Chicago Cubs vs Toronto Blue Jays (08-13-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

977 978. We’ve got Cade Horton and the Cubs at plus 117. Kevin Gausman and the Blue Jays at -28. Total 8 and a half. Sub juice to the over at minus 115. All right, Corby. So, I was really close to pulling the trigger on Blue Jays double result right here. I I think Gausman’s been turning a corner and I sort of like and I’m not big on Kate Horton, but then I when you look at Kate Horton’s last four starts, his last 21 innings, he is not allowed to run in each of those last four starts, then you want you worry about one of those, you know, 1-1 first five ties and it ruins your double result here. So, I kind of pulled back. But what do you think your Blue Jays Cubbies? Yeah, I um Gossman’s kind of looked vulnerable at times, but I still think that like probably a little bit too much by on Horton. Also, two things. First off, that Kevin just tossing the two man screen up that fast. Uh unexpected events happening live. So, Kevin to be able to do that on Daily Show. We roast Kevin a lot, but that was pretty that was pretty clean. He should have made me look a little bigger. We’re trying to add some animations to make me look bigger. But the second thing being Kyle, I think that the best um preseason read that we had Oh, he’s already back. Look at that. The best preseason in contractors finishing up the basement currently. So, fantastic. It’s only It’s only okay if we get to see the basement when it’s done. It’s uh it’s an invite. Invite only. The whole team gets to come. It’ll be it’ll be my one absolutely anytime. And two, you’ll see it every time I’m live because it’ll be my background. I’m moving my office down there. Oh, hell yeah. Um, Kyle, not enough respect given to the fact we Why you keep flipping this thing, Kevin? You uh we both crushed the Blue Jays call. This team looks great. Uh three to one in the preseason for them to make playoffs. It’s just in hindsight a ridiculous number for the amount of talent they have. Um I I ended up betting a little bit Blue Jays this morning. Not a ton. Gosman has looked a little vulnerable, but uh inevitably I think these offenses are probably slight shade to Toronto. Uh, probably not as much as it looks like on paper. And then Gman over Horton. So, small small click for me here. Yeah, I I consider Blue Jays double result, Kenny. I do prefer Gausman over Kate Horton. We’ve talked about Kate Horton a little bit here, but his last four starts, he’s not allowing any runs. And so, I I just don’t want to be holding the bag on one of these 0011 first five games, and I can’t get a damn run, and I’m sweating out a walk in the fourth inning. No thanks. So, I stayed away. But what do you think your Blue Jays Cubs? Uh yeah, dude. I talked about Horton uh I think early last week as like a potential like darkh horse rookie of the year candidate. You just look at the NL rookie of the year market and it’s funny. I think the day that I did this, Drake Baldin was the favorite and I I thought that he was just vulnerable on that Braves team and he went then he went three for five with five RBI’s like the day afterwards. So we’ll see. But dude, Horton has been the the best pitcher for the Cubs for the last two months now, right? I mean, he’s he’s kind of kept it together for for this rotation. Um, and dude, I just I I I think there’s something here, man. And you got the, you know, young kid took a little bit to to sort of find his groove in the MLB and then he’s he’s clearly got it now. He’s walking out there with all the confidence in the world. I I I it’s a it’s a guy that I think I want to continue to buy stock in, especially when I I just feel like he’s getting getting disrespected here now. I I don’t love attacking the Blue Jays for strikeouts, especially at home, but like the Horton numbers just feel really really light. So, I did uh Kade Horton just four plus Ks at at plus 122. Uh and then for a half unit, we got some juice here. I did, you know, the Horton masterass. Kade Horton 6Ks parlayed with Cubs money line at 8 to1. I’m in. There we go. So, back in the Cubbies here, Corby and I need the Blue Jays to keep winning. I think I need the C we need the Cubs to lose too, Kenny, for the Reds, by the way. So, we need to stop giving them good juju. Whatever we can do to have the Cubs Maybe this will help. Maybe he’ll jinx them. I don’t think so. You You don’t really have the jinx powers. You’re more of the magic shot and all the good things happen powers. Uh so maybe I’ll throw a few bucks on this Cubs line just to get get them to lose. Not to hurt you, but to help us in the long run. See, this is where betting can get you. Has this ever happened to you guys? Especially football season, fantasy football season. Like, holy I don’t know what I’m rooting for anymore. Do I want a touchdown by this guy or do I not want a touchdown by this guy? I’m playing this guy in my league this week. And there’s all this all this stuff that happens in betting. But for purposes of the show, we’re locking in for Kenny here. We got Kate Horton 4Ks at plus 122. That is a low number.
