Steelers finish 7-10, will Cowboys hit 11-6 ceiling, or 5-12 floor, Bears 11-6? | FIRST THINGS FIRST
No huddle time ceiling or floor edition via ESPN’s NFL Nation article. This was a huge hit yesterday. Starting off with the Steelers. Either a dominant defense with a few uh with a new weapon in DK Mechaf hitting the ball from a four-time MVP or Cam Hayward is holding in nobody wants to talk about. And Aaron Rogers has thrown for 300 yards just once in his last 40 games. Brewing coach, I hope you guys don’t mind if we could just for a moment before we get to this. Yes. Can we just give Wilds the floor so he can get off this Cam Hayward take that he has whined about in the meeting in the meeting for three days straight. He’s like, I guess I’m the only one who cares about Cam Hayward. Was Cam Hayward good or not? Yeah, he’s good. So go ahead. I I agree. Well, when Cam Hayward said he might set out the whole season, that’s the report. I think that’s newsworthy. Okay, so what’s your take when Jerry I don’t have a take. I’m not a take guy. My take is it’s newsworthy and we should discuss it. What? You know what? We had to do 12 minutes on Jerry Jones saying, “Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.” Like, “Oh, Jerry, you’re a mastermind of content. You’ve got us right where you want.” Jerry Jones like this and we’re this first marinette. Yeah, that’s me. I don’t want to be that. Okay. So, to be clear, you don’t have a camera tape. Yeah, I do actually. Okay. Pay the man. He deserves it. Okay. There we go. You’re not serious about football if you don’t pay him. You got like a how many years dollars? Anything you want to That’s Then I’d be like, “Nick, did you run the number half? Put it on the credit card, but that bill will come due.” And then you’re like, “Hey, you got Aaron Rodgers. What are you waiting for? You got to go for it.” And then coach is like, “Do you guys think Mike Tomlin seat might be hot?” Like, coach, what? Not the way they do it in Pittsburgh. Okay. Thanks. I’m glad we got that in. Well done. That’s perfect. Go ahead. Good. Now, I didn’t want to do it. Can I do a seat on her floor? I feel that like that was therapeutic. Yeah. Yeah. Wild’s riding for me. Bam. All right. Um I don’t want you guys to overreact to this like you want to. Nick is so He’s dying for me to put Aaron Rodgers in the AFC title game, but I am going ceiling. Whoa. See what I mean? are back. No, you are back. I said, did I say don’t back? You’re back. I said 11 and six. Okay, that’s on the table. I’m just saying which one is more likely. All right, you the def I think Cam Hayward will play this year. I think they’ll get that done. You added Jaylen Ramsay, big play, Darius Slate, like they are all in. And Ro, look, that’s only one more win than last year. I do think Aaron Rogers still is better than Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. So, I think 11 and six is the ceiling is what I’m going with. Not saying it’s gonna happen. Here’s the other thing. There’s no way I envision Mike Tomlin winning six games. Winning six game unless Aaron Rodgers just absolutely implodes. Could you imagine Bill and blows up the entire locker room? Well, Bellichic had done that, you know, in before Brady took over and he had done it in in Cleveland that had not so great years. Five points, five five wins, right? So, I I I just can’t envision Tomlin going six and 11. So, I’m not saying I’m predicting 11 and six, but I think that’s more likely than six and 11. Yeah. So, first I love Mike Tomlin, just to get that out. That means going six and 11. So, but they bring in Darius Lair and Rogers, Jaylen Ramsey, Ramsay, DK Mechaf, Juan Thornnehill, Robert Woods, all these are all the new additions. And if this was like 5 years ago, six years ago, that would have been like really super exciting. And and I I believe the Cam Hayward issue is an issue and and and to me that adds some some problems in the in the locker room that they don’t really want to have right now. And the Rogers Arthur Smith dynamic to me is a bigger question than I think people are are talking about. So I’m going close to the floor. Wow. I I I like that coach. I’m with you. Three floors. No, he said ceiling. I say ceiling. He did a whole thing about a little score. Clearly I got lost. You don’t have your scoreard. No, he’ll have a score card. Don’t worry. He’ll score. I’m the one saying ceiling. Can I give my answer? Um the so I understand the argument of they always you know with bad quarterback play they win nine or 10 games. There is an element of as bad as this sounds those years the team expected bad quarterback play and they were anti like they were not necessarily building a team around that but they they understood there was going to be a way they had to win games a style and it was always a lot of Mike Tomlin voodoo with some weird special teams play steal a victory really good defense those