Padres vs. Dodgers Game Highlights (8/15/25) | MLB Highlights

It’s finally here. It’s Padres, it’s Dodgers tonight. It should be electric. There’s been some bad blood Donnie between these two ball clubs but the bottom line as all eyes are on this series, it’s all about playing good baseball and some separation over for the Padres in the standings against the Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw is ready to take it for the Dodgers. His 50th career start against San Diego when you factor in two in the postseason and it is a big one as he tries to get the Dodgers back into a tie for first place in the division swing and a miss and a ball in the dirt picks it up. Tags arise and there are two men out first strikeout of the night for Clayton Kershaw in his 3015th of his career. And now it is time for Manny Machado to be greeted here at Dodger Stadium in similar fashion as he always is, he can feel the warm fires. The 2 to 2 home got him swinging slider 123 go. The Padres and Kershaw strikes out to the opener tonight. He is Wandy Peralta in place with Michael King placed on the aisle look for him to go maybe 4 to 6 hitters tonight. Jackson got kind of a late break coming into the slide to make the catch. He did not come in initially but recovers that kind of speed and makes the grab. Dr number two swung on and missed strike three, a 123 1st for Peralta and he caps it with a K two out. Nobody on no score here at Dodger Stadium as ramon Loo stands in to get his first taste of this rivalry. Hit a home run in the 11 to 1. Padre victory Wednesday afternoon in San francisco, a high fly ball this time down the line and it will be that way. See it’s gone. Liano connects on his 18th of the year wraps its way around the pole and the Padres take a 10 lead just off the fair pole there. Thank you very much. He got very far from the box. He was pretty sure it was going foul. I thought it was too. He was out in front of it. That ball was hooking, hooking, hooking just enough. Juan Peralta. He did his job tonight. Now it’s going to be Andy Vasquez coming in from the bullpen to suck up some innings for the Padres down here in the second inning and Paul has center fielder as he loses his bat and pops one up towards the Padre dugout for me over the and Then collided with the railing and dropped it and is now laying down kind of half on the field, half in the camera. Well, and he went full speed, chest high stomach into that railing. There was no pull up in that play at all. He did a flash look either to be ok. Certainly they keep an eye on that. As he goes back behind the dish , you can’t break the Fermin two outs. Nobody on in the 2nd 12 on in strike three got him to chase some high Gs and Peralta and Vasquez combined to strike out the side. It’s a couple of, of starving hitters getting a bite here to open the third. Conforto and Freeland setting the table and the Dodgers have set up shot 1st and 2nd and nobody out. Let’s see if Rojas is up there to sacrifice. He’s somebody that they asked to do that as much as anybody. He’s practiced it so much the last year plus pops it up diving try and it’s off Machado and everybody’s safe bases loaded. Nobody out. And Otani coming up a break for Rojas and the Dodgers that this clanks. He’s got plenty of length. He just doesn’t get it in the glove. All right, baby bases loaded for Otani Vasquez throws. Otani reaches out, pulls it to second. Cronenworth to second for one to first and the game is Michael in the score on a ground out from, it’s one to one in the third. Yes. They get the one out at second, but the Dodgers have only one out on offense and a man on third. So a chance to have an effective out right here with Mookie up and lead in this game. Betts flies it to center field deep enough to give him the lead. Here comes Freeland Dodgers two Padres, one sacrifice fly from Betts to put him in front. Will smith with Otan still at first base pitches strike at second base. The Fator throws out, oi catches him trying to steal at second base. Now one on to Oscar Hernandez. Oscar is grounded into a nine count of nine double plays grounded one to third base. Manny Machado will go to second for one on to first that’s due around the horn. They go and the twin killing nicely done, able to work his way around a walk. Thanks to inducing the double play. Only one hit for the Padres against Clayton Kershaw was a home run from this guy right here, Ramon Lorean. That’s a high chopper left side of the mound fielded by Kershaw spins throws gets it to first just in time eight straight set down by Clayton Kershaw. That is agonizing when you’re the fielder waiting and waiting and all the while, you know, the runner is running and running and running. Iglesias walked his first time up 3 to 2 