Dolphins in Depth: Did Dolphins get redemption against Bears?
The whole time I’ve been doing this Dolphins in depth podcast during training camp, I have told you these quarterbacks, they’re all right. It’ll work. Doesn’t look that bad. But I did warn you that backup offensive line, boo boo. And I think you saw it in the Dolphins first preseason game, a 24-24 tie with the Chicago Bears, who had previously beaten up the Miami Dolphins, which motivated Mike McDaniel, or actually it was demanded of him that their starters would play so that they get a little bit of redemption. Isaiah Smalls, Miami Herald columnist is joining me. Isaiah, do you feel like the Dolphins I appreciate it. Thank you. Do you feel like the Dolphins got the redemption that they needed? Uh, not necessarily because the best redemption would have been that W, right? I know it’s a preseason, you don’t it don’t really matter, right? But I think the best redemption would have got that W. Um, and I more than that, I think the best redemption would have been scoring from the one yard line. That would have been, you know, a cool little feat because obviously we talk a lot about the Dolphins’s short yardage issues, right? And just kind of see that play out, you know, on that, you know, on the first drive, you know, what after 15 plus plays like they’re really cooking and it’s like you get there and then all of a sudden, you know, old habits die hard. Wait, wait, wait. It’s not old habits. It’s things that they’re working on that they clearly haven’t fixed. Now, let me ask you this question, Isaiah. Let me ask you this question because you’ve been watching training camp. You’ve watched all of the practice. Yeah. I know you would argue on with me. Alexander Madison is back number two. Yeah. No, I would argue. I would argue. I know you wouldn’t argue with me. He probably might be the best shorty guy. I would not. The numbers say that, too. Okay. So, we’re trying to test Jaylen Wright. I agree. I agree. And when I heard when I heard McDaniel talk about it afterwards, he said, “I wanted to get that on tape.” That it made a little bit of sense because it’s a corre it’s it’s it’s a it’s a corrective moment, right? Because I know kind of Jonah folded on one of those uh on one of those blocks, right? So, look, I’m not I’m not mad at it. I just would have wanted to see that improve. Like, we we know that this is a that this is a it’s a work in progress, and that’s fine. I love I love that they didn’t kick any field goals when they were in that short year. Yeah, of course. They’re trying to change that identity. I agree. I agree. I agree. Fourth downs. I I I’m a fan of the way that I know McDaniel got a lot of flack for his play calling, right? Uh you could see it on Dolphin Twitter. People were pissed, right? Why? I don’t I don’t personally know. I I I think maybe it’s the the you know I I I truly I truly think that it’s the the three straight plays from the two from the two and then the one right that really had people like in a funk the four straight they had a problem with the four straight runs what did you want him to do throw the ball like he’s always done and no I agree with you and that that’s to me one of the things that I saw is a is a point of change right he’s he wants to lean on this offensive line wants to lean on the run Because fast forward to December when you’re in Pittsburgh and you know it’s a little bit cold. I want this team to be able to run the ball, right? And the only way you can can do that then, right, is getting these hard, you know, getting it done. I’d rather they fail now than fail on the goal line in Pittsburgh, right? So that’s that’s my thing. I think he’s trying to develop a new identity with this team. And I’m not I’m not necessarily mad at it. I’m not. No, I’m not. Uh I don’t want to be overly critical because it’s exhibition game one. A lot of these people are young players now. You know, I how I could be so I’m not, you know, but Jaylen, right? I need more. I need I need more. I don’t like and and everybody who knows me knows this. I don’t like when you gifted things based on your draft status or based on your money or you know, and I get it. Alexander Madison is probably hurt now. That man got slammed on his head. Um, man, boy, that thing, he might be wearing a neck brace in Detroit. I don’t think he’s going to be practicing. That looked horrible. And I did not see him in the locker room afterwards. But Jaylen, right, bro? You got you got to give me more. There’s been a whole lot of talk this off season, a whole lot of work that you put in. Why am I not seeing it? Why nine carries for 16 yards doesn’t cut it? I agree with you. I I And it’s not just it’s not just that, man. I just I even know there’s more there. Why am I not seeing it? I you know, and I’m this isn’t about Ali Gordon because I’m not I’m not impressed with what he did yesterday. Um, I haven’t been impressed with his training camp. Um, but like these young backs, y’all want to get it. We need to see more. We need We need