Red Sox vs. Astros Game Highlights (8/13/25) | MLB Highlights
And for Hunter, that really the only thing that matters is if his team comes away with a win. So there might be a few adjustments just because he has seen them so recently. But the fun matchup to watch here is Alex Bregman versus Hunter Brown. Bregman, a player that made such an impact early on Hunter’s career. Talking hitting and pitching. Those guys, two guys that bonded over how much they love this game. I heard there’s a fun amount of tension around this matchup. Both of these guys extremely competitive. So everyone’s watching. The genesis of the Hunter Brown to Zamer goes back to, like you said, conversations between Bregman and Hunter Brown. Yeah. So now you have a little bit of a matchup where you’re going to play some chess a little bit and see if Alex sells out for the sinker in or if he’s going to stay try and stay middle away. This ball hit through the middle, but right there’s Jose Altuve. Bobbles, recovers, and throws out his former teammate for the second out. Tran was on base three times yesterday, three different ways. Single walk and a hit by pitch as Chaz McCormack hit him in the ninth inning. Ball sky deep to left center field. All the way back on it is Jesus Sanchez and he’ll make the play right in front of the warning trap. So a one, two, three inning for Hunter Brown. We’ll head to the bottom of the first. Marker Ber seven wins, six defeats and got plenty of run support his last time out. A 10-2 beating of San Diego, but he also tossed six scoreless innings and allowed only four hits. Jeremy Pñena had a good night last night in the midst of a tough night overall for the Astros. Pñena had three hits. Pñena hits it deep to left field towards us and it’s gone into the Crawford boxes. JP3 visits us here in the Crawford boxes for a one- nothing lead. Just to the left of us, a laser into the seats to get things going. I hope that we are home run magnets for the Astros out here in the Crawford boxes. Kids really turn into a superstar, man. It’s off the plate. That’ll be the second walk of the inning. Oh, Buer walking two here in the first. Kind of sets things up for possible Giner. Big swing. Giner went two for three against him in that start on August the 1st. And he goes after the first one and delivers a single to the left. Here comes Altuve. No throw. Astros lead two nothing. Big two out knock for Yiner. Raone Aras a 358 lifetime hitter against the Red Sox. And a popup behind the bag into foul territory. Gonzalez ranging. He’ll make the play to retire the side. Walker Ber facing seven. Two nothing Houston. Trevor drove in a run with a hit in the ninth inning last night off Chaz McCormick. He’ll rip that one down the line. That’s a fair ball into the corner. He’s heading for second. Smith will dig it out. And Story on top of second base with a double. Great piece right there. Three 0 pitch. He’s going to take ball four. First and second, nobody out. doubled in a walk and here comes Romy. Romy’s been so hot and he’s earned the right to face more righties. Ground ball towards Altuve. He’ll flip it to Pena for one turn for the double play. That’s how you draw it up. Hunter Brown gets the double play ground ball with first and second. Nobody out. Good turn up the middle on that ground ball. You got to be ready. Hunter Brown, even though he’s a power pitcher, can still go out there and get those ground balls. And now he can see his way out of the inning if he can get Will Abrau. Tried to hold up and he does. That’ll be the second walk of the inning. Runners now first and third with two outs. Now Hunter will face Sedon Raphael with two on and two outs. Mono is swung on and looped into shallow center field. It’s down for a hit. Story scores. Abrau is around second into third. He got just enough of it and the Red Sox get a run back. It’s two to one. Good swing. Drops it out there for a big hit. Big RBI now. Connor Wong who has started to look much better at the plate. Got him. Hunter strikes out Wong for his first strike out of the night to strand a couple. Two hits, two walks, just one run scoring. It’s a two-1 game. Hunter had to work through a little bit of command issues last time. Walk two and allowed two hits. Only gave up one run. Got him. Roman Anthony, we talked about his patience. He has looked at a couple