TLDR: Quick recap of Schrager’s time on PMS, plus I think the Rams are doing this with more guys than just Stafford.

  1. I’m calling BS on the ultra cautious line with Stafford. His status has continually degraded over time.

    He was “day to day” then he was “week to week” now it’s “we’ll be fluid!”

    He was in a “if there was a game today he’d play” state and now is in a “I don’t know if he’d play if there was a game today.”

    He “looked awesome and like the same old guy” in his return to practice test on Saturday and hasn’t practiced since.

  2. When this whole thing started I wasn’t concerned at all. But after seeing him wincing while walking around on Saturday and then the news on Monday, its panic time.

    I don’t think this is nothing anymore.

    Still a ways off from week1.

    At the same time, I am OK with Jimmy G.

    Hoping for the best either way.

  5. My goodness. I love Stafford but I can’t wait to be done with the offseason “will he retire” or “how injured is he” drama. Having Jimmy G makes me feel a little better than when all we had was Rypien but this got old after 2022.

  6. I really like Stafford, and I’m happy we traded for him (obviously, a championship usually does that for fans). But extending him this time may have been a mistake. I do think we have enough juice with the rest of our roster to compete for the division, but it really sucks knowing if Stafford is healthy we probably have a shot at a ring. Here’s hoping they’re still just being careful, but it’s sounding more and more like his back is just jacked up really bad and they don’t want to admit it yet.

  8. Being cautious is one thing doing literally nothing for all of camp is another….

    You don’t just skip all of camp and be fine when the season starts. Even if he plays week 1 I’d expect him to be super rusty and a high chance of injury. At this point I wouldn’t mind him missing some time.

  11. Until he’s not starting week 1, I consider all this circus just a way to keep him healthy and ready for the season.

  17. I know McVay is extremely cautious but if Garoppolo is going to start I’d like to see him have a drive or two in a preseason game
