NBA LIVE! Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors August 14, 2025 Full Gameplay 2K26 Preseason
here tonight given the veteran talent on both sides. Yeah, tremendously high IQs from both teams. So, expect a clean game and some of these players have been through it all in this league. And now the Golden State Warriors starters in the backy Curry and Pajki. Jimmy Butler is out there with Draymond Green and it’s field in at the 37. And so the Denver Nuggets get the first points in the ball game. Pass to Pajki. Golden State moving it around. Curry against Murray. The shot by Curry. No good. Well, that wasn’t a bad shot. Defense played a little loose there. Sometimes it just doesn’t go in. And this is Murray at his best probing inside and finding avenues to the basket using that athleticism. Now here’s Green. That’s to Curry. And it goes out of bounds. Last touch by M. You got to love strong defense, especially when it comes in the form of harsh rejections. Wow. And an early swap like that can really set the tone. Now the shooters will be feeling his presence. And about a minute gone here in the first quarter. Shot clock at six. Green with a screen for Curry. And the Warriors miss again. And he’s a good shooter from outside, but not sure from that end. Yeah, it seems like everybody’s jacking them up from way out there these days. You want guys to stay within themselves. Here’s Brown. Can’t connect from 13 ft out. Yeah, that’s a missed opportunity. Great look. Just couldn’t finish. and Pajki now top of the key. Green with a screen on Murray. Curry is inside. He’s covered by Murray. Curry’s shot is good. Stronger than he looks. Curry able to take the hit there and finish. And now the latest from our reporter David Aldridge. Thanks very much. briefly spoke with David Adelman. Now, I asked him about the challenge they face in defending Steph Curry. He said Steph is so hard to contain because of his constant movement off the ball. Conventional defenses won’t work against him. The matchups will be fluid. He’ll see a lot of different guys coming at him. He’s looking and needing a total group effort. Back to you guys. Okay, David. Thanks. Shots good by Green. And one thing about Draymond, he almost invites contact for Denver. They’ve gone two for four from the field so far today. Healed against Johnson. Warriors with the rebound. When it’s all said and done, Joic Greg is going to be the Nuggets career leader in many categories. And he’s already the franchise leader in rebounds, assists, triple doubles, and playoff points and many other advanced stats as well. Gordon looks good. He makes his first shot of the game. And there’s just so much athleticism to Gordon’s game. Good luck trying to contain him is so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants a minute here to get things straightened out with this team. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. First quarter of action, just under three and a half minutes played. VMsky with it. Scoreless thus far and again it’s the Warriors missing. Ron Nuggets leading by three. Pass to Gordon inside. Here’s Johnson. Lays it up and in off the pretty assist. Just setting the tone with an aggressive move to the rag. And where’s the help defensively? Well, when you are the aggressor this early, it is intimidating. Here’s Pachki. Outside for Curry. Healed against Johnson. Down to five on the shot clock. Hypo shot. He can’t hit. Nuggets have gone four of seven from the field. Shooting over 50%. To the paint. Here’s Brown. Whistle blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play. Finding a little rhythm here that they have to like where they’re at. Yeah, you’re seeing their offense in a flow. Now, it’s time for their defense to turn up the heat a little more. And a moment now to quickly take a look at the offensive approach for the Nuggets. Well, their game plan has been very effective so far. They’re working the ball inside, putting constant pressure on the defense. And something else that’s working for them is ball movement. A lot of their points so far have come as a result of smart plays. 21st pick in the 2022 draft, Christian Brown, who won a title with Denver during his rookie year. And their coach, Michael Malone, used him in certain situations and he flourished. Well, you know, Kevin, he won a college championship the year before. This guy’s played in a lot of high pressure games and that is what has given Michael Malone the confidence to go with him. He was ready for those moments. Ready indeed. Free throw good. Green. What I appreciate most about Green is his leadership. Strong vocally on and off the floor. And so he makes both from the line and so it’s Murray who brings the ball up with the Nuggets outside Gordon. Back to Murray. Yic. High post over Green. Bank shot. No good. Warriors trail by six. Healed outside. Drains it from beyond the arc. a volume three-point sniper. Heel realizes his role is to help space the floor with his shooting. Pass to Joic. Johnson outside. Here’s Brown. He’s defended by PMski. And here is Murray. Plays it up and takes it in. And there’s an aggression to Murray’s game. willing to battle there for the bucket. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan clearly. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Warriors trail by five now. Curry down low. Shoots it up. Rebound by the Nuggets. Gilic has got four rebounds in this game. Brown the pass to Gordon and it’s Gordon finishing it off. We all know Gordon isn’t just going to lay it up. He’s going for the throw down every time. Pass to Pajki. Healed with it. Takes a three and the Warriors miss again. Rare you’ll see him miss such an open look. Marie finds Johnson. Off target there. That would have pushed the lead to double digits. And Heel launches it from deep. The long distance three is buried. He’s got six. A catch and shoot specialist. Heel has a quality jump shot and really makes quick decisions. To the middle. Here’s Johnson. And then Johnson with the dunk. Not the kind of aggressive defense they need to cut into the lead. Yeah, you have to protect the rim, Greg, a little better. Yeah, I’d consider calling timeout right away after that one. The defense has to be better there. The Nuggets have gone one for one making their previous attempt at the line. Warriors trail by seven now. Here’s Curry. Murray. Curry can’t get it to go. Yeah, I’m not sure that’s the look they want. It’s tough working the mid-range area. Curry against Murray. Jimmy Butler comes up with the rebound. Golden State’s gone two of five from three-point land here in the first quarter. Heel attacking. And with the offense getting right to the rim, at least they saved the layup. The Warriors have gone two for two in the game at the line. been at the line last season about 78% as a team. Pretty solid numbers. The first free throw is good and the Nuggets making a change here. Valen Junis has checked in. Moses Moody, he’s checked in for the Warriors. Cold free throws. Good from Heel. Bon Nuggets leading by five. Pass to Valenunis and here is Murray. He’s defended by PMski. Green with the rebound. Oh, this is exactly the kind of opportunity you don’t want to waste to the inside. Healed the pass to Moody and he finishes nicely on the way. The defense has to make it tougher for Butler. Can’t give him that outside. Gordon out of bounds. Golden State takes possession. A different look for Denver. Holmes checked in and it’s Bruce Brown in for Cameron Johnson. Warriors trail by three. Richard, he’s covered by Murray. Some nice passing by Golden State. Jackson Davis with it. Holmes covering. And here we go. Fast break. Murray’s got it. trains the jumper to finish the break. Murray’s got six in the mid-range seeming effortless to Murray. He’s got a touch that makes that shot a good option for him. Pass to post now. Moody. No good on the triple. And here is Murray. He has six on the wing harder. Outside for Murray. Screen by Valenunis inside. Another shot and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. And with how he can operate on the block and shoot it, Valenunis is a tough matchup for most centers. And the first one at the line is good. Stan in a league of stretch bigs. Yonis Valenunis is a true center. He is Kevin. And look, he’ll occasionally take a three, but Yonas lives in the paint. He throws around that 265 lb frame. It’s hard to defend him because we just don’t see a lot of post players anymore. That one falls. So, he hits both of them. And a bruising, fundamentally sound big man. Valenunis is a throwback. More importantly, he’s willing to play whatever role is asked of him. Pass to Moody. Here’s Jackson Davis. Pocket four. Shot on the way. That’s short off the rim. The Nuggets leading by seven. Here’s Murray. He’s got six now. Hardway. Back to Murray. And it’s good. Assisting on the play was Hardaway. Murray’s got eight points. Man, you can’t fall asleep against Murray, especially when he’s got great interior positioning. The D has got to be better. Here’s Jackson Davis still without a basket. The Warriors have looked beautiful. They’re perfect in four tips. That free throw missing. The Warriors making a switch here. Curry’s checked in. Good on the second free throw. 