of called strikes in this series against the Astros. The kick in the 3-2 swing and a miss. Went back to the curveball. Durant swings over the top of it and the side is retired. Hunter Brown a one, two, three inning. Strikes out two in the frame. Two two story and that’s bounced the other way. Sliding stop to his right. Walker gets to his feet. Underh hands to Brown who gets the first in time and that’s out number one. Excellent play on both ends by Walker and Brown. Fundamental play. It’s going to take a little bit of a walk to get Hunter Brown back on that bump. Trying to strand a couple of runners. Gonzalez at second. Abrau at first. Astros leading by a run. All right. Big spot for Son. Two on, two out. the 01 and that’s hit sharply on a hot field by Pñena on the backhand straightens up guns to first in time to retire the side. Couple of hits for the Red Sox but no runs. Red Sox chance to win the series going to have to come from behind as they’re down two to one. Marker Beller settling in these last two has allowed only one base runner. Chopper softly toward third. It stays there. Bare hand play by Bregman. He throws to first picked out by Romy. What a great play on both ends and there’s one away. Nobody in the big leagues bare hands balls better than Alex Bregman. I swear he’s ambidextrious or something. He can catch with that throwing hand better than anybody. We’ve seen him do it throughout this season and make perfect throws. He’s smiling into the dugout. That was awesome. He is putting on a show. Great pick by Romy, too. We’ve seen Alex make that play hundreds of times in an Astros uniform. Romy Gonzalez helping him out on the other end. It’s the second time today that the Red Sox have had a man in scoring position with nobody out. Brown was leaning over looking in to Diaz, then started to come up and and then kind of stopped and that’s what got the ball call. If he had stepped off stepped off, it would have been fine. Yeah. Yeah. And so now Yanner Diaz out to have a word with Brown. Maybe more to settle him down than anything else. The 01 and Story hits it in the air. Shallow right toward the line. Altuve and Walker are out. Smith is in and Smith makes the catch. wheels around, gets the ball back in quickly to make sure Durant goes back to second. One away. Pitch on the way and that’s pulled right side. Backhanded by Walker to his right, underhands to Brown who gets to first in time and that’s out number two. Duran goes to third. We’ll bring up Romy Gonzalez who singled his last time. He’s also bounced into a double play. Takes a fast ball up and in. One and0. Duran the tying run at third with two out. Red Sox are hollering for another bark but they’re not going to get it. And now the homeplayed umpire is coming on out. Would he declare from the wind up or stretch or crowd’s going to boo him as the umpires get together here? But the Red Sox were livid about this in their dugout and that both coaches at first and third were screaming a block. Blakey the home plate umpire chatting with Alex Cory here. A lot of times the man on third pitchers got to declare, right? Might come from the stretch to wind up. That’s right. And I don’t know if it had something to do with what they thought maybe he Well, he’s from the stretch here. This will be the first pitch of the at bat out of a windup. It was that fast ball up and in. So Durant stays at third. Now Hunter taking a few warm-up tosses to stay loose. Ground ball right side. Walker’s there. Hunter covers for a fourth time tonight and gets through the sixth inning on a three to one put out for the second straight out. That is the fourth walk of the night allowed by Beller. and just the second base runner since the first inning. Ger the difference in the game with his RBI single in the first inning as he drills one high and deep to left field all the way back and gone. Ger Diaz a two-run home run with two outs in the six and the Astros now up four to one. Oh, out here with the folks. I need me a Yanner bomb and I got it. Yanner with a big swing. So over 30,000 for all three games of this series with the Red Sox. Ground ball left side charging Py. He’s got it underhands a second for one two first double play 643 to erase the leadoff single. Second ground ball double play that Hunter Brown has got behind him tonight. Towards the middle and