and Brandon Young. I just want to see this guy get out of the, you know, get off the schneide, get a win, get his record to one and five. Uh, the athletics lineup leading off and playing center field, Lawrence Butler, Shay Langalers will bat second and do the catching. Nick Curts is at first base. He’ll hit third. Brent Rooker, the DH, will be the cleanup hitter. Tyler Solderstrom is in left field hitting fifth. JJ Bladeet in right field batting six. Uh Derell, is it Derell? I I’ve been putting an N in his I’ve been saying Darnell. Yeah, Derell Hern is a shortstop. He’s hitting seventh. Luis Aras will bat eighth and play second base. And finally, Gio Orchella, a veteran third baseman who has been struggling this season, has yet to hit a home run. uh he will bat ninth and play third base for the Orioles. Uh first six batters in the lineup. Uh makes you think about the team we thought about coming into this season. Then we get to the outfielders. That’s a little bit different. Jackson Holiday will lead off and play second base. Jordan Westber will bat second and play third. Gunnar Henderson’s the shorts stop hitting third. Adley Rutman will do the catching and bat fourth. Ryan Mount Castle hits fifth and will DH again. Kobe Mayo over at first base hitting sixth. And then you get to the outfield. Jeremiah Jackson will bat seventh and play right. Dylan Carlson will hit eighth and man left field. And Greg Allen will get his second start in center field in as many days. Uh Greg Allen made a nice defensive play going 0 for three at the plate in his oral debut. Uh see if there’s some other notes to go over here other than the ceremony. There are some ceremony notes to go over. Uh a lot of the oral draft picks from uh last month are now uh getting ready to join uh their respective uh what do you call it level of baseball where what whatever uh wherever they need to report. Get it out BW. Uh players like uh number 19 overall pick Ike Irish, uh Kaden Bon Boddine, uh Wah Wahwa, Yahwa, Yahaya. Vahiva, it’s Waha, but it’s Vahiva, right? It’s a W, but he pronounce it like a V. Aloy. I don’t The Hawaiian guy. I don’t know. I’m I’m excited about him. Uh RJ Austin, Colin Yeeman, Braden Smith, everybody, all these names I’ve just mentioned poorly are reporting to Class A Del Marva next week. So there you go. Uh our first pick in this draft will be uh suiting up for the Shorebirds next week and getting their uh professional career underway. Oh, it looks like uh are we in the middle of a are we in the middle of a uh whatchamacallit? Sorry, but there’s a national anthem going on. Oh, they went to commercial. I might have been talking over the national anthem. If you’re watching along, my apologies. I wasn’t looking at the screen. Uh yeah, there really isn’t much else to go over. Uh, surprisingly I don’t see any injury news. Uh, I anything new or anything to update regarding the bevy of injuries uh this Orioles team has experienced. Oh, wait a minute. Oh, okay. So, regarding the uh ceremony uh guests have included uh Buck Shoalter is there, Wayne Kirby, Cal Ripken Jr., Chris Davis, Edwin Jackson, Bud Norris, Melvin Moira, Al Bumbrey, Tommy Hunter, CC Sabathia, Xavier Avery, LJ Hose, Jim Johnson, Dave Johnson, Mike Devo, Tippy Martinez, Nick Marquis, and Jim Palmer. Of course, you know Jim’s there. Master of ceremonies. Uh, right. How you doing there, Charm City Chat? Uh we are getting ready for baseball here in five minutes. Uh let’s see. Also, uh it’s not often I make note of an umpire piece of news, but uh what is uh what is her name? I don’t want to I may uh screw up the pronouncement of this but uh pronunciation I think I’m I meant to say uh Jen Pawal Pawal P A W Jen Pawal help me out with the with the uh how do how do you pronounce her name? Jin Pawal is uh making history today, folks. Uh I guess or did it happen yesterday? Wait, is she already in the field? There she is. Okay, so this is already taking place. Uh we’ve had we’ve had our first female Major League umpire uh a barrier broken 2025. It only took about 140 years of baseball. And here here she is. Jen Powal. First female umpire. Oh, I see. They’re saying regular season MLB game. I guess there’s been a female umpire to do exhibition. I think I actually remember that. Spring training, something like that. But uh congratulations to Jen. Welcome to the uh umpire crew of Major League Baseball. uh you will be treated with the same amount of animosity as everybody else. That’s that’s what you call equality right there. Uh uh make a bad call. You’ll hear it from BW. All right. But good luck to you. I’m sure uh like most folks breaking barriers, it’s not the easiest thing to do. I’m sure she’s going to hear a bunch of garbage from people in the stands. Go. I mean, you know, this has been going on for how long? Uh, but yeah, I’m very uh very happy to see that. Join join that rowdy group of umpires. See what’s going on. All right. Uh, Charm City chat, guess what? If you’re here right now, I’ve got a surprise for you. I got a surprise for the first 50 something people that are here early. Uh, you might have noticed George Chilo, those binoculars look a little different to you. Something look a little bit weird. Pocket watch, you’ve got something special going on there, too. What is the deal? What is the deal? You might be asking, what is the deal, BW? What is the deal? Uh why don’t you take a little dip into your old uh emoji area and see what you find? You know, just see what you find. You might find a new emoji for Jordan Westber. You might find a new emoji for Kobe Mayo. Oh snap. You might find a gunner for Gunner. You might find a castle for Mount Castle. And you might find some beaver for the soon to be called up Dylan Beavers. Hello. And what’s this one? I forget. Oh, this is just uh this is turning on the faucet or the sprinkler or whatever you want to call it. You can pop those in the chat. whenever we get somebody on base, get a rally going. So, we got some emojis to play with, folks. All right, we’ve got a cowzer emoji, a splash zone emoji, the oral bird, old bay, the mountain, which has been updated, Popeye if we ever use it again, Kobe Mayo, uh, a Gunner, Gunner, a Mount Castle Castle, a Beaver, Beavers, a Beaver’s Beaver, a West for Westber, and uh, yeah, little sprink Folks, I spent time on this yesterday. This is not the kind of activity for a 48-year-old man to be spending hours doing, but that’s what I did. Uh, we are ready for baseball. Holy cow. Did I fall behind the live stream? Where where are we here? Come back to me, folks. I might miss first pitch after all this. Wouldn’t that be how it goes? Uh, this game is about to get started if it hasn’t already. Hang in there. All right, looks like I didn’t miss anything. It’s probably going to be a minute or two late with the excuse me, ceremony, but we are now after the um planned start time. Could use some audio here. All right, we are ready. Lawrence Butler is about to step into the batters box and we are ready for Saturday Night Baseball, folks. S A T U D A Y Knight. S A T U R Y D A Y Knight. All right, Brandon Young, first pitch of the ball game is fouled back by Lawrence Butler. We are underway. Game two, the Orioles won game one last night with a final score of 3-2. Pitch inside to Butler. Count even up at 101. Last night, the Orioles got a two out walk in the first inning from Gunnar Henderson and four pitches later, it was three nothing Orioles. They would not score again for the remaining eight innings as Butler swings and misses. The count is one and two, but the Orioles with some uh good pitching and defense were able to protect that lead and three was the minimum required with that 3-2 win. Keegan Aken coming on to get a save with a one-run lead in the ninth. Uh, pitch outside the butler. The count two and two leading off the ball game. Oh, Axeminster. It’s got to be the A’s. Come on now. That pitch is off the plate. It is actually it had the plate but low. But it is a full count now. Payoff pitch from Young is too high. Ball four. That was not close. That is not a good sign on a 3-2 pitch to throw a fast ball and miss the zone that much. Up and away for ball four to the leadoff man here. Yeah, you would think it’s the A’s, but it’s it’s the Diamondbacks. That’s the joke. Get it? Shay Langalers takes one outside. A cutter from Young for ball one. He’s hitting .269 with 22 homers. 49 driven in. Butler can steal a base on you. He takes a pretty good lead over it first. Swing and a miss. Another cutter from Young. That could have been ball two. It broke off the outside edge, but he got a swing and a miss from Langaliers. One-1 pitch upstairs. The A’s are wearing their classic road grays with the golden green trim. And the Orioles are wearing their orange jersey shirts with the white pants. It’s not a full orange out, folks. There’s a called strike at the top of the zone. Langalers with a look back at the ump. Of course, Langalers doing the catching for the A’s. already chirping with the ump a little bit here before he even gets behind the plate himself. You don’t want to upset the ump too much when you’re the other catcher. Uh 22 pitch first a check on Butler. He’s back. So, a pretty nice crowd here considering the match up between two teams with virtually no chance at a October showing. Butler with a longer lead now. He deaks and Langelers crushes this one to left. That ball is traveling. That ball is gone into the splash zone in left field. Langelers hits a line drive shot. His 23rd home run of the season and the A’s are on the board quick. It is two nothing before Young gets the first out of the ball game. Well, apparently Young wasn’t inspired by the Hall of Fame ceremony. Two batters, two runs. here is Nick Curts. Exciting young left-handed hitter, big boy. And he has already made an impact on the league. Uh 10 pitch to Curts is in there for a strike. He’s hitting 307 on the season. 23 home runs, 62 RBI, and an OPS over a,000. Low and away, it’s two balls and a strike. A 2-1 swing and a miss. A splitter from Young got the chase. Young has gotten what strikes he has so far with the help from the A’s batters chasing. That one’s a strike in there. Fouled back. Two and two on Curts. Still nobody out. The A’s with a two nothing lead in the top of the first inning. Ah, Frank has a friend named Richard Herz. Huh. The 22 little bit low and outside full count. Robert with a super sticker. And I think I can understand the feelings he’s having right now. He’s He’s not doing well after that two-run homer. Here’s a ground ball foul. Still a full count on Wow. How much did a Mike pick up that sneeze? Uh, still a full count on Curts. As a rookie, he leads all rookies in every offensive category you can think of. batting average on base slugging, doubles, extra base hits, and he was named the American League Player of the Month last month. Not as rook as a rookie, but just period. He hits this one in the center field. It’s right at uh the guy whose name I can’t remember. Greg Allen. Greg Allen. Come on, help me out, buddy. I’m trying to remember your name. It’s one of those two firstname names. I always seem to have trouble ingraining that into my memory learning people’s names when they have two first names. Uh Brent Rooker is up. So the first out of the ball game, folks. Yay. There’s a called strike on a cutter from Young. Rooker’s hitting 272. What is that on their opposite sleeve? 01 pitch. That’s called a strike. And the umpire helping out Young on that call. That was two inches inside. 0 and2 on Rooker. Interesting topic to bring up there, Robert. This pitch is hitting the center field. Greg Allen. Hey, I remembered your name. I’m starting to get it now. Allen with another catch. Two down in the inning. Brandon Young trying to settle in after getting rocked. Two batters into the ball game. Defensively for Baltimore, Carlson’s in left, Allen in center, Jeremiah Jackson in right, Westber at third, Gunnar at short, Holiday at second, Mayo at first, and Rutman behind the plate. Sodestrom, left-handed batter, hitting .261 at the plate, fouls the first pitch back. He has 21 homers on the season. A lot of lot of pop in this A’s lineup. Fouled away. It’s 0 and2. Scoreboards up. We’re We’re uh two down here in the top of the first. 