types of things I think this year they are anticipating the best quarterback back play they’ve had in almost a decade there. Best quarterback play they’ve had since, you know, not just Big Ben, but a couple years before Big Ben actually hung it up. And when they don’t get that and when they realize, oh, it’s kind of another same old Steelers going to have to win 1713 with defense. I wonder if they have the juice for it. I also do think and I think it’s fine to fold it in here. I don’t know if I’d make it A2. That Cam Hayward potentially not being around could be damaging to them. And he’s old enough and has made enough money that you do wonder how, you know, is this a bluff or is it not? And I also am not a believer that the Rogers DK Metaf combo is going to provide the dividends they expect. So my my my actual prediction for Pittsburgh going into the year is seven and 10. Wow. That’s that that predictions week spoiler. That’s where I have them falling. But so I think six and 11’s more likely. Thank you. Why? Cuz he knows Mike doesn’t have losing seasons. Especially not six 11 losses. It’s more of what the points that you made. Yeah. No, I’m not because everyone’s like what? I know was layered. You’re I know that’s your thing then. We’re head to Dallas, but actually Oxnard. You’ve been to Oxnard? No. Beautiful. You’ve been? Yes. Oh, okay. It’s beautiful there. Uh camp’s closing. Dak has uh two great widers. Look at the backwards visor. Oh. Oh, even motivated coach with a backwards visor or Jerry’s drama is actually a distraction and a seven-point opening night underdog. Uh Dallas Cowboys actually just a sign of what to come. Coach ceiling is 11 and six. The floor is 5 and 12. What’s more likely? Yeah. So, I I like Shotti as a head coach more than I think anybody else does. Brought in four new running backs to address the running game. Brought, uh, drafted an offensive lineman in the first round. Okay. So, that they’re trying to address that now. I just hope he will address the running game. And I hope he will stay with the running game. There were times when when we were together where I had to nudge him a lot more towards the running game. No. Yeah. You wanted him to run the ball more. I know. I know. I know. I know that’s shocking to you. I like I like I flu as the DC. I think that he’s going to simplify the defense. Does some complicated things on third down, but it’s going to be a nice balance and probably an easier program for them to digest than what they had last year. And you can say what you want about him as a head coach, but he has that experience. So that’s going to allow Brian to concentrate more on the offense and he will add value there. I’m not sold on on pickings. Wide receivers that leave Pittsburgh typically don’t do very well and I don’t love the fact that we’re back to more training camp drama. So I’m going floor. Wow. I thought you started off like misdirection. Uh yeah, I don’t I don’t think they’re going to be able to rely on the run game because I don’t think even though they brought in four running backs, I don’t know if any of them are going to pop and I think they’re going to be trailing a bunch. The only thing that I think hits the over for the Cowboys this year is Dak Prescott passing yards and CD lane receptions and receiving yards because I do think statistically Dak and CD could have huge years because they’re trailing a lot and they have to throw the ball a lot. I think this is the least talented team that Cowboys have had of Dak’s career. And because of that, I think a a you are one Micah Parson’s hold out or injury away from having one of the a bottom five defense in football. So, I am floor. Well, look, if somebody gets hurt, but I I I look at this is I’m assuming everybody’s healthy. That’s how I make my predictions. And remember, Wilds, this is not about what they get closer to. No, closer to the ceiling. Closer. This is which one of those two. All right. This isn’t Are they going to go seven and 10 again? No, we know, bro. Okay. I’m just just I just want you to remember. Thanks for clarifying that. I was confused. One cuz look, they won seven games a year ago with Dak missing half the season with with Micah missing several games. All right. This is the Rogers. What? This is the Rogers take. It’s just the truth. Games better than No, it’s the Dak Prescott every year of his career that he has been healthy for the season, 16 games or more. He’s at least he’s 8 and8 was his worst. He’s not going five and I’m I’m not the biggest Dak fan. They ain’t going five and 12 with a healthy Dak Prescott. All right. The run game I’m I I I I’m not all high on it. Uh cuz those guys didn’t average four yards a carry last year. But um no, there’s no way they’re going five and 12. 