The Milwaukee Brewers have won nine straight games. They’re 21 and4 overall in their last 25. And they’ve got the best record in the major leagues. Milwaukee will be a big favorite tonight at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates, sitting at minus 190 on the money line. The total sits at 8 and a half. And Jose Quintana will start for the Brewers. And there’s reason for some concern with Quintana. You look at his home away splits, he’s been far better on the road than he has been at home. Uh if you look at his last four starts, 3-1 with a 450 erra. So, uh he hasn’t really gotten away unscathed in recent starts. Uh he is 9 and4 with a 3.57 RA overall, 1.34 whip. Um you know, just okay. Uh we’re not expecting Quintana to come out and completely shut down the Pirates here. But uh you know the Pirates on the road. I’m not sure I can get behind them either. He hasn’t been that great overall, but even worse on the road. and the Milwaukee Brewers have hit them pretty hard. They’re batting 344 over a combined 61 at bats. Um, you know, you you look at this Milwaukee team as good as they’re they’ve been playing. I know some of you will say, “Well, they’re due for a let down and how do they get up uh for a home series versus the Pirates, but when they’re 21 and four in their last 25 games?” You could have said that for the last month. In fact, at the end of July, they swept the Dodgers, then they go on the road at Seattle and take two of three from the Mariners. Um, if this team was looking to have a let down, they probably would have had it already. I I want to be on the Brewers here, but no way I’m going to lay that price on the money line. But with Heene starting for the Pirates, I think the Brewers will get their runs. They uh they rank second in the majors in scoring since the All-Star break. They’re averaging 6.2 2 runs per game. Team total today, four and a half. We’re going to take the Brewers team total over that four and a half.
