Successful Saturday | Royals Claim Series vs. White Sox

It is Michael Lorenzen five and eight with a 461. a, he was on a real roll right when he hit the injured list. And the current White Sox roster is a combined five for 44 against Michael Lorenzen. Tauchman draws a base on balls and up comes Sosa. Sosa lifts one softly past wit the White Sox, get the line moving early and up comes Colson Montgomery swing and a miss nice changeup had Montgomery out in front and down. He goes and that is a huge strikeout. Luis Robert with two on one out bright to junior out at second and a double play 6 to 4 to 3 and Michael Lorenzen escapes. This might be a jersey and inning night for Michael Lorenza 66 right hander sean Burke on the hill bottom of the first STRS zero for four in the game last night. Jastremski belt it into deep right center field on a hot night and it’s gone over the wall in right center. It went one to nothing Royals on Yastrzemski 11th home run that brings up wit Bobby hitting 290 a shot in the left field for a hit Bobby witt solid single. There he goes, the pitch is outside. Teal’s throw is high. Stolen base number 31 we got a great jump on Burke in comes the pitch to be in good swing right there and fouled off and the Royals are getting good swing after that swing. Looking into the dugout and out comes Kyle Turner Royals trainer along with manager matt Guro and you see what’s bothering Pas Quintino, he shook it off, whatever it was and a breaking ball got it. And now all eyes will be on him as he walks back to the dugout walls, two strikes, two out which at 2nd, 2 to 2 got him swinging ISMs home run, puts the Royals in front and at the end of one inning Royals won right. So here’s Randall Grik. They got him from the Diamondbacks base hit left for and that’s going to roll to the fence and the Royals have a runner at second with one out. That’s the third hit for the Royals all well over 100 miles an hour off the bat. And there’s the slider to the righties. 1st 3 to 2 pitch to Lofton with at second, it’s in the dirt ball four on one away. One nothing Royals. Kyle is one out of three last night, grounded to the mound to second base and wild throw in the center field. How often does that happen? And here comes to score the second run you cannot afford to make mistakes in what looks like it’s going to be a tough and tight game. This is right back to and they don’t pick themselves up defensively. That is a major negative try it again. That one lined into right coming in and making a play is Baldwin and the throw to first is in time to get him. The Sox do get a double play, they’ll take it. Brooks has got a cannon out there in the outfield. Great job by Brooks. Baldwin. Chase Myra playing his second game since getting back from the injured list. Third baseman charging in Garcia fires to first in a bang bang play. He gets him, that’s very limited. It takes no time. He gets a lot of the throw nice play. So took a four pitch walk. So 1st and 2nd, the batter is Montgomery and there’s called strike three, a sinker at the knees, got him looking and he gets Lorenzen and the Royals out of the inning. So he puts a couple of base runners on but he strands both of them. We go to the home third Royals up to announced that he left the game after the first with a heat related illness, raves hitting and Vinny spot the third spot in the order of the rest of the way and a swing and a ball well hit deep right center field. That’s way back there and that ball is out of here. It’s a home run to right center John Rave taking Vinny spot number three spot order on a very clean swing and up comes john Rave bunt and a good one. Alexander picks it up and throws very late. Great bunt by Rave. So john Rave has explored the extremes in this game. A home run and a bunt single and the Royals have two on with one out Garcia the hitter 0 to 2 and Michael belts it to left field that’s going to sail over Bennett and up against the wall. Jastrzebski scores. Here’s rave right behind him and he is in there with a head first slide. The Royals have blown a little hole in this game Royals five white sox nothing in the bottom of the sixth. Adam Frazier is zero for two. He has flied to center and lined to right swing and a liner into center field. Another base hit for Adam Frazier. A leadoff hit here in the sixth inning. Now it’s Randall Grech. There’s a hanging breaking ball line in the left field for past the diving third baseman Bargas. So with a hard liner to the left side is two for three tonight, Frazier is at second base. Nobody down. Nick Lof up for a third time. Nick had two productive plate appearances and it into left Frazier is going to be way home on and his throw will be cut off and the Royals lead six nothing. Nick Lofton three productive plate appearances tonight. Two hits and there’s an RB I right there. 60 KC Bailey Falter pitches out of the bullpen for the first time since becoming a royal two. Gone. Here’s Montgomery swung on and into right center field. This is down for a hit Montgomery with a big turn around. First. He’s got the Jets on slides in and has himself a two out double. It’s kind of an awkward slide at second base and I think he might have broken his belt. Uh 00, he did that thing long dart. It was not a graceful slide. Well, he got a face full of mud and he’s gonna go get a new belt. So it’s a walk to robert and it’ll bring up Ben and 10 with two on and two out. There’s a swing and a drive well , hit out of the right center field and it is going to be down for a base, hit, two runs are gonna score. Montgomery is in Robert behind him now, double, Ben and gets the white Sox on the board knocking in a pair. It’s 6 to 2. Thought it would be fun to let the kids be creative. I’ve seen other people had like the idea of like uh having the kids design their stuff and in the past and so I was like, all it would be cool to have um them create one. And Then I have my six year old daughter kind of create one too. So she, uh she got a little bit more colorful too, which I like. So I just gave him free rein and said, like, maybe gave him like a few ideas like pointers here and there, but they kind of ran with a Taylor Clark will get the ninth inning with a four run lead and get the bottom part of the order swing and a Miss Clark strikes out teal next pitch popped up short. Center in comes kyle Isbell, two men out a pitch hit single for Edgar Carroll fans begin to slowly peel themselves out of their seats to cheer Taylor Clark to the finish line. And when the Royals record the final out of this inning, they will be just a game and a half behind Cleveland third strike. So the Royals have won the series and the Royals are now officially a winning team at this point in the season. Outstanding. No question about it on teachers night, the fellas got good reports and nice grades and continue to think sweep is tomorrow. They got a good chance here. It would be really nice to see them continue to play good defense and get the timely hits home runs. Really do help.

The Royals received home runs from Mike Yastrzemski and John Rave and solid pitching throughout to take the second game of the series vs. the White Sox! Maikel Garcia and Nick Loftin chipped in with RBI knocks of their own in the series-clincher.

  1. Finally back above .500. We just need to keep winning and hope for the best. It's going to be hard trying to overcome Yankees, Red Sox, or Mariners but we just need to try to keep winning and see what happens.
