Nobody Realizes How DANGEROUS The Seattle Mariners Just Became…
The Seattle Mariners have completely transformed their season. And right now, they’re one of the most dangerous teams in baseball. After making some bold moves at the trade deadline, they’ve gone from hopeful contenders to a legitimate force to be reckoned with. In this video, we’re diving into how the Mariners are doing it, why their lineup and their pitching staff are clicking at the perfect moment, and what this could mean for their playoff chances. Stick around until the end of the video, folks, because this Mariners rise could be the biggest storyline of the MLB’s second half. So, the Seattle Mariners, who expected this, man? 66 and 53, 9 and1 in their last 10. They’ve won their last seven games in a row. And probably most importantly, they are half a game back right now of those Houston Astros. Looking over at the wild card, too. Seattle firmly in that number one spot. If they take over for Houston, they’re only going to be two games back potentially depending on how everything goes, but only a couple games back of maybe even being in a buy. So, these Seattle Mariners, they are getting hot at the right time and they are very much in the mix to be one of the top teams in the American League. Looking over at their playoff odds, it has been a meteoric rise. Over here on June 12th, they were down at a 44.8% chance to make the postseason. And then since then, it has just been up and up. Oh, little little blip right here, but then just up and up and up and now they are at a 94.7% chance. But what I think is even more interesting right now is when we look at winning the division. They right now have a 52.5% chance to win the division. And even though they are not currently leading the division, they have now overtaken the Houston Astros. Houston had them for the better part of uh of two months. But Seattle, for the first time in two months, has now overtaken the Houston Astros, according to fan graphs, to have the best chance to win the AL West, which honestly I don’t think anybody saw coming just a few weeks or honestly a month ago. This is the best Seattle Mariners roster that I think I have seen in years. Seattle’s always had something, right? They’ve always been very good at something and usually it’s the pitching staff. And when we go over to their pitching staff, it is still very, very good. I don’t believe these statistics. 11th in starting pitcher erra on the season, fifth in whip. I think that this team’s actually better than that because keep in mind, they didn’t have Logan Gilbert the whole season. And they’re just starting to get some of these key um I guess key performances from these guys consistently. Brian Woo as the ace, George Kirby, Logan Gilbert, Louis Castillo, Logan Evans. Their lowest erra in their starting rotation is a 4.36. I mean, that could easily be, you know, just an average team’s third in the rotation or even some teams, I mean, that could be their two right here. This is an elite starting rotation from the Seattle Mariners. And you’re looking at five guys who honestly, like I could see any one of these dudes going deep in a playoff start against some of the best competition. And it’s going to make it that much more easy for them because they finally have an offense. That’s always been the problem, right? Seattle, great pitching. We can develop these pitchers out of nowhere, but we don’t have enough of a lineup to back them up. This year, they do. And that is why I think this team is suddenly, in my opinion, one of the most scary in all of baseball. Randy Rosarita leading things off. He’s got an OPS over 800. Cal Raleigh, we know how good he’s doing. He’s probably going to end up having the most home runs by a catcher when it is all said and done on the season. The guy’s got 45 right now. Julio Rodriguez, who we’re going to talk about a little bit later, Josh Naylor and Suarez, the two big time acquisitions at the deadline. And we could go on too. I mean like Palano’s having a great year, Kenzone, but adding these two guys in to the middle of your lineup. Four and five like that, like it just lengthens that thing out so damn much. And as you can see right here, Josh Naylor, third best baseball player in the last seven days. Well, here’s why, man. Look at this. Uh, safe to say that Josh Naylor loves playing in Seattle. Look at this. Josh Naylor is the first player in MLB history with four plus home runs and 10 plus stolen bases in his first 15 games with a franchise. Naylor has four home runs and 11 stolen bags in his first 15 games with Seattle. That is insane. 11 stolen bases from the I mean I never thought that Josh Taylor was a big stealing threat, but clearly his jump, his ability to read the pitchers, holy mother of god, he is insane. and then tack on four additional home runs. This pickup is so huge for the Seattle Mariners, guys on the last year of his deal. So, he’s playing for that new contract. Honestly, Seattle, you should flirt with the idea of signing him back because like your PR team said, he does love playing in Seattle. Looking at since he has come over here, okay, so this is when he gets traded from Arizona. He gets traded and then since then, look at these numbers. batting 288, an on base of 362, a 577 slugging, and an OPS of 939. And obviously, that doesn’t even factor in the 11 stolen bases of just added production that this guy is accounting for. I mean, these numbers alone, this slash line, even if he had zero stolen bags, you’re still like loving that. You’re you’re taking that straight to the bank. And then you throw on the fact that he has been a demon on those base paths and you have a key contributor right now that is just helping this Seattle lineup cook. He’s not the only one though. I want to talk about Julio Rodriguez looking over at the splits everybody. Also keep in mind 4.9 more nothing to scoff it right there. Dude is solid defensively speaking, but I just want to highlight the fact that in the second half of the season, okay, so since that All-Star break and we’re like decently away from the All-Star break at this point, right? 