Boston Red Sox vs San Diego Padres Condensed Game Recap – August 10, 2025

It’s game three in San Diego in a rubber game as the Red Sox sent Brian Beao to get the series victory. The Padres’s winning in 10 last night. A grinder of a game. They even up the series here at Petco Park. Happy Sunday everybody. Thanks so much for joining us. I’m Dave O’Brien. My partner is Lou Maloney. Tom Karen is down on the field. Tough loss for the Red Sox last night. Luba Masata Takoshida. Two more hits. Are we starting to see a hot run by him? Yeah, hopefully. I mean really all year long guys have gotten going right hot and cold but we haven’t seen it from Masa at all really. Last three weeks have been filled with ground balls all over the infield. Well not so much out here in San Diego. Four for eight. He’s got a home run. He’s got a double and everything as you’ve seen. Eight batted balls. Well, four of them have been in the air. Starting to get the ball in the air a little bit. Good numbers. Three for three with a double off Dylan CE. You would love to get Masataka Yoshida hot and he has been the last couple games. Time to get down to Tom Karen on the field and TC Connor Wong playing every day lately with the injury to Carlos Narvz. Yeah, Obi and Narvay ready to go today, but they want Wong behind the plate because he has become the primary catcher for Brian Beo and it’s been working. Beo got the win in his last start on Monday. Just one unearned run in six innings of work. That was his 10th quality start in the last 11 outings. Wong told me he’s been impressed by how much deeper Beo is going in each start now and how much maturity he is showing as a 26-y old pitcher. Shot toward the alley. Long run Durant trying to get there. Can’t. That’s going to drop in and roll all the way to the fence. Bine is in. Tatis is in. and a rise strikes to make it two nothing San Diego. That’s something you usually don’t see much of him. Kind of like, you know, driving the ball in the gap perfectly placed kind of right in between both guys. This little force seamer up maybe didn’t get it up enough. See Durant going back breaking Roman Anthony. Duran’s the closest to it. He just can’t outrun the baseball with two outs. Both guys are going to score. That’s a big blow. That’s an area where you know you look at Beao’s season the way it has gone. Runners in scoring position 189 with two outs 171. I mean this is an area where he has really beared down and executed and got out of any kind of jam. The inning started with a couple of punch outs. It seemed like a meaningless two out hit and then 02 to Tatis. He drilled him through for a base hit. Story do missed it. Here comes the run. The throw will be cut. Run does score. Play at second and he is out. But the run got across home plate before the out at second base. So that counts. And San Diego adds another. They lead it three to nothing at the end of five. He’s quality start hitter right here. If he gets him, he gets one. If he doesn’t, he doesn’t. 2-1 and a fly ball left field. Anthony. Long way to go. Still coming. That’s going to drop in. That’s going to bring in a run. Machado is in to score. That is a long single by Xander Bogarts to make it four to nothing. Some of the hits have been pretty painful today off of Ryan Beo. And this one falls in. Yeah, good pitch. Had a bogey way out in front off the end of the bat. Again, he’s up in the air a long time, but see Roman kind of playing in that left center gap. Unable to run this one down. This little separator now 4 nothing. His 43rd RBI. Came into the series 0 for 14 against the Red Sox in his career and is 2-2. Way too high. That’ll fill up the count. So now he has to throw a strike. for me on deck. They lead it for second and third. And the 3-2 pitch and he is going to walk him. That’s three consecutive Red Sox walks that forces in Xander Bogarts and makes it five to nothing. I saw this the other night. So the idea is to get him back out there, get right again, not to kind of continue a pattern that we saw in his last outing because you really kind of rely on him to be a multipending guy to help you put up zeros. Oh, Red Sox trying to climb back in this thing. Roman against Alice, one for two, an infield single and a ground ball to short. It skips away from Xander Bogart. So run is in. Durant scores. Here comes Story. two-run score. Bogart’s looking to turn two and didn’t get one. It’ll make it five to two and still nobody out. Well, that’s a big play. And you think about it, two outs, man on third, get one in, right? You need a lot. You’re down five nothing. This is that little slider. He hits it hard at Bogey, but he just misplays it. It’s probably a double play ball. Instead, you get two out of it. goes down there with one hand try to get the quick flip. Two two again kind of golfs that off into left field. Anthony to get underneath Tatis Jr. with the tag and he comes on in. So Hearn will pick up his 46th RBI and that’ll make it six-2. And the sack fly and to wait and Xander next. And now the 2-2 to Raphaela and swung on and missed. force strike free as that ends it. Red Sox go on order in the ninth inning. San Diego wins the game six-2. They take the series two games to one. San Diego’s a good ball club. Came here. He really didn’t swing it. Ran into some big arms. Not just in this rotation, but in this bullpen. Take two out of three here from you. And series continues on to Houston. Going to take a series out there. and the ace on the mound on Monday

  1. Red Sox are terrible – can't hit, can't pitch – starting and especially bullpen! And get rid of Alex Cora – yesterday was totally on him – pitcher up to 90 pitches and bases are loaded – even morons understand – take him out!