We We absolutely need to see more. In my opinion, if this Dolphins team can protect Tua and run the ball, you put that with this defense, you put that with these playmakers, you have 10 wins now. protection. I don’t know because I’ve been warning you about these backups. They are bad and I don’t know if it gets better. Like can Liam Iikenberg come to the rescue? Ask me that or asking you that. I think he can provide a momentary band-aid. I think because I I I look look as bad as Liam Mikeberg was last year, he was dealing with injuries, right? So I want to I will I will just for the for the sake of this argument, right? Considering the what we seen from the backup offensive lineman now, I will and then what we saw of him during the time split with Isaiah Win towards the end of the year where he looked better, right? I’m not totally, you know, out of the mind that like look like without like they need to get rid of Liam Iikenberg, including with everybody else. I I don’t I’m not of that agreement. I do I do not agree with that. Liam would be hand and yes, clearly the best offensive lineman of of all the backups. I agree. There’s no doubt about it. I’m at the point where I’d even play him at tackle because it’s it’s a little it’s a little hot mess right now. And I think that versatility that you that you mentioned, right, because he can play guard, he can play tackle, he can even play a little center, right? So I I think that versatility is why you why you keep him around and why he is the best backup so far outside of maybe Andrew Mer, right? You know, who obviously is dealing with some injuries, but yeah. Yeah. No, no doubt about it. Um, let’s talk about what we liked from the preseason game. Obviously, you didn’t like the tie. I’m I was fine with it. Um, you didn’t like the Wait, wait. You wait. Why? You know why I didn’t like the tie, right? Do you do we You had multiple chances to win the game at the end and nobody Yeah. Nobody Nobody was willing to step up to the plate. So, that’s the reason why I don’t like that. It wasn’t. And look, I heard what Tua said. Don’t overreact, right? It was Quinn’s first game. I’m not overreacting. I don’t, you know, but like they both Quinn and Zach have a lot to work on. Zack Zack short armed a few balls that would have been touchdowns. Like I mean, look, he he had some I liked his his his deep his deep throws like the the play to NWI play to Taj Washington. Taj Washington actually got a little bit of wiggle to him, too. I I we hadn’t seen that in practice. I had not seen him with the ball in his hands and him being being able to make moves like that because he consistently made the first defender miss which I was like oh okay he might have earned himself a few more opportunities with that but you know Quinn looked I don’t know how it looked there being in person but it from where I from where I sat over here at my on my TV it looked he looked a little scared at first. He did look a little scared at first. He looked a little bit scared. Granted, Granted, I will say this, his receivers didn’t do him any favors cuz they were Or his offensive line. Yes. Or his offensive line. The sack in in their in their short in their red zone in the that turned over the ball to Chicago at the five yard line. Yeah. Like Yeah, that was bad. Germaine defeated. Like I don’t even know if he touched the defender. He did not. Um, I I I will say this and it’s like I walked in the locker room and Tua Tua was uh he had just finished with you guys at the podium. He’s like, “Get them on. Get them.” He was talking to me about to me about all the backup quarterbacks. Get them. Like, you know, as if like, “Y’all get on me for for, you know, not consistent play. Get them.” And I was just like, bro, it’s a rookie. Like what? What am I? I mean, but if Tua had done those plays, oh yeah, of course Tu would be on a stick right now. Like Yeah, of course. He’d be be getting flayed. Um Quinn yours can play better than what we saw. Oh yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you. It was not good. Maybe the moment got was too big for him. Maybe he needed better offensive lineman. Um, I love the way that he could look down field and and and get the ball out. Now, Zack Wilson, same thing we’ve seen all camp, same thing we’ve seen all career with the Jets. Uh, when his feet are not set, that ball is going to spray. And when his like, how many touchdowns did he miss? Just uh he missed two touchdowns. one, he could have gone to uh Frell Brown instead of going to um Madison. Alexander Madison on that play to Madison got hurt. Far wide open. He you you’re looking right you looking right there. You just say, “Oh, shoot.” But I know Quinn and his feet probably weren’t set and he probably didn’t want to miss a third touchdown uh because his feet weren’t set. We saw the play to Tanner Connor who again um I’m not gonna ignore this Tanner. I keep you can play you a baller. Why you keep not showing up on game day? Why? I know you didn’t throw the bad pass, but that if your reputation