Brewers vs. Cubs Game Highlights (8/18/25) | MLB Highlights
And here today on Marquee Sports Network, it’s the Cubs and the Brewers. It’s a double header and the first of a fivegame series. Fans excited. And Owen Casey making his first Wrigleyfield start. Cade Horton who gets the start. And wow, has he been good this year. Wow, has he been good at Wrigleyfield. Just peppers the strike zone. His last three starts, he’s thrown first pitch strikes to 80% of the batters. he has faced. League averages right around 60%. So that’s been the ammo on the attack overpowering. Well, he’s got his work cut out for him because don’t look now. The Brewers lead the majors. They have scored more runs per game than anyone in baseball. All the pieces in place. Let’s do it. First of a double header today. Day night double header. And now Horton going to work two and two on the leadoff man, Bryce Terra. Swing and a miss. And that’s the way the double header begins. Boy, if he can continue to throw that fast ball and throw it over the plate and then move it around just a little bit. He’s got such a good fast ball with Here comes the payoff. Bouncing ball wide of third. Glove by Shaw. Moving to his left, sets the feet. Throws him out. One, two, three for Cade Horton. Eddie Peralta ready to go against Craig Council’s Chicago Cubs. He leads Major League Baseball with 14 wins. So two up and two down. It’ll bring up Seiya Suzuki. Line drive base hit center field. One for one for the birthday boy. Two outs and a man aboard. And here’s Pete Crow. Armstrong. No score. Bottom of the first, two down. Armstrong out in front of an off speed pitch. Peralta got him to chase and he is out and that is the inning. Top of the second inning starts with Christian Yelich. Today’s cleanup hitter for the Brewers. Strike three caught. Yell caught looking. Yell not crazy about the call. That’s Steu. Shorewwater made. And that’s 97 painted at the notch of the knees. Perkins returned from the briement list yesterday when one for four against the Reds. Swing and a miss. And Horton able to get Perkins two away. Two away for Sal Felic. First ball swinging. Sal Felick into right field to base hit. Danny Jansen now big spot early. Drilled deep left field. That’s trouble going back and making the catch is Owen Casey. Nice play by Owen. He ran over and then veered back. never gave up on the ball and made a nice one-handed catch. And here comes Owen Casey to the plate. Owen Casey. Owen Casey’s first time here hitting at Wrigley Field. And a swing and a miss. Casey strikes out the mighty Casey. Second time around now against Cade Horton. See if the Brewers can dial in on the 23-year-old Cade Horton. He leads the majors since the All-Star break in earned run average. Fly ball to left. got some carry to it. Casey’s back. Look it up and Terra goes deep again. The power surge of Bryce Terang his 13th home run and the Brewers strike first and Bryce Terra. How about the power from the Brewers second baseman here of late one two drive rip fair ball down the third baseline and that’ll get into the corner. Casey will dig it out. Durban is into second. Craig Councel, Nick Franella, the Cubs trainer, going out to see him. They’re looking at his at his hand. That’s got to be blister issue. Yeah, he may be having a little got a little hot spot or something going there. You know, the one thing you don’t want him doing is making any kind of an adjustment with his grip because of the finger or whatever issue he’s having and having that affect his elbow or shoulder and they’re just going to move on from him here. And a new man coming in. It’s an injury related departure. Pomerance will take over. Big moment now. The Brewers have the bases loaded. Blake Perkins and delivers. The pitch bounced toward third, backing up Shaw. Long throw across the diamond and it’s just in time. I don’t think they’re going to challenge it. Inning over. Good job by Pomeran. Peralta has retired six in a row. And a swing at a miss. It’s been the off speed today for Peralta. Change ups and curve balls. picks up his third K. One- nothing Brewers lead it as we go to the bottom of the fourth inning. Peralta’s had a good off speed collection today. So, just as Freddy was starting to really look like he was getting into a rhythm, back-to- back one-out walks, and Chris Hook is on his way out to chat with the Brewer starter. Off the inside edge, ball four, and they’re all loaded up for the kid. Three consecutive walks from a guy that would have to be categorized as a control pitcher. Now Owen Casey could make 40,000 people really happy with a big swing. And he struck him out. A change up from Peralta. The guts to throw that pitch. Change up. Got him. But it’s out