152 left to play in the first quarter. Here’s guarded by Kirk. Pass to Hardaway. Over in the corner. Brown. That one’s in. His first shot this game. And what a way to start this game. Dominating at both ends of the floor. Obviously, guys, brilliant coaching. A perfect game plan. Got that bucket in in no time at all. Curry’s got his second basket of the game. Just shows you how impressive Curry’s shooting ability is that he can adjust for any distance. Pass to Hardaway. Here’s Frother guarded by Kerr. Brown with a screen on Ker. Here’s Fther. And the layup’s good off the glass. And the Nuggets lead by 10. And you can see their strategy coming in. They want to control the paint. Yeah. And until the defense makes an adjustment, there’s no reason to go away from what they’re doing. Here’s Jackson Davis for a center. He’s maybe unders sized, but his ability to get in the air to make a play balances that out. Offside Hardway. We’ve got 33 seconds left to play in the first quarter and Moody pulls it down. Warriors trail by eight and Curry has it in the corner. Twoon one as they jump out on the break. Bucket is good. Building up a big early lead. They have taken charge of this game. Yeah, but you can’t let up at all. They’ve got a chance to put this game away early and they should take it. Here’s Moody. Good. And Curry gets the assist. Well, with his skill and confidence with the ball, if you put him in position, he’ll reward you. What a performance by Jamal Murray. He has been the story for the Denver Nuggets. He notched eight points in the quarter and has that terrific basketball instinct on display. We’ve got more in store for you right after this. And hope you’ve enjoyed the broadcast so far. Halfway through the first half in this one. And the Nuggets guys, what jumps out to you numbers wise? Yeah, in that first period they looked to push in transition at every opportunity. Yeah, they gave the other team no time to breathe. Every time they got the ball, they were off to the races. And you see how effective this aggressive mindset can be. We’ve got Hardway. Joic is out there with Yonas Valenunis. Then there’s Bruce Brown and it’s Drawther in at the point guard. That’s the group on the floor for Denver. Well, if you give him that shot again, I’m willing to bet he nails it, especially with that lack of defensive effort. Joic passes to Valenums. Joic kicks to Hardway. Denver passing it around. Pass to Joic. Six to shoot. Denver needs to get off a shot. Fades back. No good from Valenunis. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State. They trail by seven. No good on the three. Denver shooting one of the high points for them in this game at 54%. Brown dishes to Hardway. Pass to Joic. Here’s Trother. Alen Junis with the ball. Shoots over Jackson Davis. Offensive rebound. Yic. No good. Warriors trail by seven. A floater. Curry can’t get it to go. Nuggets have gone 0 of three and are still looking for that first bucket here in the second quarter. And contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. Stan, I can talk about coaching with you from morning till night, but what’s the most difficult part of coaching that that maybe the average fan doesn’t know about? Well, there’s probably a lot of things like that, Kevin. So, I’ll just give you one. Um, when you’re coaching a star player who’s on the decline a little bit, in his own mind, he’s still that guy he was in his best years, but you have to limit his role, not getting as many shots, things like that. And there can be some tension, and it’s with a guy that you have huge, huge respect for. That’s a great example. Coaching an aging star. Very difficult. And he sinks the second. And we’re now about a minute and a half into the second quarter. Curry deciding where to go with it. Move by Curry taking the foul but still getting the shot. The Warriors have hit most of their free throws tonight. Five of six. That’s good from Stephen Kirk. And it’s been an outstanding game for them at the free throw line, not missing their chances when they get them. He hits both from the strike. We expect nothing less. He’s generally been very good at the line. Brown the pass of Alen Junis. Now here’s Yic. Pass to Hardaway and that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. It goes on Moses Moody. Oh, the officials are all over that one. It’s his first trip to the line and a very steady season for him at the charity stripe. Last year he was right at 85%. And he makes the first hardway hits them both. Here’s Moody. We’re now about two minutes into the second quarter. Outside cur. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Yic on top. He has yet to score. And so it looks like Denver will retain possession here. A sensational block that definitely deserves another look. And that has got to help the morale of this team. Let’s see if that sets up a run here. Here’s Frother. And the ball travels out of his hands. It was last touch by Joic. And for those of you just joining us, we’re almost 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second quarter. Pass to Moody. Now Jackson Davis guarded by Valenunis to the paint. Here’s Curry. The focus from Curry gets it to thaw inside. And buckets like that have been hard to come by. Not the most exciting game. Both sides look way off in terms of their shooting. Yeah, the score is also the result of quality defense. These teams are almost doing more on that. And again, Denver no good. Doesn’t register as a block, but he did everything you want defending that shot. Well, you know, sometimes the most pivotal plays don’t always go on the statue. Pass to Joic. And a little under three and a half minutes elapsed in this second quarter of play. Down low. Joic gets it done right in front in close. Joic so clever at taking advantage in that pick and roll. Curry with it. Fires for three. Another three for Golden State. Now that’s a high percentage look when the D doesn’t fight over the screen. Yeah, it’s certainly worth it to disrupt the offense. Coaches notice that extra effort. Now here is Hardway defended by Moody. Just five to shoot. Here’s Brown. and Santos pulls it down. Golden State’s gone to the three-pointer 11 times tonight. Nile five of them. Here’s Curry with the three. Yic grabs the miss. Yic has got double digit rebounds now in the game. Here’s Trother and it’s blocked. Right side curl. The shot goes down and it gets this game back to even. Curry’s got nine points now in the quarter. Unselfish basketball. That’s what coaches love to see. Here’s Fther to Hardway. Denver passing it around. Now Joic uses the glass to finish the L. Joic has got his second bucket. And if Yus has the position inside, forget it. Here’s Santos. Back to Curry. Step back shot. He gets that one. Curry’s got the game tied up here for the Warriors. Well, maybe the defense thinks they can live with that, but he’s pretty consistent from that mid-range area. Pass to Joic. Hardway with it. Defended by Moody and the basket is good. Got it to go through on the contact. So, a free throw coming up. A great opportunity for a three-point play. All right, Stan. Hypothetical situation. Down one, shot clock is off. If you could pick anyone in the NBA, who do you want taking that shot? Well, I’m going to go back in time a little bit, Kevin. The guy who really made my career for me as a head coach. I’m taking Dwayne Wade. He was the best that I ever saw. Not only did he have the ability to make clutch shots, he managed to game clock as well as anybody I’ve ever seen. The situation was never too big for him, was it? Never was. And he’s so smart in addition to being as talented as he was. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. Wants to talk some things over. Might be seeing some things to adjust. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Christian Browns checked in for Hardway. Here’s Green. Healed outside. Pass to Curry. over Murray. A shot by Curry. No good. And I was sure that was money on that one, but everyone is afforded an easy miss or two. Yeah, it was a great look. Sometimes they don’t fall. You’ve just got to keep taking great shots. Kicks it out to Johnson. Launches a three. That’s in coming off the assist from Joic. Johnson’s got 11. And I feel like Jokic has 360 degree vision. I mean, no matter where the open man is, he’s going to find to the middle. Here’s Powenski. Go into the rack with energy and the D afraid to cut him off. Yeah, got to chalk that one up to some shaky defending. And with the score as close as it is, these are the opportunities you truly can’t allow. The Warriors have been good at the free throw line. This one. Seven of eight. The Nuggets leading by three. Joic passes to Gordon. Pass to Johnson. Lob pass to Gordon. Now Green now here’s Curry. Back to Green to the inside. Curry getting it done inside. Great work inside by Curry there. So clever and composed in the paint. Pass to Joic. Here’s Brown. He’s defended by Pachki. Gordon deciding where to go with it. Four on the clock. Shot by Johnson. No good. Golden State’s gone two for five from three-point land since the end of the first. Denver in the lead. You know, coach, guys who are really productive, like Jamal Murray, often have turnover issues, but you know what? He really doesn’t struggle with that. No, he doesn’t. And that’s one of the great things about him, Kevin. He can be that aggressive, but stay under control and take care of the ball, always poised, nothing seems to bother him. That’s an added quality that you don’t see with a lot of guys who shoot and score as much as he does. Murray, the pass to Johnson. Joic draws the double. Gordon finds Murray. Now Joic over Green and he buries that one. Drilling the rim on the