is you don’t show up on game day, that’s your reputation. We I know you could play. Like why can’t you show up? That’s a you know, we we’ll put that to the side. Um it’s true. Like people get in my feelings because I say things, but what did Tana Connor do yesterday? Nothing. Nothing. And he only got one target. It’s hard to one target. Yeah. It would have been It would have been You know what I’m saying? He can’t throw the ball to himself, too. Like, what do you what do you want from me? That’s That’s fair. That’s fair. I know. But I’m I’m I’m waiting for Tanner. Like, I have said for four years, you could play. Why can’t you show people that you could play? Um Ali Gordon saw some things I like, saw some things I didn’t like. Devonte Chan, he just got out healthy. It’s a thumbs up. um especially after seeing you get slammed on your head uh during joint practices. Um the Washington brothers and they’re not brothers, but we call them the the March brothers. They’re not brothers. Well, I can’t call these the Washington brothers. That’s real. That’s real. I’m not mad at it. I’m not mad at it nickname early though. That’s I will say Taj Washington surprised me. You know, you you know, I’ve never really been high on Malik, but Malik is winning me over a lot. He’s number number three receiver in Penn right now. I thought I thought his performance was really well. You can tell he’s got developed chemistry with with Tua. Um, but Taj Washington, man, I I I was impressed. I was impressed. But now, here’s my question to you, Isaiah. Can you have a receiver that’s full of four five foot 10, five foot 11 receivers? I don’t I I personally don’t think that’s a good look. I mean, look, I I I understand, you know, you have Tyreek Hill, you have Jaylen Wadd, that’s not going to change, right? So, I would think that you would try to want to find guys that complement their skill set versus replicate their skill set. Not saying that Malik Washington and Todd Washington are carving copies of them. by no stretch the imagination. I’m just saying that like if you look at them their their body size, right? And it doesn’t at the end of the day like height from the receiver position, it doesn’t really matter until it does, right? Until that’s how I that’s how I view it. It doesn’t matter until it does, right? And so until you get in situations where it’s like, hey, I want to throw that that goal line fade. Well, who’s going to be the guy to catch it? That’s when it matters, right? Personally, I look Darwin, you would throw in hopefully a guy like NWI can uh make some make some noise there, right? And so to me, I I wouldn’t want to do that. I wouldn’t want my receiver room to look like that because it’s too monotonous. It’s too It is too monotonous. I agree with you. But aren’t those your four top receivers? Aren’t the Smurfs your four top receivers? Don’t do that. I I I would They are called Smurf receivers in No, I know. All right. Look, no. I I I’m I’m willing to to Who’s better than them? I’m willing to bet. I I’m willing to bet right now on NWI being better than Taj. Better than who? Taj. Taj Washington. Yes. Okay. NW had I didn’t I He had one catch. Made a guy miss and you know with you know I I Taj made a guy miss every play. I agree with you. I agree with you. I think, like I said, I think he’s done enough to warrant more looks. Like, like point blank period, he’s done that for sure. After after what I saw, I am just intrigued. I want to see more of you. Now, we saw what NWI did last year. He had nine touchdowns. Six of them were in the red zone, right? Like until once he gets that chemistry with Tua, they’ll be okay. I feel like it’s going to take some time. He was injured. He’s getting back. He’s getting healthy. You know, wasn’t necessarily running with the ones all the time. Now he’s Yeah, I think he’ll he’ll do better over time. Trust I’m banking on what you’ve done at the NFL level over what you’re doing in the preseason against twos and threes. Personally, that’s what that’s that’s my philosophy. Okay. All right. We can ride with that. Um let’s let’s address a little bit of the defense. Um in my opinion, they are who we thought they were. I know the defense only got one series, but that’s going to be a a pretty good defense. Um, especially when I they have a surplus of pass rushers. Yeah. Now, this is I forgot who said it was champagne problems. Was that Weaver? Who who said this is a champagne problem? Um, yeah. Yeah. It’s a It’s a champagne problem to have. I’ve never heard the term before, but it’s true. You never heard of the term champagne problems? Never. Oh, okay. I’m just a poor kid from Carol City, man. We We just started drinking champagne. I You know, and and when we was drinking it, we was drinking Andre’s, you know what I’m saying? So, I I I love it. It is indeed a champagne problem. They have more edges than they’ve got space for. I don’t know what they’re going to do because they got some really tough decisions. Grayson Murphy, Derek McClennon, both of them shined in that