Astros VS Yankees Condensed Game 8/8/25

American League than Pñena. We are underway with that fast ball just missing from Schlitler. Schlitler has a short. There’s a fly ball toward the third base side. It’s McMahon and Vulpi over. The shorts stop takes over and makes the catch in foul this year for Anthony Vulpi. Here’s Jesus Sanchez, the number two hitter, and he swats one past Vulpi into left center field [Music] for Houston in 2017. And they have that whole scandal on top of it all. But Jos Altbe will always remember New York. And this one into the left field corner is gone. Wayne, you don’t want to wake up a sleeping giant. and he lives for these type of moments. We said it in the open that when the lights are brightest, that’s who you want after play calls career. But that was a short easy swing getting his foot down with the best of them. Now, we mentioned Alt and Kareah reunited to torment the Yankees, and it didn’t take very long for Jose Alt to get it started here at Yankee Stadium tonight. left. Yeah, Joe talked about this his leadership and his presence and learning how to win big games and you can see what he does and he’s made a calling card to be able to hit the baseball the other way letting the baseball travel deep and so now you’re seeing in the teeth of the lineup and when you get him in the lineup elongated with Walker and company Jose Altuve has hit more home runs against the Yankees than any other team outside the American League West and here’s one more for good measure. Yeah, Slitler throwing a cement mixer getting under that slider and now Juveet known to hunt the pitch early in the count and barrels it and knew it was gone right off the bat and once he gets settled in with with the heart rate everything seems to be better but good pitch right there. Well 99 it’s always a good pitch to 99 with injuries in the Minnesota uniform. Swinging a miss here by Yiner Diaz. Schlitler responds with a couple of strikeouts, but the DH role. Now, Stanton’s been a big bat for them. Not in there. Aaron Boon says the plan is to play Stanton in right field tomorrow. A full count now on Gisham. Does have a lot of pop 20 homers this year. And he rips this one, but right to Christian Walker. One away in the first. The Arsenal. Rice Tursz on it. hits it to the right field corner. That’s going to drop bear as in one hops over the wall in right field. So Ben Rice gets an automatic double to bring up Aaron Judge. Now you never know which is going to be the one that can get you in or put you out. Gisham crosses over to third rather rice does on this ground out by Judge. Two outs as Rice goes from Bellinger. It’s a bouncing ball to the second baseman Dubon. So Hunter Brown works around that double and puts up a zero in the first. For those of you is a fellow by the name of Mike Glavin. You probably know his brother Tom Glavin pretty well. There’s a fly ball to left center field as Gisha moves over to make the catch. One out here in about their season, but they still got a chance to taste champagne and that’s the most thing. Here’s a chopper to Vulpi off the bat of Mauricio Dubon. Two up, two down to really throw a wrench and maybe get sneak into the postseason as well. But it’s going to be fun down the stretch. A good inning for Schlitler who strikes out the last batter Cam Smith and works a one-two Yankee team. They lead the majors in home runs and by a fairly wide margin as Chisum goes down on strikes. That’s the first strike out today for Hunter Brown. Detroit born Verlander idolizing Hunter Brown who strikes him out. Brown threw that change up with absolutely a local kid. Strike three call to Vulpi. So Hunter Brown strikes out the side to do that. Oh, I think it got P on the hand. We’re going to say that he held up his the National League wild card. Three and two this time. Pñena not running as Sanchez lifts one toward the left field line. It’s a long run for Dominguez near the corner and he makes the catch on the warning track. He’s athletic in the box and he showed the ability to do it. He pops this one towards shallow right center but it is Chisum backing up to make the catch. Two outs as Alford to Koreah. So hit batsman and a walk here in the third. Give Christian Walker a chance. Extra pressure on the Yankees with how they’ve played lately. Here’s Walker lining one to right field. Bellinger’s there. Schlitler avoids some trouble here in the third. Be able to give the Lonely Marlins one. Rolled over by Ryan McMahon. Really just focus on the other 27. That throw from Dubon pulled Walker off the back for a moment and he was able. So it’s a little tougher throw than you think, especially with the runner hustling up first base. Two and0 on Wells. It’s a fly ball to left field. that hangs up for Jesus Sanchez shy of the track for the second out. We’ll go to our studio now. Here’s Sierra Santos. The Astros went in there right after them in one two out of three. There’s a fly ball to right center field. Good jump for Trel. He’s there and it’s a one, two, three third for Hunter Brown in the playoffs put him as part of Yankee lore forever as Diaz it’s a bouncer to Vulpier charges in on it for the first out. The fact is all the time. It’s just harder than it’s ever been. That’s a fact that’s a reality. Here’s Vulpi charging this one to his right. Long play to get Tal and he can’t get him. It’s an infield head. Debons hooks one into right field for a base hit. Just a good at bat for Mauricio Don. Tough to strike out to begin with. And now backto-back singles over the plate. Couple of hits for the Astros in this inning. And now Smith with a ground ball. That’s a base hit. They’re going to wave the runner home around third. Trema’s coming to the plate. Bellinger with a great arm. Fires a strike and it’s in time to get Trel. Hit by a pitch his last time. Chops this one over the mound near your second base. It’s Chisum right on the bag to end the inning. So the Astros end up not scoring. Swing. It’s very tough for the hitter to be able to cover that. A ground ball toward the middle. Don gets in front of it with a quick snap throw that time. Plenty on that one. try to get him to chase off the plate. They got him to chase one upstairs at the top of the zone. A fast ball blown by him for strike three. Tell you what, Hunter Brown his best, but he has battled and made pitches when he’s had to. Fly ball to left center. Sanchez gets over and he’s there to win the Hunter Browns. Got to have that on the plate. Grounded to first. Easy play for Ben Rice over there tonight. Pass the third baseman down the line. It’s a base hit for Altuve. His second of the game. And it’s an extra base hit again as well. It’s a double for Altuve. Every time. Round it toward the middle. Vulpi gets down to grab it and retire Kareah. Two outs as Altuve crosses over to third. That’s in 120 innings in the minor leagues. Walker to hit a fly ball to right center. It’s pretty deep. Gisham is after it out near the warning track and Gisham runs it down to in the inning. All right. New York style pizza or Chicago deep dish. New York easy. That’s no problem. I disagree. Mark Leel here with the food. The family’s been doing this for 185 years. Good stuff. That was one big bite you took out of the swinging a miss by Dominguez. Strike three. So Brown continues to roll. That’s 13 consecutive batters retired. He’s fan five. Oh no, man. Those brisket nachos were amazing we had there. It’s a