11 and six. Why does he get three points for that? I thought it was I’m cooking most of the time. I’m cooking. You don’t owe him an explanation. Jack sold. He fell asleep on his own take and got three points landing. But well, you you do not owe them an explanation. You just you just call it like next up in Chicago, new line, new coach, sophomore bounce for Caleb or a tough division and a steeper than expected learning curve in Ben Johnson’s complicated offense. The ceiling for the Bears 11 and six the floor 6 and 11. Nick, what do you like here? Ceiling. And I don’t think that’s the ceiling. Ooh, I it’s again that’s always a good one. I’m not I’m not predicting that they go 12 and five, but I think it’d be crazy to act like that’s that that’s impossible. that the absolute their best case scenario season is 11 wins. I think that’s foolish. Uh listen, I understand Wild’s skepticism of Ben Johnson uh thinking he’s a genius when he hasn’t yet been a head coach. I get that. I am, however, fully confident that they will have a better offensive plan, operation, and tactics than they had last year. I’m also fully confident, even if you guys think I overrated Caleb coming out of the draft, that he is in year two going to be a better player than he was in year one. I’m also fully confident that their offensive line is going to be better this year with the additions they have made. You add to you add to that the fact that I think you are going to see a slight comeback not a slight but a significant comeback from where Detroit was last year at 15 wins where Minnesota was last year at 14 wins and I’m Green Bay maybe around the same where they were last year they 10 11 11 and six uh I think the Bears going 11 and six is not only not the ceiling but a pretty likely outcome. So, I say 11. Look, 11 and six is possible. Um, but I’m saying the floor. Wow. All right. Here’s why. What about the Budless bump for Caleb? We’ll see. But, but right now, I mean, Caleb clearly is kind of behind right now. I think there going to be some growing pains early. And just because Ben Johnson was a fabulous offensive coordinator, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a great head coach. Josh McDaniels was a is a great offensive coordinator. Matt Nai was a great offensive coordinator. They didn’t work out as head coaches and they’re obviously in a monstrous division with the NFC North. They then they play the AFC North. So like that’s their their schedule is really tough. So if it’s not clicking, they will have some L’s. So I’m not predicting 6 and 11, but I’m saying that’s more likely than the ceiling. So I’ve liked the Bears for the last couple years and and when you look at this, they bring the three new offensive linemen. I think that’s huge. I really like Coloulston Lovelin, the tight end that got out of Michigan. I think he’s going to be a significant weapon. Dennis Allen as the defensive coordinator, better than you think, especially in points allowed. And then we forget this, but they started 4-2 last season and the Hail Mary game. If they had won that, they would have been five and two and everything could have changed. So, as as as now they lost 10 straight after that, but this this is not a a team that’s that’s void of talent. I think they’ve got a lot more talent than people anticipate. And I don’t know Ben Johnson very well, but I’ve liked the things that I’ve seen that he’s he said. Uh so I’m going uh ceiling. Did you hear what he said about the tush push? I did not. He said he doesn’t like you explosive play. I also coach had the money ball. Last one is always the money ball. Give me this. Wait, give me this, bro. You won’t believe what Wilds just did. Cuz I forgot we had the money. Wilds Wilds wrote down a three for coach, a one for you, and then realized you both had seven points. So then he changed the three to a four and turned the seven into an eight. Undefeated. Thanks for watching. Subscribe here to get more from the show and to check out clips from other shows on FS1.

You guys are crazy the steelers will finish with 11-6 record they will make the playoffs or D will be one of the best out there. So 7 and 10 put that in the trash you don't know s×××
The Bears takes are where Nick fully loses me.
You all make your living primarily by talking about Black athletes, many of them young Black men. Meanwhile, you stay silent while young Black men are harassed and scooped up off the streets of DC solely based on their race. Shame on you! Nick and Chris you know better. Kevin, White dude from Boston, at least you're not making things worse. At least you haven’t joined ICE, yet.
Bears are not good lmao
The Bears winning 11 games 😂😂😂😂😂
Wildes crammed a speed segment into a regular segment 😅
Zac Taylor doesn't have losing seasons either except for his first 2 rebuild years. Nobody gives af.
Nick really doesn’t like Rodgers lol
Has the Bears who were 5-12 saying you’d be crazy if you think 11 wins is their ceiling yet the Steelers are gonna have a losing season lol
Goated segment, Wildes is 100% objective!