way down. Joic has got six points in the quarter. Spacing things out a little. Smart of Joic to take advantage from that mid-range. Back to heal. Pass to Pajki. Some nice passing by Golden State. A three ball from Curry. It doesn’t matter if it’s off the bounce or off the catch. Curry never loses rhythm on his jump shot. Yic against Green. Outside. Gordon Johnson outside. Here’s Brown. He’s defended by Pajki. The Warriors leading. Healed outside. Tipped away and taken away by Johnson. Murray outside. Pass to Gordon. Yic. High post over Green. Green with the block. No matter what night it is, Green seeks to intimidate and more often than not succeed. And there it is for and an important part of every team’s game. A look at the hustle stats for the Warriors. Well, those early blocks are key. They are intimidating their opponents and making them hesitant. And let’s also give them some credit for running the break so well. They’re making the most of their chances to score in transition. Heat. Heat. What is Alen Junis who’s checked in for the Nuggets. And Golden State also making a change. Moody’s checked in. The Nuggets trail by four. There’s 159 left in the first half. Pass to Gordon. Now here’s Valenunis guarded by Green. And there’s Valenunis on the assist by Gordon. With his strength, it isn’t easy to upset Valenunis with a little contact. You’re going to have to get a lot more physical than that. 131 left in the first half. Green with a screen for heel. A shot, no good. Good D by Johnson. Here’s Brown. Defended by Moody. Kicks it out to Gordon. Valenunis. Passes to Johnson. Here’s Brown. Five to shoot. Murray down low. Curry meets it. Golden State’s gone six of 14 with the three ball tonight. Just a little over 40%. Goes back up. Bob Butler finishing at the other end. Butler on the break. You can’t give him any room to run or you might get your field. Murray kicks to Gordon. Here’s Brown defended by Moody. Drills it from outside. Johnson’s got six points in the quarter. Well, it’s a three-point shooting league. Guys like him are so important for Stacy. It’s 9 seconds separating the shot clock and game play. Moody finds Green. Green with a screen on Gordon inside and two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the content. It’s on Valentunis. At all times he’s on the court. Green is active and physical. He loves being in the middle of the action. These are his third and fourth free throw attempts of the game. And he knocks down the first one. that one misses on the wing. Murray, he’s defended by Pajki. Green inside up and in on the layup. Green’s got the lead up to four now for the Warriors. It’s been all about Stephen Curry for the Warriors. Going on an absolute rampage, piling in the points. He dictated the pace of the entire quarter. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by Courtz. David. Kevin, thanks. Here with Jimmy Butler. Jimmy, you have come a long way in this league. When you look at your career now versus when you came in, how different is it? much different. I think on the floor I’m supposed to do a lot more on both ends of the floor and um off the floor I think it’s still the same. People recognize my hair. Well, it is a unique style, Chimmy. Thanks a lot. Back to you, Kevin. Thank you, David. And we’ll be back for the third quarter of action following halftime. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. And we’re halfway through this one. Plenty of basketball left in a game that’s been fairly even so far. Curry has been sensational. His play so far is what fans love about him. He He has gone right at the defense time and time again. Yeah, he hasn’t been settling. He’s getting to the rim. And that’s him at his best. And on the floor for Steve Curry as we get into the second half. In the back court, we’ll see Curry and Pachki. Buddy Heield is out there with Jimmy Butler. And it’s Green in at the five spot. Important point there. Got him on a nice play getting the ball inside and right to the bucket. Pass to Gordon. This one for three. Green with the rebound. Green’s got rebound number five here tonight. 