Coach Mike McDaniel meets with the media | Miami Dolphins
Boom. Whoa. Well, I thought there’s uh you know, some uh really good things he did. Um some things that uh he could do better. Um overall it was a a very intentional um you know week and you know the the the basically the journey of a quarterback is you have to be able to learn to take whatever reps you have and then um work on your own and apply it to your game. It was a good day. there’s a lot of stuff that we can learn from, but um it it was, you know, cool to, you know, give him a couple opportunities that he made, uh the most of and particularly the uh you know, orchestrating a 17play drive at the end was was good. So, um good good stuff to learn learn from. Really going to go back and look at look at the tape to see um what we can get better from and uh you know, start chopping wood next week. Yeah. No, there’s um Zack Zack did some uh really good things in the in the first half. There was uh you know, I think he he did a good job handling the you know, their early looks where they were kind of um playing zone from man alignments and and vice versa. Um there was a couple plays uh that he could get better from for sure. A couple plays that um I was very impressed that he made. So overall, I’m I’m happy with, you know, the the output, and we’ll continue working on our process um as uh as the preseason goes. Well, I’m definitely not going to overreact to results considering I talk about the process all the time. So I would be um uh I would be uh speaking against my own. Um but you know I think the the biggest thing is that guys uh you find things to see if guys can improve upon. Um you know both those guys have done a great job to uh and two has led led the way. So um you know I’m not concerned about that at all. You know I think the most important thing is that we continue to improve and always do what’s best for the team. um uh when push comes to shove. So, uh guys are going to keep working and um we need them to have their best next week. Um well, I think first of all was attempts. Um there, you know, there’s a lot of things going on. We’re trying to figure out various things from our with our roster. you know, these we have a very competitive um uh young team and so you have to, you know, I feel irresponsible if I don’t give people opportunities and then sometimes when you’re trying to figure that out, you know, if a you come to work and the defense wants to um play eight in the box every every time you get a couple more pass ops. Um I think the biggest thing was it kind of gave them a rhythm in the run game in the second half. if I got more calls in uh and and guys, you know, I’ve been very happy with our line of scrimmage work both offensively and defensively. And so, uh you know, giving an opportunity to um get a couple more reps and uh display that was good. Well, so you know, I think you you’re you’re trying everybody needs reps, but um you know, when you’re when you’re in preeason games, moving on from um practice, particularly in a joint um for for uh two opportunities, you yet I’m very intentional with each player that that plays. is um you know there there’s some young guys that need more reps uh and uh particularly uh you know I don’t and then there’s position battles that you you don’t want to um you don’t want to have an answer for um that that’s up in up in the air in your head. It has to be settled on the field. So, there’s a lot of things going on. Um, and but there were some opportunities for some young guys to uh really, uh, you know, immerse themselves into the team, uh, utilizing their technique and fundamentals that the upper classmen have have shown them. Um, so, you know, there’s, uh, there’s a lot of good spirited effort that was most important. The guys that played played hard, and that’s the brand of football we’re trying to have. Um, one of my favorite things, uh, that I talk to the team about all the time is the plays after, um, something happens that you don’t like. So, a bad play, um, you know, in this case for D, he had an early fumble. and for him to go back and um not blink and uh to be competitive and utilize his technique, fundamentals um I I was very happy with. That’s a uh not an easy thing to do, but what I’m always looking for are those guys um to see how they respond to adversity because it’s not if, but when. So, uh it was it was good for him to get that opportunity and take advantage of it. Um uh the not nothing from the last time we spoke. Uh you know, I’m going to we’re going to get back in town and kind of uh uh better assess the the time frames. I um between days and um weeks, but not too long, you know. So, um I I both of them are uh we’re going to reassess when we get back to Miami, but I’m not concerned for what you’re concerned about. Yeah. Well, so it’s a you know, um a soft tissue lower body that’s not severe, um semi-preventative, but kind of tricky for timelines. Yeah, it was uh he you know if it was a situation where he could have um if we had a regular season game it would have been a very different situation. Um you know I think he uh but there’s nothing severe going on. Um uh appears to be hamstring. Don’t know the severity. Um we’ll check that out when we get back. Oh, the you know to get all those reps is invaluable just because not only is it the situation in the moment of truth, but then everybody learns from it in the in the film room. So, you know, those are particularly with um you know, how Dan likes to do it, super aggressive that um you’re looking for those moments uh of intensity and pressure situations to see how people respond. Oh man, I thought I was going to go forever. Yeah, totally. I think not even just me, but the entire crew that I’m playing with, I think we took a big step today. Um, I think last week for us, I think we kind of got all the jitters out. Um, and we were kind of able to just play our brand of football in our game. um instead of, you know, if whether it’s making stuff up or um it just being some of those guys first game in the NFL, myself included. Um but I think we did a really good job of learning from

LETS GO MIKE
I have high hopes this year as always
Dub!
Still can't hear the questions!!!
Ollie RB2
Quin should be number 2 QB .. Ollie 2nd back keep wright in the mix
Zack wilson has not shown me much so far.
This defense has a potential to be a shutdown defense!
Praying Achane is fully healthy by week 1 🙏
This is 2025 why can't we hear the reporters questions? SO FRUSTRATING!!!!
What College did he play at????
Must of been a hell of a player in Highschool
After ALL THAT CRAP Detroit was talking it feels SO GOOD to feed them a Big Slice of HUMBLE PIE..
Dan Campbell needs to put a sock in some of his player's mouths ~
If we go into the season with Zach Wilson at #2 then McDaniels should be immediately fired
at this point it has to be intentional to not hear the questions
It's almost pointless to do these when you can't hear the questions being asked.