02 pitch to Sodestrom is low. Tyler O’Neal back on the DL. Why isn’t he in bubble wrap while he’s sitting there in the dugout? One, two pitch is fouled off. Folks, 26 pitches from Young in the inning so far. Number 27 is up and away. Two and two. Man, oh man. Let’s get out of this inning. Young with his head down. Two-2 pitch coming. Swing and a miss. There’s that splitter perfectly spotted as it drops just below the zone. A strikeout for Young to end the inning. Well, the inning ended a lot better than it began. Uh, Young issued a leadoff walk and then a two-run homer to Sha Lingaliers. It gives the Athletics a two nothing lead, though the Orioles have yet to come up to hit. So, A’s two Orioles coming up. Brandon Young hopefully going to have it better after that. All right, Charm City chat, folks. I uh I wrote a community post shortly after the game last night. I just wanted to thank everybody. Uh not everybody that is here now might have been there or vice versa, but uh just want to say thanks for your continued support of the channel at this stage of the season with the team being where they are with uh you know that that fall that fallness coming. It’s still August by by Jove. I don’t know about you, but even when I watched NFL a lot, I I would never watch an NFL preseason game over an MLB game, regular season, even if the team wasn’t doing so good. Preseason NFL for me is uh I’d rather watch I don’t know, inter mural bad mitten or something. Nothing against bad mitten players. Actually, it’s a fun sport. Popular over here. Hey, how you doing there, Charm City chat? Jackson Holiday is about to come up to hit. Let me see if I can run through these names. It looks like everybody’s names have been switched back to longer versions of their names with uh numbers next to them, which is really annoying. I hope that’ll switch back uh to the normal way. Jackson Holiday, first pitch from Perkins is high for ball one. Holidays hitting .251. He’s been in a slump lately though. That ball’s lined and a base hit off. Well, we’ll see if they call it a base hit. It’s off the second baseman. hit right at him, but it was hit extremely hard. 103 off the bat. It ate up the second baseman and trickled into right field. Let’s see how they score this. I mean, it’s hit right at him. They’re going to give Holiday a hit. Wow. We’ll take it. All right. Jordan Westber coming up. Well, West is that way, folks. We got any uh emojis that might help? Maybe you Magic members might have an appropriate emoji for when Jordan Westber’s up to hit. Well, West is that way. Westberg’s hitting .268 with 13 homers and 28 RBI. Oh, well, look at that. Why don’t you? That pitch is inside. One and one on West. So folks, if you’re looking at your badges, Robert has the binoculars that you’re used to seeing. Chilo and George have a different looking pair of binoculars. And pocket watch has even a different look. Swinging a miss by Westber. The count is one and two. Uh if you have binoculars like George or Chilo, that means you’ve been a Magic member for six months. Six months or more. And for Pocket Watch, having been a Magic member for one year full, he’s got the oneear badge. Here’s a ground ball to third. Westber hustling down the line, beats it out. A soft grounder to third. The A’s are going to see if they want to challenge the close play at first. If the call stands, the Orioles will have two on and nobody out. And we’ve got some uh faucet emojis available now for the Magic members as well. I’m turning mine on right now. Yeah, Bill, I noticed that. Yeah, it’s the Bay Bridge. Bay Bridge. But then there’s another patch right above that, a little circular one that I was trying to get a look at. Here’s Gunnar Henderson, folks. How you doing, Bill? Good to have you back. Gunner fouls one off to the right, folks. We’ve got gunner emojis. Look at this. Might it entice some of you out there to become magic members yourselves, folks? Once again, just a friendly reminder. It supports the channel, helps keep it going. It’s four bucks a month. It comes out to 17 cents a ball game, at least during the season. I don’t expect folks to maintain their membership in the offseason, but it is a way to still support the channel if you did. 0 and2 the count on Gunner. The Orioles have two men on, nobody out trying to respond after falling behind two nothing in the top of the first. Uh John, uh below the screen, it should say join right there. The word join. There’s a join button and there should be a subscribe button. Subscribing is free and you’ve already done that. Gunner lifts one to right center field. Backing up, looking up. Looking up. It’s gone. Bye by by the A’s punched. The Orioles counter punched. Gunner with an Earl Weaver special. The Orioles have taken the lead just like that. Home run number 14 on the season. It’s three-2. Folks, you’re going to want to be a Magic member. Look at those Gunner emojis. Come on now. Oh ho ho, it’s mag. Oh, you know, it’s magic. All right, we need some run support for Brandon Young. And run support he has been given as quickly as possible. Three batters, three runs. Here’s Adley Rutman. And we’ve got a new Magic member. Look at that. It’s Daniel Oh, I’m sorry. Daniel didn’t become a Magic member. He gifted five free Magic members, including Dr. Delay, who is another play-by-play YouTuber. He’ll be happy for that. Thank you, folks. Say thanks. 2 and 0 to Rutman and he swings and misses. Say thanks to Daniel for the hookup. Just so much generosity around here, folks. again. Don’t even worry about me. If you’re gifting other people, hooking them up, that’s great, too. Two and one on Rutman. Bases empty after a threerun gunner bomb. The Orioles with a 3-2 lead. We’re in the first inning. This one’s tapped foul. It’s two and two. That gunner home run didn’t get uh spoiled by the balls and strikes display on the screen here, right? None of that got spoiled. I hopeman takes low. It’s a full count. So Perkins off to a worse start than Young. Still looking for his first out. Three runs in. A full count on Rutchman. Ah, the round patch is Ricky. Thank you. That makes sense. Grounded foul by Adley off to the right. Still a full count, folks. I haven’t had a chance. How often do we score three runs in an inning when we haven’t heard one of these? It’s all happened so fast. Payoff pitch fouled away off to the left. We’ll do it again. Rutman is hitting 240 coming into the game. Yes, everybody’s screening is back to these longer versions. So, I’ll try to say hi to everybody here between innings, but it might be a little more difficult. Swing and a miss. Rutman chased one inside. Would have been ball four. That’s the first out here in the bottom of the first. 3-2 Baltimore. All right, let’s get it started. We have George Chilo. I think that’s B Ravens. It says at football. Uh Pocket Watch, Edward Bowers, Bill Ryan. There’s a called strike to Ryan Mount Castle, folks. Mount up. Okay, mount up. Charm City Entertainment. Yeah, I’m surprised Tom Davis wasn’t already in there as well. Swinging a miss, but I guess for off the- field type of inductees that don’t really necessarily retire, you got to wait a little bit longer, I guess. 02 to Mount Castle has swung on and missed. And that is the second out of the inning. Perkins has gotten uh banged up here in the first, but he had no problems with Mount Castle here. A three pitch strikeout. Two away for Kobe Mayo, folks. Any mayo in the chat? Just get it all on there. Just spread it out. blow and away to Mayo for ball one. He’s hitting 218. Four homers and 17 RBI. 10 pitch taken low. Let’s see. Pocket watch. Where did I leave off? Bam. 6956. Michael is here. Frank W. John Melander. Axeminster. Three and 0. The count on Mayo, folks. Frank is here. Did I get you already? That’s a strike right in there. Mayo taking all the way. Travis, how you doing? Uh I’m seeing uh Robert. Here’s the 3-1. Big cut and a miss by Mayo. Full count. Two down. Nobody on. Three runs in. Or Orioles lead three to two in the first inning. QC in says let’s goo. How you doing folks? Folks, if I didn’t get your name, it’s tough because of the way the screen names are looking tonight. Payoff pitch. That’s fouled back. Uh Gary Reebok is here. Pocket Watch once again. Uh Backter Ray Chilo, I got you already right. I think we’re caught up. Good to have everybody here, folks. That pitch is a called strike three. A sweeper at the top of the zone. And that’ll end the inning. But the Orioles, whatever the A’s can do, the Orioles can do better. Oakland a walk and then a two-run homer to start their night. The Orioles get the first two men on. And then Gunner comes up and hits a threerun bomb. And after one inning of play, the Orioles have the lead. It’s three to two. Eight more of these to goo. Janet is here. How you doing, Janet? There’s the recipients of the magic membership gifts. I think I got everybody. That’s just really difficult. All right, we’ll we’ll call it right there. Don Rock says, “Good evening.” I’m I’m all the way down to the bottom. All right, Don. How are you? Good evening. Good evening. I bet you this coffee is room temperature already. Yep. Next half inning. It’s time to freshen that up. Hey there, Erica. How are you tonight? Good evening. Orioles bird watcher rumors around the tubes of you is that somehow you can change our names back in your studio. What is that implying that I changed them to begin with? Do you think putting these new emojis in somehow made everybody’s screen name change? I’m not asking that in a in a you know upset sort of way. More of a just a curious I mean I don’t know. I don’t see how one would affect the other. Hey, there’s Tom Davis. and he’s in the booth with Jim Palmer and Kevin Brown. There’s Tom Davis, folks. I tell you what, growing up, here’s a ball hitting a right. That’s a base hit for JJ Bladeet. First pitch he sees. And Brandon Young immediately gonna have to pitch from the stretch again. Another leadoff man on for Oak for the A’s. Almost said Oakland. Uh, yes. So, Tom Davis, by the way, wearing a very snazzy orange and black tie. Very snazzy. I like it. Yeah. Growing up watching home team sports and Tom Davis always there on the sidelines. I remember Memorial Stadium. He always was perched right there at the corner of the dugout. And I think the thing that I remember most about Tom Davis growing up is that whenever you saw him in the spring, you knew Orioles baseball was coming back. Those early years of home team sports when they would cover spring training, there wasn’t a whole lot of coverage. But what there was, if you were a baseball fanatic and you saw Tom Davis doing a preseason special on home team sports, man, that got you excited. Got me excited. Derell Hern at the plate. Uh, he fouls this pitch away. Let me get a count. It looks like a ball and two strikes. Davis has still got a big old smile. He’s always been a rosy cheek sort of happy go-lucky kind of a guy, hasn’t he? Hern looks at a called strike three. Brandon Young’s first strike out of the night. Well, y’all come back now. you here, man. Oh, man. Oh, man. The years keep on going by. Here is Luis Aas. He has a brother if you didn’t know. First pitch to him outside for ball one. He’s hitting 240. A runner at first for the A’s with one out. The one is pop foul. One ball, one strike. Michael Jordan’s boat is in second place in the White Marlin Open in Ocean City. Michael Jordan is winning sailing competitions. Holy cow. One and one the count on Aras. Check on the base runner. Leeday back in. Young asking for a new baseball. Orioles playing in double play depth. One out, runner at first. the 1-1 pitch to uh who’s up? I should have known. It’s a ball and two strikes. That is strike two to Luis Aras. Of course, the brother. I need to turn this up. It is up. That’s all the way up. Okay, that’s more. Here’s a curve ball that stays high. It’s two and two on Luis Aras. By the way, if you’re a ball player that likes to wear the high socks and you like good fashion, I think the A’s might have the best high socks in baseball. That green and gold stripe look, it’s a nice look. This