Hader out for at least 3 weeks

  1. Rehab feels like a risky option unless this is very very minor. Even so, I doubt he pitches before the last week of the regular season, even if the rehab goes smoothly.

  2. Thank god we have an 8th inning guy who is better than many closers even though he can drive us nuts with the traffic he gets on base. We need you Abreu!

  3. 6 weeks of season left and almost certainly it will be longer than 3 weeks before he starts throwing again, and even after that he’ll need time to ramp up to game condition.

This feels like a certain “done for the year” injury but I’d be curious if anyone knows more historically about these injuries and the recovery times.

  4. So is this better or worse than we thought? Serious non-sarcastic answers here please.

  5. “After that, the next steps will be determined.” Translation… “We will be announcing season ending surgery in 3-4 weeks.”

  6. Knew it would be a capsule sprain, same thing Brantley had. See you next season Hader😢

  7. Best case scenario is he rehabs before playoffs. We’re not seeing in another regular season game

  8. Gone for season. Most recent case was Senga with a mild strain and he missed three months. It’s mid August. Hader won’t be back this year.
