A Dallas Reunion for Cooper Rush | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive
The Ravens are in Dallas for their second preseason action, and it will be a homecoming of sorts for backup quarterback Cooper Rush. Rush spent seven seasons with the Cowboys after signing there as an undrafted rookie in 2017. After Dak Prescott’s injury in 2024, Rush made eight starts for the team and has earned a reputation as one of the most reliable backups in the league. This weekend he’ll be back at AT&T Stadium, this time on the opposite sideline. Yeah, it’ll be different over on that sideline. Um it’ll be uh something new, but looking forward to it. See a lot of a lot of close relationships over the year over the years there and uh get to catch up with some guys. It’ll be cool. No, I mean it’s, you know, business. Uh maybe if I played better, go out there. I don’t know. But uh no, you don’t really think about that stuff. It’s uh I had a great time there. Awesome eight years. Like I said, really close with a lot of people in that organization. This will be cool. Russ shared he’s starting to feel comfortable in the Ravens offense after getting lots of reps in OTAAS and continuing to expand upon that in camp and preseason action. Really trying to show the current team I’m doing well and things like that uh are the main focus and getting ready to play. Uh those games do matter. Those preseason games do help guys in my position. Uh those reps do count. You learn from them. So when you can uh when you have to go out there in the real thing, it it works. with key starters expected to sit out once again. According to John Harbaugh, he said the plan would be for Rush to get more reps in this matchup. Cooper Rush, I mean, he’s a professional. He’s a pro. Operates the offense well, makes great decisions, handles the protections, gets the ball out on time, accurate passer. Uh I think he’s I think he’s a winning quarterback, you know, and uh you see that every day in practice, and I mean, you know, it’s it’s pretty hard to stack quarterbacks up next to Lamar Jackson, you know, and and uh but we do that. We can we always make those comparisons, but the important thing for Cooper is to be Cooper, you know, and do the things that he does he does so well and uh and win games for you playing that way. And he’s done a really I think he’s had a really good camp. Ravens Cowboys preseason action kicks off at 700 p.m. Saturday night on WB. Thanks for watching. Keep it locked here this weekend for all your game day coverage.
Ravens backup QB Cooper Rush will look to have a strong showing in his former stadium.