one’s hitting the right. A long run for Jackson toward the foul line. It’ll drop, but in foul territory for a foul ball. Strike to Honor Aras. It’s got to be a great day for Tom Davis. Congratulations, sir. Two and two. The count on a reus pitch breaks low and off the plate for ball three. Young is about to throw his 40th pitch. He’s only gotten four outs in the ball game. It’s not a sailing competition dummy. I I I Okay, sorry. I didn’t know. Peter, what’s with your attitude, dude? Why so aggressive? Wow. Hey, Charm City chat. Apparently, somebody here isn’t all that charming. Didn’t I even say I don’t I don’t know anything about like sailing or any of that stuff? Like, I don’t know what it is. So, sorry. I see the word boat. I see the word open. Sorry, I didn’t know anything about it. Gio Urchella at the plate. Two on with one out. He fouls the first pitch back. So, Aras got a board with a walk. Sorry, I was distracted by somebody’s completely unnecessary rudeness. It’s a fishing competition. Okay. Thank you, Janet. One to one. Count on our in this beautiful game of bad mitten that we’re watching right now. Swing and a miss. One and two on our shella. The one two pitch is hit to right but right at Jackson. He’s makes the catch, throws it back in. Runners at first and second stay put. Two down in the inning. Young is laboring in this one. 44 pitches. We’re still in the second inning. Not going to be easy to complete five on this pace. Back to the top of the order for Lawrence Butler. He walked his first time up, came in, scored on the Langalers home run. He chases a splitter low for strike one. The Orioles have three runs on three hits, no errors. The Athletics, two runs, two hits, and no errors. That fast ball is high, neck high to Butler. One ball and one strike. popped up on the infield. Gunner is waving off the infielders right behind the bag at second. He makes the catch. The inning is over. Brandon Young had to labor again, but this time he does not give up a run. We go to the bottom of the second. The Orioles lead it 3-2 as Tom Davis gets handshakes from Jim Palmer and Kevin Brown after stopping in on the Masson crew. Folks, we go to the bottom of the second. 3 to2 Baltimore. And uh I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere. Especially if you’re named Peter Hollock. Jerk off. This being Baltimore and all. You never heard of Baltimore style. We are underway. Bottom of the second. Jeremiah Jackson takes a pitch. Called a strike at the knees on the inside edge. 3-2 Orioles. Game two of three. We won last night 3-2. And that’s the score here right now in the bottom of the second. Jackson fouls back the second pitch he sees. It’s 0 and2 check swing. Did he go? No appeal. So no he didn’t. One and two the count on Jackson hitting 278 in the early going of his oral career. One two swung on and missed. There’s that sweeper again from Perkins. That sweeper of Perkins looks pretty filthy. A lot of late movement on it. breaking away from a right-handed batter. Probably would have served Perkins well to whip that pitch out the first three batters he faced before giving up three runs. Here is Dylan Carlson. Switch hitter batting from the left side. He takes a cutter high for ball one. How you doing everybody? Carlson sitting 188. He’s 0 for like his last 30 somewhere in that neighborhood. He has got to get a hit or draw a walk. We’ll take it. It’s 2 and 0 on Carlson right now. No BW Jr. yet. Followed a strike at the top of the zone. Two and one on Dylan Carlson. Dylan, your son. Two-1 pitch from Perkins. Catches the outside corner with that sweeper. Two and two. So, it’s a long uh long labor for your friend there, huh, Janet? Here’s a ball popped up left field. coming in a little bit and waiting a long time. That ball was a rain maker. Catch finally made out there and left and Carlson’s retired. Sodestrom with the catch. Hey, the Orioles have another giveaway tomorrow. It’s another hat, a corduroy hat, folks. What material would you rather have on your head in the month of August than corduroy? Whose bride idea was this? Uh, Greg Allen at the plate. First pitch is a strike. Pitch is high, one ball, one strike. I mean, folks, you don’t want corduroy on your head in August. Don’t Unless you want that thing to stank in about four days. Uh swinging a miss by Allen to count one and two. I mean, give away a hat like that in April when the weather’s still chilly or wait till like midepptember when it starts getting into the fall. Two and two the count on Allen. Two down, nobody on. Bottom of the second pitch. That one’s a high pitch. He gets into it to center. Butler, though, will have room a step or two in front of the track. He makes the catch. Jackson trying to jump on a pitch high. Got pretty good wood on it, but he is retired. and so are the Orioles. We go now to the third inning. Orioles still lead at 3 to2. Does it sing like Eddie Veter? I got a corduroy hat on my head. Oh, it’s just so damn hot out here. Why am I wearing corduroy on my head? Yeah. Hello. Corduroy. Oh, sorry. Oh, yeah. Wasn’t there a Pearl Jam album called Corduroy or something? Is that what the reference is? Or is there a song called Corduroy? There’s a song or an album by Pearl Jam called Corduroy. Right. I only got through like the first two albums of Pearl Jam. Everything they put out after I didn’t really pay much attention to. Just uh 10 and Versus those were the first two albums, right? By the time I got to Vlogology, BW had checked out. I checked out by vitalology. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. I just wanna scream. Hello. Hey, we got some uh we got the pasture out in left field. Too bad Cowser’s on the DL. Shay Langalers is up to lead off the top of the third. He has supplied the offense for the A’s tonight with a two-run homer. And here’s a line drive off of Gunner Henderson into left field. Now, if that holiday hit off of the second baseman was a hit, then this needs to be a hit, too. It’s the same same deal. Extremely hard hit ball right at Gunnar, but unable to handle it. How do you give one guy a hit and not this guy? That was even harder. 107 and a half off the bat of Shay Lingaliers. And they do give him a hit on that. Here’s Nick Curts. He lined out to center his first time up. 50th pitch of the night for Young by the way. Leadoff man on in all three innings. Swing and a miss. 0 and2 high fast ball. Corduroy had to keep bats warm. Good for bat. 02 to Curts. Oh, come on. Chase that splitter. Good pitch from Young on O2. It winds up being low, but that was what he wanted there. Trying to get the chase. One-two pitch goes back there again. That one even lower in the dirt. And the count now even up. Two balls, two strikes. Runner at first, nobody out. The Orioles ahead three to two in the top of the third. Still plenty of sunlight out here. That ball’s hit hard to right. Jackson’s coming in. He’ll have to play it on a bounce and he doesn’t play it cleanly, but Lingaliers the lead runner will still only get one base. It’s backto back hits to begin the third inning and the A’s are threatening now. Brent Rooker next up. I’m going to have a chat here with Young. Might be a good idea to have a chat with the kid. Wouldn’t mind having a chat. Anybody interested in having a chat? No chat. Here’s Brent Rooker. He’s 0 for one. First pitch. There’s a nice cutter on the outside edge for a strike. Young gets ahead. It’s 0 and one. Rooker against the Orioles. 16 games he’s played. He’s gotten 19 RBI in those 16 games, hitting well over 300. That ball’s hit to left. Go. Oh, that’s not going foul. That ball is gone. It is a threerun bomb from Brent Rooker. Still nobody out in the inning. The A’s lead five to three. folks. I can’t wait for Bradish to get back. That’s about all I can say. Orioles are going to have to battle back again. We were down two runs after the top of the first. We’re down two runs again. It’s still early, but uh it’s time to get somebody a little bit warm out there. A long man, somebody if Young continues to struggle here in the third. Tyler Sodestrom first pitch is a ball. Next one is a strike. He struck out his first time up. Yeah, I would say the way this game has started, don’t don’t lose your lunch being back down by two. This could be a back and forth affair. Hopefully, the Orioles need to break that bad habit of putting up runs in just one inning. This ball’s hit to the opposite field. Could be trouble. It is. It’ll get down for extra bases. Solderstrom will hit second base standing. Still nobody out in the inning. You have to get somebody up. You have to. Tony, there you are. He’s tapping his index finger on his opposite wrist. What does that mean, Tony? Look, if Brandon Young quickly settles down and you can get another inning out of him or whatever, that’s fine, but you got to get somebody going right now. Come on. That’s Yeah, four straight guys to reach and everybody’s hitting the ball hard. JJ Blade takes a first pitch strike. There we go. Jerem Heraldo is up in the oral pin. swing and a miss. That splitter of Youngs is good. It is a good pitch. The problem is you need to have more than one good pitch. That’s the problem. Especially when that one good pitch is basically designed to get a swing and a miss out of the zone. Not the kind of pitch he can typically get a called strike three on. Uh Beday fouls this one away. It’s 0 and2. Still nobody out in the inning. Sodestrom at second base pitch. That’s high. That’s the other thing with Young. The few times he gets ahead in the count, the pitches he throws to try to get that out pitch just aren’t close enough to even offer at. There’s one low. So after being ahead of Beday 0 and2, it’s a two- two count. Bed’s already got a hit tonight. Six hits and two walks given up by Young and he’s only gotten six outs. Two- two pitch is a breaking ball high and it stays high. Oh man, we got to get him out of here. We got to get him out of here, Tony. What kills me is that the next batter, no matter what happens, it’ll be a Drew French mound meeting and then the next batter after that maybe. Here’s a ground ball to first. Young will cover the bag with Mayo flipping the ball to him near the foul line. And that will be the first out of the inning. Sodestrom moves up to third base with only one out. So again, don’t look at that event, Tony, as a oh, Young is fine. I’ll just stick with Young. He’s not fine. He just managed to get the first out of the fifth batter he’s faced in the inning. Hern looks at a pitch a foot outside. The infield is in for the Orioles trying to cut down the runner at third. 10 outside again. Oh boy. Two and0 the count on Hern. That’s a strike. Cutter on the outside corner and that splitter that drops below the zone. Those are the two effective pitches for Young. There’s that straight fast ball which has gotten him into some trouble. It’s fouled away. Two balls and two strikes. and his curveball has not worked tonight either in terms of location. It is a big crowd here tonight, folks. I hope uh we see a fun ball game and an Orioles second comeback of the game. And they’ve been down two runs already. Trying to stop the bleeding here in the third. keep it a two-run game after a big uh Brent Rooker home run. A three-run homer. A two-2 pitch. This one’s hit a mile high left center field. Allen will make the catch and the runner at third will tag and come in to score. So that will be an effective sack fly for Hern. Sawestrom scores the run and the A’s now lead it six-3. Two down in the third inning Luis Seras. So we get the final out here. They’ll bring Young back out to start the fourth because the number nine batter will be due up then. I just I don’t like the way they plan things with with pitching changes. 