14 ft away. A tan short, but it’s good off the front iron. 10 points for Jimmy Butler. And the release of Butler’s jumper. It’s so smooth. He has no problem knocking it down from mid-range. Takes it from 10. That one’s in there. The Warrior lead is cut down to just six points. And the bucket from Murray. And so Green will bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. Healed outside. Jacks up a three. And it’s Denver with the rebound. Yic has got 12 rebounds tonight. Big time. And guys, hold on now. I’m getting word. We have Shan’s Chirania calling in. Shams, what do you have for us, guys? Thanks. Well, Jimmy Butler is in the fifth stop of his NBA career. He’d been in a standoff with the Heat as they hesitated to extend him at the number he desired. He knew there’s going to be someone willing to pay up. And guys, I’m very interested to see how Bumble fits in his new opportunity. He’ll continue to track that score. Five shots. Thanks a lot. The Nuggets trail by four. Scores the bucket. He’s seven for 11 and continues to look good. And this is who Murray is. A natural scorer who looks for ways to get himself going. Pajki with it. Laid in with a nice touch off the glass. PJMski’s got five points so far. Great job of screening there. Nice job to take it to the rim and get the finish. Green against Joic down low. Johnson. The pass to Joic. Pocket six outside. Gordon back to Yokic. Johnson for three. Iman Green with the rebound. Warriors leading by four. Here’s PMski. He has five. Here’s Curry. Johnson with the rebound. And now we’re 3 minutes into the third quarter of play. To the paint. Yogic draws the double. Shot by Gordon. Wide open. And a miss there on the triple. The Warriors have gone three of six in the third quarter. 50% from the field. Pass to Curry. Solid play on the low block and that one’s good. Curry’s got 22 on the offensive end. Curry both prolific and efficient. And here’s Joic. It’s stolen by Green. Now the Warriors giving it up to the hole. Thrown down by Butler. And that’s the kind of play you just do not want to give up defensively. You lose the possession and give up a quick two at the other end. Here’s Brown. There’s Gordon with the three. Sinks the three-pointer. He’s got seven. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Co. And coach has decided they need a moment to talk things over. Hey. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. outside Curry. Stan, I’ve always admired you come from a coaching family. Was there a point growing up you knew you wanted to be a coach? Yeah, I look I loved being around the game and so two things happened that drove me into coaching. Number one, I loved baseball and I couldn’t hit one. So that was out and I wasn’t a good enough basketball player to go on that way. So if I wanted to stay involved in the game, that’s when I knew I wanted to be a coach. But your dad had a little bit of that in his background. I seen a little kind of tongue and cheek, right? He was a guy that led the way in your interest there. Yeah, my dad coached for over 40 years and I think he had a great passion for it and always used to tell us that he never actually felt like he worked a day in his life. He loved it so much. Following in his footsteps, terrific story. Honestly, guys, Curry is the best three-point shooter I’ve ever seen. Murray kicks to Gordon. Johnson outside. Gordon with the screen for Johnson. They grabbed their own miss and it’s Joic missing. Warriors leading by nine. Healed outside for three. Curry can’t get it to go. And so it’s Joic with it. He brings it up for the Nuggets. Murray outside. There’s Gordon with the three. Good. And the assist goes to Murray. Murray’s got three assists now in this one. And here is Curry. 25 points in the game. They double him with Joicky on the wing. Shot clock at five. Shot from the wing. No good that time. The Nuggets trail by six. Pass to Brown on the wing. Johnson sets the screen for Johnson. Another three for Denver. And that pick takes the knee totally out of the equation. Yeah, you’ve got to lock and trail hard. You can’t allow him clean look. Curry wide open trying to answer back, but that three is off the mark. Denver’s gone three of seven from three-point range here in quarter number three. Back to Joic. Pass to Murray for the tie. The rebound by Heel. Well, that’s what the defense has to do. Make that shot as uncomfortable for him as possible. And here is Curry. He’s covered by Murray. Curry against Murray. Good defense by Joic. Nuggets trail. Murray. The pass to Joic. And Brandon Pumpsky gets the whistle that time. That’s foul number two for him. And the Nuggets making a change here. Hardways checked in. The Warriors also with a sub. Moses Moody. He’s checked in for Heel. Marie finds Joic. Here’s Hardaway. No boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two. Clearly a foul. And a closer look here at the scoring breakdown for the Warriors. Well, they’ve really been sharing the basketball. All coaches talk about that, try to get their teams to do it. It’s really great when you see it in action. And one other thing they have done well has been scoring in transition. Looking to run whenever they can. First free throw is good. Hardway hits them both. Golden State’s gone two of five with a three-point shot since coming out of the break. Now Pajimski five points in the game. Green and he lays