This is how close one of the planes got to Wrigley… Taken during the 7th inning stretch yesterday.

  1. Thats pretty close & explains why some windows blew out on lsd if they were flying that low.

  2. Stupid is as stupid does. And people get arrested for exposing themselves. How is this any different?

  3. We were sitting by the broadcast booth. Came out of nowhere. It was really cool. Now let’s get our bats back.

  4. I look forward to these comments:

I personally wish I was there to experience this, because it more than likely was freaking awesome. They were probably if I had to guess rehearsing for the Air and Water show this weekend, and thought they’d surprise Wrigley Field.

Before people assume, they definitely got clearence from air traffic control before doing this, because you’re not allowed to fly anywhere near close to an MLB stadium (or any sports stadium for that matter) before getting cleared by air traffic control (post 9/11 bill).

  5. Happened to me in 2003. Bottom 7 of a boring pitchers duel in July. Gonzales hit a home run and as soon as he stepped into the dugout, they flew over so low I thought I could touch them. Crowd went crazy.

  6. Maybe I’m misremembering but I could swear I was at a game, maybe the ‘98 season, when one flew just to the left of light towers on the roof.

  7. Was there. Can confirm, one of the coolest things non baseball I’ve ever experienced at Wrigley.

  8. I was at the game when Ozzy Osbourne ‘sang’ the stretch and the air show was helping as well so I got to watch the game and the air show. If you can plan it out to where you get a seat in left field or 3B side or one of the rooftops it’s an experience like none other. Watching a team that predates men’s first flight while watching men break the sound barrier. This place sucks a lot right now and I’m no fan of the military industrial complex but that’s unparalleled experience.