0 and one on Aras. He walked his first time up. Popped up left field chit in the inning. Carlson is there. He makes the catch. Four runs cross for the A’s. They have taken the lead back. Three of them coming on one swing of the bat by Brent Rooker. At the end of two and a half innings, the A’s lead at six to3. Oh boy. Uh I’ll be right back, folks. I got to go see a man about a horse. Folks, you uh Magic members out there, nice binoculars. Nice binoculars. Don’t forget to show off those brand new emojis. I spent time on it, if you can believe it. Uh, right. Why am I having trouble finding my Captain Chesapeake music anymore? Did I move it? Where did I move it to? Where are you hiding, Captain Chesapeake? This is nuts. I must have I must have gotten rid of it by accident. I’ll have to add it back. All right. Well, got to play something while I step away. So, this one’s for Janet. Good morning. First pitch of the bottom of the third is high for ball one to Jackson Holiday. Top of the order here for the Orioles. Next pitch from Perkins high again, 2 and 0. Let’s get the bugle going, folks. We need uh some base runners here. 20 hit on the ground to first and Curts will take it to the bag. Unassisted. Holiday retired. One down. Smoking. Joe O is in the Massen booth right now. Joe Orselac. He was one of the originals for me, folks. the 1988 team. Orac came over from the Pirates and uh in the 88 season, which was notoriously terrible, Orselac had the best batting average on the team that season. 288, I want to say, 286, something like that. Always been a good contact hitter. Not much pop in the bat, but played a great outfield, too. with lots of assists. Led the league in assists at least once. I want to say in 90 or 91 he had over 20 outfield assists. I don’t have the stats in front of me. I’m going off memory here. Uh Jordan Westber’s at the plate. He’s got a count of one ball, one strike. That pitch is outside. Two and one. Come on, Westber. We got those Westber emojis. West is that way. Which way? Oh, that way. 2-1 pitch. There’s a strike right in there. So, yeah, Orselac played in parts of 14 major league seasons. That’s a nice long career for a guy like Orslack. Here’s a hard hit ball on one bounce to third and Westber will be retired. Urella on the play. Two down. Hey, that is the 89 Orioles right there. I know 89 Orioles highlights when I see them. There’s Johnny Oats, first base coach. Oh, here’s highlights of him. First season at Camden Yards. That’s a quick highlight package. Here’s Gunner. Three-run homer in the ball game. He has a count of 0 and one. His name’s Gunner and he’s dating my mom. Up and in. That is ball one. One ball, one strike to Gunner. That ball hit on the ground to first. Curts with his second unassisted put out of the inning. He will take it to the bag. And the third inning is over. This is what I worry about. Did my I just froze. Did I just freeze? Hello, folks. It looks like we’ve got some issues uh with the chat. Uh if you can hear my What error occurred? What is going on? What is going on my stream right now? What is going on? Great folks. It looks like we got some difficulties. I don’t know if anybody can hear my voice. But let me figure out what’s going on. Oh, I think it’s just that’s weird. Okay, let me just reopen this chat. What is going on? I can’t get into my own YouTube studio. Thank you, Bill. I’ve got you up on my second computer where I watch the ball game. I just opened the chat over there and can see it’s still working, but on my main computer that I’m actually streaming from. Uh, everything’s kind of down right now. Uh, yeah. All right, we’ll try this. I’ll just keep calling it, folks. I can’t watch the game and the chat on that computer at the same time. Here’s a ground ball to shortstop by Orello on the first pitch. Gunner over to first in time. One away. Uh Brandon Young is still out here. He gets the first out of the fourth inning. I think he is. Hold on. What is going on with my computer? I cannot None of my websites are o are working on my main computer. I’m sorry. Heraldo is out there. It’s not Young. I apologize. Jerem Herado on in relief of Brandon Young. Young goes three innings giving up six runs. One out with Lawrence Butler at the plate. And on an 01 pitch, he swings and misses. It’s 0 and2. I am completely in the dark right now. What is going on with my computer? That’s low and away. One ball, two strikes to Butler. Another foul ball. Still one and two. I just can’t make sense of it, folks. I got one computer that’s operating fine. It’s streaming the game without any pausing or anything. Like so the internet connection should be okay. Something is wrong specifically with my main computer just won’t open up a website. Uh I might have to reopen Google Chrome all together. That might be my best bet. Two and two the count on butler. I don’t have my chat visible. So, if you guys are trying to tell me something, I can’t see it. Swing and a miss. Butler strikes out. Second out in the inning here in the top of the fourth. All right, let’s just close it all out and open it back up. You want to play games, computer? You want to play games? I’ll play games. I can play games. Shay Lingalers is two for two. He’s hit the crap out of the ball both times. A two-run homer and a line drive base hit. He scored twice. 01 pitch. Swinging a miss. 0 and2. Two down. Nobody on. Top of the fourth. Heraldo looking a whole lot more effective than Brandon Young. It has not taken long to see that. Looks like AJ Tin is in the Orioles booth right now. Swing and a miss. Langalier strikes out. Heraldo with a fine inning of work. I’d like to see him come out and pitch another. Looks like he’s got it in him. All right, shots fired. Offense, the ball’s in your court. Herado came in. Set the A’s down quickly and quietly. We uh need the offense to wake up and I need to get this website working. Come on now. Let’s get this working. All right, so the good news is the website opened up immediately. Come over here. There I am live. And there you are. Hey. Hey. I got to get everything else up. Stand by, folks. Just uh taking care of some stuff. Uh here’s the Yankees checking in. Stick a fork in the Yankees. They’re done, baby. Stick a fork in them. That was all right. Os. All right. All right, let me hear you. A one, a two. All right, a three. Oh, wait. We’re not there yet. Hey folks, I haven’t talked about it yet tonight. The like button. A lot of you have already helped out. 60 plus likes. We’d love to get it up to 100. Although, we don’t have 100 people in the room right now. We do have more people in the room than likes though, so that means 23 of you at least. Could do us all a favor. Right now, we’re between innings. Tap that thumbs up at the bottom of your screen, please. All right. Now, we’re not between innings. It’s the bottom of the fourth. Adley Rutman takes a called strike. Rutman struck out his first time up. Fourth inning of work for Perkins. And Rutchman chases one low. A change up. It’s 0 and2. All right. In the dirt. One ball, two strikes. Is this Let me refresh this. That doesn’t look right. There we go. The one two to Rutchman. Swinging a miss. He chased one low and strikes out. Oh boy. Ryan Mount Castle coming up. My sub count has disappeared. What is going on tonight? Something strange is a foot at the Circle K. By the way, folks, we entered tonight needing just 11 subscribers to get to 3,200. The current total, well, we need 10. We’re at 3190. It just flipped over. We are 10 or less away from 3,200. So, please, if you have not subscribed, we can reach a bit of a milestone tonight. Hey, Mount Castle. That’s a highf fly ball, but it’s not deep. Looked good off the bat with that launch angle, but uh it’s a routine fly ball from Mount Castle to left field. Two down in the inning. Kobe Mayo coming up, folks. Who wouldn’t want a pie in the face from Adam Jones? Kobe Mayo big cut and a miss. Fast ball upstairs. Strike one. Next pitch from Perkins is right down the heart of the plate. It’s 0 and2. Did I just hear the bugle go off at the ballpark with two down, nobody on, and an 02 count? That might be the least opportune time to play the bugle. Hey, maybe it’ll help. 0 and2 on Mayo. Two down. Base is empty in the bottom of the fourth. This one’s hit in the air toward right. Shallow. Second baseman going out. Look how out right fielder calls him off. Makes the catch. Inning over. The Orioles are doing that thing that they do. Scoring in one inning and then going quiet. I mean, we had a three-run first inning last night. Did not score the rest of the game. We had a three-run inning tonight in the first. Have not come close to scoring in innings two, three, or four. What do we have to do to get motivated to try and do something more than one inning per ball game at the plate, folks? Hey, I need a snack. My stomach’s growling and it’s a long way till uh the end of the ball game. So, I’ll be right back. Hang in there, folks. Boy, Harry, you’re full of energy. You look great. I hate to tell you how I feel, but I I’ve had that bad back myself. Also with this cold, it just seems like it’s settling in there. That’s age, friend. I don’t care what it is. It feels awful. You smell like a drugstore. That’s right. I am a drug. You’re not a hypochondric, are you? What does that mean? Over sexed? What? No custard today, but I’m I’m chowing on a couple of peanut butter crackers. Peanut butter crackers, folks. One has been uh one has been eaten and one is in my hand right now. I’m waiting for a time to We are underway. Top of the fifth. Nick Curts will lead it off. First pitch is in the dirt from Heraldo who’s on for his second inning of work. hit hard on the ground the second base. Holiday cannot field it cleanly and cannot recover in time. Another leadoff man on for the A’s. And I think you got to give an error on this one. That ball not hit nearly as hard as the other one to Holiday near the start of the ball game. Here’s a swing and a miss by Brent Rooker. Last time up, he had a three-run homer. And that is now the difference in the ball game. That one’s hit hard down the left field line. That is a fair ball and Carlson is not having a good time of it. Trying to dig that ball out of there. A run is going to come in to score. It’s an RBI double by Brent Rooker and the A’s now lead it seven to three. And I just dropped something on the floor. Oh, folks, folks, folks, folks, folks, folks. 27th double for Rooker on the season. Uh, I’m going to need a lot of custard. We’re down four runs now. Tyler Sodestrom has a 10 count. He’s got a double tonight. That pitch just off the plate. It’s two and0 on him. Oh, Bill. Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill. Can we sit and chat about something to take your mind off the score? Here’s a ground ball to Holiday. He’s over to first in time. One away. Runner at second moves up to third base. Only one out. I don’t mess with Bill. I No, no, no. I don’t mess with Bill. I understand, Bill. I understand. JJ Blade. Hey. Hey. What do you say? First pitch to him is low. A change up from Heraldo. The infield is up and in to try to cut the run down at third. Swinging a miss on a change up. One ball, one strike. Looks like this froze again. So now I got to deal with this freezing every Whoops. Every two at bats. One- one pitch upstairs. Two in one. Two and one on BL. Runner at third, one out. And that ball is swung on a miss. They throw down to third and they nail him there. It’s a double play. Adley Rutman receives the strike three and then fires down to third to pick off Solderstrom who was too far off the bag. Folks, when’s the last time you seen us do something like this? Adley Rutman, high baseball IQ play there. He had something on his mind. Bases empty, two down. Or I’m sorry, there’s still BLE at the plate. I thought Blade was finished. I thought that was the end of the inning. I got to be honest. My apologies. We get the out of third. Blade is still at the plate with a 3-2 count. I’m a dummy. Sorry. Payoff pitch to Beday outside ball four. Inning not over yet. Leay goes to first on a free pass. Here is Derell Hern ball one. Hern has a sack fly. Everybody in this A’s lineup has done something. There’s a swing and a miss. One and one the count. It is the color of night now at the ballpark. Takes a while to get there. Check on the runner at first. He’s back. Pitch from Heraldo is up and in. 26 pitches from Heraldo or is that 28? I can’t see. He’s closing in closing in on 30 pitches for the night. Probably be his second final inning of work. That pitch is low and away. Three balls and a strike. 