it straight in. Green’s got 11. And you know, Green can get aggressive when he needs to, finding a way around tight defense inside. And there’s the foul. It’ll go on Moses Moody. That will get him his fourth foul of the game. Murray outside. Joic sets the screen for Murray. And it’s blocked by Curry. And quick reaction by Curry. Steph putting some serious effort in defensively. That one goes. Count it. I’m not sure who was supposed to be on him that possession. I mean, apparently not the defenders. Stan, you know, you think about Jimmy Butler and you and I are fans of his game. Talk about a guy who calls it like he sees it, though. My goodness. Yeah, that’s an understatement. Look, Jimmy’s never going to hold back. He’ll call out his teammates. He’ll call out opponents. He’ll call out the referees. This guy acts with no fear. Just don’t call out the broadcasters, right? They want to stay out of his out of his range and he would have no reason to. Exactly. Exactly. Golden State moving the ball around. Butler on the attack as the lead continues to grow. So this is just heady sound basketball. Well, that third quarter is when you want to increase your lead. Really building it up before that final court. Murray the pass to Brown going inside. Swiped it away. Murray against Cur. And it’s Denver with the rebound. Here’s Brown. Murray outside. Joic sets the screen for Murray. The throw. That’s good. And the Warrior lead is cut down now to just eight. And the basket from Joic. Oh, you got to put a body on Joic or he’ll torch you on the offensive glass. Curry pass it to Green. Pajky with it. on its way from Curry for two. Top of the key jumper, no good. And for the Nuggets, they’re shooting right around 42% from the field since the start of the second half. And then Gordon with the dunk out of nowhere. Gordon just soaring in there. And that athleticism carries him straight to the hoop. Now here’s Moody. He has sixki on the wing and this is his second trip to the line in the game. And you know, you’ll take what he can give you from the free throw line. Looking at his numbers, just really not one of his strengths. Shooting in the low 60s last season. That free throw no good. And the Nuggets with some changes. Jonas Valentunis. He’s checked in for Jokic. Aiden Watson comes in for Gordon. And it’s Brown in for Christian Brown. and no good on the second free throw. So he goes 0 for two there. There’s a minute 34 left to play in the third. Murray outside Junis sets a screen for her. bailed from three-point land. Now it’s just a three-point warrior lead. Well, the defense gave that away. He’s a skilled shooter who you have to contest. And Post gets it to go. Post has got his first points in this one. And I just love how Butler uses that pick and roll. Whatever the defense gives him, he takes. Watson for three. That’s in there. Murray with the assist. Murray’s got his fourth assist in this one. Yeah, this offense is rolling. They’ve been assertive, but they’re also playing under control. Yeah, you know, I like how they’re not relying on just one guy to get it done. They’re sharing the ball and keeping the defense guessing. 34 seconds left in the third. Valenjunis passes to Murray and the shot goes in. Murray’s got 11 in the second half. Well, when you move the ball, you open up the defense. Great job to make the unselfish play. 19 seconds left in the third quarter and they pick up two. He’s got 20. And he’s never been shy about asserting his dominance. This is classic Jimmy Butler play so far. Murray with it from downtown. Here’s Valenunis and no luck with that time in the buzzer beater. It’s been all about Stephen Curry for the Warriors. A grand total of 28 points for him in the game now. They have no answer for him defensively. And we’ve got more in 2K Sports coming your way after this break. We’ve reached the fourth quarter and what has been a very competitive game should be an exciting finish. Here’s Brown. Untis Valentunes is out there with Brown. Then there’s Tim Hardaway Jr. and it’s Nakola Joic and it’s Drawther in at the point guard position. That’s the group on the floor for Denver. Brown. Rising to the occasion. He found a way to get himself open and get his shot. Nice job taking the initiative. Coaches will encourage you to take that if you have a good look. Moody finds Jackson Davis outside Curry. Another three for Golden State and you can tell he’s looking for his shot. He just believes in it. Well, yeah. And the defense is going to have to respond to that and chase him off the arc to Hardway. Six on the shot clock and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. 