Thumbnail for video "will Bears win more than 11 games" click on video, 9 minutes in, not one mention of Bears. Going to block this YouTuber for clickbait
I think the bears can win 11 games. Honestly I look at last year like an 8-9 win season. We went 5-12 but there are 3 losses in those 12 that are completely at the feet of coaching. We upgraded head coach and offensive line. I think 11 wins is definitely on the table
Bears schedule is brutal. I see 4 wins on there schedule and maybe 2 surprise wins totaling to 6 wins. I just don't see them winning that much this season. Maybe next season.
Patiently waiting for predictions week 🤗
The things Caleb must do for Nick behind the scenes for Nick to talk about him that way on national TV is nasty
The media wants Caleb and the Bears to be good so badly…he stays mediocre or becomes just average his entire career will invalidate so many things especially if Fields has a decent career in NY
Not enough is said about how wildes gently encourages competition and motivates these guys to fight harder with their takes. When brou gets cooking, and wildes is dishing him out points, he does start cooking.
Cowboys ain’t going 5-12 😂😂😂
Nick is absolutely delusional to think the bears win more than 10 games this year lol 🤦🏻♂️
That’s crazy, if the Steelers had this squad 5 years ago they’d be hot. But now, not so much. 7 wins maybe 8
Brou always getting the points despite the obvious pandering to Wildes, is embarrassing and makes these scores pointless .
Fox sports Steelers hate wild
FTF there should be a tally for all the prediction takes then at the end of the year before the superbowl maybe you guys do segments revisiting these types of takes
I'm thinking we end up 9-8. 🐻 down
Cowboys will have the best record and win the superbowl
Protect Kevin Wildes at all costs
As a packers fan the bears ceiling is like 13-4. If Caleb is the guy everyone thought he was when he got drafted then there’s no reason they couldn’t go 12-5 or even 13-4
Love this show but they don’t know Steelers football at all lol Nick said cam Hayward not being around. He’s at practice. At camp. In meetings. Just not fully participating on the field yet. Also said we are building around Rodgers. Wrong. We will have a better defense this year for sure. A way better secondary. Even if the pieces are older. And last thing, if Rodgers plays exactly how he played last year and has the same stats for our team we win 2-3 more games. 🤷🏻♂️
Matt Nagy was not a great offensive coordinator. He didn't even call plays in KC back then. 🤦
Didn't Cam get a contact last year?
No player is ever going to sit out a year since Bell did it. You lose way too much money especially with the new agreement. They get absolutely destroyed for sitting out.
Coach bad I want Danny
Wildes for the win!! 😂
10:18 The Bears floor should be where they were last year 5-12, to put their ceiling in the double digits when they haven’t made it to a winning season is crazy, 9-8 ceiling
Bears ~12-5 every August
These guys are a riot!!! Number One show!!!
I live in oxnard. The beach side is nice. Then you drive 10 minutes inland and you're in gang territory.
Another delusional bears fan.. 😂😂😂
I hope nick sits out the season
What a horrible person
In the same way we chiefs fans find it offensive to predict anyone else to win the AFC West when KC has done it 9 times in a row, I think it’s disrespectful to keep predicting Pittsburgh to have a losing season until it actually happens
Slay n Ramsey. lol. Their best days are way behind them. Pitt is a 6 win team, at best. Metcalf will miss 6/7 games. Rodgers has been done for 3 years. Tomlin will turn a blind eye to these head cases due to he’s gone after this season. Not good in Pitt. 🙃
99% of qbs have a sophomore slump as defenses figure you out. Caleb is a bust. The bears hype is hilarious to watch.
Gotta be so ffr 🐻 going 11-6 implies they beat the vikes at least once probably twice and im here to say there’s a better chance of lief Erickson coming back to life than those 🐻 beating the PPEs twice
Pittsburg going 6-11 just isn't going to happen. The likely hood of the Steeler's having a losing season is just minuscule. I really thought last year was going to be our worst season and we were above 500. Winning 1 more game than last year is more likely anyone saying elsewise is just being stupid on purpose.
with the bears schedule it will be hard for us to go 11-6
lol ill remember this take when the steelers are 10 7
A lot of nicks arguments for the bears being good this year is the honestly the same as last year