game. That is not a surprise to either one of us because they both been balling all camp. What people don’t understand is, and this is why people always hit me with practice. You know, the islands in practice, you know, we talking about practice. Yeah. What y’all don’t realize, y’all saw one game. I have seen now 14 days of exactly what you saw in that one game. And there are consistent threads that you see. Line is boo boo. Your backup lineman are boooo, your cornerbacks and your secondary. They not that bad. They they they they’ve been doing their thing. Um and your your edges consistency and efficiency from Tua. Um I I I like the fact that they start to get a little bit of flow, but then I will say this, the Bears did not play a lot of press. They let they let him zone him up in in free a in in preseason. And I’m sorry, and I say this again, if if Mike McDaniel does not tell Anthony Weaver, I need to see some press, uh, you are making a mistake. Um, you are making a very bad mistake about your season. Um, but the edges, they’ve been coming all camp. And I thought it at one point was the tackles are bad. And while the tackles are still bad to see them come in the game and see them come in joint practice and see them come in in free a pre in in preeason, uh they got a lot of edges. Um they got a lot of pass rushers. And I’m at the point now where yes, special teams is important, but I can’t deny what Derek McClendon does on a daily basis. I can’t I can’t overlook it. Um, how do you handle who’s in who’s in jeopardy right now? Cameron Good, Quinton Bell. Um, are we going to have to keep one less defensive lineman, one less safety? How do you find a way to fit these edges that are that are impressing? I I think that’s another dollar question, right? I I think you would have to I mean, see the the my my first thought would be, okay, let’s let’s get rid of a safety or two, right? Unfortunately, you have injuries in that area, right? I don’t think Quinton Bell is in danger of of making the roster. I don’t because he’s he’s really good in the in the run game. You would I unfortunately I think you gota you would have to see more from Cam Good because so far Derek McClendon is certainly outplayed. Cam Good might be one of your top five special teams players. Does he make it alone on special teams because you going to need a core group and special teams showed you that they play they they play pretty good. They they they they holding their own now it’s one game. Um but that’s true. That’s true. I think look at at the end of the day at the end of the day and special teams actually did look really good. Let’s actually give some shout out to special teams right now because they all the returns were really good. I they were well blocked. They were hell. They were very well blocked. Yo, like definitely definitely shout out uh the the special teams coordinate Mr. Acan you know Mr. Acman shout out you sir. Um but look I think at the at the end of the day AC is gonna have his say right? So there there will be core guys that will you know has to be you know cuz look look at the end of the day people people overlook the special teams but that guy does have a little bit of say that’s why that’s why no no he should get I’ve always said special teams you you get you get your call you could call five shots. Exactly. I I I think I think cuz you know how I’m like puzzled by what we seen on special teams with with not special teams at nickel with Cornell Armstrong. I think Cornell Armstrong might be one of his shots. I I think Cameron Good might be one of his shots. Um I I you know I I think those are two of the top Willie Gay I saw he really did well on special teams. I didn’t know Willie Gay was a special teams player like that. Um so it’s going KJ Britt. It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with special teams unit moving forward because I mean is Cameron Good going to make the team as a special team? What about Quinton Quinton Bale? And and that’s the thing. We got to pay attention to these roles that these guys play on special teams, especially um Elijah Elijah Campbell is a special teams guy. Um he suffered it was a it was a it was a strain to I think the thigh. Um he should be fine. Um but if something happened to him, you in a bad spot with your with your gun. I watched one play. I couldn’t even see who it was. This is how bad it was. the snap. I couldn’t even see who it was. The two blockers threw the gun into the Gatorade. Like gone. He was off the He was off the camera. Like it was like the ball snap. Boom. He was gone. Gone in the Gatorade. And I was like, “Yeah, that’s a problem.” Like you you you really got it. I think Jack Jones is working on it. I think Ethan Bonner’s working on it. Cornell Armstrong is a proven gunner. But you cannot have a good special teams unit without good gunners. So, um I’m curious to see how that plays out. Um but damn good. Um EJ, um Biggers, he nearly blocked the punt and I was like, “Oh, okay.” And I will say this, while I think Derek