They Just got CAUGHT…

They just got caught. As it’s been no secret, a lot of people online, a lot of analysts, a lot of writers are not happy with the current construction of this Toronto Raptors team. With Bobby Webster, Messiah Jerry’s put together an expensive roster that’s brushing up against the cap and wasn’t super successful over the past couple of seasons. There’s a lot of people that are criticizing this current team and expecting the Raptors to blow it up one way or another. However, a recent article written, a recent trade proposal discussed out there online just reveals how people are actually analyzing the Toronto Raptors and why it makes no sense. 99% of the criticism that’s getting thrown that way. Well, some of it’s valid. Of course, there is a lot of people that do not understand this Toronto Raptor team, do not understand what’s put together, and they’re exposing themselves with these recent reports. So, we’re going to discuss what’s going on out here with these trade proposals, what we can actually expect from this Toronto Raptors team heading into the off seasonason, and if a big blockbuster move ends up going down, the only way that it could potentially happen. So, lots of stuff to break down out here in this video. But folks, you guys been crushing it, the support as of late. Appreciate every single one of you. But still, over 53% of our viewers have not hit the subscribe button just yet. So, make sure you guys hit that sub button if you don’t want to miss a single thing going on with this Toronto Raptor team as we inch closer and closer back to the regular season. But, let’s dive into the news because frankly, there’s some absolute absurdity that we have to discuss that we have to dive into in this video because it’s no secret. We know there’s been some bad trade proposals thrown out there online, especially when it comes to mid August, one of the most dead times of year for NBA news. And of course, you’re going to see star players thrown out there at different trade discussions, trade talks, you know, banter. Oh, would this trade work? Would this deal work or anything like that? And of course, Scotty Barnes is going to be one of those players that’s thrown out in those discussions. However, this one might be one of the more absurd ones that I’ve ever seen. You saw the thumbnail, you know, Tyler Herro, Scotty Barnes. This is the three team trade put together by heavy.com, which frankly is just sickening. And that is what it is. We’ll take a look at it here right now. Essentially, they’re pitching. The Chicago Bulls received Scotty Barnes. The Miami Heat received Kobe White, Zack Collins, and a lottery protected 2027 first round pick from the Chicago Bulls. And then the Raptors received Tyler Herro and a lottery protected first round pick. So, we don’t even get, you know, if if it’s a pick in 2028, it falls in the lottery. We don’t even get that. So, it’s essentially a Tyler Herrow for Scotty Bards trade straight up, which I don’t want to disrespect Tyler Her on this video, and I I’ll bring up the the positives of Tyler Her. This is not what this video is about. He averaged 24 points per game, five rebounds, five assists on a pretty mid Miami Heat team last season, but very good scorer, very elite bucket getter. Do not get me wrong, Tyler Hero is a guy that can shoot the three ball. He can score in different areas. He can do a lot of things very, very well out there on the basketball court. Not throwing any shade or disrespect against Tyler Herro. However, if we traded Scotty Barnes for Tyler Hero, that would be an absolute disaster class of a move. It It’s not something that should be comp contemplated. I know there’s some guys that love Scotty Barnes. Hate Scotty Barnes. You know, everyone’s all this, that, and whatever. Scotty Barnes is a much better player than Tyler Herro for the modern NBA, especially when you factor in the defensive side of the basketball court. That’s the only thing that you really, you know, offensively he’s a better passer. He can facilitate, he can do all this stuff, you know, score in the paint, all that. Tyler was a better shooter, of course, but other than that shooting aspect and, you know, he can dribble of course, you know, get to his spots better than Scotty. Scotty has more size. He’s a better passer. He’s a better creator out there in the, you know, for his teammates on that passing move. I’m not going to come out here, you know, we take a look at Scotty’s stats as well. We brought up Tyler Heros. You have 19 points per game, eight rebounds, six assists. And while the three-point shooting isn’t there, defensively is just on a total another level than Tyler Herro. And that upside for Scotty Barnes is just very it’s it’s different than that Tyler Hill guy. And then on top of it, if we look at the Raptors roster, we have so many guys that play that shooting guard position that play that oneway offensive scoring. Whether it’s RJ Barrett, whether it’s Jacobe Walter, whether it’s Grady Dick, heck, you have AJ Lawson out there in the wings there right now. You at that shooting guard spot. You have Elijah Martin who just drafted in the second round. There are so many guys that play that role, that play that need of Tyler Harrow, which you know, people talk about RJ Barrett being empty calories. like Tyler Herro is good. Do not get me wrong, but you know, there’s a lot of those same criticism getting thrown that way there. Not disrespecting Tyler Herro, but he should not be in the same class as Scotty Barnes. Putting that to bed. Do not make that happen. If the Toronto Raptors go out even contemplate a move like this, again, this is getting pitched by writers and stuff. That is what it is. But why I really want to sink our teeth into this, why I really want to talk about this, because frankly it exposes what a lot of the narratives, a lot of the discourse around the Toronto Raptors is actually coming