Let’s start making you some money with this matchup between the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres’s for the San Francisco Giants. Logan Webb listed as a starter in this one. Wow. The Padres’s will counter with Ud Darvish. And um you know the thing about this matchup is that U Darvish came back and if you followed U Darvish over the last couple seasons, you would know he’s technically a bit of a slow starter. It takes him a little bit of a time to get going after he, you know, comes back into the fold, but once he does, he’s usually fairly solid. Now, I’ve heard rumblings that Darvish could get moved in this series. So again, keep your finger on the pulse. We’ll try to update that for you on Monday’s morning show if that proves to be the case. But I still think that whoever the Padres’s throw out here, even if I mean it wouldn’t be Nick Petta because he started in that B in that series over the weekend. But I’m saying I think you could throw out a lot of pitchers here, but the Giants could still hold their own in this series because yes, the Giants have been a team that struggled offensively over the course of so far the second half of the season, but they’ve started to string some wins together. They did well in that series against Pittsburgh. They won two of three in New York against the Mets. They they’ve been picking up some wins against the Nationals in this series. And now you send Logan Webb to the mound who had two great starts against the Pirates back-to-back. 21 strikeouts in two starts. Pitched well home and away. And now he gets back home for this start where he’s pitched well. And he faced the Padres’s in the same ballpark earlier this season. And it was eight innings of six hit shutout baseball with seven strikeouts. Alluding to my point though, the Padres’s ended up winning that game one to nothing in extra innings. One to nothing. And it’s because the the Giants offense could not back up Logan Webb in that start. But I think the Giants are playing well enough now they could get Web some run support. At home this season, still a sub3 RA at 2.78, a 5-2 record. You look at the uh Giants in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching. This has been a Giants lineup that like I said has been able to do some damage, hold their own. They’re hitting 263. The isolated power numbers are just outside the top 10. The team OPS numbers are top 10. The same could be said for the Padres’s do have a better batting average, better team OPS numbers. Slightly less effective in terms of isolated power, but 17.4% strikeout rate, but I just think that web at home has the edge over U Darvish here if it is Darvish or whoever that the Padres’s are going to be able to throw out here. And I think the Giants bullpen is good enough to be able to hold it down when we get to that stage of the game. I just don’t think that there’s enough of an advantage for the Padres’s in that part of the pitching staff to be able to take advantage of it and to be able to to hold it down for the win here. So, I’m going to roll with the Giants in this one on the money line and that’s going to be my free pick.