McClendon was my top performer in that game, uh Biggers, he was balling. It wasn’t always technically sound. Sometimes he left the gap getting penetration, but he moved his offensive lineman. Like that guy could could get into the back field. He I saw the same I saw the same for Matt Dickerson as well. Like he had a few good plays as well. I love Matt Dix. Like he looks night and day better than he did last year. Like night and day. It’s I don’t think we really saw him last year though. He wasn’t here for training camp. But yeah, but like we when we did see him it was it was it was obviously you’re right. It was a very short small sample size, but it but you could tell like he’s one of those players that after being in the the offseason with the, you know, another year of the defense, like he’s he’s a lot more comfortable. For sure. He he said he said Austin Clark, he gave us he gave us the Zack Cer speech where he was like, “When I worked with Austin Clark, he taught us taught me so much about the fundamentals of the game that I didn’t know. It just helped me improve.” um because we talked to him this week and I was I was thoroughly impressed. I was like, “Shut up.” But you but you know I’ve been rocking with Matt Dickerson. Come on. You know I’ve been wrong. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I’m just You know, you he didn’t he didn’t crack your your your list just yet. It’s it’s it’s a tough call what’s going to happen there. It really is. It really is. It’s a tough call what’s going to happen there. And and hopefully everybody stays healthy. Even Butler um I think it’s Matthew Butler. He was he was pretty respectable. I I I got a spot for him on my practice squad. Um but Dickerson that there there are very few pieces on this team that if you cut him I could say you you gonna say goodbye to them cuz yeah they they they g they gonna get claimed or they gonna sign elsewhere because defensive lineman like Matt Dickerson yeah they’re not easy to find. um pass rushers that can consistently bring that heat like Derek McClendon and and Grayson Murphy. They’re not easy to find. Um, now the Dolphins wish they could find some offensive tackles. Like that’s the that’s the issue that they that they seem to be consistently having because good lord, I’m just um just yesterday you think about the injuries that they already have on the offensive line and how unfortunately just because of the the the strength you the strain of the position, excuse me, like one guy might miss a week or so. It’s Look, I I I don’t know where Liam Mikeberg is. I think that’s one of a question I’m gonna ask this week uh to Mike Mcgen when I see him because we he needs to be back sooner rather than later. When did you ever think Liam Mikeberg would be your savior? Uh look, stranger things have happened obviously, but you know, good for him. No, no doubt about it. Um so you’re going to be up there in Detroit covering practice. Uh, what is it that you’re looking for from the Dolphins against a Dan Campbell defense? Like uh, you know, people people in Chicago, the Bears reporters, they they were trying us, Isaiah, they were trying us. They were like, “Oh, we hope this isn’t too hard tackling for you today.” Like like we were like we were like, “Y’all want to square up over here?” The rules of engagement were determined. There were it was not a tackling period. I was slamming people on the head, hitting quarterbacks. Yeah, hitting quarterbacks off. Like, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I I never expected the the product on the field to bleed over into the uh the media room, and that’s crazy. Like, yeah, y’all can’t be calling us off. Yeah, we can cover us all team, but we ain’t soft over here. Yeah, y’all y’all vi y’all team was violating. Y’all team was was doing extra, slamming people on the head. slam people on the headback. Yeah, I don’t I don’t slam people on the head hitting the quarterbacks. I Yeah, it was it was uh you know, they were they were like, “Oh, we’re trying to set an identity, get back to being a big I respect that. I do I do respect that because I think anytime that you know you have a new coach coming in, right? Especially when it’s an offensive coach, right? It’s it’s doesn’t always translate that that tough ruggedness that you need, right? Usually you get that from a defensive head coach, right? And so to see this offensive team kind of playing with that mindset, I I’m I’m impressed. What it’s been what, a couple months since been I mean, obviously I’m being facious, but yeah, Jonathan already coming in getting stuff right. When I learned that Al Harris was their secondary coach, their their pass game coordinator, I was like, because I know Al from Miami and he’s, you know, he a Miami guy and he he he alas, if you remember Al Harris from when he played, woo, that was that was a physical that was a physical player right there. And his unit, man, they did they get Miami. And and as I said, I I I hope Anthony Weaver realizes he needs to give this this this Dolphins