1-on-1: Devontez Walker on His Standout Performance Against the Cowboys | Baltimore Ravens

Tez, appreciate the time. Congrats. You are player of the game. Waw Wa player of the game. Do you ever go to Waw Wa and enjoy it? I’ve never had it. I’ I’ve never had it. I’ve been meaning to go, but I just I I ain’t got around to it. I need to, though. Yeah. No better time than the present after uh earning that honor. In all seriousness, though, great game out of the gate, too. 6 for 61. Did you know when looking at the game plan that there were going to be opportunities early for you in this game? Uh, I didn’t really know, but I kind of kind of sensed it after like, you know, the showing a little bit last week. Didn’t have many pass yards first half. So, we we know we wanted to come out here, you know, and get get that chemistry early with the QBs, make them feel more comfortable and stuff like that. How would you describe your mindset, not just in this game, but in this camp because consistently it seems you’ve been making plays? Uh, the same same thing as last year what I went into as just finding that role on this team, what I’m going to be doing when the season come and stuff like that. So, that’s been my biggest goal, find that role, coming out here and showcase my abilities and stuff like that. You mentioned role. When there’s so many talented players, it’s such a deep offense, especially in that wide receiver room. What do you try and keep in mind? Um, honestly, that that I’m I’m here for a reason. You know, guy they drafted and believe in, you know, kind of to go out there and prove him right. That’s my mindset every day. And then just picking off the brains of those guys like Dehop, Bait, and Zay and things like that. So, they’ve been helping me out helping me out a lot. Yeah. You mentioned Dehop. What is he giving you in terms of advice, guidance, whatever it may be? ju just just go out there and play. You know what I’m saying? Like you know the NFL offenses, you thinking a lot, stuff like that. Like he comes in, he just tells us to go out there, play as fast as you can. Try to limit the thinking. Like when you he just told me when you thinking a lot, you can’t go out there and play. So he he just brings that aspect. Just just go out there just just have fun and play. Lastly, how much confidence you bring in year two? A lot. A lot of conf especially like after after games like this and the practices I’ve been having. I I feel real good about this year.
