  1. This is pretty much the nail in the coffin for our division hopes if we can’t lock in for this series. The Brewers finally lost, hopefully we can extend that to a 6 game losing streak

  2. I hope for Luke Little’s sake that he gets into the game today, assuming he’ll just be sent back down between games to activate Jamo for game 2.

Then again, if Cade wants to throw a CG shutout, I’d be thrilled with that too.

  3. Happ sitting the day after he factored heavily into the little scoring the Cubs did (2 hits, walk, a steak, and a run scored).

Normally I’d say a smartass, “on brand” for Craig. However, Happ is 2 for 32 against Peralta. .063/.211/.156.

Welcome to the bigs, ONKC. First assignment, there’s Max Scherzer. Then sit for a couple days only to come pinch hit late in the game. Now? There’s Freddy Peralta. Good luck.

  4. Horton is at 85 innings. He’s never pitched more than 88 in his career. They will probably limit him to 5 today

  5. I don’t care if it makes me seem a fool but LETS FUCKING GO CUBBIES! I BELIEVE IN YOU! TWO WINS WOULD BE A GREAT PRESENT FOR MY BIRTHDAY!

  6. Woof. In very limited PAs, only Pete and Tucker have good numbers against Freddy. It would have been a good day to just change shit up and go Pete leadoff, Tucker two. But then again, Tucker has been in such a bad slump.

  7. Since Tucker can’t hit and only walk, and Busch actually gets extra base hits, I’d rather see Tucker lead off and get on base for Busch to drive him in, rather than Busch get on base just for Tucker to roll it over to first.

  8. Holy fuck driving to work and I have espn radio on, some national guys that pretty much always suck are on. Harry and Douglas or something. They are going on this tirade on Councell about how he said he doesn’t really know George Webb or whatever. That’s all he said and I listened for like 5 minutes about them just absolutely trashing his character. The one guy kept saying “I guarantee he’s the kind of guy to” and just absolutely attacking him personally when it’s pretty clear he doesn’t even know who he is. These guys talk about nfl year round, barely touch on nba or mlb. It really really rubbed me the wrong way.

  9. If the Cubs can sweep they’ll only be 3 games out. Maybe the Brewers shot their wad and are ready to slump?

  10. Brothers this feels like a playoff game. Proudly wearing my Cubs blue in Scottsdale, AZ.

  11. Big opportunity today. As hard as the team has been to watch lately I’m also pretty grateful to have so much meaningful baseball this year and today and the next few days are significant, it’s fuckin great

  12. Lets go Cubbies!
If things go terribly, I’m using last nights Bears highlights as eye bleach.

  13. For the optimists who can help a brother out – what in the last series gives you meaningful hope for this showdown?

  14. Hello from Metro Detroit.

Tigers don’t play until tonight so why not kill some time and watch some Cubs baseball this afternoon?

And wait, you’re playing the Brewers in a 5 game series this week?