team a lot more press looks than what they’re facing because them receivers got them little small receivers, boy, they get rerouted a lot. They got rerouted a whole lot. Um but Dan, you know, Ben Johnson is from Dan’s book. I’ve covered Dan Campbell. Like I told you, first when he took over when he took over as an interim coach in Miami Dolphins, their very first period stretch in the Oklahoma drill Oklahoma drill. That’s crazy. And he he was setting the tone. And so and you know how the Detroit Lions play, they’re going to be physical. Um and and so that’s kind of you know, you ask what I’m what am I looking for? That’s what I’m looking for. I’m looking for one, I want to see how Patrick Paul holds up against Aiden Hutchinson, right? like you went la you you you said it last week uh or last Friday, excuse me, that look, they have a problem on that left side. The Bears do, right? You’re not going to really have that problem, you know, in in Detroit, right? And so I want to see how he faces against, you know, those those ends over there because I believe, correct me if I’m wrong, I believe it’s Aiden Hudson and Darius Smith on the other side. So I think he got weighed today. I’m not 100% sure, but something something going on with him and his girl. They done broke up. I did see that they broke up. I did see that they broke up, but I don’t think that he he’s uh he’s Wait, hold on. I don’t think he’s waving just yet now. I don’t think he’s wave. I think he’s still Yes, he’s still on the roster right now. I’mma look it up right now. I’mma look it up right now. So, I want to I want to see how uh Patrick Paul fares there to when we’re talking about the you you mentioned Oh, the secondary is held up. Secondaries held up. I want to see them boys specifically how those corners hold up against Amaras St. Brown and JMO Jameson Williams. I want to see that point blank period. Like those are two that is one of the better receiving cores in the league. What you look you look surprised. Um it says he announced major personal news today. Like why do I care about him breaking up with Cash Doll? Like it was a black love story. You know it’s a little well little you know she from Detroit. He, you know, was a new guy in Detroit. I look, I don’t care. I don’t really invest that much in celebrities lives, but yeah. I mean, I can’t even find I guess he wasn’t cut. I saw something where he said Yeah, it wasn’t. You saw You might have got You might have gotten sent to They saw Yeah, it might have been a joke like he got cut from Yeah, that he got waved from the relationship. That’s pro That’s probably what it was because I guess everybody whatever. I I don’t care about their relationship. Um yeah, I I I I’m Larry Boram wasn’t horrible, but clearly you need to get better. He he had been getting better. Uh and I don’t think he was that much of an issue in the game, but every all of the backups, they need to get better. Um so I’m I’m curious to see what happens there. I’m curious to see how the Miami Dolphins defense handles uh Detroit’s running game. Um and obviously Detroit’s got some hell of a wide receivers and Jared Goff is brings you the same level of consistency as Tua will get to test out these cornerbacks a little bit more. But so far they’ve been all right. I can’t like that’s fine. Let’s let’s like uh right now as it stands right now, Jared G is a better quarterback than Caleb Williams, right? And as it stands right now, Jared Guff is a better receiving court than than Caleb Williams. And so I I think this is this is a test unlike any that they’ve seen. That’s why that’s the question why I came and I couldn’t necessarily get a direct answer from Tula McDaniel. Like will the evaluation process change considering where the Bears are and where the where the uh Lions are? Because I look I’m not saying that like it’s a and granted you don’t want to treat each games like a measuring stick, right? like you don’t want to see cuz each each each team is is it’s steady building. You got to you got to steadily build on. I don’t even think the results matter. You just got to figure out what your issues are and figure out if the player can fix it or if you need a new player or if you need a new identity. Like right now I could tell you I think the Dolphins can run with power. I think they can run with efficiency. a as as for the DCC, sir, whatever. A as as is with what what they have on the offensive line now. Um especially love running from the left side, but I don’t know if they could afford another loss like into an injury, but we we we shall see. Um on that note, Isaiah will be in Detroit. We’ll be doing podcast from there, as you know. We’ll be doing the uh uh the live blogs if the practices are open. Um looking forward to seeing Isaiah’s work from Detroit and I will be writing some columns and and doing my first projection of the 53man roster. So hopefully you’ll tune in to the Miami Herald and continue to monitor the work that we do covering the team that you love. On that note, we are out. Okay.