strike, three called fastball right down the middle Iglesias out on strikes and that’s the third strikeout tonight for Kershaw one down here in the fifth inning for Michael Conforto swing and a miss, he struck him out third strikeout for Randy Vasquez two down here in the fifth inning. This was one of the better curveballs that Randy Vasquez has thrown two down here in the fifth inning for Alex Freeland and he takes strike three right at the bottom of the zone back to back for randy Vasquez in a 12 3/5 inning tying run at first one gone in the sixth coming up. He’s zero for two tonight. He’s now zero for 11 in his career against Kershaw. His third consecutive start of six innings pitched allowing one run or fewer grounded a second. There’s one two and there, Clayton Kershaw when the Dodgers need him most. The Dodgers trailing the Padres in the division suddenly handing the ball to the veteran lefty six dazzling innings tonight. Two down here in the seventh, Jackson Merrill, hopefully that light saber of his will do some damage here line down the right field line. That is a fair ball to the right field corner. Jackson Merrill is headed for second base at least as hernandez digs it out. It’s a two out double for Jackson Merrill here in the seventh inning. So the two out chance belongs to Liano who Mike Schilt says has been in the middle of everything in his two weeks with the team tying run at 2nd 2/7 inning flagged to center field. No big deal for top of the seventh one down in the seventh Oscar Hernandez zero for two to center field. Merrill’s going back. He’s at the, here’s the Oscar Hernandez, an opposite field blast and it’s 3 to 1 made it solid with a strong swing. He doesn’t over swing here at all. He keeps his balance. He gets on top of this pitch. He supplies some power and so does this fastball. That’s the first home run that Jeremiah Estrada has given up since June 17th when he gave one up right here. Two hit batsmen and a walk load the bases for San Diego with one out. So without the benefit of a base hit, the Padres have loaded the bases here in the eighth inning tying run at second. Go ahead run aboard Luisa to the plate to left field and moves over to make the catch scoring is Iglesias on the sac fly. It’s a one run game now. 3 to 2 with a sacrifice fly. The Padres a little closer comes dave Roberts with Manny Machado coming up next trying to ready to go in the pen. Looks like he’s going to go get him a run in the bank tying run at second. Go ahead run at 1st, 1st pitch, pop up short, left field bet’s calling, he’s there. That’s the end. Lot of a lot of drama and a first pitch pop out for Machado , Jack Dryer looking for the 27th out of this game. Looking for the second save of his rookie year gets the platoon advantage right here over a pinch shooting Ryan o’hearn tying run at first. Go ahead run at the plate two. Gone in the ninth inning. A tribute to Ted Nugent. I’ve had Stranglehold is my walk up song like my entire major league career and just a big fan of Ted and I thought the Back King did an awesome job on his face and I think it looks awesome. So hopefully this one stays in one piece and, uh, maybe I can send it to Ted and get him to sign it for me or something. So this is probably my favorite this year. We’ll see. What do you can do for him here against Jack Dryer, here in the ninth with two down lifted to center field. Dean is there? The Dodgers are back in first. They’ve taken the first game of this highly anticipated match up with the Padres. The first of 6/10 days goes the way of the Dodgers.

  1. Way to Go O'Hearn, jinxing the Padres with your racist Ted Nugent bat.
Any wonder he had to cancel his concerts? People stopped going.
There's no place for racism anywhere, especially in baseball.

  2. A year ago I read many comments here that Kershaw was washed up and is near retirement. For all of you naysayers, you're eating your words. Btw, I'm not a fan of either team. I just appreciate greatness. Kershaw is currently #2 all-time in career Winning Percentage for pitchers playing after WWII. He has a career record of 219-96 and a .695 Winning Percentage ⚾️ 🧢

  3. Ted Nugent is a rapist and child molestor. He confessed and admitted to this in an interview with VH1's behind the music. Dude made a baseball bat with a pedo's face on it. Weird AF.

  4. 結果、チームは勝ったのだから、わざわざサムネに盗塁死の画像を使わなくても、カーショーでもテオヘルでもいいのに…
    何としてでも大谷下げをしたい担当者w

  5. “And I don't know how they do it but they sure do it good,” Dodgers win, they must have a vaccine for Cat Scratch Fever and the San Diego Padres.

  6. pathetic when this storied franchise is dependant on the old man to get any w's. , should be l.a.'s only win in this series. now time to take in replays of the nats victory vs dodgers in 2019 nlds game 5
