You know, for me, my play of the day in Major League Baseball has been red hot and I’m in Vegas this week. The only thing that’s going to be hotter than the weather is me at the sports book. And if you have, if you’re new to our channel, welcome. start making you some money with this match up between the Kansas City Royals and the Washington Nationals. The Kansas City Royals sending out Seth Lugo for the start in this one while the Nationals will counter with Jake Irvin. And Irvin coming off a rough couple of starts last, you know, his last two outings in the month of August. He’s given up nine runs, eight earned over nine and third innings of work, 16 base hits, three home runs. He’s also allowed four or more runs in three of his four starts. So really having issues keeping the runs down and keeping, you know, keeping the ball in the yard. And that’s problematic because the Nationals at times have had a really hard time backing up their pitchers. So if they, you know, if Irving can’t keep the runs on the board, it’s going to be hard for the Nationals to keep themselves in this game. But I do think they can do some damage here off of Seth Lugo, who is coming off a start where he got roughed up by the Minnesota Twins. Gave up seven runs on nine hits, a pair of home runs over four innings of work. And, you know, his numbers against the uh the Nationals in his career, not great. an 8.31 erra in his last five starts against Washington. Now granted, you have to go back to 2017 for a couple of those. I’m just saying for what it’s worth, he’s had issues against this team in the past, but you know, you’re also facing a uh you know, a nationals lineup that’s actually in the last, you know, week and a half, almost two weeks against righties, basically the month of August so far, just outside the top 10 in batting average. Their team OPS numbers are not god awful. you know, they’re just outside the uh just outside the bottom 10 in baseball, but the the isolated power numbers, they could be a little bit better. Still think though, Washington can give up a few runs or excuse me, put up a few runs against Lugo here. I think that the Royals, who are still hitting 258 against righties in the last two weeks with team OPS numbers just outside the top 10 and great isolated power numbers, can get to Jake Irvin here. I think they can also get to this Nationals bullpen, which has been more than problematic in 2025. A 7.40 40 erra in the month of August so far for uh excuse me for the the Washington Nationals. And if that was over the last two weeks if you zoom into the last uh you know in the month of August it gets even worse a 7.75 erra. So for me here I just I got to roll with the over. I’m expecting some runs in this one whether they’re early late or all across the board. But either way I’m going to take the over here and that’s going to be my free pick.
