Mets vs. Brewers Game Highlights (8/10/25) | MLB Highlights
Mets have dropped 10 of their last 11 games. They are now just two and a half ahead of the Reds in the wildard race. They occupied the third spot in the wild card race. Quinn Prester. Not too many guys have been better in baseball than Quinn Priest in these last 12. Brewers are 12-0 the last 12 games that he has taken the ball with a 247 RA 22. Hit him 94 miles an hour off the leg and Lindor will take it. I’m sure he’s in in a little bit of pain, but right now he’ll take it because he’s on base to start this game with Juan Sto coming up behind him. But a chance here in the first inning. There he goes. Pitched is taken outside. Throw down to second. The slide. He’s in there safely. Francisco Lindor swipes second base. The Mets have stolen now 33 straight bags safely. Ground ball up the middle pass the dive of Andrew Monisterio and that’s going to score one. So, a hit with runner in scoring position for Juan Sodto and the Mets quickly on the board. It’s one- nothing. Well, they steal a run there on the stolen base from Lindor. Two outs. Sodto over to third base. Jeff McNeel. Three out of eight in the series. 1-1. Line toward right field. That is down for a base hit. Jeff McNeel gets it done with two outs. He brings in Sodto and the Mets have a two nothing lead in the first inning. This is the kind of inning the Mets have been begging for, having lost six games in a row. So, two nothing Mets. And for Quinn Prester, he’s allowed a pair of runs. He hasn’t allowed any more than two runs in any start since the 4th of July. Bottom of the first inning in Milwaukee. Two nothing Mets. Shawn Mania for the Mets. Two switch hitters in the lineup in Collins and Perkins. And Collins right away stings one into the gap left center. Isaac Collins continues his hitting wave. It’s a one out double here in the first inning. Two-2 swing and a miss. Got him. Big strike out for Maniah on a fast ball away. Brewers leave a man and Shawn Maniah has a shutdown. Bottom of the first and New York leading it by a score of two to nothing. Mets trying to snap a six-game losing streak. Brewers have won eight in a row. It is their third eightgame winning streak of the season. First, it’s Batty and Terren getting their first swings. And now a timer violation called on the pitch here. I believe Prester stepped off and and that means I think Batty’s supposed to hit a home run here, right? Yes. If last night has had any indication hit high in the air, left field Collins going back to the wall gone. Well, maybe a pitch late but right on Q. Brett Batty goes deep to left and it’s three nothing Mets in the second inning. Oppo Taco for Batty. His 12th home run of the year. A careerhigh in counting. Well, they have caught Priest today. Well, Keith asking you shall receive. But that was a sinker that was up in the zone. It was leaking back over the plate. 253 is the number that Alonzo is looking for next. He hit home run number 252 in his career last night. Down a base hit past the sliding lock and up against the wall. Alonzo around first trying for second. Throw to second is not in time. Pico sliding in with a one out double. And the Mets have insurance and scoring position on Alonzo’s 28th double of the season. Ronnie Moraicio now one for one. swung on, hit through the hole right side. Base hit. Alonzo’s around third. He’s chugging to the plate. The throw by Lockidge is not in time. Jansen’s throw back to second. They tag out Mauricio, but not before Alonzo scores. It’s a splitsecond decision. You saw how he peakedked over at Petalonzo to see where he was. If he allows that ball to travel and then goes into the baseline a little bit, maybe there’s a play on Pete Allonzo, but that ball was kind of tailing to his arm side. Mullen’s grounded out to second base to end the first inning. And he swings first pitch and skies one to deep left center field. That ball is out of here. First home run as a New York Met for Cedric Mullins. And the Mets offense has come alive here in the first four innings. It’s 5 nothing. They are just lighting up. Quinn Pierre Contrus rounded out to short back in the first. He’s 0 for one. It’ll be Contras Vaughn and Perkins. And he turns on the first pitch. On his way back, NMO. It’s gone. Contras homering in back-to- back games. Bernie hits the slide. Brewers on the board. Five to one Mets. That’s a guy the Brewers would love to get hot right there. All right. And there’s a start in this ball game trying to come back. So now two outs. And here’s Danny Jansen. Rips one down the left field line. That’s going to go to the wall. Masterio can run. He’s going to be held around third. Got a scamper back and he’s just back. This is a big opportunity for the Brewers here. Trailing 5-1 and the bases are loaded for Joey Ortiz on the ground through for a base hit. Monasterios in. Here comes Jansen. He will score and Joey O delivers again. Two RBI single with two outs and two strikes. And it’s a ball game once again. 