Don’t know why, but this is not a deal I’m worried about getting done. Seems like both parties are happy to continue moving forward and they’ll get to a number that seems fair. In Hughes we trust!
I feel like this will get randomly announced at 8 years + a reasonable number before the season starts.
Anything less than 9.5M on an 8yr deal is a big win. Under 9M is a steal.
There is no alternate reality where Montréal does not sign Hutson.
I read the article and I’m not sure these things are “hurdles”. Nothing is preventing the Habs from signing Lane.
From what we can see of his personality in interviews, Hutson really doesn’t look like he’d be a bag maxer. I think it has to be between 9 and 10.
I do not see the rush. I dont see him getting a bump by being named to the olympics and the olympic break is the most sensical time to do this. One leg injury and he is cooked. A bridge may not be an awful idea. Moreover the league will not be increasing the salary cap in the same way after the announced bump so if we walk him to his next RFA contract at 7-7.5 million the offer sheet compensation should still be equivalent to a 1st and 3rd pick minimum. You have hedged your bet on both ends in this scenario
Never heard of RG.com?
Am I that out of the loop on sports website?
Must be a slow news day because here’s a daily reminder of who hired Lane Hutson agent at his former firm.

I think we will be surprise at how low the AVV is.
I say low/mid 8 millions.