pass Jeremy Pñena into center field. Wong a two out base hit. Out of the dugout comes Joe Espada with Roman Anthony due up. That’ll be the end of the night for Hunter Brown. See Hunter wanted to try and finish the inning as he stands stoic behind the mound. Six and two/3 for Hunter and he will get a nice ovation on his way out. Bennett Susa the new pitcher when we come back. Well, as we went to commercial, Alex Cora got to work and he has been ejected. He was tossed by the homeplayed umpire Blake. The could very well go back to a bark the Red Sox saw, but the umpires didn’t. Sometimes it gets confirmed inside and you just are still upset about it. I I don’t know what it was about. Could have been something else. Well, meanwhile, Roman Anthony top of the order. Hunter Brown taken out of the game. Got him. Three straight sliders and that’ll do it for the Red Sox in the seventh. Hunter Brown six and two/3 of one-run baseball tonight. Astros lead four to one. So Raone Vasquez taking over the club. Here’s the one two and a ground ball that’s going to skip into the outfield for a base hit. So the Red Sox have the leadoff man on in the ninth. Masa trying to start something and a liner into left field. That’s down for a base hit. Yoshida to second. So the first two have singled here in the ninth inning. That will bring the tying run to home plate. Now you got a Breu up here. King of the three-run homer. Now the 01 and that’s lifted into shallow center. Pñena racing out. Ease camped and makes the two-handed grab. One away in the ninth. Runners retreat. So Yoshida still at second. Gonzalez still at first for Sedon Raphaela who had an RBI single in the second. Foul tip caught by Yer. That’ll be a big second out. Raphaela goes down and there’s two away. Red Sox are going to go to a pinch hitter here in Rob Refder. 31,000 plus tonight on a Wednesday night. They’re going to stand here with two strikes and two outs looking for a final quality pitch from Brian Abrau. Got him. Slider. Slider ends the game. Brian Abrau pumps his chest on his first save of the year and the Astros take two out of three against the Red Sox winning four to one tonight. That is a good series win against a team that swept you on the previous road trip. Well, Josh her going on the IIL. It’s going to take a group of guys out there to get it done, but Brian Abrau has closer type stuff tonight. He put it on display.

“Nobody in the big leagues bare-hands balls better than Alex Bregman”
Uh, phrasing.
Abreu stepping up, we going to be okay
And Seattle lost!! We can do it!
Go Stros! It's weird seeing Alex Bregman play IN Houston but not FOR Houston. Wish you the best Bregs! Like you said.."You got paid!"
I'm surprised Chas McCormick didn't close tonight's game. The closer role was his to lose after last night.
시애틀놈들은 1일천하로 끝났습니다
Astros are scary
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
Jesus loves you!
2 from the Skankees and 2 from the Red Sux. Should have been 5 of 6, but the yankees got that lucky HR and got the one win in NY. Big series now coming with Baltimore, we have to take care of business and sweep this series or at least win the series because Seattle is on fire right now. Love my Astros and know they will take care of business as they are battle tested through and through.
Isn’t Cora the guy that showed everyone how to steal signs?
AWESOME GAME
Every cheesy rich kid is covered in wannabe prison tattoos. What a garbage society.
Religion is we todd it. It's what's wrong with baseball. Hide the little boys!
Astros 💯
Lamentablemente Yoshida no cabe en la MLB
Big Abreu is heating up…GoStros
I still have no idea what kind of balk the Red Sox were trying to pull in the sixth inning.
Anyway, huge performance from Brown! He really saved our worn-out bullpen, and we badly needed this win to stay in the postseason race.
Also, big shout-out to the whole team—amazing resilience to bounce back after losing 14–1!
Every time I watch Walker pitch he loses… man it sucks seeing him like this
Win #10 for Diesel ⛽️
Abreau lets go!! We needed you and came thru !!
I'd pay extra for the Houston Astro's YouTube channel to do their own cut of the game highlights, rather than just reposting the MLB version. I have no desire to listen to what the Boston broadcasters are saying.
Yeser soldados 🙏
How do they keep winning?
vamos ASTROS
Nice