3-1 Hernand and on the hands popped up out of play. Full count. Thank you, Miss Janet. Yes, tomorrow afternoon folks, the final game of this series, final game against the A’s this season. It’ll be Kade Povich against Morales. And I got to be honest, I don’t have a first name. Let me give you one. Luis Morales on the mound for the A’s, a right-hander, just 22 years old. Still a full count at the plate for her n. Uh, yeah. So, we’re facing somebody who has pitched a grand total of two major league innings. He came in as a reliever, Luis Morales. And tomorrow he’s going to make his first start. Here is a grounder back to the pitcher. And Heraldo fumbles the ball. Everybody is safe. Just a routine little dribbler right back to the pitcher and Heraldo cannot handle it. I mean, you can’t ask for an easier play to make as a pitcher. It’s just like reaching down and picking up something off the ground. The ball’s barely moving. Drew French is out to talk to Heraldo. Is got a fine layer of sweat going now. First and second for the A’s. Two out here in the top of the fifth. A right-hander Corbin Martin getting loose. Oh god. Heaven help us. What’s Martin’s erra after that last outing he had? My goodness. Luis Seras is up next. I would assume this is Heraldo’s last batter either way. Either you get him out and another pitcher comes out in the sixth or you don’t and you’ll get taken out right now. First pitch is low. Ball one to Luis Seras. By the way, I still have Ramon’s button in here. Raone just threw a rock at me. Oh, that’s the other Raone. Sorry. Raone just threw a rock at me. I have to get rid of that one, I guess. Chopper foul. One ball, one strike on Luis Seras. Infield dirt’s too wet. It does look very dark. It does look damp. Scoreboard’s frozen. It seems to be happening a lot tonight after we had that weird again. My uh main computer is acting up tonight. I was able to restart uh the Windows and get everything up, but it might have an issue with updating that scoreboard. So, no problem. Gently reminding me folks to refresh that in-game screen, but if I fall behind, forgive me. Uh, Aria says a count of two and two. Now, it’s what the top of the screen. Gotcha. Okay. Yeah. So basically when I had that issue, everything went everything just stopped updating. I I can’t close my uh streaming software though while I’m live streaming. So these refreshing of uh the scoreboard and the balls and strikes, I might have to do it like every 10 minutes. Payoff pitch to Aras. He’s been up at the plate forever. It’s a ground ball and it’s going to get through a base hit in the left. A tiny hole on the left side and Aras finds it. It’s an RBI single. It’s 8 to3 A’s. Haldo. I mean, at this point, yeah, go ahead, bring Martin out. Let Martin get lit up. Get all the get all of our lower leverage guys out of the way in this one. And let’s try to set ourselves up for a win tomorrow. Get this series. Manelino grabs the baseball from Heraldo. Martins coming in. The A’s have runners at the corners with two down. Another run in. They lead it eight to three. Oh boy, folks. Looks like I picked the wrong night to quit amphetamines. Out of town scores, the Angels up six to4 and the Tigers. Bottom of the seventh. Reds up two to1 on the Pirates. Top of the seventh. Bottom four. Guardians up two to one on the White Socks. Kansas City with a one- nothing lead on the Twins. Top of the sixth. 3-3 tie between the Mets and Brewers. That’s in the bottom of the fourth. Going into the fifth inning, Marlins up four to one on the Braves. Cubs up by a touchdown. Seven zip on the Cardinals. That is in the fourth. Rangers with a one- nothing lead on the Phillies. That is in the top of the fifth at the end of one. Diamondbacks have a one- nothing lead on the Rockies. All right. And the Yankees, I guess, beat the A’s earlier today by a score of five to four. Uh the Nats defeated the Giants 4-2. Red Sox and Padres’s will get getting started here in just under 10 minutes. About a half hour from now, the Dodgers and Blue Jays. And then about an hour from now, Mariners and Rays out west. Here’s your out of town scoreboard, folks. Corbin Martin. There’s that erra. 7.56. Nine appearances. Opponents are hitting nearly 300 off of him. He’s given up a couple of home run balls. It is not pretty. His walks per nine is five and a half. First pitch to Arella is swung on a missed. A slider right in there. Urchella has been quiet. He’s pretty much the only A to not do something in this lineup. He’s 0 for two, the number nine hitter. And he goes to the opposite field. He might have done something. That ball’s going to get down. Jeremiah Jackson with an ill-advised diving attempt. And another run is going to come in here. The play at the plate is late and the A’s are all over us, folks. A two-run double by Gio Orchella makes it 10 to three. Corbin Martin, one batter he faces, gives up an extra base hit and allows two inherited runners to score. Well, whether he stumbled or meant to dive, either way, it didn’t look good. 10 to three. Lawrence Butler, top of the order. And Bill, I’m hoping you’re far far away now. Janet might need an earmuff eighth inning. 01 to Butler is a strike. Wow, even Gunnar double clutched the relay throw for no particular reason. If he hadn’t, we might have gotten him. Outside to Butler. One and two. The count. Butler’s over for two, but he did score a run after walking back in the first. outside by a foot. Two balls, two strikes. The 2-2 had the plate but a little bit low. Full count on Butler. Two down, runner at second. The A’s have now scored two in the first, four in the third, and four more here in the fifth. Payoff pitch, high ball four. Folks, it might be time for BW to break into some show tunes. the way this is going. If you got an 80s one hit wonder song you want a couple of bars from, toss them out now. This is ugly. Here comes Shay Langalers again. Two on, two out. And that is outside for ball one. The politics of dancing by reflex. I don’t know that. I don’t think I do. Swing and a miss. One and oneonone. And I’m I’m upset. It sounds vaguely familiar. Now, if you wanted the reflex by Duran Duran, I mean, I got you covered. Play, play, play. 1-1 the Lingaliers. That one’s lifted to left center field. That’s going to be trouble. Going back, it is going to bounce over the wall into the bullpin for a ground rule double. Lawrence Butler will be forced to go back to third base. He would have scored easily. That’s the only bright spot here. It’s a RBI double for Langelers. It is 11 to three. Butler would have scored easily from first, but he will have to go back to third after the ball bounced out of the field of play. I I know that song. What? Politics of dancing. You going to make me look this up? This might be one I don’t know about. Wow. All right. I mean, credit for picking a a real obscure 80s one hit wonder. This fits the bill, but it is too obscure even for me. Nick Curtz is up. Second and third, two down. I don’t think so, Chilo. It can’t be the most embarrassing loss of the season. Not when you’ve lost games like 24-2 to the Reds back when we had, you know, the entire actual real team, a real bullpen, uh, outfielders that have actually played the position before, you know, that sort of thing. I’d say a game like that would top this. You can’t really have the worst loss of the season from this stage forward with the roster the way it is. In my humble view, one-1 to Curts, swinging a miss on a curveball. It’s a ball and two strikes. Yeah, I don’t know this song and I wish I could play a little bit of it, but I don’t want to get in trouble. February 83, debut single. They look like uh Animotion or is that the band that did uh Don’t Don’t You Want Me? You know I can’t believe it when you say that you won’t see me. Don’t Don’t you want me? Yeah, they got they they’re giving me the uh that vibe looking at these uh photos here. Or was that human league? I’m sorry. Human League. Sorry, I forgot. I was I’m a dummy. Two balls, two strikes. Yes. Animotion. Fascination. Thank you. And then the conversation turned until the sun went down and many fantasies were learned on that day. Two and two on Curts. Two out, two on. More runs in. Pitch low. Full count. Oh boy. Martin’s closing in on 20 pitches since coming into the game. Oh, was that also Human League? Animotion was uh what did they have? What was Animotion? I mean, yeah. I mean, I was very, very young when these songs came out, but I did grow up on them. That’s a called strike three. Bottom of the zone. Curts goes down looking. Oh, yeah. Animotion obsession. Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me? All right, I think we got it worked out. pow. I love 80s music, man. I love 80s one hit one. You can’t find a better decade of one hit wonders than the 1980s. I’m sorry. I mean, they basically invented the term, didn’t they? I mean, you got your one hit wonders of the 70s and the 90s and what have you, but the 80s are the the golden age of the one hit wonder. your Kajigoo, your Dexis, Midnight Runners, your haircut 100s, your AHAs, your outfields. I mean, folks, the end is listless. In the off season, film myself doing karaoke around town. I don’t know. Should I include Should I vlog the part where I get arrested and thrown in jail for public disturbance? We’re going to the bottom of the fifth. The Orioles haven’t left anybody on base tonight. There’s that. Yeah, I know Dexis isn’t necessarily a one-h hit wonder in terms of, you know, putting out content, but you know, come on, Eileen. There there’s not a close second. Madness with our house. All right. Another good one. Another banger. 0 and2 the count right now on Jeremiah Jackson and he takes outside one and two. Jackson leading off the bottom of the fifth. Perkins is out here trying to finish five innings and qualify for a win. He gave up three runs to the first three batters he has seen. He hasn’t given up nothing since. And again, you just have to scratch your head. What is it about this Orio offense where they can turn it on for one inning and then it is just invisible. Here’s a fly ball to right. Jackson will be retired. Bed with the catch. One away in the bottom of the fifth. Spando Ballet. Ha. I know this much is true. I know this much is true. Oh, do I have to drink first? This much is a true. This much is a true Carlson. What if Eileen didn’t want to have that on her Carlson at the plate, one ball, one strike, one out, nobody on. Hit in the air to right center. Could drop. Won’t drop. Butler is going to chase it down on the run and shallow right center. Two away in the bottom of the fifth. Is this game really only half over? I know. I know. I know this much is true. Greg Allen, he’s 0 for one. West End girls. East boys. The West End girls in a western town. Tell you what, the eastern boys, the West End girls. West girls. Hey, we got a 1-1 count on Allen. Two down, nobody on. Hit on the ground toward first. Curts will flip it to Perkins covering the bag. And there you go. Nick Perkins has pitched five innings and will earn his first major league win as a starter. I would assume the Orioles would have to rally down eight in order for it to not happen. West in Baltimore. Bum bum bum bum. I have seen Flight of the Concords. Uh it’s been a long time. Uh the New Zealand duo. I know the one guy, the one that wears the glasses, he went on to playing What We Do in the Shadows, which for me is top three comedy of the 21st century. What We Do in the Shadows. Oh my god, it’s so funny. Funny show, too. Funny show, funny film, funny funny. The bullpen. The bullpen will tear us aart again. The bullpen. The bullpen will tear us aart again. When we’ve got no pitching and the offense is cold, we’ve got a large crowd out here, but the stories getting old. This team’s got to score some before BW will fold. And the bullpen, the bullpen will tear us aart again. The bullpen. The bullpen will tear us aart again. That’s joy division, Rachel. Of course, it’s sad. They’ve lost control. And then they brought in Corbin Martin from the bullpen and they lost control again. And then they caught on Yel Heraldo and he blew it again. They lost control. They’ve lost control. How much of my audience have I lost? Sorry, guys. Brent Rooker is at the plate. First pitch is a strike. Next one is up and away. One and one. The count on Rooker. He’s had a big night. Three-run homer. Had a also had a double and brought in a run that way. So, it’s a four RBI night for Rooker. Swinging a miss. One and two. So, Corbin Martin is out here for more work. He’s had 22 pitches since entering the ball game. A one, two, swing and a miss. Hey. Hey folks, the bullpen. The bullpen is pitching better again. H Corbin Martin got an out. All right. Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Here is Tyler Soldestrom. He’s one for three. Takes up an in for Martin Ball one. He’s got a double on the night. 11 runs on 11 hits for the A’s. Three runs on three hits and an error for the Orioles. Pitch is low. 2 and 0. Pitch is low. 2 and 0. Still a ton of people here, folks. Nobody really has checked out on this game at the ballpark. Line drive up the middle off of Gunner’s glove. He tries to recover and he does. Soldstrom with a liner right up the middle. Gunner couldn’t field it cleanly. popped out of his glove, but luckily the ball did not get far away. He just picked it up and fired after spinning around. And I got to tell you, I’m not sure if Sodestrom is busting down this line on this play. If he was, I think he beats it out. We’ll take it. Two down in the inning. Base is empty. And Andrea is back, folks. gifting yet another yet another magic membership message for you, son. Nice binoculars. I offer you the opportunity to join me in glorious battle and I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. Thanks once again, Andrea. We’ve been giving out a lot of memberships lately. Andrea has been doing it almost every single game. I’ve been able to give away 10 free ones in the past couple of games. Uh, somebody, I wish I could remember your name, apologies, gifted five free memberships since last night. Memberships are flying out there, folks. 0 and2 on JJ Blade. Bases empty, two down in the sixth. That one’s hit on the ground to first. Mayo will flip it. Hurry up. Get on the bag. Corbin Martin beats Beday to the bag to win the inning. Oh boy. The A’s did not score in this inning. That is good, but we are down a bunch. Got four more innings at the plate. It’s not that late, but it is a big deficit. 11 to three. Thanks again, Andrea. Uh, right folks, if we can get that like count on up. Wow, there’s only 68 people here. The view count for the whole game is barely broken a thousand. The numbers just keep going down. My oh my. Oh my. What game is this? This is game number 117, folks. There are 45 more games for me to call. Okay, that is more than a quarter of the season. Sure would be nice to not have everybody leave. That would be great. I mean, if you’re checking out tonight with the score the way it is, that’s one thing. But I’m worried about those that have checked out entirely for the remainder of the season. But I’ve already talked about it. You don’t need to hear about it. You guys really showed some crazy support the other day. I tell you what, when we when I do uh game number 300 in a row, we’ll do a we’ll do like a teleathon if the numbers uh keep going bad here for the next few weeks. Well, not a teleathon. That would that would imply the use of a telephone. I don’t know. A something a thon. All right. Favorite song from every decade decade starting with the 50s. That’s impossible. It’s impossible. That’s impossible. I mean, damn. That’s a lot of decades. First of all, Streamathon. There we go. Uh Jackson Holiday first pitch strike leading off the bottom of the six. Next one’s high. One ball, one strike to Jackson Holiday. Where you at, buddy? I mean, if we’re talking about the age of like rock and roll, I’m assuming that’s why you’re starting with the 50s. Like, you don’t want to hear me say like a Sinatra song or something, right? So, you’re probably going 50s. You got to go Buddy Holly and the Crickets, right? Pick your favorite Buddy Holly song and move on. That would be my 50s answer. Peggy Sue, whatever. What do you like? Perkins, by the way, is on to pitch this sixth inning. He’s up to 77 pitches now after getting Holiday’s swing and miss. It’s a full count to Jackson leading off the bottom of the sixth. Now the 60s. This is going to be weird. I I already know. Uh God only knows the Beach Boys with Space Oddity by David Bowie a close second. I have a lot of reverence for both of those songs. I think they both had an extremely important impact on music in general and they still hold up well. 70s I’m going Ram Jam Black Betty just because it it goes too hard. It’ll never be old. It’ll never be old. And Ram Jam, I mean they had the one song. Let’s get them in there. I mean, you know, you got a lot of great songs in the 70s, folks, but that one pops into my mind because I just know anytime I want to get a pickme up, anytime I want to start bobbing my head or slamming my hand down on the table, I play Black Betty. Westber pops it up. Foul ground. Langalers will catch it near the A’s dugout for the first out in the bottom of the sixth. What era or decade do you put cash in? I mean, I think uh I think like late 50s to late 60s is his biggest like decade of work. Gunner Henderson up one on, one out. He’s one for two. A three-run homer. That’s been the offense for the Orioles tonight. Remember that home run by Gunner to make it three to2? Anybody remember that? Now the 80s. Were we asking songs or bands? This ball is hitting the left center field. Easy play here. Two down. Sodestrom with the catch. Holiday still at first 80s. Well, I’ve always said my favorite one hit wonder song from the 80s is Cars by Gary Newman. I just love that song. It’s really not a great song. I admit it, but I just I just I can’t help it. That song starts playing and I start like walking around like a robot in cars. Here in my car, I feel safest of all. I can lock all my doors. It’s the only way to live in cars. Here in my car, you know, I’m starting to think about leaving tonight. Although nothing seems right in cars. Adley Rutman with a grounder to second and that will end the inning. Holiday left stranded. That’s the first stranded runner by the Orioles tonight. What an ugly game this has been. We move now to the seventh inning. The Athletics lead at 11 to3. 90s. What’s my ‘ 90s song? Oh, I might have to go early 90s with a Pixies tune. I was swimming in the Caribbean. Animals were hiding behind the rock except a little fish. Uh, thanks. Thanks, Janet. Uh, yeah. Yeah. Here comes your man. That song was a huge hit before Fight Club ever used it. But yes, it definitely got a spike in popularity. Where is my mind? By the pixies. I mean 90s is just too hard, folks. That is my wheelhouse. That is my golden age of growing up a young adult. Going to see every show. I knew all the bands. It’s just too damn difficult. It’s just too difficult. And then once we get to the 2000, folks, hell if I know, once the age of the iPod, the MP3, American Idol, and all this garbage started coming out, uh, and rock and roll died. Uh, I just checked out, so I don’t know. Beats me. Cade Straoud is on in relief for the Orioles. His eighth appearance. His RA is only 193. So maybe we got something in this guy. Here’s a popup on the first pitch. Hern pops out to Holiday at second base. Yeah, there are some decent records that came out in the 2000s. Uh, I’m a big fan of a band called Granddaddy. Uh, they put out an album called The Sophomore Slump. It’s a good one. Luis Seras at the plate. He takes a called strike. It’s true. The 2000s, it still had some some leftovers. to hold on to. But that was by by the mid as you really felt the the move away from all the kind of music that I enjoyed to something else. Just this manufactured autotuned garbage. Uh Luis Aras on an 01 pitch fouls it away. It’s 0 and2. He’s uh one for two on the night. Hey, David. 0 and2 on Aras with one out in the top of the seventh. Straoud from the belt and this one’s outside. I mean, folks, we know the 80s and, you know, the 70s, you know, with music and just everything. It’s just better. Look around YouTube. What does everybody They got these channels just reacting to movies from the 70s and 80s, music from the 70s and 80s, cuz it was great. There’s no denying it. I can promise you this. 25 years from now, nobody’s going to have a reaction channel reacting to songs and movies from 2020 or 202. It ain’t happening. There’s not enough of them. It’d be a a channel with about three uploads putting on the Ritz by Taco. Can I sing it like uh Young Frankenstein? Here’s a ground ball to third. Charging as Westber throws on the run in time. Nice play. Oras retired. Second out. Top of the seventh. Put on the If you’re blue and you don’t know where to go to, why don’t you go where fashion sits? Here’s Gio Ora. Two down, nobody on that pitch outside. Here’s the 10. That one’s lifted. A broken bat and a leaping grab by Jackson Holiday. Jackson got some air and he was helped out with that broken bat slowing that baseball down. The inning is over after a liner caught by Holiday. It is seventh inning stretch time and boy is my complexion getting pinker by the minute. The sun is out back here. It is time, folks. If you’re still with me, and only 51 of you are, holy cow, this channel, this was not how it was supposed to go. Mike Elias, if there’s any Orio fan out there that has more reason to be pissed off at you than me, let me know who it is. Because not only are you hurting me as a fan, you’re hurting me as somebody trying to keep an Orioles channel together. Please turn this crap around or get the hell out of town. Until then, folks, it’s time to throw some cakes on the griddle. Get them cakes up in the chat, folks. I’m a country boy. I’m a country boy. Thank god I’m a country boy. Thank god I’m a country boy. Life ain’t nothing but a funny funny rhyth. All right, 85 likes, folks. It’s going to be a lot. It’s going to take a lot. 86. Can we get to triple digits, please? With sugar on top. All right. I think I came up with a pretty good list. Again, I’m just going with my gut. If I sat down and had the full list of songs out in front of me, I’d be like, uh, well, I might pick this for this reason, this for. But like 70s, perfect example, Ram Jam, Black Betty. It’s like the 70s is full of great songs, but you can’t pack more in the 2 and 1/2 minutes of a track than Black Betty by Ram Jam. I’m sorry. It’s It’s short. It’s sweet and it’s uh something you can hit the replay button on over and over again. Michael Kelly is on to pitch for the A’s. He’s got some good numbers. 