Sounds like “We’re not selling the team, just 49% of it while we continue to shit on the fans here with the controlling 51% interest”.
Terrible for Twins fans, cause the silver lining of their trade deadline firesale could have been getting the franchise as lean as possible for a majority stake sale (to someone who would reinvest). Worst of both worlds.

I hope the players union steps in to demand some changes to how owners operate and threaten not to play in 2026. But we all know that would be a rare sight.
Thats awful. I get it that these owners wanna make money but damn their tactics are disgusting for the fans/consumers. I feel bad for many of MLB’s fanbases that are going through very similar things as us (minus the actual relocation).
It sure does seem like the “Sell The Team” movement is starting to gain traction throughout MLB though
I figured this was all just a PR stunt. Not going to follow them anymore.
Seems like the market for purchasing teams is a lot worse than some people like to imagine it is. The Angels explored a sale and kept the team. Twins explore a sale and kept the team. Fisher is looking for minority investors and can’t get any bites. Makes you wonder how much interest there actually is in all this alleged expansion Manfred keeps fantasizing about.
Welcome to our hell twins fans.

Bad owners are legit ruining baseball
After Arte Moreno did it; it felt like they do it to gauge the team’s true value in the marketplace. That was what I thought about Arte doing it anyway.
Sounds like they couldn’t get what they wanted. Not surprised since the Cable TV money is no longer there. Selling off limited partnerships still leaves them in control while cashing out a decent amount of equity.
