Marlins vs. Braves Game Highlights (8/10/25) | MLB Highlights

Well, Saturday was a history making day throughout major league baseball. You’re getting a look right now at Jen Powell, who yesterday became the first ever female to umpire in a major league baseball game today. I guess you could say some more history. Jen will be behind the plate calling the balls and strikes here in game five. So many women here to support jim Powell and some of them getting emotional. Saw a couple of women outside of the stadium holding signs hoping to catch a glimpse of jim Powell as she came in to work today’s ball game. We take a look at Joey Wentz who was going this afternoon for the Atlanta Braves just his fifth start overall and he has pitched very well. And here we go, Joey wins. Likes that first call from jim Powell. He’ll take it and I wonder if they’re going to take the baseball, I guess not. I thought that maybe that would be kind of a big one. There we go. Now we got it figured out. Yep, they are going to authenticate it and Jim Powell forever get to keep that ball to the Hall of Fame comes and tries this game in front. We’re just kidding. The Hall of Fame gets all the great stuff. 01 coming and that is a broken back. Ground ball gets underneath, went. It hits the bag at second. It eludes Albes. That should be an infield base hit for X for Xavier Edwards to lead off this game that Eli White records. The first out of the ball game here is Kyle Stour Stour to center field, Harris drifting back and he has it just a couple of steps in front of that green wall two down 22 here grounder. That’s fair. Altson has that one and that secures the out nice job by matt and that ends the top of the first inning no runs, one hit in the top of the second, no score. Derek Hill seeing Wentz Joey Wentz kicks and deals that one cracked out to left center field profar on the move. He’s looking up that thing slams off the base of the wall. Profar comes up firing his throw to second. Not in time. Derek Hill smokes a double out to left center and that’s a two out base runner in scoring position for the fish. So a runner in scoring position for the catcher Liam Hicks, there’s a line drive hit softly into right field down for a base hit White is up with it. Throw coming towards the plate is off the mark. Now, a throw down to second by Murphy gets into center field hicks is on his way to third. The Marlins lead one nothing. I thought Eli was going to have a play at the plate of his throw but it was to foul territory on the first base side. So the Marlins grab the one to nothing lead. Now, here’s so, Noah, these guys are coming out swinging today, Harris back and he has it, but it is Miami one. Atlanta cal is on the mound for the Marlins this afternoon. He’s four and nine with a 521. Er, a this season that is hit hard to center field. Derek Hill cut it on, he runs it down one way. Nice job. One out bases envy for Nacho Alvarez. He just looking for any kind of contact after Alvarez in game one was zero for four with four strikeouts, broken bat for Nacho Alvarez. But that bat will die a hero and there’s the Braves first hit first baserunner. Today there’s a swing and a miss and a strike out for Cal. That’s his first of the day, the first strikeout by either side this afternoon to center on the line and Hill’s got it side retired. Braves lead. Leave a man on here in the third top of the fourth inning here at Truest Park. Dan Myers is going to lead things off. He’ll be followed by Eric Wagman and Derek Hill here in the fourth as the 21 is hit down the right field line. That’s an extra base hit for Dane Myers. White retrieves it on the warning track. How about a leadoff double for Dane myers? That must feel good Wagman hitting just 176 over his last 33 games without a multi hit performance over that stretch as well. Nacho Alvarez tremendous. That was a tough in between hot but he picked it clean. Derek Hill already one for one this afternoon. He doubled in the second and scored a run and that 32 fastball misses high ball four. He laid off some nice pitches to be able to work that walk a double of ground out and a walk and here is liam Hicks that will do far in all and out. It will be jerks and profar. So no, how lined out he’s zero for one with a line out to center field. Nick Allen will take this and throw across to first wins. Gets out of it. No damage done in the bottom of the fourth inning one. Nothing Miami. And the theme of this series for the Braves at least in their wins is coming from behind, done that a few times and looking to do that again today, matt Olson leading things off for the Braves high and deep into the jet stream that’s blowing out that way and that baby is going to go moon shot for matt to tie the game of the four. It just felt like it was going to be his day, especially in a 20 count here. Talked a little bit about what you’re seeing with the win. But for matt Olson, this is just a good matchup with Cal Quantrell Fly ball pitcher and he crushes it to right center field. Top of the order for the Marlins Edwards hernandez and ST one pitch, one out Joey. We certainly is enjoying that. That’ll bring up Hernandez check out. Yeah, he went, Chad Woodson right there on it. Hernandez is down on strikes. That is the first strikeout here for Joey Wentz. Here he is two for 18 in this series. I think the called third strike is coming a good spot for it. Get out there. Yes, there it is some frozen pizza, jim Powell punching out Stowers to end the top of the fifth and Tyler Phillips is on a pitch for the Marlins. So Cal Quatres afternoon is over. He worked four innings, he threw 47 pitches, 30 strikes and there’s a swing and a Miss by Eli White on a sweeper. And so Phillips has come on, struck out the first batter that he faces two, one pitch. Look out, hit him, caught him on the elbow guard and Nacho will head to first Alvarez leads him first one out. There’s a swing and a miss on a sweeper second strikeout of the inning for Tyler Phillips and there’s two away top of the order. Pro Far jerks and pro far deep to right. Get over his head. Yes. Off the glove of Hernandez and it drops. The Braves are going to get the lead. Alvarez comes all the way home from first base R B I double for Jeren Pro. Bar Braves on top 2 to 1 that was ripped to right field. 15th RB I for profar. This guy Matt Olson got the scoring started for Atlanta with that solo homer to lead off. There is a curveball in the dirt there at the corners for the big bear outside. He walked it bases loaded. Sean Murphy flied out, popped out the pitch in the dirt gets away from hicks. It’s behind him. Here comes pro far he scores standing up, everybody moves up 3 to 1. Atlanta second wild pitch of the inning for Phillips. Thank you very much. 11 check swing Dribbler Phillips can’t field it cleanly now. He finds it with bare hand and he throws out Murphy at first good recovery but the Braves have their first lead of the day. Braves three Marlins one into the bottom of the seventh inning. Top of the order for Atlanta starting with J Pro. Far is one for three with a AA run scored in an RB I. Is this gonna be another hit for pro? Far two hit game to go along with seven walks in the series. Profar has been productive from that top spot in the order. Here’s Olson who’s homered here today, who they believe the next year another one out to left center profar was moving, so he’ll get to third easily. Ozuna at the plate. Four RB I last night for Ozuna with the two homers looking to add to that total here. 2 to 2 to Ozuna. He that his third in two games and it opens it up here in the seventh. That is his third home run in the last two games and he takes the trot in his career home run. Number 2, 94 big three run homer since July 25th, Michael Harris leads the majors in hits and he slams one to deep right field here rising back to the wall and out of the ballpark, Michael Harris crushes one into the chop House that was absolutely hammered and Michael Harris continues his tear since the all star break and makes it 71. Braves in the seventh and the Braves enjoying a big lead as we go to the ninth inning. So hopefully just three more outs that Jim Powell has to work today and finish off a strong first game behind the dish and the new pitcher for the Braves will be Tyler Kinley. We saw him in the double header yesterday and a called third strike on the outside corner got a slider over and one down here in the ninth inning and here is Jacob Marcy. This should be out number two. Ozzie has it on to matt Olson first five game series in three seasons for the Braves coming to a close here, 0 to 2 line to left profar has it. And the weekend fish fry is complete. The Braves take four of five for the Marlins the final today. 7 to 1.