number two. And Nicoer do up. Huge strike out. One more piece to the puzzle here. Two strike pitch. Her in the air right field. Felick is right there. And Freddy Peralta on his 30th pitch of the inning strands the bases loaded. Both teams have left him loaded. It’s a thriller at Wrigley. Durban will dig in. Right-handed batter sends that one deep in the left. Durban’s going to watch it fly. Tape measure job by Caleb Durban. Two to nothing Brewers. Durban seventh of the year. Caleb Durban exit stage left. So little after retiring the first two back-to- back walks here in the sixth inning and the door is open for the Brewers with two outs. It’s a little tapper that is going to stay fair. Throw to first is up the line. It gets away. Here comes Freelick. He’s in. Jansen around third. It’ll be held. The Brewers lead three nothing on a swinging bunt by Ortiz. The power of putting the ball in play. One wild ride of an inning in the fourth, but otherwise Freddy Peralta has been on his game. I mean, fast balls up, fast balls down. The change up has been good. Curved ball was good early on. Fly ball left center. Perkins back onto the warning track, makes the catch, and that ends the inning at six. Scoreless from Freddy Peralta on the north side of Chicago. And Durban will lead off this seventh inning. Outside corner. Durban is gone. Swing and a miss. Contrarus is gone. Two balls, two strikes. Little fires. Luke Little strikes out the side. It’s time to stretch our seven stretch back at Wrigley and Hatner will take over here. Bottom seven. There’s Owen Casey now. Two- two line into left center field. There it is. A base hit for Owen Casey. His first in the big leagues. Big moment for Owen Casey. They are loaded for guess who? Joey Ortiz. Saw that note. The eighth inning for whatever reason has been a trouble inning for the Cubs. Ortiz shoots one right side. Gloved out by Castro. Not in time. An infield hit. It’s an RBI. Bases are still loaded and the Brewers lead 4 nothing. You can call them lucky if you like. They do it every single game. Bryce Terang, the batter now. Terang with a base hit into right field. Station to station they go. It is five nothing Brewers. Bryce Terang wasting no time. And you start making some mistakes or walking some guys. They’re going to make you pay. And they’ve had some very good at bats here in the eighth. Still only one away. Base is loaded. Little Q shot. Castro to second. Out there. Not in time at first. It’ll be another RBI for Durban. Another ball in play and the Brewers make it 6 nothing. William Contreras the batter. Hollowell deals Contraras that goes to the screen and coming in to score is Ortiz. It is seven to nothing Brewers. 7 nothing Brewers. Grant Anderson trying to close this one out on the north side of Chicago. Carson Kelly batting. Two down ninth inning. Popped him up left field. Collins coming in. Collins under it, makes the catch, and the Brewers shut out. The Cubs 7 nothing in game one of the double header. A frustrating start to the day for the Cubs.

A big Fat Zero for the Chicago FiBs 😂🤣
Eat it craig😂
Any win against the Cubs and Consell is GRrrrreeeatttttt!!!!!
This game was so close for a Brewers Cubs game. If the Brewers were not better than the Cubs at Pitching, Fielding, Base Running, Batting, Talent Development, and coaching, the Cubs could have actually won a game, because the Brewers are just lucky to be playing a team as bad as the Cubs.
Buy a lid on the Wrigley, Chicago. Why can't you play baseball because of the rain?
The Cubs should've gotten a big bat at the trade deadline.
kyle sucker is on suicide watch….
Hope we don’t lose the double header so I can watch those highlights too!
I hate the Cubs. Ruin their season this series…..pleeeeeeeease.
Every win streak has to start somewhere.
" Goin to CHIcago! Goin to CHIcago!"…Zeppelin
Easy win in Milwaukee South.
Another nice win at AmFam South
Did this actually happen today? Because if I'm looking at the schedule right, the game hasn't even started.
If the baby bears keep this up they will reach double digits in the hits column by the end of the 5 game series!😮
The magic bats
They're lucky Milwaukee doesn't have an NHL team, We'd own them in that too 😂
why is the opening graphic a reds logo?
1:06 not even 2 batters in and there talking “if he cando this all game” like wtf it’s a starter
" he can make 40 thousand fans really happy , " swung on and missed, strike three !! Cubs got crushed !!! Fly the big ol L, AGAIN !!!!!
Record since Cubs were up by 6 1/2 games.
Cubs -25 and 26
Brewers 40 and 10.
That’s how you have a 15 1/2 game swing.
The Cubs are battling for a wild card and it won’t surprise me if the don’t make the playoffs.
Jesus cubs announcers are trash