quick inning for Brown. Vulpi tried to run away from the tag. Better off just running straight through, but he’s out. And Hunter last eight games, no Yankee starter has recorded an out in the sixth inning. Vi can’t reach that one as Yiner Diaz leads off with a base hit. Already the eighth hit for Houston tonight. Just one for the Yankees. The Astros have a two nothing lead as we send it. Tiebreaker won’t matter. That ball goes to the back stop. Looked like it hit the glove of Wells and Diaz advances to second base. Should be a pass ball. Trauma with a little deak of that punt. Guardians would likely be just a half game behind New York for that last wild card. Now Trel not bunting. pops it up. A big out for the Yankees as Diaz stays at second base. It’s a bouncer to the left side. So that won’t move Diaz either. Bomb grounds out. Two away. Stack Caspers. Top of the order was coming up with one out. A broken pass. Do Santos with the nifty pick. Yankee pitching has kept them in this game. You hit for a lot of power as a Rocky ball. He takes ball four here. So that’s the first base runner for the Yankees since the line. One was last week. Two and two rounded toward first pass Walker down the line. That’s a base hit along the right field sidewall. It brings McMahon to third base where he’s being held up. Although just now is when Cam Smith picked up the baseball. It’s a double for Wells and the Yankees in scoring position this year as Gisham pops it up. That’s shallow. It’s a long run in for Sanchez near the line. McMahon tagging but won’t try to score. One out for this inning and he lines one to right field. That’s a base hit. It scores. McMahon holding a third as well as Ben Rice has his second hit today and the Yankees are on the board. It’s two to one. And he lines one to right center field. A base hit that ties the game as well. Scores. Headed for third is Rice. The throw too late. Aaron Judge an RBI single and it’s noted up in New York. Guns right here. I’ve been trusting him to try to get the job done. But Bellinger strikes out a nasty pitch from Souza. That’s why Soua is an equalizer. Not only man Rice even Wells maybe you’d see a pinch hitter but Bellinger and Chisum do not get hit for and they both are retired by Souza. These organizations have been the toast for the last. It’s Vulpi in the hole with the offbalance throw. Good play to retire Pñena. Talk about that on the radio. Two balls, two strikes on Sanchez. Swing and a miss. Fast ball blown right by him. inning to the high leverage guys. D Santos trying to do just that. Doesn’t get the call off the outside in a National League Central race. Alt Tub is running on the first pitch. Throw down and it’s not in time. A stolen base for Alt. And now the potential go-ahead run in scoring position. They both have been better this year. Kareah takes ball four. So it’s backto back walks. One by De Santos, one by Dal. Four for eight against him, but he strikes out here to win the inning. No balls, two strikes as Rosario lifts this one to left center field. It’s easy for Taylor Trmell and that’s the first down. 0 for two tonight. It’s a chopper to third. Getting acclimated to his new position. Throws him out. Two. That one’s in there for strike three called. So Souza wins that battle. Retires all five batters that he faced in the sixth. Backto back singles by Rice and Judge. There’s a chopper to third. McMahon handles that. He has a great arm. One out. Check swing tapper right to McMahon. Two up, two down. There’s a bunt, but right back to the bound. The ball handles that and it’s a quick inning. One, two, three here in the toers lead tonight. 0 and two and a swing and a miss. Strike three [Applause] this year. Gisham pops this one in foul ground. Koreah is over and that’s the second out of the inning. Judge on deck. One ball, two strikes and Rice strikes out to end the inning. Brian Abrau was able to avoid that big fly down the right. It’s Weaver. Here’s Keratini with a soft bouncer to second. Chisum grabs it. An easy out. One away. Current road trip was swept in Boston and Pa strikes out here. Two away. [Applause] Now another on three and two and it’s ball four. Sanchez works a two out walk and gets host. He’s one for five in his career against Weaver. At the end of his bat, he pokes one toward right. It’s shallow. Rosario is in and he makes the catch to win the unit. under 200 against him. He pops this one up. It’s Jeremy Pena. The shorts stop on the outfield grass for the first down. Lefties. He’s heard hater before. He dumps this one toward left center. It’s Sanchez rather treml now in left making that catch. So two outs as Bellinger. Two outs. And here is Jazz Chisum against her. and he goes after the first pitch and pops it up. A quick inning for Josh her to send this one to extras. On just eight pitches, he retires the Yankees as Carlos Koreah starts the 10th inning. And that one goes to the back stop. Albe will take third base immediately and Koreah lines one through a base hit. Alt and Kareah strike again against the Yankees. The home run early in the game from Altuve. The go-ahead hit from Carlos Koreah. Bouncer to third. McMahon waits back. Has it. Gets it to second for one. That’s all they’ll do. A fly ball to right center. Hit pretty well. It’s Rosario going back. Still going out near the wall. And he made the catch I think up against the wall. No, he did not. And now the runner at second base, Walker, is forced out. So Rosario, did not make the catch up against the wall. And now a fly ball to right center field. This one is hit well. It’s Rosario at the wall. It is gone. Taylor Tral Divers. The backbreaking blow to the Yankees here in the 10. [Applause] as the third homer this season for Taylor Tra when it looked like the Yankees caught a break. The Astros send the very next swing onto the park to make it five-2. Before the All-Star break, he’s given up four since then. Yeah, but it’s simple. He’s messing up. [Applause] Strikes out Dubon, but it’s a three spot and a lot of moves cascading here at Yankee Stadium. You know, the bullpen having to play well. Well, it’s simple. Fly ball to center field. Hit pretty well back for it though. McCormack has some room. One out. Chisum will take third base. Now Vulpi with a line drive. That’s a base hit. Chisum comes in. It’s five to three. And that will give Aaron Boon a chance to put his rightanders off the bench into this game. First it’ll be Goldmid count. It’s a long at bat. It’s the 10th pitch and it’s Goldmith with a fly ball to right shallow. Sanchez comes in. He’s there. Two outs here in the 10th. The tying run at the plate. It’s Stanton taking ball four. Excellent at bat. Excellent at bat. Misplayed that ball to help the Nationals win that game. But here Gisham lines one to center and it is caught by the center fielder McCormack as the Houston Astros lock it down to the 10th. They score three times and they win at Yankee Stadium 5-3. Yeah, Wayne, this matchup did not disappoint. Back and forth, well pitched ball game on both sides, but the timely hits of Al Tuve and Korea, the main stays of this locker room in the Houston Astros organization end up prevailing and winning a huge game in a hostile environment on the road. Hater did whatever it took tonight. He went two innings. Quick one, two, three, ninth. some traffic in the tenth, but he strands the tying runs and the Astros win the first of this three-game series in New York.