2. That free throw good from Hardway. So he gets them both and we’re around two minutes into the fourth quarter here. Pass to Moody over Hardway and they get it back and the rejection by Valenunis. Excellent use of size there by Valenunis reaching out and just swapping that shot away. Now Joic. Here’s Fther. Joic a screen. shoots it. The rebound by Post and he rushed that one. No doubt about it. The D All position, you could see the frustration on his face. Outside Curry from deep three-point land. Yic cracks. Jokic has got his 18th rebound here tonight. Santos. The pass to Kurt. Pass to Moody over Hardway. The ninefooters on the mark and the Warriors lead by six. Oh, nice feed. Christian Browns checked in for the Nuggets. Pajki, he’s checked in for the Warriors. So, it’s Denver now. Six-point game. Pass to Joic. Five on the clock. Hard away from outside. It’s hauled in by Jackson Davis. Now here’s Moody. D right on him. up top. Pompeki guarded by Hardway. Pajky’s shot is good. And he found a soft spot in the D on that possession. Nuggets have gone two of seven from the field in what’s been a cold start to the fourth quarter for them. Hardway. Here’s Brown. A three. Warriors with the rebound. But got his fifth rebound right now in the game. Axton Davis with it. Back to Curry. Puts up a deep three. Denver grabs the miss. Jokic has got rebound number 19 now. Incredible board. Here’s Brown. This is why defensively you’ve got to get him away from the basket. inside shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. It’s going to be on Yic. I mean, even from over here, you can see that one pretty clearly. Free throw good. Green is checked in for Tim Hardaway Jr. And both free throws good for Green. The Nuggets trail by six. Murray looking around from outside the ar. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. They’ve led by as much as 10. It’s Curry outside. Trains the three-pointer. Curry’s got 37. Heavy incoming from beyond the arc. A key part of their initiative this entire fourth quarter. Yeah, it’s always a little risky to lean this hard on the three-point shot, but when you’re knocking him down, you might as well keep riding. Matching baskets from the perimeter, an earmark of today’s game. And sometimes you get in a shootout like this, but you just hope that you can get a stop first. Curry outside and Brown pulls it down. Brown’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Murray dishes to Gordon. That’s in there. Murray with the assist. Murray’s got his fifth assist in this one. Pass to Moody outside C and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer off line. Here’s Murray and the layup falls. And now just a one-point Warrior lead. And you want him taking big shots for you in big moments. That one was as easy as it gets. Well, with him, he’s dangerous because he’s so confident. He wants to deliver at this moment. Green with a screen on board. Oh, Butler draining the three. And this is why Butler is so dangerous. He’s not afraid to take any shot if he likes the angle. Time out. Nuggets. One guy who’s been getting it done so far. Stephen Curry just killing it from deep. They They’ve got to be all up in his jersey at all times. Give him even an inch and you’re just asking for him to drop another triple on you. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Denver making a switch here. Johnson’s checked in and the Warriors also making a change. Heels checked in. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter David Aldridge. David, thanks very much. was able to listen in on what David Adelman went over with his team. He warned them they’ve got to get back in transition. He said they’ve given up way too many fast break points and he said we have to slow the pace of the game down and force them into taking some tough shots. Kevin, thanks so much David. Joic passes to Mur. Johnson kicks to Joic. The Nuggets moving the ball around down low. Good. Yic can indeed take a little contact. Sometimes he seems to be indestructible with the finishes he can make. Yic is a force down low. Healed outside. Three-pointer off the mark. And Denver, they’ve got a pretty good rhythm going offensively. Shooting eight of 15 for the quarter. Pass to Joic. And here’s Gordon. Here’s Braw to the middle. Six to shoot. Murray Johnson outside to take the lead. It’s rebounded by Curry. Curry’s got six rebounds here tonight. They kick it out to Greensky with it. Front pass the arc. Curry’s shot is good. Curry’s got 40 points. And with a limitless jump shot, the elusive ball handling skills, Curry can get a bucket pretty much whenever he wants. Yic against Green. The Warriors pull it in. Green’s got nine rebounds in the game. Heading it down and Fremont Green picks up the foul. That is his first foul of the game. Oh, great defense there. Anticipated the play and got there first.