5-3 Mets. Jansen and Monisterio are going to come in and chat with Priier before this sequence with Alonzo hitting him do a double play in the first inning and then double down the right field line in the third. Prester to Pete looped in the air shallow right along the line. Lockage in can’t get to it. It drops, pops up and kicks off the sidewall. Sotto is in to score and Alonzo goes to second with another double. 63 Mets in the fifth. So Pete with two doubles today and the Mets have added more in the fifth. Well, there haven’t been many starts like this for Quinn Pier. Matter of fact, the most runs he has given up in a start as a Brewer, five earned runs. One of those days for Quinn. He’ll be back. Contras homering his last time up. Two of his last three at bats he’s gone deep down the right field line. Got some barrel on it. That’s deep. It is up and fair and out. Contras is smoking hot right now. His second home run of the game. His third home run in his last four at bats. 65 Mets. Don’t look now. The Brewers at one point in this ball game trailed five to nothing. So for William, three home runs in his last four at bats. This is a tough matchup with Rogers. Long pause by Rogers. Contras. A bouncing ball that’s going to sneak through. A base hit. And here comes Collins to third. The throw comes in. Collins is safe. Wow, that was risky. It pays off. And the tying run is 90 ft away as William Contrarus delivers his third hit of the game. Mets won’t challenge. And here’s Andrew Vaughn with a chance to tie the game. Can Rogers get a two ball? Pitch. Swinging a ground ball towards Batty at second. He’s got it. Flipped to second for one. Lindor back to first. Double play. 463. Rogers dials it up and he escapes the seventh inning with the lead. Hall deals a one-two and Mauricio chases another. That’s been the game plan. A strike out for DL Hall. First out of the eighth. Got him. Hall gassed him up with a fast ball right down the middle. 51 pitches into this one. BA. He is getting stronger. Ground ball right side. Vaughn has it. Flips to Hall covering. They get Batty and it’s a 123A in Ryan Hley pitching for the second straight day. It’s his 32nd career appearance against the Brewers. Bryce Terra has been a Met killer. 3-2 the count and he takes ball four. Picture perfect at bat by Bryce Terra. Hits it sharply through for a base hit. Danny Jansen coming up with his second hit. Helley in all of his appearances with the the Mets, they have lost every one of those appearances. There’s a very well-rested Edwin Diaz. He’s waiting his turn. Two two swinging a miss. He struck him out, brought him down to a knee with a slider. Helley retires Lockidge. Two down in the eighth. Well, the man of the hour, Joey Ortiz, had the two-run single back in the fourth inning with the bases loaded and two out. Can he come up in a big situation against Ryan Hley? The pitch, ground ball right side. It’s by Alonzo to right. Terang comes in to score and the comeback kids strike again. Joey O delivers in the clutch again. 66 in the bottom of the eighth and here comes Carlos Mendoza to the bullpen. Unbelievable this place. The Brewers just do not stop. So Diaz comes on first and second, two outs now. Trying to keep it tied. Anthony Seagler with two on against Edwin Diaz and he throws it to the screen. Both runners will advance. The Mets bring on their closer here with two outs in the eighth. Vinnie and his first offering is a wild pitch and he hasn’t pitched in six days. Jansen not blessed with great speed but he’ll be ready to run on a wild pitch. 3-2 pitch ripped toward first caught by Alonzo falling down to the dirt. Sigler slams his helmet into the grass. Alonzo’s catch ends the inning and it’s going to be Nick Mirs on the pitch this ninth inning trying to get the Brewers back to the dugout tied. Roll over ground ball. Joey O one away. 3-2 pitch into center. Lockidge got a good jump on it. Makes the catch. Two away. And that’s ball four. So pitching him very carefully. You put the go-ahead run on base and you face Brandon NMO. Here’s Sats and throws to NMO. Fly ball into left. Not deep. Collins under it. Catches it. Bottom of the ninth is coming up. Collins. Contraras and Vaughn. Collins tonight or today with two hits. He’s two for four. Two-2. Fly ball to deep right. It is back. Sodto back out of here. Isaac Collins walks it off against the Mets. You can’t make it up. Diaz gives up his first run since June 2nd. And it comes in this building against the hottest team in baseball. And the Brewers have won their ninth straight game. 76 your final score. Who’s writing this

Im enjoying seeing these young men contribute in different sutuations. Different players for the Brewers. They must go into the pkayoffs mentally believing in each other. So far, so great.

Man these brewers are something special
Brewers are gonna win it all
It feels like some people in the front office watched Moneyball and figured out that shelling out $$$ isn't the answer when there's no chemistry with the other players.
