Nationals Pitchers Created Their Own Coin For U.S. Military Coin Swaps ❤️🇺🇸
We as pitchers decided to get a coin this year because how many coins we got last year from just catching first pitches or meeting people around um DC and we would always get coins and we felt terrible not giving one back. Um so we created one in spring training this year to uh hand out. This is one side of it, the old school DC with the capital building behind it and then it says nationals pitching staff. Aim small, miss small. A lot of guys have like coin displays in their lockers just because of how many coins you get and it’s been fun to collect. So, it’s been fun to get coins and kind of show them off. And my dad was a Marine. Um, so growing up, he was heavily involved in the Marine Corps. He still works with the Marine Corps today. So, for me, it’s just always been part of my family.
Players get coins from military branches all the time …… so they thought they’d return the favor.
