Marucci did a great job of sending me some custom bats. This one right here is my son, Drew made a drawing and uh they put it on the bat so I guess I added a ball mark to it in VP. But um all good, excited uh excited for players weekend. It’s always a fun time with the Miami Marlins in town Lucas Giolito who lately has been just about automatic at home, gets the game one assignment against the fish 377 A but he called his start in San Diego in which he walks six inexcusable trying to get back to throwing more strikes. Kyle ST the left fielder 2 85 25 home runs. He’s their power. This is driven deep to the gap in right center field that’s going to bang off the wall stour is on his way to second and he slides in safely with a one out double for Miami. That’s just a massive mistake by Giolito. Here’s Liam Hicks left handed, hitting designated hitter miss for strike three, got him with a change up, a double one left red Sox coming up in the first and on the mound tonight for the Marlins. You see the number 22 on the side of his cap. It is cabal 24 start. You see the, er, a, the record throw all that stuff out the window. You just hope that he has a bounce back start. Roman Anthony leads it off. He waits on a 12 offering from sandy here in the first inning. He waves and misses at a curveball. Nice start for sandy Jared Durant, a 263 hitter with 12 home runs in the year to left ST going back and he’s got it right at the base of the wall and a perfect 123 1st inning for sandy Otto Lopez right handed hitters that liner in center field driving back on the run with a pretty play with a hot shot by Lopez one gone tell you what they are jumping all over first pitches. I mean, it is a clear approach by this ball club. You go up there and hack him at the first pitch of the at bat. It is nice to have him back in center field because he is just gliding to this one, so one away quickly here in the top of the second and here comes Jacob Marcy. Here’s a fair ball headed into the right field corner. Marcy is on his way to second and in his first plate appearance and at bat here is Fenway Park. He’s got a double second consecutive inning. Now the Marlins have gotten themselves a one out double two down, Marcy down to third. The hot hitting Graham Paul one ground ball story waiting on that gets him and that winds up being an eight pitch inning two down and Rome Gonzalez will be next. There is called strike three. Now contra rings up Gonzalez, that’s a perfect second and the lineup card flips back to the top and Xavier Edwards, he rips this to right. Brey started in and it’s over his head. Edwards is on his way to second. He’ll stop there already. The third double of the night by the Marlins, that one appeared to fool the Brean, right. The batter’s kyle Stowers, you’ll see the hashtag lion. That’s a tribute to his best friend in high school, Jason Lyon who passed away of brain cancer for Kyle. It’s a way to honor his memory and keep his family who he’s still very close to in his heart. Another phrase on that bat says fight the bear. There was a bear up at the top of the barrel of that bat. He said that phrase is about fighting adversity, something we’ve seen kyle do throughout the season. It’s, it’s a mentor, his mentor , Uncle Jason Jenkins said, when you face a bear, you’ve got three options. You can either run away from it. You lose track of all the progress. You can stay, keep repeating the bad habits or you can fight and that’s something that kyle has been doing day in and day out. ST waits on the 2 to 0 and he lifts it in the air to left center field. Durant’s going back. He’ll give it a look. This is off the monster Edwards got a great read, second double of the night by stour. His team leading 73rd run batted of the season and it’s 1 to 0, Miami. He might want to continue to use that bat because he’s been hot. That’s two hits with that bat, two doubles and the batter is Augustine ramirez swinging miss to put him away. You mentioned he’s so fond of that slider. There’s a put away pitch. He got one by him there. So two out and a man in scoring position now for Liam Hicks slam back to Durant. He is there on the track to make the play. He hauls it in a run in one to and so far. Contras mowing down the Red Sox swing and a miss on a fastball at 99 miles an hour third strikeout of the night for sandy two down in the third for Narvaez bounding ball out to short Otto’s got it three up, three down go the Red Sox here in the third. Otto Marci Wagman here against Gito on and the change up gets him for the strikeout one gone. Here’s the change up and this is it just live off the plate aboard with a single, got him to go fastball. He struck him out one left and the Marlins strand another, they’ve left four Red Sox don’t have a hitter, a baserunner yet. Two pitch is in for a called third strike. 98 paints it on the inside half and Sandy is set down the 1st 10 , Jared Durant digging in. Durant swings the chopping ground ball to the back of the shortstop Lopez. He tries setting his feet, he fires to first and it’s in time to beat Durant by a step. Sandy has gone 12 up and 12 down in four scoreless innings. Dan myers will lead things off. He’s 0 to 1 with a pop to first and that’s going to be in there for strike three, one down in the fifth. This is just dotted slider down and away so many times. And that count right there. 0212 Gito buries something in the dirt or goes with that fastball up and just not expecting that one to stay up on the zone and that was just dotted. It feels like a game where he hadn’t given up a base runner yet, but the stuff’s good but the command has not been, he’s been missing spots, he’s missing over the plate and it feels like here at some point somebody’s going to clip on base, hit the Red Sox, have their first base runner in their first knock. This, let’s see if that brings the offense to and he struck out Abreu five strikeouts for Altra getting into scoring position, stole the base number 20 one. That is the franchise record for Trevor story with 21 steals on 21 attempts to start the season most ever to start a season without being thrown out Red Sox history back to back strikeouts after the leadoff base hit by story here in the fifth. Abraham Torro is 0 to 1. He’s grounded out to first oh leaping grab Rob Toro of an RB I single. It remains 1 to 0. Miami doesn’t even do it justice. Another extra base hit for the Marlins this time. It’s Liam Hicks leading off the top of the 6th, 5th double of the night by the Marlins. This is the first time that Miami’s had the lead man on swinging away lines. It to right. Abreu will make the play back to second goes Hicks Hicks to third two down. Wagemans gone 1 to 2 of the base hit ground ball story covers the ground, Trevor time to get him down. Nothing comes of the double by Rafael Narvaez and Anthony against sandy with a change up barreling down and out of the zone. The second of the game, roman Anthony will take ball four and here comes Alex Bregman, 2 to 2 runner goes line drive to right field. That’s going to. Here comes Anthony for the cut off man and he will score and this game is tough drag man with a double to make it 1 to 1. And the Red Sox break through against the fish one pitch and one out. It is Lucas Giolito still out there. Myers drives one out towards the gap in left center field that’s going to get down for a base hit in front of Raffaele one out single here in the seven for Dame Myers. The go ahead man is at first it co out of the dugout. He’s going to bring on Wilson to face Edwards Lucas Giolito with a really nice bounce back in this one. He has really got into an excellent groove at home. He’s going to get a fine hand at Fenway on this Friday night, Justin wilson, the lefty, the new pitcher for the Red Sox ground ball to second Gonzalez to story on the first and a double play 463 Red Sox out of the inning on in the ninth inning, Aroldis Chapman and he will get the bottom three in their batting order splitter and struck him out. That’s perfect. That’s really unfair is what that is. That is how special this place can be when it’s games like this and this ball club is playing good baseball fo who’s also had a very nice year to see Trevor story right on right, the winning run 90 ft away. He is grounded on the right side , win, walk off, hit for Trevor’s story. There’s magic in those green duties. They steal one tonight, 2 to 1 as story is mobbed in right field. You don’t want to play this team. There’s something about them, there’s something in the water in that clubhouse. They have that fight in them late in games.