1.77 erra in 20 games. Ground ball by Mount Castle off of Nick Curts who moved to his right to field it and the ball bounces all the way towards second base. I think that’s going to be an E3 on Curts. Mount Castle reaches to lead off the seventh. Folks, what if we chipped away? What if we chipped away? Three here, three in the eighth, three in the ninth. We win 12 to 11. Does that sound like a plan? Here’s Kobe Mayo. Called strike. Mayo is 0 for two. Swing and a miss. A hard swing at the sweeper. It’s 0 and2 on Mayo. Hey, who remembers this 80s hit? If you can name the band without looking it up, you win Charm City Chat for the night. Cuz when you’re in doubt and when you’re in danger, just look all around. and I’ll be there. I’m sorry, but I’m just thinking of the right words to say. I know they’re not the way that I planned it to be, but if you wait around a while, I make you fall for me. I promise you. I promise you. Come on. Who’s the band? Hurry. Hurry. One hit wonder. I know you know the song. Oh, you forgot, didn’t you? You forgot. Mayo strikes out on a two- two pitch. One out in the inning. Somebody’s googling. You’re you’re you’re cheating. It’s called the promise. I think it’s called The Promise. Oh, you’ve heard it, David. No way you never heard it. That song was a hit. Hey, do you ever see the movie Napoleon Dynamite? That’s the song that they end the movie on. I know you know that song. This ball’s hit by Jackson to right center field. It’s got a lot on it, but not enough. It’ll be caught on the track in front of the ground screw shed. Two down. The band When in Rome, the song The Promise came out in 88. Here is Dylan Carlson. He’s 0 for two. So, yeah, that’s the song they play. Remember, David, at the end of the movie when uh Napoleon and the the girl who does the glamour shot photos or whatever, the girl he likes, they start playing tetherball and it just the shot tracks back and they start playing a song. That’s the song. You know that song. Underrated one hit wonder gym. Uh there’s a defensive change for the A’s. Max Schuman is in at third base for Gio Ora. Just now seeing this with two down in the inning. Carlson at the plate with a 2-1 count. A runner at first. Pitch from Kelly. Popped up on the left side. Long run for everybody into foul ground. The left fielder makes the catch. Another quiet inning. The Orioles strand their second base runner of the night. Three runs on three stinking hits. We had three hits last night. We’re playing the A’s and we’ve played seven innings plus another full game and we’ve got a grand total of six hits. Six hits and they all came in clusters. Where would we be if those hits weren’t all hit together? in one three-run inning. Well, we would have lost last night if it didn’t h work that way. Ah, man. There’s there’s just no excuse. Like Holiday, Gunner, Westber, Rutman, Mounty, Mayo, that’s twothirds of the lineup that aren’t a bunch of scrubs just filling in because we sold half the team. Those are guys that are expected to contribute. By the way, Gunnar is going to be taken out of the game. So, the Orioles have conceded. They have raised the white flag. Gunner is being lifted for a defensive replacement for the rest of the game. Luis Vasquez will play shortstop. So, if the Orioles were to bat around again, Gunner’s turn comes up and instead of Gunner, you get Luis Vasquez. Folks, if I were you, I would start to look ahead to tomorrow’s rubber game. And can we win that? Carl, I don’t know if I really advertised a major comeback much. Oh, you’re talking about three runs here, three runs here, three runs here. Yeah. Yeah, it’s not looking good. Now it’s going to have to be what? Five runs here, and then five runs here again or four and four to tie it up. Top of the order for the A’s. Fifth time through. Butler is 0 for two. He’s walked twice, scored a run. Grant Wolfrram is on the pitch now for the Orioles. 01 pitch is a slider in there for a strike. It’s the nightly Grant Wolf room appearance. Yeah, well, I don’t dabble in the world of likely, Carl. I like to walk the razor’s edge of improbability. That’s right. I go for the improbable. One and two on Butler. Pitch. Swing and a miss. Wolf from strikes out Butler. Hey, remember these buttons? Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Is it a full moon tonight? And they brought out the wolf. All right. Shay Langalers. He is a triple shy of the cycle. Three for four. Big swing in a miss. 0 and one. Could we sign Naylor from Seattle next season? Well, we’d have a bit of a log jam, Rachel. I think the Orioles were okay with moving on from Ryan O’Harn because they’re expecting Mayo and Mount Castle to split duties at first, but I do agree. I wouldn’t mind having a left-handed bat that could play first in DH. Now, Rachel, I know you don’t like Ryan Nota. Uh, let me think. Naylor. I like Josh Naylor. He actually steals bases. It’s the weirdest thing. Josh Naylor is very slow in terms of sprint speed, but he knows how to steal bases. Here’s a 2-1 pitch that bounces in the dirt. 3-1 on Langaliers. Next year is Mount Castle’s final year. So, you know, the Orioles could look to try to package them in a trade or something in the off season. And, you know, then maybe that would open up room to go after a lefty bat that kind of replaces O’Harn. And then you can use Mayo as the new Mount Castle and a guy like Naylor as the new O’Harn if you get my drift. All I know is is that the Orioles have got to spend way better than they did last year. It wasn’t so much about how much they spent, it’s how they spent it. Bull count on Lingaliers. is high. That is ball four. The last young star the Orioles signed to a contract extension. I’m guessing you’re talking about Adam Jones. I know that’s just plain ridiculous. The Red Sox extended Roman Anthony. The guy has had about two months of major league experience. They’ve seen enough and they know if they allow him to cook in the bigs any longer, the price tag for that extension is only going to go up. So what do they do? They lock him in. They lock him in. I’m pretty sure Gunner’s agent is a Scott Boris agent or a Scott Boris client. That’s the problem with Gunner. Oddly though, maybe aren’t as enthused to uh keep him around, but um he’s not a Boris client. Yeah, Gunnar’s a Boris client, so you’re not going to get him to extend. I mean, it’s not about the Orioles unable to extend their players when it comes to a Scott Boris client. That’s just the Scott Boris policy. Yeah. And it’s always been that way with Boris clients. And you know, he’s got the track record to show that that’s what you should do. Don’t stay with your club. You will get paid more in free agency. So, I don’t know how we The only way you do it is to just be a bidder in that free agent market when the time comes. Hey, Nick Curts strikes out. Wolf from sets down Curts pretty easily. Well, y’all come back now. You hear? Well, let’s put it to you this way. Whatever value Mount Castle has, it’s twice as much value to do something with him in the off season and only half the value if he do it at the trade deadline next year. Because again, he’d just be a two-month rental at the deadline next year. I think it makes more sense to figure out a way to move him out in the off season. He’ll have more trade value by offering a full season to whoever he might go to. I think that would make the most sense. Uh two and0 the count on Brent Rooker. Two down, runner at first for the A’s. Make it three and 0. That pitch is high. Now, the guy I want to see the or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or O or Orioles extend now is Trevor Rogers. It’s not even close. The guy has now he’s now in the double digit starts. It’s not a fluke. Even if there’s some regression, even if his ERA doubles, you’re talking about an ERA under three. It’s we got to lock him up. And if you wait any longer, it’s only going to get more expensive if he keeps doing what he’s doing. Here’s a popup to Holiday on the outfield grass. He makes the catch and the inning is over. Bottom of the eighth coming up, the Orioles still trail it by a lot. I just look around and I’m seeing a lot of good players that are the teams are recognizing the talent that they have and locking them up. I mean, Bobby Whit Jr., perfect example. Bobby Wood Jr. and Gunnar Henderson, you look at like last season and how they were basically neck andneck in terms of MVP caliber players. Uh but the Royals, they they they struck early. They locked him up before that that See, they locked him up super early. They knew what they had. And you can’t tell me the Royals are a team that, you know, have a much bigger budget or playing a bigger market than Baltimore. I think we’re pretty much on par. Hey Matt, thanks for the super chat. I’m sorry. Matt with the super chat or sticker. I guess it’s a sticker. There’s nothing no copy here. But thanks for the uh channel support there, Matt. Appreciate it. And I want to thank you very much for that. I really do. Uh they did, David, but they also locked up, you know, an arguable top three, top five player in the game. And yeah, I would if I’m building a franchise today and I’ve got the first pick in like a fantasy draft, I’m probably taking Bobby Wood Jr. cuz he’s still young enough where he’s done he’s done so much already improving. There might be some guys that are younger that might you might be able to get more, but yeah, I’d be f Yeah, I’d pro I would start my franchise with him. Uh, Greg Allen at the plate. 0 and1 the count. Kelly on for another inning of relief for the A’s. Allen 0 for two tonight. 0 for five. Make it 0 for six on a ground ball to second base in his Orio career. One out in the eighth. Feels like the Orioles uh have not been in this game for a while. We’re still 11 likes short of 100, folks. Can we get one more and at least guarantee 90 something? Jackson Holiday, fourth time up tonight. Pitch outside by a foot, foot and a half. Ball one. Kansas City is pulling less numbers than we are. We got a nice turnout tonight, but I’m looking back at oral attendance figures in the vast majority of games. We’re not We’re not drawing 20,000 giveaway games. We might get in the 25 range, but uh we’re not exactly crushing it in the turn style department. There is a line drive. Is it a fair ball? Foul ball down the right field line by Holiday. I’m still trying to figure out why did the Orioles move on from their hitting coach that who was the hitting coach in 2023 in the first half of 2024. Remember when this offense was ranked among the best in the league and then we decided, nah, we need a new batting coach. Why? Somebody remind me. Two and two on Holiday. Hit on the ground. Second base. This will be the second out. Holiday’s one for three now on the night. and Jordan Westper coming up. Oh yeah, I would expect the attendance to be even lower on an average night these last couple of months. It sucks. Westber takes inside ball one. West is that way, folks. Well, West is that way. Let’s see a Westber emoji in the chat from somebody. Well, West is that way. Please let me know those emojis are hitting cuz it’s apparently the only good thing about tonight’s stream is that we’ve got new emojis to play with. One the count on West. Two down, nobody on. Bottom of the eighth. Oh, absolutely, Matt. I’d love to. Hey, Jace. How you doing, buddy? Pitch is low to Westber. Two and one the count. Jace, you are an Orio fan, I hope. Let me tell you something, Jace. You’re going to love this team whether you like it or not for many, many years to come. Two-1 pitch to Westber is low. Count is three and one. You know what? We got Jace becoming a fan. And we got Westber with a 3-1 count. It makes me want to reach for the hat. Westber hits it to deep center field and it’s caught on the track for out number three. Inning over. We go to the ninth. Orioles down by a touchdown and a two-point conversion. I turn this light off now. That looks just as bad. Let’s go with that. All right, folks. Yes, Jace. I want you to hear something. Jace, listen to the sound of this voice right now. I was your age once and my first introduction to the Orioles, I was watching a team that was the laughing stock of the league. Started the 1988 season 0 and 21. 0 and21. network news was talking about us on a nightly basis in that final week of futility. And that’s when I fell in love, Jace. It’s called the underdog. That’s what we are. We’re going to We’re going to win, Jace. I’ll tell you this. You got a better chance than I do of being around for the next Orioles pennant. So if I don’t see it, Jace, you better. All right. That’s your mission. Once again, folks, the Orioles had their Hall of Fame induction uh for the year tonight. Pregame ceremony. Tom Davis, Joe Orselac, Adam Jones have joined the brick wall out there near Boo’s Barbecue Pit. All right, Tyler Sodestrom looks at a called strike. Wolfrram is on for more work trying to finish out the pitching part of the night for the Orioles. He’s on 20 pitches right now. Here’s a check swing roller foul. 0 and2 on Sodestrom. He’s one for four. Be back in a sec, folks. I want to grab a lucky. Enjoy a lucky for these final few minutes of the ball game with you. 02 swung on. Did he get a piece of that? How did he get a piece? Still 0 and2. It’s a strike out for Wolfram folks. Well, y’all come back now. You hear? One away for JJ Blade. Hey, what do you say? I may go lay in the hay over by the bay. What do you say? First pitch strike to BL. You talking about tonight or up and in on Blade? One ball, one strike. The comment about Mariana Rivera that happened tonight. When did that happen? That sucks, man. The Yankees. Here’s a ground ball and it is a broken bat bleeder that dies on the infield. Nobody has a play. It’s a infield hit for JJ Blade. Did that rhyme? Uh, wow. Yeah, the Yankees, folks, I got to tell you, if the Yankees wind up missing out on the playoffs after the way their season was going, to me, that is I mean, they’re going to finish with a with a better record than us, but I think it’s a a worse a worse situ like as a fan. Like, at least for us, two two and a half months in the season, we were already beginning to understand uh what the reality was here. Yankee Yankees two and a half months ago were sporting one of the best records in the league. They have absolutely collapsed. Brandt Wolf from I guess uh had an issue after that last pitch or did that ball hit off of him? I can’t remember. Anyway, the trainer and everybody is watching him throw a warm-up pitch or two. see if he’s okay. And yeah, remember the Yankees went out and loaded up at the trade deadline and in classic fashion had a game where pretty much every new player they had brought in on the deadline all contributed toward blowing a a game that they were up by like I don’t know five, six, seven runs. It’s tough days in the Bronx, folks. Here’s Hern. He’s 0 for three. He does have a sack fly though. 