23 games where that’s a that’s a month of baseball basically that we are away from the All-Star break. Julio Rodriguez batting 271 on base of 300, 573 slugging, and an OPS of 873. And I think honestly most importantly, nine home runs, 15 RBI’s. They are getting the power stroke right now from Julio Rodriguez. And the power stroke is what Seattle bought in on. Looking at this lineup, who did they go out and who did they get at the deadline? Josh Naylor and Uio Suarez. Two strong home run slugging hitters. They added that to a lineup with Randy Rosena, who we know like he can he can slug him when he’s hot, when he’s feeling himself. Randy Rosena, he can fire those baseballs off. Cal Raleigh, who’s got the most home runs in all of baseball right now. Now, you’re seeing Julio Rodriguez start to send some over the fence. Like, this lineup is built off of the long ball and the stolen base as well, right? Those two key statistics is what this lineup is based off of. And when you’re looking at this pitching rotation in the playoffs when, you know, like the other team is trying to, you know, maybe play a little small ball, right? We’re trying to string some hits together against Brian Woo. Well, that’s going to be really difficult. It’s going to be really difficult to string some hits together against Brian Woo. But if you’re Seattle and you’re going up against somebody like a TK Scubble, well, it’s also very difficult to string hits together. So, what do you do? Well, maybe you take a walk, you steal a bag, and then maybe somebody pops one, right? The home run ball is so crucial in the postseason when you’re up against strong elite pitching. And that’s why I think this team is built for success because they have a lineup that can attack the strong pitching and then they also have a strong pitching staff themselves that can shut down opposing teams offenses. Carrying on with the praise though of this lineup. Uh I do want to give a shout out here and this is a big credit to Josh Naylor because he’s contributing to a lot of this. But the Seattle Mariners are on the best home run hitting base stealing run in MLB history. Right? This is what I just said the lineup is based off of. This is what it’s built off of. This is what they went in on and they are doing it at the best caliber ever right now. In the last 10 games, the Mariners have stolen 20 bases, hit 20 home runs. They have not been caught stealing. A team has never gone 20 over 20 and 20, excuse me, over 10 games without a single caught stealing in MLB history. And yes, it’s translating to winning. The Mariners are 8-2 over their last 10 to close within a half game of the Houston Astros at the top of the AL West standings. Stealing bases, hitting bombs works. They’re doing it better than anybody and they are doing it efficiently right now. Let’s take a look at their schedule and this is why I believe that they are going to win the division and why I genuinely think they could end up ending the season in a buy when it is all said and done. They just delivered it to the White Socks and then delivered it to the Tampa Bay Rays. Next they got Baltimore. That’s pretty easy. Tough stretch with the Mets and the Phillies. We’ll see how they stack up there. But then they got the Athletics. They’re kind of falling out. I mean, they are falling out of it at this point. Padres’s are going to be difficult and Cleveland is going to be a little tough. So, okay, couple tough series to wrap up August, but take a look at September when we’re in that final stretch. Tampa Bay, Atlanta, they’re falling out of it. St. Louis, I mean, I think I think that Seattle could beat St. Louis. the Angels, the Royals, the Astros will be difficult, but then you got the Rockies and you do finish things off with LA, but I wouldn’t be shocked if LA is resting guys at this point because they will probably also be in a situation where they don’t need to worry too much about those wins and those losses. All in all, in conclusion, this baseball team, it is beautifully built. I love the way that they’ve done this. Um, I’m scared of it because I’m a Toronto Blue Jays fan and I would not want to go up against the Seattle Mariners come postseason time if they’re playing like this. But for the first time, I think in years, I can actually start to believe and I can get behind how the Seattle Mariners have a real shot at going all the way. They’ve always had the pitching and now they got the lineup to back it up. But folks, let me know what you think about all this in the comments down below. Thank you so much for watching and I’ll catch you next
The Seattle Mariners are on fire right now, and they might just be the most dangerous team in baseball. After going all in at the MLB trade deadline and picking up big bats like Eugenio Suárez and Josh Naylor, Seattle has completely turned into a postseason threat.