  1. Chili, thanks so much for being so reliable with these fantastic condensed games. I'm in Oregon and its the only way I can watch my Astros. You're the best 😁

  2. Let’s go Trammel! I think people wrote him off too soon, he’s got definite potential.

Yankees fans booing their own team and the astros seems counterproductive

  3. Lotta orange in that stadium now. Cult members with Stockholm Syndrome. Truly fascinating. Not even worth it to troll them anymore.

  4. Christian Walker left so many runs on the bases today… they got to move him from the 4/5 spot until he gets going (hopefully)

Imo just have him at the top of the order and just let him hack away, and then we move on to our more on base oriented players

  5. Yankees fans are such trash. Booing their own players, smh. Altuve continues to be the Yankees daddy. Trammell with a clutch bomb.

Side note: Boone always looks like he just sniffed a fart.

  6. Los Astros deben ser el peor equipo corriendo bases, deben tener el peor cuarto bate de las grandes ligas y están en el primer lugar. Es indudable que el nivel ha bajado en los últimos años.

  7. As frustrating as it is seeing Walker struggle at the plate, I am very thankful he's holding things down at first defensively. I think it feels extra frustrating since he just happened to be one of the 3 guys to stay healthy all year and we didn't have enough legit MLB bats to move him down the order like we've done with Cam while he struggles.

  8. Altuve hitting bombs at Yankee stadium, Correa clutch hit, WHAT YEAR IS THIS???? One thing about being an Astros fan.. it's never gonna be boring 😂

  9. Great game. IMO Walker needs to go lol
Never liked him. Never will. Always walks away from strikeouts acting like nothing is his fault. Anyone else notice this?