from. It’s coming from a place of people that just look at the box scores that look at, well, Scotty Barnes getting paid all this money. The Raptors are over the caps and he doesn’t even average 20 points per game. Like this is the discourse, the analysis, the level of depth that we are getting out here on the Raptors, blowing it up, making these trades, doing these different things. That’s where these people looking from the outside in are pitching all these Toronto Raptors. And frankly, it is absolutely absurd. Of course, this is one of the more dramatic ones with Scotty Barnes. But RJ Barrett’s getting thrown in a lot of these discussions as well, just as a guy that’s trash. And you know, I’m criticizing Tyler Herro for similar things. Like if you are going to be dealing away RJ Barrett for nothing and Tyler Herro ends up netting you a guy a prospect the caliber of a Scotty Bars you’re talking at both sides your mouth. It’s just hypocritical. It is idiotic. It is stupid. So if we’re going to be having you know this Tyler hero this Tyler Herro glazing session saying he’s better than Scotty Bards and then you have uh you know RJ Barrett out there getting dealt away for peanuts. This is why I started the movement. This is why I want people out here wanting to ride the streets to keep RG Bear at least the start of the season before we have to figure out make our decisions with the cap to see how good this roster is going to be because the reason R.J. a lot of these trade talks are being brought up by the more serious ones are of course because you know you have and then the Scotty Bard’s deal it’s it is I’m not going to dive in that further but the Raptors are 198 million there. So they’re uh you know close to the second their first apron with unlikely incentives that they have attached to guys like Yaka Purle, Emanuel Quickley, these types of players. So it’s uh you know they do have to cut some salary if they want to get out the tax. We’ve seen ownership basically say that this team needs to be competitive in order to them to be interested in going to the cap. So that into the luxury tax. So that that’s the whole argument. We made a bunch of videos on this already, but essentially the Toronto Raptors are not going to be dealing away these guys willy-nilly like a lot of these trade proposals, a lot of these things are coming out there at the extremes. The only way the Toronto Raptors are making a move now at this point is once they sign a president of basketball operations and if that guy comes in and he is just unhappy with a certain piece, a certain aspect of the roster. And you know, it’s likely that, you know, there there’s been a lot of back and forth about whether or not Bobby Webster is going to get that role or someone else, you know, external Steve Nash, you know, the the president out there of the Indiana Pacers. There’s been a lot of guys linked to the Raptors position here. It’s been a pretty quiet search, but depending on who that guy is, that’s going to be the real determining factor whether or not the Raptors are going to be willing to I don’t think they’ll actually blow it up, but you know, to make one of those, you know, explosive trades. And you know, we did get some insights from uh you know, Keith Pell essentially saying that Bobby Webster will be a candidate for the president of basketball operations. Already talked about that. He will be interviewed and I think the president of basketball organizations is always appealing. So, you know, he basically went on to say that anyone across the NBA would be interested in bringing him in. But Bobby Webster will be a candidate. He apparently seems to be the favorite to land that Raptors position. Of course, being the current GM of the Toronto Raptors, getting that elevated role. But as said, the urgency is to find the right person. And if that’s next week, perfect. If that’s in a month, that’s fine, too. And if it’s in two months, that’s okay. And that’s the number one priority to find the right person that can back up, get us back to winning championships. Now, that is the approach. The one thing that uh you know, cuz if Bobby Webster’s here, of course, these trade rumors and windows should be thrown because of course Bobby Webster was a key part, key player in putting this roster together. He did want to keep Seakum rather than dealing away. So, I’m Messiah Jerry’s fingerprints all over this roster, of course. As well, Bobby Webster will probably want to make some tweaks to make it look more like his vision, but basically Bobby Webster will won’t be doing any drastic stupid deals like this. And uh but if we get a new guy coming in, we’re not sure. The Raptors have been well managed, well organized over the past decade or so. So, a large part due to Masai Jerry, but you do have to give credit to ownership for keeping him around for that length of time. Now, hopefully they have to get it right with their next selection. But, you know, the fact that Bobby Webster hasn’t been given that role already at this point. I mean, Messiah Jury was fired around what, June, uh, late June, early July, you know, if memory serves for me correctly. So, it’s been a long time. They said it’ll be a couple months. We’ll see how things actually play out. They’re trying to find the right person, but they haven’t figured out Bobby Webster is the right person yet. I would not be surprised if they do go and end up going in a different direction here now at this point. So, let me know what you guys think about all this in the comments section down below. Who do you want to see be the next president of basketball operations? Do you uh you know, are you agreed with all the discourse, the discussions that the Raptor should make one of these blockbuster moves? Let me know in the comments section. You guys best think as far. Subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already. Anyways, I’m signing out. Cheers.