  1. I'm torn because I really want that #1 overall pick in the upcoming MLB draft. If we don't get it, then we absolutely need Baldwin the win NLROY so we get an extra 1st round pick. It'd be nice to get both the #1 overall pick and the extra first though because our farm system desperately needs the injection of big time talent.💯🪓

  2. Please just give them an earpiece and tell them what to call. This is so stupid. Why do we need them calling behind the plate anymore with their eyes. Shes doing as good as all the ither guys but why not just get rid of this issue

  3. The MLB avg. for strikezone accuracy is 88.9% accuracy this season, the highest it has been at this point in the season (since strikezone accuracy has been tracked). Her final report card was 91% (139/152). Respectable, but with room for improvement. I would take her 1000 times out of a 1000 over Angel Hernandez. The misses look bad, but she is on par.

  4. As long she was the best minor league ump available, I have no problem with the selection. Women used to have to work way harder than men just to get the same opportunities. However, there have been a lot of incidents the last few years of sports organizations putting under-qualified women in historical situations for positive attention. It does make one speculative, but we'll have to see her ump scorecard as the season goes on.

  5. Imagine when she starts ejecting men from their own game. She’s not going to get away with all those blown strike 3 calls forever. What if there’s a brawl? It could get ugly quick out there. No man deep down wants this.