The Bears didn't have any starters playing. it's a 😊good thing it was preseason
Soft Miami dominated that dirty Dan Campbell wannabe team. GEZZZZZ GET OVER THE DIDNT SCORE ON FIRST DRIVE !!!! YA ROLL TUA OUT AND MAYBE HE COULD DIVE HEAD FIRST FOR A PRESEASON T.D. FANTASTIC MORONS!!
You were right, Omar. Also, I know what Omar wanted to say here 12:58. And it isn't "receivers".
I feel like the two Washingtons that we drafted are similar in height to Hill and waddle and both have speed because they were looking for irons to put in the coals and develop as a replacement for Hill as either. He will screw up bad enough for them to get rid of him or at some point he is going to age and will need someone to replace him
I need Dave Hyde to tell me how bad this team really is lol
I'm guessing it's new new. But, cool mic upgrade Isaiah! Sounds good.
Should called them the Washingtwins
no redemption at all…..still got punked on drive for TD with Tua. And 10 wins Omar??? Pass me the pipe brother 😎. Dolphins won't win 10 games until next year……counting the 5/6 they get ty.
Nwa or nwi
Now I can't take any of Omar's opinions seriously. Cause Ollie was very Impressive
Mattison is going to get cut
Did Dolphins get redemption against Bears? HECK NO!
Miami Dolphins have the same problem this year as they had the past two years first off to play. Calling stinks. You get inside the 10 your line if you’re on the one yard line, you don’t have the ball off back at the 4 yard line. We need another play collar. Mike McDaniels is not a good play color second, which is probably the worst is our defense we cannot tackle to save our lives. We are horrible at tackling. We’ll end up 500 at best this year again this is not even close to being in the playoff team.
Jalen wright? Earl Campbell would have gotten stuffed with that blocking 🤷🏾♂️
Play calling was awful
Why are we showing every one on tape what we're terrible at lol other teams will use it against us
Quinn Ewers could be cut by The Dolphins
Omar, you make a super excellent point about the fact that Weaver has to press them and practice all the time!!! Omar ask him ask him that question please
Ethan Bonner finished the game with a 85 PFF. That is not at all who Omar "thought he was".
Serious question does the dolohins front office have the necessary eye for talent? They seem to to not get it right most of the time especially the offensive line positions. Eichenberg, borom, brunskill and ifedi are all not good and have the potential to get your qb killed but they were brought to the team. If they are not competent enough can we get better scouts or talent evaluators on the team. Sick of this mediocrity. Need to rip of the bandaid and bring in the right staff that'll fix the team permanently
Need a tush push. Put P Brown or Gordon under center with Grant and Biggars pushing. YouTube video of Neil Degrass Tyson explaining why it can’t be stopped.
I agree with Omar. This is a pre season game and the coaches need to see what the players can do in a game-like situation. We even have to see if Zack Wilson can throw a simple pass. We have to evaluate Quinn Ewers in an NFL like game. Everything needs to be tested and analyzed. Test the short yardage plays. I just think the backup O-line is still garbage. I see no improvement in that group. I think both Wilson and Ewers showed horrible arm strength on most of their throws. It looked like they were just lobbing the ball down field. Even though Zach throwing off his back foot on some of those throws, one would think his 'amazing' arm strength would at least make it to the player's hands. Both back up QBs were holding the ball way too long. THREE seconds is what you have to throw the ball, not five. Granted, some of those plays it looked as if the line did not try blocking.
What exactly did the CB's do? I didn't see anything significant. I saw Hilton and Sheffield get trashed against 2nd stringers. There were no first stringers on offense, Omar. Zero
Again! Our fan base is so delusional. They really think Ewers is the best QB on the roaster. 😅
This is a soft ass team like always
Bummer Mattison is out now, but Shample?
All facts
Isaiah can be impressed but if the cubs want a real identity why didn’t they tell the Phins they wanted play more physical instead of tackling people who weren’t aware of the style of practice