The Toronto Raptors’ roster construction has received a lot of criticism over the past couple of seasons, and while some of it is certainly valid, a recent article has revealed the deluded perspective many of these critics are coming from. 1. Are you kidding Ben ???? Wtf are u taking about the heat would laugh us off the phone , hero is a stud and sloppy isn't it , can't shoot and stop about his defense he can't card iso at all and is a turnover machine ! We would be lucky if we get a g league players rights for sloppy…stop bro …just stop

  2. How can you judge the construction of a team that never played a game ? 🤷‍♂️ There’s too much focus on “on paper fit” the game is played on the court. Remember when these guys were raving about the Knicks super team when Derrick Rose went there ? It was Derrick Rose, Porzingis, Melo, and Joakim Noah. Remember that classic quote from Derrick Rose during the press conference “they’re saying us and Golden State are the superteams” 😂 The basketball world thought they were the perfect fit. They flopped!! All this “ on paper” talk means jack 💩. Every year they’re telling us the Clippers have the right fit. The game is played on the court and until we see players play together we just don’t know if they fit or not.

  3. You have 4 20 ppg in your starting line up. Your bench has 2 6 man of the year candidates. This is a playoff team. Your core 6-7 guys are solid. I only see 1-2 tweaks from role player to be a championship contender.

  4. Halfway through the video still donno who got caught… ☹️ There will be a million speculative trades, none of them matter. Can’t wait to see our current team in action in October

  5. Those that aren't happy with the construction of the team, can't envision a new style of play. Everything is based on 2024-2025 season for them.

We've got a futuristic play style right here, and the key is the trio of Scottie / Ingram / CMB.

  6. not a good deal for raptors, how about trade away rj barrett instead, if they can't get derrick white, try to get donte devincenzo. maybe scottie for evan mobley

  7. Yes Ben teach these casuals about Scottie, I bet someone here think herro better because he averaged more points last year and was an “all star”. If you even had to think about considering this deal, just know you need to get more educated on your basketball knowledge before speaking on this raptor squad.

  8. I been a raptors fan my whole life and I feel this has been the scenario every year even in the Chris Bosh era. IM JUST CONVINCED PEOPLE HATE ON RAPTORS CAUSE THEY ARE NORTH OF THE BORDER hypothetically speaking we could get Curry, KD, Giannis, and Jokic on the same team and they would still be considering us as underdogs 😂😂💯 IN THE REST OF THE LEAGUES EYES WE JUST ARE NEVER GONNA GOOD ENOUGH it's lame but it's just how it is.

  9. FR FR Most of these guys doing analysis are not looking beyond box scores. Any raptors enthusiast who is watching each of these players get reps has a better scouting report than these "big" names do. Literally raptors digest subscribers have better data than some of these reports smh