01 is outside. A curveball from Wolfrram. One ball, one strike. Oh, and Jace, don’t smoke. It’s a bad habit. Here’s a ground ball foul off to the left. If your dad ever catches you, you’re in big, big trouble. I’m not kidding. Don’t mess around. I’m assuming your son is not an adult yet, Matt. Uh, check swing appeal. didn’t go two and two on her knives. Wolram’s up to 30 pitches since coming on. Curve ball lined base hit into right field. Leay will stop at second. The hits keep on coming for the Athletics. Ah, grandson. Thank you, Janet. A little whippers snapper. 13 hits pounded out by the A’s so far tonight. You say underqualified axe, but I mean how much more at some point even if you’re terrible or you know incompetent, you can’t really say unqualified when he’s had the job now for what, like six or seven years? Like maybe he Look, I agree with you. He’s not good, but he’s had plenty of time to learn the ropes of managing Major League Baseball team. He’s just not good at it. Uh two and0 the count on Aras, but I know what you mean. I’m not trying to argue. The Yankees uh two and 0 on Aras. popped up and out of play. Yeah. Well, Bam, I think we might have one of those managing our team right now, too, but with a whole lot less experience. Yeah. popped up. I will say this, the Yankees, correct me if my if I’m wrong here, didn’t Buck Sho Walter start his managerial career with the Yankees? And wasn’t he pretty darn inexperienced before they brought him in? Right. That was the pretory years, right? Or am I thinking of the Mets? Am I thinking of the Mets? I might have completely lost it. This pitch has popped up in foul ground. Mayo’s going to make the catch. Two out in the ninth before they went to cotton jerseys. Now, now I’m worried that uh I said something really stupid. I’m I’m pretty sure he started with the Yanks. Yes, he did. All right. All right. Just making sure, folks. I’ve already gotten four or five things wrong tonight. I’ve already been called an idiot once. Just trying to avoid it again. He did go on to manage the Mets after us for two seasons. 2022 2023, man. Back to 92 was his first season managing back, right? The cotton jerseys, right? because uh was it Kramer or George that came up with the brilliant idea to change the jerseys. One-1 pitch to Schuman is getting his first plate appearance as a swing and a miss. Schuman came in to replace Gio Orchella at third base. One, two, pop, foul, out of play. We’ll do it again. We’re in the ninth inning, folks. It’s been all Oakland since uh the first or the second inning, I guess. They jumped out to a two- nothing lead in the first and in the bottom half of the inning, a three-run homer from Gunnar made it three to2 Baltimore. And that was as good as tonight got. It’s been awful since nine unanswered runs by the A’s and the Orioles have just three hits on the night. One since that first inning. I mean, folks, one hit since the first inning. One two and two on Schuman. By the way, I will credit the Yankees for having a nice bobblehead giveaway. They had a Castanza bobblehead where he’s hiding under the desk. That is hilarious. I’m not one to collect Yankee memorabilia, but if I ever did, that would be the one thing. That castanza bobblehead. It doesn’t really bobble, though. I guess it’s under the desk. I don’t know. That’s true, David. That’s true. So, in reality, the Orioles have basically gone an entire game with no offense once we started recording an out. I guess we should have just never made an out. David, two and two on Schuman. First and second, two down for the A’s. We should still be batting in the bottom of the first right now. It should be something like 53 to two. This ball’s hit in the air in center field and we’ll be caught out there by Allen for the final out. Folks, we’re going to the bottom of the ninth. Yay. We’re down eight. We are down eight. And I’ll be right back. He met a strange friend in the Chesapeake Hey folks, Gunnar Vasquez will lead it off in the ninth. Perfect way to start a eight-run rally. Luis Vasquez, who is now in the game, has been now for an inning or two, will uh hit for Gunner to lead off the ninth. Three grand slams. Only two to tie. left-hander Hogan Harris is coming on for the Athletics to try to close it out with an eight-run lead. 30 appearances on the season. It’ll be Vasquez to lead it off for the Orioles. She’s hitting a robust 063. 063. That’s my blood alcohol level, folks. That one is swung on a missed. 0 and2 foul back. No balls, two strikes. Pitch inside. One ball, two strikes. Am I displaying a insufferable amount of hubris? My apologies. Curve ball swung on a miss. Vasquez is down on strikes. One down in the ninth. Tomorrow afternoon game, Sunday afternoon, 1:20 p.m. We’ll start the stream. First pitch shortly after 1:30. Rutchman takes a pitch inside for ball one. Folks, we’re gonna have a short postgame wrap up here, I think. Am I blushing? It’s all that alcohol, folks. I am beat red. I’ve been drinking nothing but uh Mad Dog 2020 all morning. Two and one on Rutman. Who starts for us? Popped up down the right field corner into the stands. Kade Povich will be on the mound for us there. Carl Slim. Two balls, two strikes on Adley, one out in the bottom of the ninth. Harris deals and a ball hit to short. That will be a routine out made by Hern. The Orioles are down to their final out, folks. Ah, Hall of Fame night. Uh, this place is starting to clear out quick. Here’s Ryan Mount Castle 0 for three. He did get on base uh due to an error. Big cut and a foul ball in the first pitch here. Yeah, this place is emptying out quick. Down to our final out and we have to bat around without making an out. One and one on Mount Castle. Hey, last chance to have a little fun with those brand new emojis you got there, Magic members. Remember that fun we had at the beginning of the game? We were talking about Hall of Fame inductees. We watched the Orioles rally with that Gunner Homer. We’re playing with the brand new emojis. Remember the fun we were having. Oh boy. Mount Castle fouls it away. It’s a ball. Two strikes. Two down in the ninth. Nice. Beaver in on the hands. Mount Castle fouls it away again. Still one strike before this game will end. Oh, a little girl got a baseball. That’s great. Could you take the phone out of her hand? She’s 6 years old. Does she need to be looking at a phone at the ball game? What are you possibly looking at on your phone? You’re 6 years old. How about you hold the baseball and you put the phone down? There’s a base hit by Mount Castle. A worm burner in the right center field. And listen to the crowd. They are cheering because it’s the first base hit the Orioles have had since there was sunlight. The game will continue. Kobe Mayo coming up 0 for three. What are you talking about, bud? I’m bad luck. Okay. Yeah, it’s me. 0 and one on Mayo. Lowing in. Carl wants a bugle. Foul ball straight back. One ball, two strikes. Orioles again down to their final strike. The one two to Mayo. Breaking ball in the dirty lays off. Two balls, two strikes. Folks, we are eight subscribers away from 3,200. Eight. We’re not going to get there tonight. I’d love to get there tomorrow. It’s going to take some work. Swing and a miss. Mayo strikes out. And there is your ball game, folks. You knew it. Uh probably 90 minutes ago, maybe longer. Final score, the Athletics 11, the Orioles three. A’s pounded out 13 hits. We only managed four. Both teams had one error. The A’s left seven men on base. Baltimore three. Orioles go back to 11 games under 500. The A’s move up to 15 games under. And this series is split at one a piece going into tomorrow’s rubber game. Uh yeah, so Brandon Young just right out of the gate gave up two runs to the first two batters he faced. Gave up uh uh the leadoff man got on every inning. Gave up six hits and two walks in three innings pitched. Yamil Herado went an inning and two/3 gave up three hits in a walk. Corbin Martin, two hits in a walk in his inning in one/3. Both of them gave up a run. Cage trout with a scoreless inning, nine pitches, nice and clean. And then Grant Wolf from the final two innings did okay. He did give up three base runners in those two innings, but he struck out three. Didn’t give up a run. Straoud, his uh RA in the bullpen right now is 1.74. Uh it might be time to bump them up in the uh pecking order here. Maybe use them uh in a higher leverage situation than down eight in a ball game like this. Uh the four hits individual hits from Holiday West, the three-run homer from Gunner, and then Mount Castle had that single there in the ninth. Otherwise, everybody was hitless and it was uh pretty uh pretty ugly to watch for the most part. Just a few uh two or three sort of highlights or things to hang your hat on, I guess. Attendance was 30,000 plus tonight, folks. That’s the good news. 30,078. Game time 2 hours and 44 minutes. I don’t think we’ll get 30,000 tomorrow. We’ll be lucky to get 20, especially if it’s buttass hot out there in the middle of the afternoon. What’s the weather looking like for Baltimore tomorrow? Let me see. 87 degrees for a high. That’s not bad. It’ll get into the 90s this week, but uh upper 80s tomorrow and Monday. The Mariners will be coming to town on Monday for a three-game series. Then we get an off day and we hit the road. Uh folks, I’m hungry. I’m going to go get myself something to eat. I can’t. Man, we didn’t get to 100 likes. We didn’t even get to 1500 views. The numbers for the channel are falling, folks. With 44 more games to go, it’s a little bit uh I can’t front. It’s a little bit depressing, but there’s not much I can do about it. Got to hold on hope. Uh, all right. That’s going to do it for me, folks. Let me see if there’s somewhere I can send you. And uh hope you’ll be back for tomorrow afternoon’s game with K. Povich on the mound. I want to thank the uh mods in the charm city chat for keeping the chat nice and charming. Save for that one guy. And uh thanks for those. Uh somebody had gifted five magic memberships. Andrea came in with another magic membership gift. Some super chats rolled in as well. Thank you so much for supporting the channel everybody and hitting that like button. It got up to 94. It’s possible. Although if anybody there are people that watch the game at a later time for one reason or another, but if they get a look at what the final score is of this game, I’m not sure if they’re they are going to watch, but maybe maybe we’ll cross 100 by the time this uh stream has been sitting out there overnight. All right, folks. I am uh spent. This was not fun. I hope uh you have uh you know what is it? It’s not even 10 o’clock on a on a Saturday night. Hurry on out the door and try to go have some fun. Get into trouble. Just uh get enough sleep so you’re ready for tomorrow afternoon. Okay, great. I’m going to send you now to Thomas Fitzpatrick. He’s calling Red Sox Padres’s. Thanks for being here everybody. Have a good night until tomorrow. Well, this has been the bird watcher watching another bad game today. Uh, I’ll chirp at you later. Take care everybody.