In this video, we break down how the Mariners’ trade deadline moves are paying off, why their pitching staff is one of the best in baseball, and what this hot streak means for their playoff chances. Can Seattle keep this going into October and make a deep postseason run?

Ai predicted the dodgers will lose the 2025 world series to the mariners
I'm not gonna act like we're gonna win the World Series but this is our best chance we've had since 2001. I'm just happy to be watching fun exciting baseball again.
They've built a very good roster. It will be interesting to see how they do after the trade deadline honeymoon phase ends. The schedule set up nicely and with Ichiro's Hall of Fame weekend. You probably didn't do your homework completely or you would have known that they are close to getting Bryce Miller back in the rotation and possibly Robles back healthy on September 1st. They might be getting even better.
Or how dangerous the Seahawks are as well. Go Hawks, Go Mariners.
2025 is the year of the MARINERS!!!
Yes finally Seattle we got a winner boys. Mariners fans have been waiting for this for years. To the best sport fans in the world boys I think this is it . Let's go Seattle . Can you say World Series!!! Ya buddy
I love the fact that Dan plays small ball like Lou did.
Bryce should not be thrust back into the rotation. That elbow is still a problem. Best case scenario is to use him as a bridge guy in the rotation every 4-5 days. Send Legumina down to triple A and have Miller fill that role. Send Garver down. Bring up Ford. We need to figure out a way to get Williamson back into the lineup too. You have to find a way to get your way players on the field. Geno as DH and Ben at 3rd? Then Geno back to third on days Cal takes a break to DH?
SEA will take the div lead over HOU before too long
If we don't lock down naylor and get him to resign I will cry blood
Ms are still getting victor Robles and Bryce miller back from injuries
"Give me that smoke!" Josh Naylor the most fierce persona in all of baseball. Most UFC fighters would be afraid seeing Josh standing across from them.
Injuries are going to be key down the stretch as they always are, but this is the first time in a long time as a Mariners fan I can honestly say that I don't think the full-strength Astros are a better team than us.
Everytime I hear a podcast about the mariners being a dangerous team for the rest of the season and possibly playoffs…this is the time the Mariners start tanking and end up being in a fight for a wild card spot. If they can break this curse then I’ll believe it otherwise I’m not holding my breath.
Pretty solid breakdown. It wasnt just Gilbert hurt it was Kirby and Miller also. 3/5 of the rotation so im hoping they can get healthy and catch fire. If they do its a wrap
They're going to win it all!!
Dude you completely missed Cole Young. Look at his last month. He's getting on base at an insane rate. Also Bryce Miller and Victor Robles will be back in the next few weeks.
Right now is a good time to be a Seattle fan. The Mariners are getting hot at the right time. The seahawks are looking good going into the season and most importantly to me, anyway, the Seattle Sounders are undefeated since the club world cup and dropped an all time 7-0 performance against Cruz Azul. Right now is a good time to be a Seattle fan.
I hope they make it have been a fan since 1977 I was 24 I am now 70 and want to see them win before I leave this earth, Go Mariners.
I was 22 not 24.
I’m hyped. Hopefully we make it to the ALDS at least.
What do you think of using Bryce Miller as a reliever when he returns to the Mariners instead of a starter when he comes back from IL? I don't think his elbow is 100% and Logan Evans has been playing great, have him take Casey Legumina or Jackson Kowar's spot. Then there's the question of Victor Robles. I love him but Dylan Moore has just been awful batting this year, were basically just using him for pinch running and on defense at this point. I don't think Robles's shoulder will be ready enough to play outfield when he first comes back, but he could fill the role of pinch runner/hitter and DH. Replacing Moore with him makes sense to me, maybe Leo Rivas until Robles is off the IL. When Luke Raley comes back I think he should take Solano's spot, he can play first on Josh Naylor's days off and is a much better bat than Solano is.
