Let’s start making you some money with this matchup between the Seattle Mariners and the Tampa Bay Rays. For the Seattle Mariners, it is Brian Woo listed as the starter in this one, while the Rays have Adrien Howser listed as the starter in this one. And I’ll admit, I wasn’t necessarily going, you know, in um all in on Brian Woo going into his last start because I thought that he necessarily wasn’t pitching all that well. And I thought that maybe it could have been a rough outing for him against the the Chicago White Sox who hadn’t been playing well going into that start. And the White Sox did get to him early. I think it was one- nothing after the first or second inning of that game. But Woo held it down. Seven innings of two hit, one-run ball. It was a one, it was the one solo home run that he gave up. had nine strikeouts in that start and pitched very very well in that game. And now you take on a Tampa Bay Rays lineup that has been really inconsistent in terms of their offensive production. You look at their numbers against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks. This has been a Rays lineup that is, you know, just outside the bottom five in baseball, hitting 213 against right-handed pitching. They’re tied for bottom five in baseball, actually. Their team OPS numbers are second worst in baseball. Isolated Power numbers are bottom five, too. So, this for me is just a bit of a tough spot to really expect a whole lot from the T from the Tampa Bay Rays in this game. Now, I was initially leaning towards the under in this game because I did think that, you know, it could have been a decent spot for Adrien Howser, who was the bright spot of that White Socks rotation. He had pitched extremely well for the White Socks. However, we’ve started to see Hower kind of tail off a little bit. He was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays, the trade deadline. But in his Rays debut, he gave up five runs on 11 hits over five and two/3 innings of work against the Los Angeles Angels. It was a loss in that game, 5 to one. And now I just don’t know if the Rays are going to have enough offense off of Brian Woo to back up Hower if he struggles. I think the Mariners can get to Adrien Hower for a few runs in this start. Now the Mariners hitting 206 against righties in the last two weeks themselves. not necessarily anything special and their, you know, team OPS numbers aren’t great as well, but the price here is because of Brian Woo. But the thing is, I think it is justified because, like I said, I think Woo is the better option in this game. You know, his his home splits and his road splits have been outstanding regardless of where he’s pitched, especially at home this season. A 5-2 record, a 2.17 RA across the nine starts, a two, excuse me, a 169 opponent’s batting average. And when you look at the record for the Mariners as a team in those nine starts, they’ve been doing a good job of winning those games. They are six and three in his nine home starts this season. So, I’m going to roll with the Mariners here. Whether you lay the minus 170, you go after the run line with the Mariners, I just think it’s all Seattle here off of uh off of Adrien Hower.
